Stopped in for lunch while in the area to do some shopping. The restaurant has a country bbq vibe with country music playing on a big screen tv with sound pumped throughout the restaurant. Wait staff was friendly and took my order promptly. Ordered the beef brisket sandwich chopped style which comes with two sides, I had the mac and cheese and coleslaw. The beef brisket sandwich comes with their signature Kansas City BBQ sauce on top and I garnished with some of my coleslaw and pickled onions for some crunch. The brisket was nicely prepared with a nice Smokey flavor. The sandwich combo was maybe a bit small for the price at $27.10 with the 1$ up charge for the mac and cheese side so maybe not the greatest value, but nice for a treat.
Delicious BBQ brisket and fantastic drinks. The restaurant was comfortable and the staff was friendly.
Hank Daddy's BBQ has a very eye catching name to me, given that I'm a fellow Hank the Tank, Hankypanky or whatever. Please do NOT call me daddy though, unless you're actually my kid. I came here for the 1/2 priced meat Monday. Unfortunately when I visited, they ran out of ribs, so I ordered 1/2 pound of brisket, 1/2 pound of pulled pork and a side of Mac N'Cheese instead. Overall all the meat was smoked to perfection and they were quite delicious. However, I was hoping that they could warm up the food a bit more as they were served a bit too cool to my liking. The brisket was really great - I prefer them to be leaner though, something I'll make sure to order next time. The Mac n cheese was recommended to me, but I found it quite underwhelming. It didn't have any particular flavour and there was only a small pile of cheese melted on top. I'll try the corn bread and another side next time. Price-wise, I don't think it was quite reasonable. While that was a lot of meat and I was full after the meal, a plate that costs 30 dollars was still a bit much (especially given the fact this is after the discount of half price Monday). It seems that the options on their lunch menus & happy hours are more to my budget. Last but not the least, I really liked how many different bbq sauces they offered for your meal. I personally LOVE the hot hickory bbq sauce after trying them all. It was smoky, tangy and with a settle kick at the end - everything I want in a bbq sauce. You must get that when you visit!!!! The server was super friendly and the interior was clean, spacious and comfortable.
My buddy was in the mood for barbecue and we decided to go big by sharing the Mr. Turner Platter. This one comes with St. Louis style ribs, beef brisket, sausages, and four large sides. What really made this visit stand out right from the start was how the server accommodated us with options. We got to try both sliced and chopped brisket, and even had a mix of the original and cheese sausages. Little touches like that always go a long way. For the sides, we had cornbread, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and fries. Each one played its part well without stealing the show, which is exactly what you want from barbecue sides. The meats were roasted just right, nothing dry or overdone, and the ribs especially had that perfect pull. What really puts this place a level above is their sauces and pickles. Normally I find myself wanting to drown barbecue in sauce, but here, the balance was already there. Every variety of sauce added something different, but none felt like it had to be there to make up for anything missing. You can enjoy it as-is or mix and match, and we found ourselves testing pairings just for the fun of it. Service was another high point. Our server was gentle, thorough, and seemed genuinely happy to help us enjoy our meal. The Kansas-themed interior had that warm and cozy feel too, not overdone, just right for kicking back and focusing on the food. Only regret? Our stomachs weren't big enough to try more. But no doubt we'll be back soon. This spot really hits all the notes when it comes to comfort, quality, and value.
If you love BBQ, this is the place for you. They have ribs, chicken, brisket, rib tips, Mac and cheese... many delicious choices. The ribs were SO GOOD!!!! So tender and full of flavour. The nachos were divine, with the jalapeños and brisket. The brisket was tender and it added a really nice flavour to the nachos. I also appreciated the fact that the nachos remained crunchy and not soggy.
BBQ is something we try to find and eat no matter where we travel and Hank Daddy's did not disappoint! The Platter for 2 (choice of 4 meats, 2 sides) had very generous portions for a very reasonable price. We opted for the ribs, wings, pulled pork and beef brisket accompanied by the mac'n cheese and coleslaw. Low and slow is how they cook it and you can taste it in every bite. The wings were beautifully browned with that dry but not quite crispy outside while maintaining a moist inside. We had them tossed in Hank Daddy's Carolina Mustard which was surprisingly thick with very pronounced sweetness and mustard. With this sauce, a little goes a long way. The pulled pork was spot on; still moist with just the right amount of sauce. The ribs were not quite as tender as I'd hoped but the meat still came off the bone quite nicely and they still tasted really good. Next was the mixed brisket served 'au naturel' and it was pretty good. Not dried out but not fall apart soft either which is my preference. That said, I had the non-fatty pieces. My partner had the fatty pieces and thoroughly enjoyed the brisket so I will chalk this up to preference. BBQ may be all about the meats but it would be incomplete without the sides. If you love Mac'n Cheese you will not be disappointed with this one. Large spiral noodles with creamy flavourful cheese. Yum! Hopefully you're still reading because the coleslaw at Hank Daddy's is truly unique. I enjoy a decent creamy coleslaw but I love a nice vinegary one even more. What you get is actually a bit more complex. The vinegar was not subtle but also not overpowering. What caught me by surprise was the hint of sweetness normally credited to sugar and yet I knew it wasn't sugar. The sweetness although mild has a distinct flavour. I described it to the server as a 'hint of boxed raisins'; a first for me. It's not bad but it also wasn't my cup of tea. I was told it was likely from the Coriander seeds. Coriander and coriander seeds taste nothing alike and yet I now know that I dislike both. We all have our preferences and hopefully this helps others make the most of their BBQ experience. I will add that the size of the restaurant is just right; not too big, not too small. The decor and atmosphere are spot on and the staff are friendly and helpful. They also have a patio; perfect for enjoying good food and weather. If Kansas City style BBQ is your thing then I highly recommend giving Hank Daddy's a try. Bon appétit!
I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from this place. It was fantastic. The meat was perfectly cooked and the beans tasted fantastic. The service was great and I definitely would love to go back to this place.
March 5/2023: This is a very cool BBQ restaurant in Woodbridge (Vaughan). Nicely decorated with BBQ themed style & classic new country music playing the background. The place was empty so we had great service from our server, Sidney. She was nice & polite. My food was the sliced beef brisket with sides of baked beans, corn bread & coleslaw. The beef was tasty & lean (ordered it lean) but just not much of the beef in terms of quantity. The beans were very good as was the corn bread. The slaw was a little dry, so not that great. What REALLY stood out the BBQ sauces. I tried 6 of em & without exception they were all delicious! This is definitely a do over. The loss of a star came from the fact that I left after spending $50.00 for lunch & I could have eaten again. Small portions & just not enough to fill me up!
This my 2nd review, 5 days later. I returned with my wife and son for dinner. We waited 1 hour for our dinner after ordering. We watched as tables seated after we arrived (with a reservation) be served their dinner. We were hungry! I told the waitress how long we had waited. They took 10% off the bill but our dinner out was spoiled. You know the food is good but not outstanding. You decide! Do you want to chance this for your dinner plans here?
Love this place. I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review. It's just so good. I compare other barbecue places to this place. Location: It's located at keele and Highway 7, on the northeast corner. There's a fairly large building there on the keele side at the top. Also it's next to this seriously outrageous over the top furniture store that is a definite must visit just for the sheer amount of gold covered large items. It's like dinner then a show Parking: There's a lot of parking spaces. There's parking a plenty! Go ahead and drive your friends this place has very low parking stress. Get them to drive to high parking stress places. Decor: It's fun it's open there's a giant chalkboard that's the menu or you can go with the all you can eat, on all you can eat nights and just eat the menu! There's tables there's picnic tables they have outdoor seating. The washrooms are clean you order when you walk in at the counter you leave your name and then they call your name when it's busy or if you go there a lot and they know you they'll actually bring your food to your table for you because they're awesome like that! The Food: It's a Kansas city barbecue place. I didn't even know there was such a thing. The food is delicious I love the wings and the ribs. I also love the brisket sandwich. It's just so darn good. They have a lot of sides no more mashed potatoes which makes me sad, but they have fantastic coleslaw and really good cornbread. If you want to pretend like you're kind of a healthy person you can get a salad. The salads are always fresh and crisp which I really like cuz you wouldn't think they'd be doing a big salad business there Funny story- I brought my book club there and while we were sitting waiting for the food one of the ladies asked the people the table next to us what they thought of their food. It turned out it was a table of men from Kansas city who said the food was absolutely delicious and exactly like Kansas city barbecue. So it's accurate as well as fantastic! Also they're so nice one of the ladies was actually a vegan but didn't tell us, she was just going to get a pop and see if she could find something. She ended up getting a salad and instead of just giving her a side salad they filled an entire tray with the salad to make sure she had enough to eat. Which I thought was so nice of them That being said I go back a lot because I really like it I also would recommend the coconut cream pie it's very good
Since Adamson BBQ closed their business, we were searching for good beef brisket. This place comes quite close. The briskets are tender, maybe a little dry but still delicious. Service is good, ambiance is nice.
Very delicious BBQ. They specialise in smoked BBQ I ordered the platter for two and three was great portions. The brisket was my fav I chose to get it sliced instead of chopped it was tender with juicy fats. Second was the ribs they were tender but not feel apart tender tasty. Then the pull pork and wings. Try the Nashville hot sauce if you enjoy tangy hot sauce.
An excellent barbecue place! Has an assortment of delicious ribs, pulled pork, sausages and more! There is a variety of sides to choose from as well! I really loved the Mac and cheese (super cheesy) in particular. The fries were also very good. The cowboy fries were alright but a bit smaller than I imagined so thought it was a bit pricey. Also the Mac and cheese was a bit crunch so it might been a bit undercooked. regardless, I really enjoyed my meal and could see myself coming back if I'm in the area!
Stopped in first time to have their happy hour menu. Got a bit of everything. Pulled pork sliders, beef brisket slider, sausage original and the jalepeno cheddar and a point of wings. Cow big fries loaded sweet potato fries with pulled pork and slaw. Absolutely delicious! The wings were slightly overcooked as were the pulled pork a little bit to the dryer side but good value none the less. $5 Hank lager pint. Looking forward to coming back. read more
I got the sample meat selection with sweet potatoe fries. Pulled pork, ribs and brisket. Food was absolutely delicious. Portion size was relatively small and price was little high ( $42.23+ tax) for sample sizes I got. Beautiful setting for dine in but I got take out. Service was ok. This BBQ place is decent, but has a few rough edges. It gets 3.5 stars Got a half order of rib tips, which are leftover rib pieces which are recooked. They were pretty tasty & their BBQ sauce was pretty good, if generic. They were a bit tough because they had been cooked multiple times. Also got the 3 meat plate. It was great variety. Pulled pork was good - it had body & wasn't fully pulled. There was some fat which was nice. The sauce was pretty good too. Honey mustard wings were pretty good too - the sauce tasted mixed on-site rather than from a bottle - but the wings were a bit overcooked. The sliced brisket (fatty) wasn't that good; while tender, it wasn't that fatty & above all the flavour of the spices didn't really penetrate, so it was a bit underpowered. I would review the complimentary hickory sauce that was supposed to be served on the side too, but it was missing. Grr. The plate also came with 2 sides which were ok: slaw was crisp & tasted ok. Mac & Cheese was a bit undercooked: some bits were too firm; the cheese sauce was decent. The complimentary pickles & bun were ok; the bun was pretty soft & yellow inside but tasted normal. The cornbread was pretty good - rich, with a good corn taste & moist enough & quite a big piece. read more
I can't say enough good things about Hank Daddy's. They have been a regular haunt for me for years. Delicious food that is consistent every time in its delivery. Today, I had the sliced brisket with sweet potato fries. I love variety, but I have the brisket every time I come. Moist, and flavourful brisket with a side of very crispy sweet potato fries. Perfect flavouring and the brisket is always just the way I like it. Another nice thing about Hank Daddy's is their ability to cater to people who have special dietary needs. If you are in a similar spot, just let them know and the food is done right every time. The staff are friendly. The place is always spotless. And I can even get an unsweetened tea with a smile. Rockin! read more
Wow this place is putting out some amazing BBQ! As most of you know I had a 4 year stint in Austin, TX before making my way up here. I ate my way through a whole lot of BBQ down there and frequented the best of the best. I love barbecue and get really excited when I find a place here that does it right! The ambiance is pretty cool with red picnic tables, a big chalk board wall with the menu and country music playing in the background. The bar is even cooler with a gigantic selection of Bourbon back lit with blue LED's at night! The owner Frank (his nickname is Hank) is really friendly if you can hold a conversation on BBQ or Bourbon, both of which I am fluent in...I had a great time sitting at the bar and chatting him up. On to the food... My first visit was for happy hour after work. They have a fun special menu with things like rib tips and smoked sausages at ridiculously inexpensive prices. The happy hour food was so good I couldn't wait to go back and in fact had lunch this weekend sampling the chopped brisket and some sliced brisket. The brisket was incredibly moist and tasty with a thick black bark. I usually judge a BBQ joint by the brisket alone and this one is as good as it gets. Frank said his specialty is ribs so that's next in my list to try. Oh, the sausage that I mentioned earlier is fantastic and reminds me of the Salk Lick down in Austin, high praise indeed. If you love BBQ you need to check this place out! read more
I went here with a group before the current COVID virus situation. Hank Daddy's can accommodate groups because their tables are easy to move together and there are large picnic tables as well. The menu is on the wall. You order at the cash register and they call your name when your order is ready. The staff members were friendly. Among other things, they offer plates of two types of meat (4 ounces each) and two sides for $16.50. I chose the pulled pork and sliced brisket which can be requested on the lean side. Some of their sides including french fries are an extra dollar. I loved the potato salad! It was just the right texture and so flavourful. Canned soft drinks and bottles of water are available in a cooler by the cash register. I wish I had realized there was a pitcher of water on our table before I ordered the drink. The owner came by our table to chat. He wasn't just going through the motions but was interested in what we had to say. Our group got a sample of ribs on the house. This was a nice touch and allowed me to taste one extra type of meat they have available. I enjoyed all three types of meat I tried. Hank Daddy's BBQ is quite casual with plenty of parking. read more

I've been here a few times and even attended an event. You would think that I have been done a review by now. To tell you the truth, I honestly thought I did - Whoa....Ground Hog Day! Tonight's meal was a treat! Really...it was. Tom S. (https://tomyyz.yelp.ca/) invited me out to share a meal and exchange stories. He wanted to try out places in my area and I gave him a series of ideas, which included most Asian foods + Hank Daddy's. Didn't take long to choose the meat rich diet of BBQ! To make things easy, we opted for the Platter for 2. That would be 6oz of Pulled Pork, 6oz of Pulled Beef Brisket, 1/2 Rack of Ribs, 1lb of Wings, 2 Sides, and 2 Drinks. It's going to be an enjoyable big meal. We had a great night comparing notes and adventures. If you have a look at Tom's reviews, you will know that he is an exceptional foodie with refined tastes. You might wonder what he is doing in a BBQ place in industrial concord, having a meal with a rookie foodie like me! We all have a couple things in common. We love food, and we love to take pictures and talk about it! The large serving tray full of freshly cooked meats arrived. The wings were smoky and tasty. The ribs were peel off the bone great. One thing I noticed about having a meal here is that the meal gets cold quickly and the enjoyment goes down as the food temperature seems to slide. Perhaps they need to rethink the plating somehow - maybe warm the tray. Frank and Olivia came by to say hi and we enjoyed our meal. You know what they say, if you sit long enough, everyone you know will pass by you. During the meal, another friend I haven't seen in years showed up! Go figure! Definitely my choice for BBQ! But for next time, Korean BBQ! My treat! Cheers! read more

Found this place near a haunt we were going to and decided to give it a go. It's in a business district, I would have never known ot was there. The ambiance/decor was really nice but the A/C was up way to high. Lol We ordered the pulled pork combo and brisket combo with slaw, potato salad, baked beans, and the mac & cheese (upcharge of 1$). So, the meats were both really tender and had the perfect smoke taste, kinda small but I think we are just used to big portions. The mac & cheese was good but luke warm and had the potential of being awesome if it were hot. The potato salad was the best side in my opinion, creamy and potatoes tender, the slaw was a very refreshing vinegar slaw and the baked beans tasted like canned Clark beans. Good but not fresh. All in all it was a tasty meal. If you have a craving for bbq go on and try it out. https://youtube.com/channel/UCFeaOetTkW7ZaAWl3fzGvDw read more
Very good BBQ. You can taste the smokiness in the ribs, the BBQ chicken is amazing, beef brisket was good and the wings were pretty good. Went on a Saturday night and the place was surprisingly not busy. Believe it or not, they have an all you can eat option Thurs-Sat for $35/person. Glad I didn't go for that, though I was tempted, since I was really stuffed by the end. I would say this is the second best BBQ I have had in and around TO. But to be honest, nothing in TO compares to the common BBQ places you find everywhere in the USA (especially in the south). read more

A cozy joint. It looks like just a little neighborhood hangout but it is more than that. We ordered a platter for two ($70) to just try out the place. The platter has pulled pork, brisket beef, rib, wings with two sides. Preferred order from the platter : ribs , wings , pulled pork, brisket beef = sausage (extra order for $7) Likely to return. read more

We were in the area decided to check this out, we ordered pound beef brisket and one pound wings hickory hot honestly definitely not worth the price, the waitress was kind and polite, the brisket was tasty and tender, the wings were smoked and incredibly dry one of the worst wings I have ever tasted, the sauce wasn't hot it was called hickory hot it was more sweet, 56 bucks not well spent, when I'm in Vaughn I'm not coming back here read more

My friend and I came on a weekday evening and we were the only customers at that time. It was around 6pm when we came and sadly, they were already out of ribs! This place is located on the plaza north of hwy7 and facing keele. We ordered a Plate of 2 meats and 2 sides (beef brisket, pulled pork, fries and salad). We also ordered 1 lbs wings (honey mustard) that comes with side + an extra side if you check in on Yelp! (Sides: macncheese and cornbread). What I enjoyed: Pulled pork (tender, flavourful and not dry), wings (was full of smoky goodness), crispy fries and their bbq sauce! Honey mustard was great too (tangy and sweet) Everything else we ordered was ok (beef brisket and sides). Hickory was too sweet for my liking but others might enjoy it. A con I would like to mention was our food came out lukewarm, even on the colder side. The total price was $32 for 2 people, it filled us up but probably because we ordered too much for 2 people! The portion size for each item was decent, might note it's on the smaller side. The atmosphere gives off a summer night vibes with the lights and the picnic tables. There are lots of stuff on the menu you can pick from. I also love how their sauces are on the tables and you can dress it however you like. Overall, the bbq quality is great, friendly service and clean - I would come back to try their ribs! read more
Hank's your Daddy. And this is the place! Always on the lookout for good Q, another elite suggested it for lunch as we were both in the area. Hanks is a big place, a full sized restaurant compared to the little 10 table Big Bone or Memphis BBQ. I was reluctant, since I had Hanks food at the food court at the Autoshow and other events. Meh. But this full location does it up right! I had a half rack of luscious ribs, and got to sample some brisket. Amazing tenderness and flavour, exactly what I would expect. The menu options are many, and surprisingly almost all of the menu items are gluten free. Hank, ditch the carney pop-up locations, they don't do anything for the brand. I should have come here years before this! read more
