    Cheesy Fries

This is really a 4.5 star place... We popped in for an early dinner on a rainy afternoon. Two young ladies working everything (taking orders, making the food, cleaning up, delivering orders to customers)... they were doing a superb job! My husband ordered the Backfire burger - very good. My son had the poutine - he loves poutine and said it was great. I had a bite, the gravy was salty and perfect. My daughter had the jalapeño poppers. They were really quite good. I had the cheese fries - the cheese was yummy. The restaurant is small but it was clean and the employees were working so hard but never stopped smiling.

I was in the mood for some juicy burgers, I searched social media and came across Firefly burger, I drove out of my way to go enjoy this huge juicy burger. Oh boy, was I bamboozled, one meal (burger, poutine & drink) + 1 burger cost about $50. I was ok with it until the burgers came out. Got a firefly & cheese burger. You are paying for a bun, no doubt it's a huge burger but besides eating all that carb, there is hardly any flavour. The only saving grace was the ample amount of sauce. The poutine was the best part of the meal. I was so disappointed to waste my burger craving here.

Ever since seeing this place open, I have been meaning to try this and got to do so in the afternoon. When I ordered, she asked me if I was a student so I showed her my school ID (BLESSED!). I got the backfire burger which came with black angus patty, chilli lava sauce, jalapeno, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, fresh onion. It took awhile to get the order as there were tables ahead of me when I ordered. The burger was yummy, I was craving something spicy so the jalapenos did help a little bit. The burger was not dry, it was juicy and was dripping with sauce after every single bite. Ingredients were fresh as well. Service was good, they delivered the orders to each person which was nice. Super compact area for instore dining so I had to keep adjusting a little bit so the staff walking by did not hit me haha.

Got a single Kamikaze burger, cut in half to fit in dinner size container. And they packed "gloves" & plenty of napkin. This gigantic single burger was shared between 2 people. Loved my burger was juicy, saucy, messy & smokey. Will return to try other flavours. (2nd visit) This time I ordered cheese burger(6.3 oz patty) Since their pattty is thicker than other smash burger place, it took 3 times longer to prepare. Compared to very impressive first visit tho. Despite they have this flat top to bbq grill finish action, I did not taste much smokey bbq flavour this time. Strong ketchup ratio.

This place is a bit expensive, but I want to try it at least once. I just chose the cheapest burger with hot sauce. It's cute that they put the hot sauce in a plastic squeezer. The burger meat was cooked on grill and stayed juicy. I would say this is one of the best burgers I've had for a while. It took more than 10 min I think for the food to come out, but for the freshness quality I'll wait. The inside is thinner and deeper, don't think there are many seats though as the kitchen took up a lot of place in the front, we got there earlier so we have seat. Will go again.

Massive burger. Stopped by and got the Wallstreet Burger. The patty is typical smash burger, but it was the overflowing sauce and heaping of mushrooms that differentiated the burger. Put it this way: I never thought I'd describe a burger as floppy but this one was because of the generous amount of toppings. Space is narrow but we'll laid out. Servers are really friendly and helpful. Vibe is casual. Pretty good downtown stop for an elevated burger.

This is an above-average smash burger restaurant, hence their slogan "Above All Burgers". Their burger patties are Black Angus, huge and very filling, hence justifying the price. They also sell grilled and crispy chicken sandwiches. There are spicy versions. There is a kids' menu and salads. You can add extra patties (Black Angus or Chicken Breast) to any burger for +$4.99. The burger is first heated up and smashed on the flat stove. Then, it is transferred to a grill for that BBQ flavour. I've never seen a burger cooked on 2 separate surfaces before. You can see everything cooked in front of you with their open kitchen. Everything is halal. They use turkey bacon with the chicken sandwiches and beef bacon with the beef burgers. If they run out of one type, they will use the other. The restaurant interior looks impressive, with tasteful decorations. I ordered their signature Firefly Burger ($15.99). They gave me the Turkey Bacon. You can make it a combo with Regular Fries (+$2.99), Cheesy Fries (+$3.99), or Waffle Fries (+$3.99); I had the Waffle Fries. The combo pricing is not listed in their menu. I also ordered an Apple Juice ($1.25). All their canned pop are also $1.25. The service was really good. On top of a regular burger restaurant serving the burger and fries on a tray, they added some nice touches. They include a pair of see-through gloves in case you don't want your hand dirtied by the sauce and juices. They will also cut your massive burger in half if you request it. There are also packets of salt and pepper in case you want to use them. The burger was definitely juicy and tasty and very filling. My son and I shared a burger, and that's with only a single patty! The added fries were more filling than small fries at other restaurants. I found out that if you paid the regular price for the fries, you get it in a bowl, which has 3 times the amount of fries. They have indoor seating consisting of 2 tables of 4 and 4 tables of 2. This is their only location in Canada, opening on 2023-07-13. There is another location in Chicago (USA). There is free WiFi, but sometimes they don't remember the password. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms downstairs,  so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and parking lots Review 2023-253

The I Heart Butter Tart Concrete ($6.49) that I ordered was a little too much for myself. I did decide to go through and finish the ice cream / sundae just so I don't have anything to go. The interior of the place was properly though out and well designed. Self order stations are available to order from and the ordering interface is one of the better systems I have seen. When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

I couldn't let the opportunity pass. The dining space? Bright, clean, inviting. Modern but casual. Off to a genuinely good start. And then... things went south. I ordered the peri-peri chicken with two sides. The wait was excruciating. Not just long--confusing. Every single person who ordered after me was eating while I sat there wondering if my ticket got lost in another country. When the chicken finally arrived, I was stunned--and not in a good way. Easily the smallest leg/thigh combo I've ever seen. Yes, I'm used to USA-sized, GMO-filled chickens, but I've eaten plenty overseas. This wasn't "European portioning." This was kiddie-sized. Flavor? Underwhelming. Forgettable. Nothing that made me pause, nothing that lingered. For a place built on peri-peri heat and personality, this was shockingly flat. I can get chicken with more punch at my local Grocery & Go. The mac and cheese had decent texture--the breadcrumbs did their job--but flavor-wise? Completely bland. Zero soul. The fries? Although well seasoned, we're like warm. Overhyped things rarely deliver, and Nando's sadly fits the bill. Massive disappointment is the phrase that keeps coming to mind

Hard to find a place these days that checks all the boxes -- healthy, affordable, and good service…read more-- but this Nando's pulls it off. The food is solid (grilled chicken, not greasy junk), the prices are surprisingly fair for downtown, and the staff actually seem like they care.

This location is a full restaurant with plenty of indoor seating. There is easy-listening music playing in the background. I ordered the following: 1. Signature Poutine with Beef ($9.99). 2. Plum Cold Brew ($3.99). I've never had the Poutine before. It was good. I've had the Plum Cold Brew before and it was like I remembered. This restaurant chain introduced the "Chinese Hamburger" in a crispy bun to Toronto back in 2021-05-23 (soft opening). Very tasty indeed! Plus, they have a wide variety of appetizers. The two owners are from China. The brand was founded in Beijing on 2014-04-08 and now has over 65 locations in Beijing. The Chinese Hamburger is called Rou Jia Mo (肉夹馍) in Chinese, which literally translates to "meat in a bun". It is the cuisine of China's Shaanxi province, which has the capital city of Xi'An (or Xian), where you find the terracotta warriors. For Chinese hamburgers, there are two types of buns: crispy and non-crispy. Most restaurants use the non-crispy buns but Bingz is the only restaurant in the GTA that uses the baked crispy buns. There is free WiFi. The restaurant wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washrooms, which is also wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-244
