Unfortunately, there's no Yelp page for the location in Mississauga because hands down the MISSISSAUGA location is the BEST one. I actually went to this location as my first time, and it was an okay experience. I thought it was a very small, narrow space - and the food I had was cooked properly but personal opinion, the food I had did not suite my taste. I find the Mississauga location much more modern, spacious, and the service was much better. I find the staff more personable to be honest. Parking is quite limited on the side street, the first 15 minutes are free - but this place is worthwhile, so it's a must try. read more

I thought it was quite good! The spare ribs were falling off the bone, and the two sides (Mac and cheese and baked beans) were flavourful and comforting. It's very easy for the bill to climb - we split the main and two sides between the two of us (absolutely enough food, by the way), and it came out to $30/person. read more

I was curious about this place because of the high ratings. I am excited to say this will be my go-to smokehouse BBQ spot! Bonus: it is conveniently accessible by TTC near Dupont Station. Make sure to call in to book a reservation before dining in. Food: The Triples 'For Two' (offers three meats) was plenty enough for 2 people. I would say if you want to eat til 80% full, this can be shared amoung 3 people. If you cannot finish the platter, you can always take it home to save for later. I ate my leftovers the next day and they were just as delicious after warming up in the microwave. The brisket and short ribs were smoked just right - will come back for these meats again. The beef back ribs were sold out so we opted for the chicken. I thought the chicken was on the dry side (I ate them last and by that time they were no longer warm) but eating it warmed up at home made it taste better. The cornbread was so good, it was sweet, soft, and crumbly - I think one of the best I ever tasted. Sweet (potato) fries were crisp and seasoned well. My friend had the Pulled Beef Sandwich for $11 and enjoyed it immensely. Service: The staff here are attentive and so kind. The food here is delicious I was pleasantly satisfied We ordered the triple platter that comes with three different meats two sides as well as cornbread garlic bread and side salad, they describe it as a triple because it's meant for three people we split it between 4 people and we still had a leftovers to take home. We had a presbyterian with us so we also ordered the smoke shrimp. For the meats my favorite were the beefs, the beef rib was so tender and the barbecue sauce they use was not overpowering, the brisket was tender as well as usual but for some reason the rib won my heart. My least favorite was the chicken I didn't find that it was anything you need, but it also didn't taste bad same thing with the shrimp it tasted good but it wasn't anything you need or wow. If you visit order the beef you will not be disappointed. For the sides the cornbread was so tasty everybody agreed that it was so unique it was sweet it was soft and warm inside but then crispy on the edges and then it had a little bit of spice, as if there was jalapenos in there. Next we would say the mac and cheese, it was so creamy and cheesy but also flavorful. The least memorable would be the curly fries and salad LOL Overall everyone at my table said that they would definitely visit again the patio is super cute and we were lucky to get a very nice day in October to sit out there and enjoy it, the waiter we had he was a very kind and patient. read more

These folks are always busy but also so friendly! Would recommend getting a reservation before going and making sure you're on time because there's always a line up. I waited 45 mins before getting a table for 2. The space is small. The food is great. We got the doubles backyard platter and honestly, it was more than enough! October 13/2021: This was a great experience. Small restaurant not far from Casa Loma but it's a solid restaurant to say! We are on a small outdoor deck that was newly built as everything was secure. I ordered the Beef Brisket Sliders. They came with a mini side of beef brisket & some pickled onions. Awesome slider. Also had the Mac & Cheese (terrific), the Corn Bread, this could use a pick me up, baked beans (in Tomato Sauce). I don't usually like tomato sauce beans but these were good. Great house made BBQ Sauce as well! As a combo meal it was all fantastic. Our server Yahya (John) was very polite & accommodating & did a great job. They had no pork as this was an Arab run restaurant. The chef owner was very nice & easy to talk too. He's doing a stellar job. When we got there they said the brisket was quite ready yet which is a great sign of amazing foods as they have a higher bar for standards. We got to try a huge platter called 'the whole nine yards' which included beef brisket, beef short ribs, beef back ribs, rotisserie chicken, corn bread, garlic bread and vegetables. We also had a bunch of sides which included Mac and cheese, Caesar salad, coleslaw, smoked corn, curly fries and sweet potato fries. The was some of the best bbq I've had in a long time. I had even offered to pay in advance, they said it was not necessary. Beware the menu has many items that are ghosts. They do not nor have they ever had them. Apparently they can not afford to print a corrected menu. They have No honour or integrity!!!! We live 30 minutes away. They said they would call if there was an issue. What a fantastic barbecue joint! We got takeout from these folks earlier this week and we were really blown away by the quality of the food and the sheer amount that we got. We ordered the brisket, short ribs, and bbq'd chicken platter for two. All of the items were perfectly prepared and infused with a smokiness that wasn't overpowering. The dipping sauces ran the gamut from traditional bbq sauce to a unique mustard-based sauce, and all were very tasty. The sides were impressive - Caesar salad, creamy coleslaw, mashed potatoes, corn...the sheer number and quality of the options was pretty amazing. We had enough food for three days, and the price was reasonable for the amount that you get. It's worth noting that the restaurant is halal, so great for anyone who doesn't do pork and has limited options at other bbq joints. We can't wait to order from Backyard Smokehouse again, and to have our friends try it, as well! read more

I don't order brisket often because it often fails. However, Backyard Smokehouse had the best brisket in Toronto and anywhere for that matter. Since we were from the US, they were very concerned about how we liked it. Everything about this place was excellent. The food, the presentation, and the drinks. We had kids with us as well and they loved everything. Brisket plate, brisket sliders, brisket Mac and cheese, and the cole slaw, were great selections for us. Check it out. We were really excited about trying this place after reading all of the reviews. I will say I'm from the states so maybe my expectations for good BBQ are too high but this was a disappointment. We ordered two back rib meals plus the sausage and had mashed potatoes, fries, Mac and cheese and baked beans as our sides. Luckily the ribs were very tender and flavorful but that was the only plus. The sides were not very good at all. The sausage looked like burned and dry breakfast sausage and was basically inedible without tons of some type of sauce and even then it was hard to stomach. Ambiance was non existent and all you could hear was the kitchen music blaring. Would not return and it's a shame because the meat was good but everything else was a huge letdown. Good bbq just isn't complete with terrible sides. They also don't have a liquor license which isn't a huge deal but good to know going in. Making good barbecue is hard. Running a restaurant during a pandemic is hard. I hesitated to write this review but after my second interaction with the management here I felt it was necessary. I placed a simple order for a pound of brisket, nothing fancy. The order took 20+ minutes to get to me. Brisket was dry and rubbery, most of the fat had melted away and it took a lot of chewing to swallow the first bite. The presentation was horrible. Brisket is meant to be thinly sliced and in individual pieces. This was dry and shredded, almost like the mystery brown meat you get at cheap shawarma or gyro spots at 3 am when there's nothing else open. A few pieces had the ring visible but the overall flavour was NOTHING like classic Southern barbecue. It was too salty on the outside, bland on the inside and lacked that natural smoky flavour you want from real barbecue. Here is the worst part. My brisket was topped with... arugula, weird pickles and roasted peppers, onions and some other veggies. It was almost as if they knew their brisket was horrible and they were trying to camouflage it into some fusion brisket medley. Long story short, I took a few bites trying to find a single nibble that didn't taste like rubber, no luck. I walked back and returned their catastrophic medley of foods only to have the management not take my feedback seriously for the first few minutes. I was eventually offered store credit that I declined. I'm definitely not coming back and if anything, I want a refund for the abysmal meal. Seriously, try the barbecue spots near The Beaches or Etobicoke and you will know what I'm talking about. I have tried almost every barbecue spot in the GTA and not a single one has set my expectations this high and delivered such a horrible meal. Their website claims a 30 day aging process to achieve classic southern barbecue but I assure you this is nothing like the real thing. read more
