There is no seating at this location, so if you are planning on ordering and then waiting, keep in mind fbaf Rudy is pretty slow at making their burgers and you might have to wait in rough weather. Love a good rudy on a late night run or mid day break! this particular location doesn't have indoor seating, so it's nice to swing by when the weather is good and take your meal to go. the fries are done in beef tallow and you can taste the difference! staff are friendly and work hard. read more

I was excited to come eat here because I was told it was amazing and they couldn't stop raving about it. It was disappointing in almost all respects. There is no seating at this location, you can't even go inside. You order from a window and wait on the side of the street until it's ready. So there's little overhead when it comes to seating, cleaning up after customers, etc. That is fine and understandable yet they're asking for tips to take your order while you stand outside and wait. The order in question: two burgers, two drinks and fries. I was given 1 napkin for all of that. Just one napkin. The burgers were small, just a bit bigger than a slider but thin and they were overcooked and burnt all around the edges. The fries were fine, golden and crispy but served in a small bag for $5. I was put on to this place by one of my close friends who actually lives out in Brampton. He told me that when he comes into downtown Toronto, this is usually one of his go-to burger spots. One day, as lunchtime was about to start, I hopped on Yelp and realized that this location was within walking distance of my workplace. When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was that ordering was done at a pickup window a la one of those classic hole-in-the-walls systems. There were maybe 2 groups ahead of me. In the span of 15 mins, the area in front of the window became chaotic after I ordered. I got a Crudy combo which came w/ poutine (opted for regular fries instead of the poutine) and a drink. The burger included 2 smash patties, cheese, fried onions, pickles and rudy sauce. The fries are shoestring variety (they were average tasting). At the cashier's recommendation, I got a chocolate shake to round off. My friend wasn't wrong. This was one of the best smash burgers I've EVER consumed. The patties were oh so crispy/caramelized and onions were layered between the patties for even distribution in every bite. I also liked that while the patties were pressed for the crispy edges, they still retained enough thickness. I've eaten some smash burgers where they press the patties so flat that they basically turn into crepes instead of patties and lack mouthfeel. The buns were super pillowy. While the burger WAS insane, I paid close to $30 for 3 items!!! Priced themselves JUST like Shake Shack at Dundas Square. Do I think the combo altogether was worth $30? Not a chance. My friend also told me the price has sadly spiked tremendously for no reason in the last year. I will definitely return for a burger once in a while but will probably skip out on anything else due to the astronomical prices for the sides and drinks. 5 stars for the burger quality (prolly just a 3 star rating in terms of value). read more

The Rudy Mac is an off menu item. A fantastic take on both a Big Mac and smashburger. One of the best I've had in T.O. The fries were definitely disappointing and anemic. I always walk by Rudy and see a long line or a lot of people standing around waiting for their order. So I was curious and finally ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers one day. It was definitely a solid burger, but I didn't think it was materially better than Burger's Priest (my usual go to downtown). This place has the reputation of having the best burgers in town. I'm not sure it is the best but it is definitely up there. We bought the Rude Dude (double cheeseburger) Tatooed (bacon) for $9.69 + $1.99. The $0.69 ending is because their address is 69. I would have expected a double cheeseburger to look thicker but it wasn't. The burger edges were a little too charred for my liking but the inside was extremely juicy. The bacon was generous. Inside there is counter seating for 4 people but outside there is bench seating for 6-8 more people (If the weather is good). Quick friendly service right off Queen St. downtown in Toronto, for some great fast food. The burgers are famous here, and a tip from a Yelper from Montreal says that they don't use the usual beef gravy in their poutine, which cool for vegetarians. We got fries and the chicken sammie. The burgers and Sammies are on the small side so keep this in mind if you are hungry. The chicken comes combined with Cole slaw and delicious! There's a sauce on the side for dipping too. The chicken is tasty and properly seasoned, with chunks of nice white meat, a real treat! The fries are the skinny, McD style, but curiously lacked salt when we got them. Fries without salt are like eggs without bacon, something definitely missing there. I figured they are going on the theory that you can always add salt, but can't remove it? Anyway, keep that in mind when you order as you can ask them to add salt, or get some on the side to do your own thing. The milkshakes at RUDY never disappoint, although your bill will reflect your indulgences making you realize you are in Toronto and not in small town Ontario where milkshakes are no big deal. This spot's burger was out of this world, when my colleague told me to come here for the best burger in Toronto, he was right. We went in after seeing a movie at TIFF and the shop is setup for a grab and go style. The burgers were so juicy, and crunchy, plus Rudys sauce gives it that extra mile of deliciousness, and I highly recommend having it with your fries if you get fries. These burgers are the real deal. I ordered a double cheeseburger and fries via UberEats. I'm one of those picky eaters that likes to customize the s**t out of my meals, so I was a bit unhappy to see the 4 menu items and lack of customization offered by RUDY, but after biting into my burger, I understood why. After getting a burger and fries from RUDY this afternoon, I decided that this place is too good to be four stars, so I'm updating my review to five. I got the Rude Dude Burger, my wife got the Rudy Burger and we shared an order of fries. I just love the patty - where else can you find a homemade burger that is completely crispy around the edges but still manages to be juicy in the middle? In addition to the unbelievable patty, the bun is super soft, the cheese adds some nice flavour, the lettuce and tomato are fresh and the Rudy Sauce is just awesome. As to be expected for a double cheeseburger, it was pretty heavy. The Rudy Burger wasn't as heavy and had the ingredients more evening proportioned, making for a more balanced bite. I actually prefer the Rudy Burger because of this but it usually isn't filling enough for me so I tend to go with the Rude Dude. The fries are kind of soggy but it doesn't even matter because they just taste so damn good. Like I said in my previous review, they're like a superior version of MacDonalds fries and the portion size is huge. Possibly my favourite burger in the city. Highly recommended. Went with all the guys from work who all ordered the Ruse Dude with fries except one guy ordered the burger and the chicken sandwich. I ordered the chicken sandwich. Since it's basically a takeout place, we took our food back to the office to chow down on. All you could hear were moans of pleasure. I can't say anything about the burger but damn that chicken sandwich was good. Lightly seasoned and breaded with sides of hot sauce and ranch dip. (Be sure to put both on that sandwich) small bun, so it's only there to hold the meat on. Chicken was crazy juicy and I good. Just heard from a friend a 3rd location is opening close to my home on the Danforth. This is SO great, yet SO bad. Based on an UberEats...meh So the food was cold when it arrived which ok can be put down to Uber as they are awful in general but the worst point was the way Rudy had packed there food...sticking 3 burgers and 2 fries into 1 bag with drinks caused for everything to be squashed together and no doubt helped to the food being cold! RUDY makes cheeseburgers the way I like them - the bun is soft and chewy, patty is juicy, and cheese is melted. The burgers here are definitely reminiscent of the ones at Shake Shack and Shake Shack is my all time favourite place for burgers. Menu is very simple - they have cheeseburgers, a chicken sandwich, fries/poutine, pop, and milkshakes. The regular cheeseburger is a bit on the smaller side so if you are hungry you're better off getting the double. You can add bacon for an extra charge. My girlfriend and I came here for a quick burger and poutine before a movie at Scotiabank theatre. This location is only a takeaway spot with a few chairs that face the window. I ordered the off menu special Rude Mac. This is basically a Big Mac clone. My girlfriend ordered the poutine.  Our food came out pretty quickly. My girlfriend enjoyed her poutine. I was able to take a few bites. The gravy could use a bit more zip but, it contained a lot of cheese curds which is nice. My Rude Mac was fantastic definitely one of the best burgers I've had in Toronto. The griddled patty is nice and crispy while still being juicy. The special sauce gave it that great Big Mac flavor. The bun was also nice and fluffy.  I enjoy Rudy's. Its defiantly one of the top burger joints in the city. The only issue I had was the lack of air conditioning. It was hotter inside the restaurant then outside. They need to better ventilate and add air conditioning. For that I do drop a mark and it gets a 4 out of 5. read more

A 4 item menu was all it took to get Rudy 4 stars in my book. This location only serves cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers, poutine and fries. I ended got: - The Rudy: A simple cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes and "Rudy sauce". While basic, it was really good - the party was nice and greasy, the buns were properly "squished", and the sauce had just a tinge of sweetness to it. That said, it was really small for $6.50. - The poutine: Much has been made about how good this is and I kinda agree. A generous heaping of gravy and cheese curds, and fries that retained their crisp despite all this oozing goodness. I would have preferred a dollup less gravy and a tad more curd, but this was close to as good as it gets. Great spot for a quick bite. Eschews the spinning variety of burger options in other places for a straightforward good ol' classic burger and poutine. And Rudy definitely comes out a winner because of it. read more
