BBQ is something we try to find and eat no matter where we travel and Hank Daddy's did not disappoint! The Platter for 2 (choice of 4 meats, 2 sides) had very generous portions for a very reasonable price. We opted for the ribs, wings, pulled pork and beef brisket accompanied by the mac'n cheese and coleslaw. Low and slow is how they cook it and you can taste it in every bite. The wings were beautifully browned with that dry but not quite crispy outside while maintaining a moist inside. We had them tossed in Hank Daddy's Carolina Mustard which was surprisingly thick with very pronounced sweetness and mustard. With this sauce, a little goes a long way. The pulled pork was spot on; still moist with just the right amount of sauce. The ribs were not quite as tender as I'd hoped but the meat still came off the bone quite nicely and they still tasted really good. Next was the mixed brisket served 'au naturel' and it was pretty good. Not dried out but not fall apart soft either which is my preference. That said, I had the non-fatty pieces. My partner had the fatty pieces and thoroughly enjoyed the brisket so I will chalk this up to preference. BBQ may be all about the meats but it would be incomplete without the sides. If you love Mac'n Cheese you will not be disappointed with this one. Large spiral noodles with creamy flavourful cheese. Yum! Hopefully you're still reading because the coleslaw at Hank Daddy's is truly unique. I enjoy a decent creamy coleslaw but I love a nice vinegary one even more. What you get is actually a bit more complex. The vinegar was not subtle but also not overpowering. What caught me by surprise was the hint of sweetness normally credited to sugar and yet I knew it wasn't sugar. The sweetness although mild has a distinct flavour. I described it to the server as a 'hint of boxed raisins'; a first for me. It's not bad but it also wasn't my cup of tea. I was told it was likely from the Coriander seeds. Coriander and coriander seeds taste nothing alike and yet I now know that I dislike both. We all have our preferences and hopefully this helps others make the most of their BBQ experience. I will add that the size of the restaurant is just right; not too big, not too small. The decor and atmosphere are spot on and the staff are friendly and helpful. Hank Daddy's BBQ has a very eye catching name to me, given that I'm a fellow Hank the Tank, Hankypanky or whatever. Please do NOT call me daddy though, unless you're actually my kid. I came here for the 1/2 priced meat Monday. Unfortunately when I visited, they ran out of ribs, so I ordered 1/2 pound of brisket, 1/2 pound of pulled pork and a side of Mac N'Cheese instead. Overall all the meat was smoked to perfection and they were quite delicious. However, I was hoping that they could warm up the food a bit more as they were served a bit too cool to my liking. The brisket was really great - I prefer them to be leaner though, something I'll make sure to order next time. The Mac n cheese was recommended to me, but I found it quite underwhelming. It didn't have any particular flavour and there was only a small pile of cheese melted on top. I'll try the corn bread and another side next time. Price-wise, I don't think it was quite reasonable. While that was a lot of meat and I was full after the meal, a plate that costs 30 dollars was still a bit much (especially given the fact this is after the discount of half price Monday). It seems that the options on their lunch menus & happy hours are more to my budget. Last but not the least, I really liked how many different bbq sauces they offered for your meal. My buddy was in the mood for barbecue and we decided to go big by sharing the Mr. Turner Platter. This one comes with St. Louis style ribs, beef brisket, sausages, and four large sides. What really made this visit stand out right from the start was how the server accommodated us with options. But I finally was able to get back and this time I brought my wife and my brother and his wife with me. The best part of the whole thing was getting reacquainted with my old friend Hank again. The beef was tasty & lean (ordered it lean) but just not much of the beef in terms of quantity. The beans were very good as was the corn bread. The slaw was a little dry, so not that great. Love this place. I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review. It's just so good. I compare other barbecue places to this place. Location: It's located at keele and Highway 7, on the northeast corner. There's a fairly large building there on the keele side at the top. Also it's next to this seriously outrageous over the top furniture store that is a definite must visit just for the sheer amount of gold covered large items. It's like dinner then a show Parking: There's a lot of parking spaces. There's parking a plenty! Go ahead and drive your friends this place has very low parking stress. Get them to drive to high parking stress places. Decor: It's fun it's open there's a giant chalkboard that's the menu or you can go with the all you can eat, on all you can eat nights and just eat the menu! There's tables there's picnic tables they have outdoor seating. The washrooms are clean you order when you walk in at the counter you leave your name and then they call your name when it's busy or if you go there a lot and they know you they'll actually bring your food to your table for you because they're awesome like that! The Food: It's a Kansas city barbecue place. I didn't even know there was such a thing. The food is delicious I love the wings and the ribs. I also love the brisket sandwich. It's just so darn good. They have a lot of sides no more mashed potatoes which makes me sad, but they have fantastic coleslaw and really good cornbread. They were pretty tasty & their BBQ sauce was pretty good, if generic. They were a bit tough because they had been cooked multiple times. Also got the 3 meat plate. It was great variety. Pulled pork was good - it had body & wasn't fully pulled. There was some fat which was nice. The sauce was pretty good too. Honey mustard wings were pretty good too - the sauce tasted mixed on-site rather than from a bottle - but the wings were a bit overcooked. The sliced brisket (fatty) wasn't that good; while tender, it wasn't that fatty & above all the flavour of the spices didn't really penetrate, so it was a bit underpowered. I would review the complimentary hickory sauce that was supposed to be served on the side too, but it was missing. Grr. The plate also came with 2 sides which were ok: slaw was crisp & tasted ok. Mac & Cheese was a bit undercooked: some bits were too firm; the cheese sauce was decent. The complimentary pickles & bun were ok; the bun was pretty soft & yellow inside but tasted normal. Wow this place is putting out some amazing BBQ! As most of you know I had a 4 year stint in Austin, TX before making my way up here. I ate my way through a whole lot of BBQ down there and frequented the best of the best. I love barbecue and get really excited when I find a place here that does it right! The bar is even cooler with a gigantic selection of Bourbon back lit with blue LED's at night! The owner Frank (his nickname is Hank) is really friendly if you can hold a conversation on BBQ or Bourbon, both of which I am fluent in...I had a great time sitting at the bar and chatting him up. On to the food... My first visit was for happy hour after work. They have a fun special menu with things like rib tips and smoked sausages at ridiculously inexpensive prices. The happy hour food was so good I couldn't wait to go back and in fact had lunch this weekend sampling the chopped brisket and some sliced brisket. The brisket was incredibly moist and tasty with a thick black bark. I usually judge a BBQ joint by the brisket alone and this one is as good as it gets. I went here with a group before the current COVID virus situation. Hank Daddy's can accommodate groups because their tables are easy to move together and there are large picnic tables as well. The menu is on the wall. You order at the cash register and they call your name when your order is ready. The staff members were friendly. Among other things, they offer plates of two types of meat (4 ounces each) and two sides for $16.50. I chose the pulled pork and sliced brisket which can be requested on the lean side. Some of their sides including french fries are an extra dollar. I loved the potato salad! It was just the right texture and so flavourful. Canned soft drinks and bottles of water are available in a cooler by the cash register. I wish I had realized there was a pitcher of water on our table before I ordered the drink. The owner came by our table to chat. He wasn't just going through the motions but was interested in what we had to say. Our group got a sample of ribs on the house. The Yelp ratings were so high for this, which is why we chose this place when we visited Toronto. As you can see by my rating, we were very disappointed in the place. We came in around 7PM. So I ordered the sausage. They talk about how this isn't fast food, and you have to wait a little longer based on their cooking style. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Then we noticed that one group who ordered after us got their meals. Then we noticed a second group sitting next to us that ordered after us got their meals. By then the waitress looked at us and said something like, "Your order's coming out soon. They're making the sausage fresh." So we waited some more. I've been here a few times and even attended an event. You would think that I have been done a review by now. To tell you the truth, I honestly thought I did - Whoa....Ground Hog Day! It's going to be an enjoyable big meal. We had a great night comparing notes and adventures. If you have a look at Tom's reviews, you will know that he is an exceptional foodie with refined tastes. You might wonder what he is doing in a BBQ place in industrial concord, having a meal with a rookie foodie like me! We all have a couple things in common. We love food, and we love to take pictures and talk about it! The large serving tray full of freshly cooked meats arrived. The wings were smoky and tasty. The ribs were peel off the bone great. Hanks is a big place, a full sized restaurant compared to the little 10 table Big Bone or Memphis BBQ. I was reluctant, since I had Hanks food at the food court at the Autoshow and other events. Meh. Browsing through yelp for something close by. This place turned up and it definitely sparked an interest. We have driven by this intersection so many times and yet we never noticed it. It is located in the North East corner of Highway 7 and Keele Street. There is tons of parking spots, which is always a plus. You walk in and you see a beautiful menu on the wall, then you walk up to the counter and place your order. Take a seat at a table or picnic bench and they will call your name once your order is ready. Olivia took our order and she was so personable which made our first visit really nice. We order the platter for 2 6oz pulled pork 6oz beef brisket 1/2 pound of wings 1/2 rack of ribs 2 sides - Mac&Cheese and Mashed Potato and two drinks. HOWEVER me being me wanted to try more things so we added: Jalapeno chedder sausage and corn bread Everything was DELICIOUS. Ribs - fell off of the bone so easily Wings - the size of the wings are big! Pulled Pork + Beef Brisket - very tender and savory Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage - has a nice kick and flavourful (this will be my go to) Mashed Potato - definitely not bland, kept coming back for more Mac and Cheese - ugh hi, LOVED IT Corn Bread - it was for the lack of a better moist (that is a word that I absolutely despise) However it didn't crumble and it was delicious I appreciate the hospitality given to us by Olivia and we DEFINITELY will be coming back! read more

Dairy Allergy Alert - there's butter on the ribs. Really liked this place until I found out (after I ordered and bit into my ribs) there was butter on the ribs. The server brushed it off as "it's only a little bit of butter" Now I will say their ribs are delicious, smoky, tender and the meat literally fell off the bone. Their wings were sub-par and was a little bit on the dry side. However, due to the lack of concern with my allergy I won't be coming back. read more

Herbivores beware! This is NOT a place you want to try! I had a craving for some awesome bbq meat, and this place was right at the top of my list to try and did not disappoint. My other half and I came here on Wednesday right after work around 6 and the place was pretty quiet but as we eat our meal it was bustling with take out orders. When you first enter the first thing that hit me was the variety of options. Their menu did take up nearly an entire wall after all. There was plenty of seating which is awesome to see. Bbq, and wings are inherently "finger food", and the worse thing is to be rubbing elbows with your friend while trying to put a rib in your mouth. There was plenty of space to spread out, and spread out I did as I eat (so filling!) Right when we came in we were cheerfully greeted, and was briefly walked through he options of the menu. We ended up getting a platter for 2 as we wanted a good sampling of "everything", had 3 sides (mac and cheese, beans and corn bread) as well as an extra side of cheddar jalapeno smoked sausage. We were informed that it would be a bit of a wait as the pulled pork and pulled beef brisket was going to be freshly prepared, as they don't like to keep those things "pre made" through out the day, which I can really appreciate. The platter for two was just perfect. It came with pulled pork, pulled and sliced brisket, 1 lb of wings, half rack of ribs and two sides (mac and cheese and beans) and 2 drinks. We also got an extra sausage, corn bread and also some plain white thick cut bread. Let me tell you, my craving for meat was completely and utterly satisfied. All the meat was tasty, moist and fall of the bone filled with smoky flavor. The side of carbs perfectly complemented the meat. On the table they also have some in house bbq sauces (hickory, original and honey mustard). Each was pretty much a perfect complement to all the meat. What really earned this place a special spot in my books is the absolutely friendly unpretentious service. We were checked in on quite a few times, walked through different options, and the server was kind enough to also give us an extra piece of freshly baked corn bread hot out of the oven! At first the corn bread was a tad lacking in flavor, but the fresh hot one definitely hit the spot! So try and make sure you get your corn bread hot! I could go on about this place, but will likely run out of space. I'm going to just add on a final note that i would absolutely go back without hesitation. Oh and they also have AYCE from Thurs to Sat from 5 onwards! What other bbq place even has this?? This place has spoiled me and set the bar quite high for bbq places in the GTA. read more
