The cashier was very patient while we decided what to order. 1 lb smoked wings dinner with Chicago roadhouse sauce: sauce and wings are separate. The smoke on the wings was tasty. Can be a little dry but good. With the sauce, it made it great. Received 9 wings for the pound. Fries - very good. Me and a friend were craving some nice barbecue. We have not visited this place in a long time. So we came by to eat. Service was very good super nice. Took time to explain. The restaurant itself not too many seats, but the booth that we sat in was quite comfortable. No complaints there. All over our food fit. Ribs - 8/10 very nicely, smoked ribs not fall off the bone and it was slightly salty. But definitely hit the spot. Wings original smoked- 9/10 very good wings. If only it wasn't as expensive. Basically fall off the bone no issues good smoke flavor through the entire thing. Overall, really good experience would come back and try the brisket in the future at the table. Dropped by to welcome a friend back to Canada, and this place delivered more than we expected. We went in on the Party Pack 4, which came with a full rack, 1 lb wings with their signature BBQ sauce, 1 lb pulled pork, coleslaw, beans, fries, cornbread, and a tub of sauce. On top of that, we added Pig Skins and a pound of pulled brisket just because we couldn't help ourselves. To my taste, things leaned a bit saucy overall, but wow, the balance was something else. Ribs just fell apart with a bite, no knife needed. Pulled pork and brisket weren't overly tender like some others, but still super satisfying and kind of addictive once you get into it. Wings and fries hit the mark, no need to overthink. Pig Skins were a great suggestion from the server too, no regrets there. Even though it seemed like only one person was running the floor, service was attentive and easygoing. No lineup, quick turnaround, and just good vibes. Just enjoyed a beef brisket with fries and beans.. What a treat. The fries were perfectly crispy and soft inside. The brisket was tender.. no chewiness or any of that.. you barely needed to bite it apart.. The BBQ special sauce was also good. Even toward the end of the sandwich when it was more absorbed into the bread , it still came through and didn't allow for any dryness to take over. Not many places serving this cuisine in Markham but they did it well! the place is a bit small for seating so if youre planning to dine in - be sure to call ahead! Deserves 3.5 stars. Came to this establishment yesterday for pick up because mr. Tran was craving ribs. Called and made an order for party pack 3 which included 2 racks of ribs, 2 lbs wings, fries, beans, coleslaw, cornbread and house bbq sauce on the side. For the sauce on the wings we got wicked and 911. Lady told us it would be ready within 30mins. Picked up our order and the lady on the phone gave us two drinks for free which was super sweet of her. She was shocked that the order was just for the two of us (we eat with our eyes...not with our stomach clearly). She also warned us about the 911 sauce on the wings as it's super spicy, but we clearly did not listen, as our spice tolerance to spicy foods are extremely high (I tell mr. Tran all the time I should be on "hot ones" cause it looks stupid easy lol). Anyway, we open up the goodies and I went for the wings first and of course the 911 one. Taste wise it's tasted like burnt chili peppers, it doesn't hit you on the spot it gradually hits you like a slap in the face. For the first 30 seconds the tip on my tongue felt like it was going to fall off, but I soldiered through it and was able to eat 3 911 wings. The wicked wings sauce was good, but not spicy. It was like a buffalo sauce- a lil spicy, a touch a vinegary tartness, I enjoyed it. The sides: Coleslaw was okay. I can make better. Beans I really enjoyed. Especially when you dip cornbread in it. Cornbread, I'm usually not a big fan as I find them dry and not so good, but this corn bread was really good and not dry. So thumbs up for the cornbread. Fries smelled so good on the car ride back home, but when we got home it got soggy, but it's okay. Fries were your typical fries, a bit of air frying brought it back to life! Ribs now. I expected ribs to be tender, soft and maybe fall off the bone a little. This was not the case. It was a little tough, not what I'm used to, I honestly ate like 2 pieces, it had a little bit of that unpleasant porky flavour aftertaste that I do not like, but mr. Tran love ribs so he ate half a rack himself drenched in their house bbq. Finally got around to trying this place. I always love BBQ places and just that kind of food in general so was pretty pumped. Came on a Monday which coincided with their monday special. Was going to order a party pack since there was a bit of everything but was recommended by our server that the monday special offers drastically better value so we opted for 3 of those for 6 people. Each monday special has 1 full rack of ribs, 1 lb of wings and large fries. I thought the ribs were actually subpar. They weren't the fall off the bone, juicy kind of ribs I was expecting. Good flavour but kind of tough. The wings on the other hand were actually very very good. We tried honey garlic and spicy bbq. While I liked the honey garlic one better, both were pretty excellent. The fries were the Costco-style fries and they were solid. Wish the ribs matched the wings in terms of quality, which would've easily been a 4 star review. It's finally Wednesday, and guess what? Big Bone BBQ offers Beef ribs today! Wednesday Special Beef Ribs: A full rack of ribs (6-7 Pieces) with a side of fries, small coleslaw, small smoked beans, and a slice of cornbread. *I actually ended up upgrading my fries to the poutine.* The beef ribs are massive compared to the regular pork ribs. The beef bones are absolutely massive. It felt like I was given ribs from the ice age. The ribs are great when eaten hot. The beef itself is juicy and fatty. They're coated with a rich smokey , savoury, and with a little tang, BBQ Sauce. The sides: The Coleslaw is creamy and simple, which is perfect to refresh yourself from the bbq train. The Smoked Beans are thick and... you guessed it, smokey where you faintly taste the molasses at the back of your palette. The Corn Bread was deceiving tasty and highly underrated. I did find myself fighting with the ribs a few times. As great as the ribs are with their bbq sauce, it would be amazing if they were smoked longer so they're closer towards the "fall off the bone" spectrum. They were a little tough at times where trying to get the meat off the bones got a little tricky, specifically towards the thicker end of the rib bone. The beef ribs did looked fuller than they actually are, thanks to the mammoth bones hiding under the meat. We enjoyed our recent visit during the weekend for a late Sunday lunch. Our server was lovely, efficient and very nice even though she was taking care of multiple tables, answering the phone and manning the front counter all by herself. We ordered the big bone meal (with a poutine upgrade) and added on a small garden salad so that we wouldn't die from the protein overload. It was enough to feed two adults plus provide a box of leftovers. Great portion size!! We both really enjoyed the smoked chicken wings, the flavor was great and had plenty of smoked flavor. I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time and it was very good. The place is a little hole in the wall type of restaurant but the atmosphere was very friendly. We ordered the Monday Special and the portions were huge. We ended up with leftovers for the next day! We made a mistake to not inform them we were dining in, but they ended up rushing our order once we realized the mistake was made. Located sneakily beside the giant Loblaws, you'd think this place was a little take-out joint. Nope, it's got a fully functioning restaurant inside with a surprising amount of seating and someone actually taking orders. I'm sure I'll take advantage of this one day, but on Superbowl weekend, we decided it was entirely appropriate to get take-out. (Actually, it was just a coincidence). We got Party Pack 5 which included 3 racks of ribs, 2 lbs. of wings, 2 lbs. of pulled pork, cornbread, fries, baked beans, and coleslaw. We also threw in 2 salads to make ourselves feel better. At a total of $140, we fed 8 people with leftovers! The ribs were of the chewier variety, not the fall-off-the-bone type, but it had great smoky flavour. The wings were fried perfection. We picked Dry Cajun and Hot Creamy Parm, and both were wiped out before half of the guests arrived. Fashionably late doesn't cut it when there's BBQ on the line. The fries were Costco fries and were understandably a little soggy after the ride home. Surprise favourites of mine were the baked beans (sweet and hearty) and cornbread (nice and dense). The ratio between the 'flimsy' (I love the flimsy ones), croutons, and bacon bits was pretty solid. Could use less dressing but it was good. Wings (smoked): 9/10 They were some big, juicy wings with a really nice smoky flavour. Solid wings but could be done with a little less char. Onion rings: 6.5/10 The batter was nice and crispy, but the onion rings were pretty skinny for my liking. Ribs: 7/10 The smoky flavour was nice but it could use a little bit more sauce. And I found most of the meat to be a bit tough. I had to work for it to bite off the meat. Brisket: 7.5/10 Good brisket but drenched in sauce with some oil floating around. The brisket could be more tender as well. I'd like to come back again to see if the ribs was a one off thing. I'd also like to try the beef ribs that they have on Wednesdays. Our server was Stacey and she cheerfully greeted and seated us at one of the tables. Booth or patio seating were the other options. Got take out from here with my relatives since my cousin kept raving about it. We got the party pack 5 meal- honey garlic wings, buffalo wings, pulled pork and ribs. The combo also came with cornbread, beans, coleslaw and fries. This fed about 12 people (but we added our own smoked ham and rotisserie chicken as well). For the ribs, I expected the meat to fall of the bones but for us... it did not. It was also dry. However, there was A LOT of meat. The order comes with your option of garden salad, cesar salad, fries, or onion wings. The wings were absolutely delicious and worth the $13! The boyfriend ordered the 5 ribs meal that came with cornbread, beans, coleslaw and the option of salads, fries, or onion rings. The seasoning was great and it was very well marinated however the cut of meat was poor. I was expecting fall of the bone meat but it was more rough than tender. The tables set up with your own roll of paper towels, wet wipes, ketchup, salt and pepper, and vinegar. Service was pleasant despite how busy it was. [SERVICE] - 4/5 The staff are very down-to-earth, funny, and personable. We had trouble flagging down a server for our bill, but we knew they were very busy because we visited them on Victoria Day. [DÉCOR] - 5/5 The wooden chairs and picnic-esque tables made me feel like I was at an actual outdoor BBQ while staying inside, and away from things that can trigger my allergies.
