Came here for the first time on a Wednesday night and got the two piece with a side of fries ($10.49). The service was relatively quick. I was super excited to try their fried chicken after hearing so many things and it tasted pretty good - hot, crispy, a good amount of juiciness. However, it wasn't anything particularly amazing to me. Their fries were also a bit underwhelming. I do appreciate the amount of gravy they provide. I think it's a good quick meal option but I don't see myself going here regularly (especially with all the other fried chicken places nearby). Good amount of seating and it was relatively clean. We didn't go out of our way to come here but rather passed by on our way home from shopping at the Eaton Centre, so decided to give it a shot. It's always fun trying a new spot you've heard so much hype about! We got the three piece with fries as our side. I personally didn't notice much of a difference from the crispy KFC chicken but my husband said he prefers Jollibee because he found the skin crispier and the meat juicier. We both LOVED the fries and gravy. And they give you such a generous portion of gravy. The fries remind me of McDonalds except they weren't salted. I assume they provide the gravy in place of salting the fries. Service was nice because as soon as we walked in with our stroller, an employee walked over to us and asked if we required the elevator to access the ordering area. There are three steps up to the ordering area (why they designed it this way is beyond me) but my husband and kids just waited in the dining area while I ordered so the elevator wasn't necessary. The wait for food did take a while, as it appears this place has a ton of online orders. And it didn't seem as though in-person orders were prioritized. It was about an 8 minute wait for our food after ordering, but I will say the food we did receive was piping hot and fresh. $15+ is a bit too steep for a 3 piece meal (without drink) in my opinion, but the food certainly was delicious and I would be back in a heartbeat if we got our hands on some coupons or some other promotion was going on. 3.5 stars. read more

I have seen the hype, by some food bloggers, about Jollibee and when I found out there was one within walking distance of the Sheraton Centre Toronto, you bet I made the walk to try it out. They are located several blocks down Yonge Street, sort of a Mecca area for all types of cuisines and corporate fast food restaurants, but keep walking and you'll find it. You walk in and the counter is in the back of the restaurant, but it's clear the path you take to go in and go out. Staff is very friendly and they don't stop. They have online orders and in-house orders that keep the front staff and back-end staff going non-stop. I waited about 10 minutes for my food, but they were clear how busy they were and apologetic so I wasn't concerned. I ordered several items to sample as I was taking it back to my hotel room. I got their deluxe chicken sandwich, their spaghetti and peach mango pies. Keep in mind Jollibee is known for their friend chicken so when they offer a spaghetti, why wouldn't you try it. The spaghetti had a meat sauce and hot dogs with some shredded mozzarella on it. You heard me right, hot dog slices. The sauce was on the sweeter side from your traditional marinara, which made me think of Chef Boyardee. The quantity was enough to satisfy a hungry belly. The deluxe chicken was still moist and crunch after a 20 minute walk back to the hotel. The lettuce and tomato still seemed fresh and the flavor of their chicken was very good. I would order this again. The piece de resistance though was their peach mango pies. I heard they were great so I ordered 4 of them. Great is an understatement. It's almost an out of body experience where you never thought combining peach and mango into a puree and then place it inside of dough and fry it. Needless to say the 4 I ordered disappeared in a hurry. I had 3 of them after my meal and saved the 4th for my morning coffee. They are delicious and strike the right balance of sweetness that is not overwhelming. I would order a dozen of these again especially when they are BOGO. They are worth every penny in my mind. I'm going to start this review with the caveat that this is a 4-star vs other fast food places, not full service ones that I've rated the same. It's all about expectations, people! I haven't been to a Jollibee before and I was actually on my way to somewhere else when I saw it and remembered that I'd been wanting to try out this famous Filipino chain. I wanted to get some of their more well-known dishes, so I got the one-piece crispy chicken with spaghetti, and a mango pineapple drink. The fried chicken was good and crisp, definitely better than the Colonel, but a step below Popeye's crispiest offering. I had also chosen the spicy seasoning, and while it definitely makes itself known, it won't melt your face off. The thigh meat was tender and moist. It's always funny when random pieces of colonial cuisine morph into something of their own, and Filipino spaghetti is definitely that. The sauce was quite sweet, although it had layers of umami and a hint of tartness that the traditional Italian (or even American) doesn't. Some slices of hotdog added to the novelty, and the shredded cheese on top melted well when it was all stirred together. Service was super friendly, with Jollibee's custom greetings and well-wishs when your order is done. Jollibee may not be the best dining that Toronto has to offer, but it was cool to try out this unique fast food joint that has a special place in the heart of the vast Filipino diaspora. read more

We do not have Jollibee's where I am from in the United States. So after always seeing reviews on social media, I had to stop by and try it. The restaurant was fairly clean, however, the table we sat it was a little sticky so we had to clean it. We ordered variety things just to try different menu items. We ordered the fried chicken with white rice, the spaghetti, a hamburger, and one of the mango pies. I must say that I was underwhelmed. I don't know if it's just this location, so I would be willing to try the restaurant chain again at a different location. The chicken lacked flavor, but I may be biased because we had tried the chicken next-door earlier the same day and it was much better and full of flavor. The spaghetti was just not for us. I am so happy they opened a location downtown. It's so convenient and I was able to visit so many times during my recent trip to Toronto. I partly only organized my trip so I could go to jollibee. This location is clean and efficient and there's plenty of downtown seating outside. The food is the most consistent fast food I've had and so no matter what you get you will be satisfied. I would leave zero stars if I could in this restaurant. The food is mediocre for the price and good customer service is non-existent. I have visited this place twice just to give them a chance but both times I can confirm that the food here are CONSISTENTLY BAD! The dishes here are so terrible, everything that I ordered here is either excessively sweet or plain bland and uninteresting. It seems Jollibee Canada doesn't even adjust and cater to the palette of non-Filipinos or people who are not into sweet flavors and spices. I ordered the Spicy Crispy Fried Chicken and it's so greasy, oily and the breading tasted sweet. It doesn't have the taste and texture that you normally get in a fried chicken. Palabok - pretty small portion and the price is not worth it. There is limited sauce and again tasted sweet. The noodles are overcooked, tasted gummy and clumping together. The Peach Mango Pie was pretty average and the combination of the peach and mango filling didn't work for me albeit it was rather bland. Nothing special about this dessert. Food also takes a long time even though it wasn't busy. And just like what other reviewers mentioned, poor customer service seems to be a predominant thing here. Service crew members here are indifferent and will rush you in ordering so they can talk and mingle back with other crew members. They also act smug and superior as in the case of one guy who berated us for standing in line in the delivery pickup instead of the walk-in. This very popular Filipino restaurant chain opened 2020-12-13. There was a short line up outside due to limited number of people allowed inside during the pandemic. We bought lunch takeout. We bought the following: 1. One-piece Jolly Crispy Chicken with Jolly Spaghetti & Root Beer, $8.49. 2. Two-piece Jolly Crispy Chicken with Jolly Crispy Fries and Gravy, $7.49 3. 2 × Peach Mango Pie, $2.99. 4. Pineapple Quencher, $2.99. The Jolly Crispy Chicken was good and the skin was indeed crispy. The fries were good too. Love dipping both in their gravy. The Spaghetti has some cheese and hot dog slices. It is supposed to be sweeter than the usual spaghetti. The Peach Mango Pie was filled with juicy peach and mango. Delicious! The Root Beer and Pineapple Quencher (juice) were as expected. The restaurant is large and can fit many diners if indoor dining is allowed. The order staff are courteous and the order will filled in reasonable time. During the pandemic, they make you use hand sanitizer when you enter and have an entry path and an exit path. I removed one star due to two reasons: 1. The general manager insisted that my wife and I stand 6 feet apart. She said a by-law officer could inspect at any time and wouldn't know we were in the same household. I would expect a by-law officer to ask us before fining us and/or the restaurant. 2. I was taking many pictures and she insisted that I have to call their marketing department in USA before I can do so (she gave me the phone number). If I only took 1 or 2 photos, that would be allowed. I told her I do not work for a media or advertising company. There is free WiFi. Jollibee is an Overhyped, overpriced, fast food curiosity Post-pandemic Yonge street is changing a lot and Jollibee has been a long curiosity of mine as it is often hyped, by Filipino ex pats in my entourage. I found the Ordering experience rather cumbersome, as there was a language barrier with the front counter staff. I can see how this chain might mean home and nostalgia to my ex pat friends; however, I don't see the hype or the taste, especially when factoring in the very high menu prices for a fast food chain. I started with the Yum cheeseburger ($5.49), which turned out to be an ultra tiny, slider style, plain, slim thin patty burger with a slice of processed American cheese and a dollop of thousand-islandy type of dressing. It was not great, ultra small and definitely overpriced. This chain appears to be famous for its crispy fried chicken pieces that are displayed Popeyes style below a heat lamp behind the cashiers. I tried the 2 piece combo which comes with a side of fries, a 2 oz container of gravy and a 20 oz soda for $10.79. Was the chicken good? Yes it was but not the best Ive ever had, and not that far off from KFC and definitely not as crispy or crunchy as popeyes. The fries were lukewarm, of grocery freezer aisle variety and nothing special - and to me, not to the standard of other fast foods. Some diners seem to hype the spaghetti with sauce ($7.99 on the menu) and Mc Donald's Style, boxed deep fried peach turnovers ($3.49 on the menu). Both seemed unappetizing, overpriced and unnecessary but I can understand how this May mean nostalgia to a group of ex pat Filipino consumers. This was definitely more flavourful, juicy, and crisp than competing joints like Popeyes or KFC. The price was reasonable as well. The spicy chicken was actually spicy, and had great pepper flavour as well. We did not enjoy the mango-peach pie at all. We were really excited about this, but experienced nothing but disappointment on our first bite. The outer shell was nice and crispy, and not too sweet. The filling however, was cloyingly sweet and all one blended texture. We expected there to be some flavour of actual mangos and peaches, instead of a concentrated gel that just tasted like sugar. Doordash was running a promo for pickup orders so I got the spaghetti and two pieces of chicken with rice and gravy for a great price. It took around 15 mins for my order to be ready. They are super strict about not crowding the store and I waited a few minutes outside before I was allowed in to collect my order. The process was easy and quite fast despite the cold winter weather. The food was great! The chicken was quite spicy but the sweetness of the spaghetti balanced it out. Super stoked that a Jollibee is now downtown! read more
