If you'd asked me a week ago if I thought there was any demonstrable difference between McDonald's locations, I would've said absolutely not, they're all basically the same. And then I went to this location. We'd just finished a fun outing at the museum and wanted to grab a quick bite before hitting the road, so I figured we'd grab a couple of things from McDonald's. I assumed by ordering online for pickup, I could arrange it so the food would be waiting when I walked in. But the McDonald's app doesn't let you order ahead of time; you can pay and stuff, but the food won't start being prepared until you walk through the doors. It's a dumb and weird system. Anyway, after waiting in the store for about 15 minutes, the food was finally ready. I had ordered the McChicken ("Breaded seasoned chicken and crisp lettuce, topped with our Mayo-Style Sauce") since it's been a go-to choice for years. I've eaten it hundreds of time, so believe me it's not nothing when I say this was the worst one I've ever had. The whole thing just ate so dry. The patty was just so dry, as though it had been sitting around for days. The stale bread did the concoction no favors. I pretty much had to choke the whole thing down. It wasn't pleasant. But I fared better than my dining companion, who ordered the Filet-O-Fish and discovered a fish bone in one of her first few bites. Nasty stuff. First time reviewing a McDonald's but the construction of the sausage egg mcmuffin came so close to how it looks in pictures, I thought it merited a shout-out. Just look at that sandwich! Truth be told, I don't visit McDonald's that often. When I do, it's because me and my dining companion need to do something early on the weekend and know we'll need quick coffee and quick energy on our way there. So we work it into the the trip as an incentive. When this happens, we actually go out of our way to visit this McDonald's because it seems a cut above the rest. In summer, we get take out and sit in front of the ROM and watch the passers-by. Today was our first time sitting inside. It's actually a spacious and very nice room with a variety of kinds of seating. There were 2 little birdies living inside and a patron and a staff member knew everything about them and were teaching people where to leave little crumbs so they would come down to get them. This is one of the better Mcdonald's in the downtown area, although this is not saying much. It has more seating, high ceilings, and table service. I understand that McDonald's isn't supposed to be something you're excited about, but I love this location. I always have. It's not like it was when I was a kid, but it's still right near all the great tourist places. Is it completely packed almost all the time? Yes. Is the ketchup machine almost always empty? Sure. But - BUT! - do they have table service that you can order through a self-touch machine? Yes they do. And so many of the tables are numbered. This was a game changer for me. It's all McDonald's in Ontario with reference to their new veggie burger, which they don't tell customers is first of all deep-fried !!! Who deep fries a burger?? and second of all it is deep fried in the fish oil, the same as the fish burgers, but they don't tell customers that!!they also put mayonnaise on it which contains which everybody's knows ,eggs!!!so how is that vegan or vegetarian burger???and the bun is not a vegan bun either which means it's made with egg and McDonald's doesn't tell anybody so if anybody reads this and you think you're having an actual vegan or vegetarian burger at all ,ur not!!and they don't let anybody know , it's disgusting. I haven't been to a McDonald's in years. Hubby & I came here as we were here for a late evening haunted walk tour. This was the closest place with food & a washroom. We got just a small order of french fries & a drink for him. We ate our snacks, used the washroom & got out. The eating area is pretty messy & most seats/tables were not clean. There was also some lady doing a loud rant to some hotel employees that were waiting for their food. I will say that I got my order really quickly. If the place were cleaner I would have a better impression of it. But late on a friday evening it wasn't terribly clean. This isn't the kind of place I normally go to but nothing decent was open at that time in the area. I wouldn't come here again. read more

Hubby and I are in town visiting for the first time. We're rushing around trying to get to all our destinations in the limited amount of time we have so when we got done with the Royal Ontario Museum, we wanted something quick to eat. We looked across the street and saw McDonald's. Yay!! When we walked in, we were momentarily dazzled. The interior decor is modern, clean and bright. We quickly spotted computers you can order off of so we did that. You have the option of table service so you grab a paper thingy from the side, punch in the# into the computer and your food arrives after a few minutes. Crazy convenient. There was a manager (in a suit) sweeping up the floors inside and outside on the sidewalk. Talk about attention to detail. He also opened doors for everyone. He patiently listened to an Italian tourist shit all over this amazing McDonald's because the ones in Rome "have everything, pasta, wine, everything!". Restrooms are immaculate, which is pleasantly surprised given how busy it was when we came. The prices seem a little higher than normal but given the neighborhood, it's to be expected. This McDonalds is really nice. The decor is modern & spacious, with big windows with a view of the ROM. I just wish it was run better. Complaint 1 - It's filthy half the time I go there, especially the bathrooms. The only time it seems to be clean is on weekdays around noon when there's a lady there who keeps the dining room spotless. But whenever she's not there, it's filthy. Complaint 2 - The patio is over-run by smokers!!!! You can't even eat on the patio. And the smokers are so inconsiderate. They could care less if you are eating there. They'll just keep blowing their nasty smoke in your face. Tonite, my head started to hurt me because of the smoke. They have no "no smoking" sign. Literally every time I visit this McDonald's, there are smokers sitting at the entrance so that every time you enter McDonalds, it's like you have to go through a wall of 2nd hand smoke to get inside. Most patrons are considerate. There's just a few bad apples that kind of ruin the experience. read more

Usually this location is busy but I found they keep it clean and they were fast with the order. I was happy to find out they accepted to redeem all of my instant wins at once from the McDonald's Monopoly. I ended up leaving with a whole meal for free. There used to be a McDonalds here back when I attended university and for some unknown reason it closed down much to all students' despair! It's back and newly renovated with 6 order yourself kiosks and 2 cashiers at the front. Although it looks like there are alot of seats, it's hard to get one because it's always at least semi full with families and kids, students, construction workers, office employees etc. I don't think all McDonalds have a staff member who greets you at the front and actively clears the tables and puts back chairs when seats become unoccupied. Definitely a great way to keep the space clean and organized unlike before! Service is also pretty fast at the rate orders keep coming in and staff are polite. Food quality is also consistent. Nothing to complain about! Also, you can customize your iced coffee order by hitting the customize button on the touchscreen kiosk. read more

We stopped here after visiting ROM museum which nice and convenient. This is a modern style McD's which is refreshing with restrooms for customers. I liked that there were free standing ordering stations besides going to the counter. It made it easy to pick up your meal and drink without waiting to order and pickup. Overall, I really hope we have these kind of store fronts in the US. read more

Definitely the best McDonald's experience I've had in Canada (and I've been to many). This McDonald's is newly renovated with modern decor, plenty of seating, and they even provide colouring mats and crayons for kids at a few of the tables. They also have table service at this location and I'm always able to get my food in a timely manner. Sad start to the new year came in today at roughly 6:30 pm jan 1st 2020 and ordered a quarter pounder and big mac. The place was preety understaffed and the manager daryl didnt look like he wanted to be there but that is still no reason to be disrespectful to customers. They also had alot of people waiting for their orders I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited the 15 minutes till I got my order. I decided to check my order just to make sure the burgers looked good because it seemed like they were rushing and I was very disappointed. The cheese was on the side of the box and loooked like it was just thrown in. I got the attention of the manager daryl and told him what the problem was. This guy straight up ignored me; I had to wave my hand in his face to get his attention. At this point I was upset; he said he would take the burgers back but I refused after his disrespectful attitude. I order online for the convenience of time as I have to get back to work, so one would be irked when the order isn't even made properly. Today was the last straw when after getting my order wrong yet again (they got it wrong yesterday); I found a piece of hair on the new one they gave me.
