Went early evening so was not busy. On entry, we received a warm welcome. The cashier was very patient while we decided what to order. 1 lb smoked wings dinner with Chicago roadhouse sauce: sauce and wings are separate. The smoke on the wings was tasty. Can be a little dry but good. With the sauce, it made it great. Received 9 wings for the pound. Fries - very good. Crispy on the outside and tender inside. 1/2 slab ribs dinner: should be 6 ribs - received 8 (a small size). Whoop! The meat was tender and good flavour. Cold slaw: on the sweet side but good. Cornbread: moist and good. Service was very attentive. read more

Me and a friend were craving some nice barbecue. We have not visited this place in a long time. So we came by to eat. Service was very good super nice. Took time to explain. The restaurant itself not too many seats, but the booth that we sat in was quite comfortable. No complaints there. All over our food fit. Ribs - 8/10 very nicely, smoked ribs not fall off the bone and it was slightly salty. But definitely hit the spot. Wings original smoked- 9/10 very good wings. If only it wasn't as expensive. Basically fall off the bone no issues good smoke flavor through the entire thing. Overall, really good experience would come back and try the brisket in the future at the table. Next to us said some good things about that and the pulled pork. read more

Dropped by to welcome a friend back to Canada, and this place delivered more than we expected. We went in on the Party Pack 4, which came with a full rack, 1 lb wings with their signature BBQ sauce, 1 lb pulled pork, coleslaw, beans, fries, cornbread, and a tub of sauce. On top of that, we added Pig Skins and a pound of pulled brisket just because we couldn't help ourselves. To my taste, things leaned a bit saucy overall, but wow, the balance was something else. Ribs just fell apart with a bite, no knife needed. Pulled pork and brisket weren't overly tender like some others, but still super satisfying and kind of addictive once you get into it. Wings and fries hit the mark, no need to overthink. Pig Skins were a great suggestion from the server too, no regrets there. Even though it seemed like only one person was running the floor, service was attentive and easygoing. No lineup, quick turnaround, and just good vibes. Only wish the AC was working a bit stronger, but honestly, when the food hits this well, you kinda forget the rest. Already planning to come back so I can go deeper into the sauces and maybe build my own plate next time. Real solid spot. read more

Came here for some delicious Western style bbq! Not many places serving this cuisine in Markham but they did it well! the place is a bit small for seating so if youre planning to dine in - be sure to call ahead! We went with a group of 7 and went with the party pack 3 and 1/2 lbs of brisket and pulled pork! In total, it was about $21/person and was super filling and tasty! It came with wings, ribs, fries, and some sides. for the wings, we went with honey garlic and the parmesean sauce! Overall found everything super tasty and delicious! My favourites had to be between the brisket or the ribs. But overall, all of it was pretty good. And not too pricey either! they have a tuesday deal I'd be willing to come back for to try as well! $34 for a lb of pulled pork, wings, and some fries! read more

Just enjoyed a beef brisket with fries and beans.. What a treat. The fries were perfectly crispy and soft inside. The brisket was tender.. no chewiness or any of that.. you barely needed to bite it apart.. The BBQ special sauce was also good. Even toward the end of the sandwich when it was more absorbed into the bread , it still came through and didn't allow for any dryness to take over. I'm not out here often but will try to make a point to come by more often when I have the opportunity I'd easily recommend it to others to try read more

Got the BIG BONE COMBO and it was more than enough to feed 2 people. - Substituted the fries for onion rings - Chicago Roadhouse flavour wings were a hit! The wings were bigger than expected and crispy despite being covered in sauce - Ribs had a very smokey flavour. They did not "fall off the bone" as much as I had anticipated based on other people's reviews, but they were still enjoyable! The staff were very nice, attentive, and approachable. Overall atmosphere is very casual. read more

Wow!!! The ribs melt in your mouth and the wings have such good flavour. We swapped out the regular fries for sweet potatoes without an issue and they were perfect. Deserves 3.5 stars. Came to this establishment yesterday for pick up because mr. Tran was craving ribs. Called and made an order for party pack 3 which included 2 racks of ribs, 2 lbs wings, fries, beans, coleslaw, cornbread and house bbq sauce on the side. For the sauce on the wings we got wicked and 911. Lady told us it would be ready within 30mins. Picked up our order and the lady on the phone gave us two drinks for free which was super sweet of her. She was shocked that the order was just for the two of us (we eat with our eyes...not with our stomach clearly). She also warned us about the 911 sauce on the wings as it's super spicy, but we clearly did not listen, as our spice tolerance to spicy foods are extremely high (I tell mr. Tran all the time I should be on "hot ones" cause it looks stupid easy lol). Anyway, we open up the goodies and I went for the wings first and of course the 911 one. Taste wise it's tasted like burnt chili peppers, it doesn't hit you on the spot it gradually hits you like a slap in the face. For the first 30 seconds the tip on my tongue felt like it was going to fall off, but I soldiered through it and was able to eat 3 911 wings. The wicked wings sauce was good, but not spicy. It was like a buffalo sauce- a lil spicy, a touch a vinegary tartness, I enjoyed it. The sides: Coleslaw was okay. I can make better. Beans I really enjoyed. Especially when you dip cornbread in it. Cornbread, I'm usually not a big fan as I find them dry and not so good, but this corn bread was really good and not dry. So thumbs up for the cornbread. Fries smelled so good on the car ride back home, but when we got home it got soggy, but it's okay. Fries were your typical fries, a bit of air frying brought it back to life! Ribs now. I expected ribs to be tender, soft and maybe fall off the bone a little. This was not the case. It was a little tough, not what I'm used to, I honestly ate like 2 pieces, it had a little bit of that unpleasant porky flavour aftertaste that I do not like, but mr. Tran love ribs so he ate half a rack himself drenched in their house bbq. Portions are huge, and we were unable to eat everything obviously, but it'll be good to have again for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Would come back again when it's during their Monday mania. read more

Finally got around to trying this place. I always love BBQ places and just that kind of food in general so was pretty pumped. Came on a Monday which coincided with their monday special. Was going to order a party pack since there was a bit of everything but was recommended by our server that the monday special offers drastically better value so we opted for 3 of those for 6 people. Each monday special has 1 full rack of ribs, 1 lb of wings and large fries. I thought the ribs were actually subpar. They weren't the fall off the bone, juicy kind of ribs I was expecting. Good flavour but kind of tough. The wings on the other hand were actually very very good. We tried honey garlic and spicy bbq. While I liked the honey garlic one better, both were pretty excellent. The fries were the Costco-style fries and they were solid. Wish the ribs matched the wings in terms of quality, which would've easily been a 4 star review. But when the ribs don't hit the spot at a BBQ place...damn. Would give them a shot again (on mondays) to see if it's just that night. read more

We're always looking to try bbq places in Toronto to see what's out there. We got takeout from here on a recommendation. Service: Food was prepared and ready on time. Food: Ribs - amazing. Has a great bbq flavor, light on the sauce, nice char. It's pretty tender and juicy with great flavor. 5/5. Chicken wings - so depending on what sauce you get, not all the wings are bbq'ed. We got honey garlic which was fried wings. The signature bbq had a light sweetness and spice, decent char. Both types of wings were flavorful and moist. 4.5/5. Would definitely try their other flavors if I get a chance. Pulled pork - admittedly, I'm not a big fan of pulled pork but I really enjoyed this. It was moist, had a nice sweetness. 4/5. Fries - they seemed like Costco fries. Nothing amazing but not terrible. Your rating probably depends if you like Costco fries. I'll give it a 2.5/5 to take the middle of road. Coleslaw - classic creamy style coleslaw, pieces are cut into cubes rather than julienne. Overall, hits the spot. 3.5/5. Baked beans - soft, moist, sweet, smooth. Good classic bbq side. 3.5/5. Price: Compared to other bbq places, this is probably comparable price wise. read more

Excellent BBQ joint in Markham. If you're looking for a heavy but tasty classic BBQ spot in the area, look no further. Hidden away on Bullock, Big Bone will be pretty easy to spot once you're there but isn't the first spot you'd think to put a restaurant (all good as I bet takeout is a big portion of the biz, even before covid). Generous portions and good value for what you get. I loved the beef brisket, ribs and pulled pork. Wings, fries and sides were to standard so nothing crazy to note. If you order the party packages, you'll get a TON of sauce. Good packing (ordered during covid era). Won't be having it everyday, but if I'm craving bbq, this will be my go-to in the area. read more

This little place serves up some pretty kick butt ribs! They have a wide variety of sauces for the ribs. Other options include chicken wings, pulled pork and bbq beef bones. I used to live near here and would get their Monday special with pretty good pricing. The service here is fast. The restaurant is located in an industrial area, but they hold their own place with a good amount of parking, but not too many seating inside the joint. Definitely would recommend this place if you want to grab a rack of ribs and head home to enjoy with whatever beverage suits your palate. read more

We ordered the party pack 5. That included 3 full racks of ribs 2 lbs of wings and 2lbs of pulled pork. Also has coleslaw, beans and cornbread in the combo with extra sauce. We added the brisket as well as it is great. To be honest we enjoyed the brisket and pulled pork more than the ribs. The ribs were a little tougher than the last couple of times we have ordered. Still a great deal and good food. Recommend the brisket and the pulled pork. read more

It's finally Wednesday, and guess what? Big Bone BBQ offers Beef ribs today! Wednesday Special Beef Ribs: A full rack of ribs (6-7 Pieces) with a side of fries, small coleslaw, small smoked beans, and a slice of cornbread. *I actually ended up upgrading my fries to the poutine.* The beef ribs are massive compared to the regular pork ribs. The beef bones are absolutely massive. It felt like I was given ribs from the ice age. The ribs are great when eaten hot. The beef itself is juicy and fatty. They're coated with a rich smokey , savoury, and with a little tang, BBQ Sauce. The sides: The Coleslaw is creamy and simple, which is perfect to refresh yourself from the bbq train. The Smoked Beans are thick and... you guessed it, smokey where you faintly taste the molasses at the back of your palette. The Corn Bread was deceiving tasty and highly underrated. I did find myself fighting with the ribs a few times. As great as the ribs are with their bbq sauce, it would be amazing if they were smoked longer so they're closer towards the "fall off the bone" spectrum. They were a little tough at times where trying to get the meat off the bones got a little tricky, specifically towards the thicker end of the rib bone. The beef ribs did looked fuller than they actually are, thanks to the mammoth bones hiding under the meat. I had a lot of connective tissue ligaments holding the meat onto the bone, which left me wondering "This would be a perfect set of back ribs if only they were fall-off the bone!" read more

Tables were full during lunch after I arrived. Sadly the food I received did not reflect the popularity. Ribs seem to be a mix of dry (older cooked) and newly cooked whereas some are significantly more drier than others..... having had ribs at Mandarins it's hard to justify eating ribs here... wings are weirdly breaded with something dark brown, taste was not amazing... did not finish. Gave good tip as service seems ok read more

We enjoyed our recent visit during the weekend for a late Sunday lunch. Our server was lovely, efficient and very nice even though she was taking care of multiple tables, answering the phone and manning the front counter all by herself. We ordered the big bone meal (with a poutine upgrade) and added on a small garden salad so that we wouldn't die from the protein overload. It was enough to feed two adults plus provide a box of leftovers. Great portion size!! We both really enjoyed the smoked chicken wings, the flavor was great and had plenty of smoked flavor. The ribs were good also, but we tend to be rib snobs......so we've had better. Definitely a great place in the city to get the BBQ fix that we all get sometimes. Come Monday for their ribs special or Tuesday for their pulled pork special! read more

DAT $25 MONDAY DEAL THOOO. Such a good deal. One Monday deal = 2 meals. Worthhhh it for $25. The amount of meat you get is INSANE - it's a meat lover's dream. I believe it's 10 wings (smoked or fried), a rack of ribs, & a side of fries (or onion rings!). We ordered 2 of their Monday special and it was moreee than enough for 4 people split into 2 meals. Wings - Smoked... Fried... They both gucci. Personally I like the smoked ones better but freals, fried was also v good. The smoked wings have a nice smokey taste. The fried wings are fried crispy and tossed in your choice of sauce; we got the Orig BBQ sauce and it was delishh. Ribs - Yo this is a heck of load of meat. These ain't dainty, thin ribs either.... they are thiccccc. Ribs are tender and of course... smokey! But a tadddd bit dry. And they could benefit from a bit more BBQ sauce. For $25, this is a damn good deal because the quality and quantity of meat that you get is amazeingsz. read more

We had some ribs (tasty but a tad on the dry side), wings (dry cajun rub and sauced up jamaican jerk, premade sauces and rub but still juicy and crispy!), fries/poutine (crispy coated probably cavendish or mccains, delicious af though), pulled pork (tasty but also a llittle dry), and some coleslaw and beans. Markham is a sexy city. Haha jk. When do you hear those 5 words ever. Just look at its suburban population, flat landscape, and lack of arguably the sexiest type of food ever: BBQ. Not Korean BBQ, the good ol' fashioned, American, backyard, beer belly style BBQ. Big meat, big sauce, big flavour. In walks Big Bone holding a spatula and hollering, "I got yer back, neighbor!" Located sneakily beside the giant Loblaws, you'd think this place was a little take-out joint. Nope, it's got a fully functioning restaurant inside with a surprising amount of seating and someone actually taking orders. I'm sure I'll take advantage of this one day, but on Superbowl weekend, we decided it was entirely appropriate to get take-out. (Actually, it was just a coincidence). We got Party Pack 5 which included 3 racks of ribs, 2 lbs. of wings, 2 lbs. of pulled pork, cornbread, fries, baked beans, and coleslaw. We also threw in 2 salads to make ourselves feel better. At a total of $140, we fed 8 people with leftovers! The ribs were of the chewier variety, not the fall-off-the-bone type, but it had great smoky flavour. The wings were fried perfection. We picked Dry Cajun and Hot Creamy Parm, and both were wiped out before half of the guests arrived. Fashionably late doesn't cut it when there's BBQ on the line. The fries were Costco fries and were understandably a little soggy after the ride home. Surprise favourites of mine were the baked beans (sweet and hearty) and cornbread (nice and dense). With the significant lack of American BBQ in Markham, Big Bone must be cherished and enjoyed as frequently as possible. You can now host your very own Markham Ribfest wherever, whenever you want! Oh, but you made New Year Resolutions to eat healthier? Well...it's ok, you gave a good effort in January. (6/100) - 2018 read more

Covid 19 review! The ribs and chicken wings here are amazing! It's nicely sauced. The ribs falls off the bone easily and that's how I like them personally. Order the Party Pack 4 which give me a variety to try and was quite disappointed. The pulled pork was really bad... My 2 and 8 year olds agreed and same with my wife. Probably the worst pulled pork I've ever had and definitely worst than what I make at home. The sauce was very ketchup and drenched with it. Almost wanted to puke. The ribs were smokey but dry and not falling off the bone soft. The corn bread I can taste the grains of sugar. The fries, beans, and coleslaw was at least passing. read more

I've been meaning to come here for a while since I heard so many good things about this place. Finally got a chance to come, and I knew I had to do it right. I got the Big Bone BBQ with onion rings, Caesar salad, and Beef brisket. Caesar salad: 9/10 Probably one of the best Caesar salad I've had. The ratio between the 'flimsy' (I love the flimsy ones), croutons, and bacon bits was pretty solid. Could use less dressing but it was good. Wings (smoked): 9/10 They were some big, juicy wings with a really nice smoky flavour. Solid wings but could be done with a little less char. Onion rings: 6.5/10 The batter was nice and crispy, but the onion rings were pretty skinny for my liking. Ribs: 7/10 The smoky flavour was nice but it could use a little bit more sauce. And I found most of the meat to be a bit tough. I had to work for it to bite off the meat. Brisket: 7.5/10 Good brisket but drenched in sauce with some oil floating around. The brisket could be more tender as well. I'd like to come back again to see if the ribs was a one off thing. I'd also like to try the beef ribs that they have on Wednesdays. Overall friendly staff and good food. Would definitely be back for some caesar salad and wings. read more

I've been waiting to try this place for sometime, but never got around to it. We went on a Monday night and was luckily ahead of the dine-in crowd. We ordered the Monday Special and the portions were huge. We ended up with leftovers for the next day! It's a bit smaller than we expected, but you can see how many people there are working hard behind the counter and in the kitchen trying to push out orders. We made a mistake to not inform them we were dining in, but they ended up rushing our order once we realized the mistake was made. The ribs were tasty, the spicy honey garlic wings had a good kick and there was more than enough fries to to make a separate meal. Definitely worth visiting when in the area. Great place for some ribs and wings. I wish they had a nice patio. The interior feels small and dated. The staff working there are super nice. They're friendly and courteous. The wings were unbelievably good. The ribs were ok. I prefer mine juicier, but that's a personal preference. I'd go back for the wings and coleslaw alone. I recommend having a selection of imported beer in bottles or cans to choose from (e.g. Asahi, Tsing Tao, Modelo). This place deserves 5 stars for sure. read more

Got take out from here with my relatives since my cousin kept raving about it. We got the party pack 5 meal- honey garlic wings, buffalo wings, pulled pork and ribs. The combo also came with cornbread, beans, coleslaw and fries. This fed about 12 people (but we added our own smoked ham and rotisserie chicken as well). For the ribs, I expected the meat to fall of the bones but for us... it did not. It was also dry. However, there was A LOT of meat. Looking at other reviews, it seems like the ribs are either a hit or a miss. The wings were good and I appreciated that they had plenty of meat as well. The price is good for the portion they give. (Most) family members enjoyed it all. There are not a lot of American BBQ places around so this spot is definitely the place to go if you are craving it near Markham! read more

Sooooooo gooooooood, the atmosphere was insane! And see the prices, 100 bucks all the family can fully enjoy it!

Weekend lunch for 4. I wasn't impressed with this restaurant. The creamy parmesan chicken wings didn't have much taste and the wings weren't juicy. The Caesar salad was pretty small for $7.50, since the bowl was so shallow. The pulled pork I thought was just average. I've seen better. Their menu is riddled with typo's throughout. The menu's have so many combinations and platters everywhere that it also gets quite confusing. Helloooo Smokey Goodness! I came to Big Bone BBQ last night with a group of friends. I'm still full from last night's dinner. I probably ate more than enough. Their portion sizes are huge. We got the NASHVILLE NACHOS, BBQ CHICKEN SANDWHICH, CHICKEN CLUB SANDWHICH, and PARTY PACK #2. There were 6 of us and we paid about $17 after tax and tips and a drink so really reasonable. The nachos appetizer was HUMONGOUS. It was $12 and came with sour cream, salsa, jalapeno peppers, cheese, and lots and lots of pulled pork. The pork was slightly sweet and delicious. I didn't try to the sandwiches but my friends enjoyed it. I only came for the meat! :P The party pack #2 came with 1 Full Rack, 1 lb Wings, Beans, Coleslaw, Cornbread, Large Fries & Tub of Sauce. It says it would feed 2-3 people but it actually fed 4 of us. We are girls, but we can eat! The ribs is fall of the bone good and smoked in such a lovely way, I just want to savour the smell. We skipped the fried wings and opted for smoked since that's what they're famous for and it was mighty good! 1 lb = 9 pieces The cornbread tasted okay. The texture is more pound cake than traditional corn bread and the beans were a bit too sweet. Coleslaw was fresh, crunchy and delicious. And the fries platter that came with the meal was HUGE! They taste like Costco fries which we love. Few things to note: - Place closes early - at 9 pm every night. - You can get dipping sauces on the side so if you want, you can get your wings naked and then get some of the sauces on the side so you can dunk them in and try a bunch of different flavors at no charge! SWEET! - The service is super friendly! And the vibe is great. - The place itself is kind of small. You really only want to come in groups of up to 4. We had 6 so we waited a bit until we got two tables combined. Most people come in to get take out. read more
