$5 fries
Daniel M.

I was excited to come eat here because I was told it was amazing and they couldn't stop raving about it. It was disappointing in almost all respects. There is no seating at this location, you can't even go inside. You order from a window and wait on the side of the street until it's ready. So there's little overhead when it comes to seating, cleaning up after customers, etc. That is fine and understandable yet they're asking for tips to take your order while you stand outside and wait. The order in question: two burgers, two drinks and fries. I was given 1 napkin for all of that. Just one napkin. The burgers were small, just a bit bigger than a slider but thin and they were overcooked and burnt all around the edges. The fries were fine, golden and crispy but served in a small bag for $5. If Rudy is trying to save money in this economy, that's fine, but I don't feel the need to give them mine.

I was put on to this place by one of my close friends who actually lives out in Brampton. He told me that when he comes into downtown Toronto, this is usually one of his go-to burger spots. One day, as lunchtime was about to start, I hopped on Yelp and realized that this location was within walking distance of my workplace. When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was that ordering was done at a pickup window a la one of those classic hole-in-the-walls systems. There were maybe 2 groups ahead of me. In the span of 15 mins, the area in front of the window became chaotic after I ordered. I got a Crudy combo which came w/ poutine (opted for regular fries instead of the poutine) and a drink. The burger included 2 smash patties, cheese, fried onions, pickles and rudy sauce. The fries are shoestring variety (they were average tasting). At the cashier's recommendation, I got a chocolate shake to round off. My friend wasn't wrong. This was one of the best smash burgers I've EVER consumed. The patties were oh so crispy/caramelized and onions were layered between the patties for even distribution in every bite. I also liked that while the patties were pressed for the crispy edges, they still retained enough thickness. I've eaten some smash burgers where they press the patties so flat that they basically turn into crepes instead of patties and lack mouthfeel. The buns were super pillowy. While the burger WAS insane, I paid close to $30 for 3 items!!! Priced themselves JUST like Shake Shack at Dundas Square. Do I think the combo altogether was worth $30? Not a chance. My friend also told me the price has sadly spiked tremendously for no reason in the last year. I will definitely return for a burger once in a while but will probably skip out on anything else due to the astronomical prices for the sides and drinks. 5 stars for the burger quality (prolly just a 3 star rating in terms of value).

The burger was delicious, definitely some of the best I've had in Toronto and the poutine was really good too. It's a roadside takeout setup, which is kind of a cool concept. Service was kind and the food tasted super fresh, though we waited about 15-20 minutes. Overall, yummy and worth the stop!

This location has no seating - an fyi since we thought it at least had some bar tables to eat at - only a bench outside. I got the Rudy burger and small poutine. The patty was a bit crispier than expected but I really enjoyed the flavour of the sauce. The poutine was nothing too special. They had some other items that were not on the regular menu, not sure if it was for a limited time, but would like to return to try it.

Great burger but this spot is more inconsistent, especially if they're busy. Still one of my favourite burgers in the city. When they do the burger right and the cheese and burger fuse together, with all those crunchy edges - it just hits different.

Good fries, very little gravy ($)

Burger is great. Good flavour, the crispy around the edges makes it a good bite. Rudy sauce is also good. Buns are nice and fluffy. Fries are fresh and tasty with gravy. But..... I'm not sure why I pay $2.70 for 3 ounces of gravy made from powder.

Look at all those layers !!! Tried Rudy recently and we were NOT disappointed We got the following: - Big Rudy: Fully dressed with two beef patties, 3 slices of buns, Rudy Sauce, shredded lettuce, cheese, pickles and onion - Valentino: Fried chicken sandwich with slaw, house-made Valentino sauce and mild hot sauce Both burgers were super filling, thick and SAUCY just the way they should be :P Big thank you to the restaurant staff for letting me in to take some bomb pics since it was already dark outside lol Unfortunately the location these pics were taken at (Duncan street) caught on a sudden fire the next day, all staff exited safely however the restaurant is now closed for repairs :( Here's wishing them good vibes and a quick recovery! Will visit when y'all are up and running bigger and better :) All 3 other locations are still open and running to satisfy all your burger/fried chicken sando cravings in the meanwhile! So what are you waiting for ?! Check them out y'all :)

This place has the reputation of having the best burgers in town. I'm not sure it is the best but it is definitely up there. We bought the Rude Dude (double cheeseburger) Tatooed (bacon) for $9.69 + $1.99. The $0.69 ending is because their address is 69. I would have expected a double cheeseburger to look thicker but it wasn't. The burger edges were a little too charred for my liking but the inside was extremely juicy. The bacon was generous. Inside there is counter seating for 4 people but outside there is bench seating for 6-8 more people (If the weather is good). They are slowly adding to their menu with poutine and more recently Valentino (fried chicken sandwich). There is no WiFi or washrooms.

Menu sign, no seating inside just some standing area outside to eat.

Good burger and poutine, burger was on the salty side, but was balanced out by the poutine, as that wasn't overly salty. Also, kind of wish there were some condiment options. Maybe a BBQ sauce or something similar, the burger needed a bit more imo.

Rudy's patio to be downtown.

Quick friendly service right off Queen St. downtown in Toronto, for some great fast food. The burgers are famous here, and a tip from a Yelper from Montreal says that they don't use the usual beef gravy in their poutine, which cool for vegetarians. We got fries and the chicken sammie. The burgers and Sammies are on the small side so keep this in mind if you are hungry. The chicken comes combined with Cole slaw and delicious! There's a sauce on the side for dipping too. The chicken is tasty and properly seasoned, with chunks of nice white meat, a real treat! The fries are the skinny, McD style, but curiously lacked salt when we got them. Fries without salt are like eggs without bacon, something definitely missing there. I figured they are going on the theory that you can always add salt, but can't remove it? Anyway, keep that in mind when you order as you can ask them to add salt, or get some on the side to do your own thing. The milkshakes at RUDY never disappoint, although your bill will reflect your indulgences making you realize you are in Toronto and not in small town Ontario where milkshakes are no big deal. Regardless, RUDY has a good formula, and one not to mess with. Recommended!

First of all 8 dollar milkshakes are garbage. I got milk and chocolate sauce at home and burgers are thin and tasteless. Will not be back..

The I Heart Butter Tart Concrete ($6.49) that I ordered was a little too much for myself. I did decide to go through and finish the ice cream / sundae just so I don't have anything to go. The interior of the place was properly though out and well designed. Self order stations are available to order from and the ordering interface is one of the better systems I have seen. When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

I couldn't let the opportunity pass. The dining space? Bright, clean, inviting. Modern but casual. Off to a genuinely good start. And then... things went south. I ordered the peri-peri chicken with two sides. The wait was excruciating. Not just long--confusing. Every single person who ordered after me was eating while I sat there wondering if my ticket got lost in another country. When the chicken finally arrived, I was stunned--and not in a good way. Easily the smallest leg/thigh combo I've ever seen. Yes, I'm used to USA-sized, GMO-filled chickens, but I've eaten plenty overseas. This wasn't "European portioning." This was kiddie-sized. Flavor? Underwhelming. Forgettable. Nothing that made me pause, nothing that lingered. For a place built on peri-peri heat and personality, this was shockingly flat. I can get chicken with more punch at my local Grocery & Go. The mac and cheese had decent texture--the breadcrumbs did their job--but flavor-wise? Completely bland. Zero soul. The fries? Although well seasoned, we're like warm. Overhyped things rarely deliver, and Nando's sadly fits the bill. Massive disappointment is the phrase that keeps coming to mind

The one guy serving the entire dining room (ponytail and arm tats and piercings) is the reason I'm writing this review. He was accommodating and super friendly and went out of his way for me more than couple of times in my one visit. I really appreciated him. Thank you, whoever you are! The ambiance was good - it felt comfortable, clean and friendly. The set up was a bit weird on first glance: sit, scan, and the order is served out to you (they also have take-out). The condiments were self-serve - the small containers to put sauces in made it hard to put it on your food though. I waited for 3 people to come and go at the station before I even attempted to get my hoisin and hot sauce. Individual bottles at the table would be better. More seating needed for sure! Overall, this was a good resto for a quick vietnamese food. Glad I stopped in. Hope they stick around for the long haul.

This restaurant chain introduced the "Chinese Hamburger" in a crispy bun to Toronto back in 2021-05-23 (soft opening). Very tasty indeed! Plus, they have a wide variety of appetizers. The two owners are from China. The brand was founded in Beijing on 2014-04-08 and now has over 65 locations in Beijing. The Chinese Hamburger is called Rou Jia Mo (肉夹馍) in Chinese, which literally translates to "meat in a bun". It is the cuisine of China's Shaanxi province, which has the capital city of Xi'An (or Xian), where you find the terracotta warriors. For Chinese hamburgers, there are two types of buns: crispy and non-crispy. Most restaurants use the non-crispy buns but Bingz is the only restaurant in the GTA that uses the baked crispy buns.
