Had a hot box on crinkle fries with a medium spice level. It was huge, with quite a bit of chicken which was cut pretty big. Both fries & chicken were fresh, juicy & crispy. The chicken was pretty tasty & the spice level matched the description. The coleslaw was moist enough & crisp enough but the flavour was muted (it probably would be drowned out by the chicken regardless). Pickles were really fresh tasting, moist, crisp & tasty.

We ordered the half and half of two flavours of your choice. The one with the green onion on it was my favourite, the sweet and spicy one was too saucy for my liking. It also came with some daikon radish that was pickled, a nice addition to the dish. The chicken stayed crunchy well beyond us finishing the dish. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. I would go back.

It's big fat chicken Nashville sandwich. Nice crunchy chicken tender dipped in spicy oil and dusted with multiple level off spice. It goes well with sweet pickle and slaw. Multiple sauces to dip in Definitely give it a try. Service was fast

Penny's Hot Fried Chicken has opened their 2nd location in the heart of Downtown Toronto, just few steps from Yonge-Dundas Square. Their Nashville-Inspired fried chicken is MASSIVE, CRISPY, JUICY, and WELL-SEASONED. How's that sound?! The chicken is halal as well. Beware of their Nashville Fried Chicken if you choose level 7!! We tried it in Very Hot, Level 5. Featured - a platter of : ** Penny's Classic Sandwich - Nashville spiced chicken thigh, coleslaw, pickles, comeback sauce on a brioche bun. ** Sweet Daisy Sandwich - Honey dipped chicken thigh, sweet jalapeño, jalapeño ranch on a brioche bun ** Animal Style Fries - combination of crinkle and waffle fries, drizzled with comeback sauce, nacho cheese and topped with green onions. SAUCY!! Reminds me of In-n-out! We can add some chili on top! MUST ORDER! ** Jumbo Nashville Tenders - Dip your tenders to their Comeback sauce and Honey dipping sauce. BOOM! TASTY! ** Mac & Cheese Wedges - a delicious sides perfect to dipped it in their dipping sauces ** Pickles & coleslaw ** 6 different kinds of dipping sauces - Comeback sauce, Honey Dip, Jalapeño Ranch, Nacho Cheese, Peppercorn Ranch, Honey Mustard. I can't get enough of this EPIC Nashville Hot Chicken PLATTER. Don't skip on adding their animal style, their honey dip and comeback sauce on the side, SLAP!! If you haven't tried Penny's Nashville Fried Chicken, you gotta do it soon!

Pretty epic chicken sandwich. I got the penny classic and husband got the hot Mac. He got the spiciest and I look one level lesser. Fantastic flavors - the rub on the chicken is pretty epic. Wow! Next the portion is huge. So we set aside some chicken while finishing the burger portion. The bun is nice and soft and the slaw in mine was yummy. Overall, I think we found a reasonable and delicious no fuss Nashville fried chicken place right in the heart of downtown. Shout out to the manager who's incredibly friendly.

Penny's Hot Chicken is better than Chick-fil-A and Jollibee. Best fried chicken I've ever had. The jumbo tenders are perfectly crisp and super juicy. Spice level is on point. I've had No Georgie and Pennywise spice levels and I was pleasantly surprised by the spice. Most places that offer "spicy" options are never hot enough for me (including the "hottest" hot sauce at Wild Wings). I've tried the small platter and loaded fries; both were amazing and very filling. I ate my loaded fries for lunch and dinner! The manager, Andy, is also super nice, got some free sauce on the side.

Delicious crispy and juicy chicken for a fair price. Great fries and great sauces. Service is good

A simple take out place if you wanted a fried chicken sandwich that's better than Popeyes and Chick Fil A. I got their hot Nashville sandwich and it wasn't bad at all for a small food stand. The chicken was made fresh and you can see everything that goes on in the kitchen. The chicken was breaded nicely with a good crunch and wasn't dry either. It had a nice side of waffle fries and ranch sauce for dipping.

Just a heads up though, if you order "mild" it is still definitely spicy, but in a good way. That said, the service was a big downside. When I went with friends, the place was not even busy, but it still took about 20 minutes for our food to come out (yes I counted because we were in a rush). We only ordered two tenders with no drink. For something that feels like fast food, that is pretty unreasonable. I also went specifically to try the mozzarella sticks, but we were told they had not even started making them and it would take another 40 minutes, which is kind of wild. Even when our food was ready, things moved really slowly. The cashier took SEVERAL minutes just labeling and staring at each box, even though we all ordered the same thing, and then another minute just to put everything into a paper bag. Maybe it was his first day? Another frustrating part was that the washrooms were locked, so we could not even use them while we were there, which was a mild inconvenience, but I think bathroom access in a spicy chicken shop is a bit crucial. On top of that, it is pretty expensive for what you get. Overall, the food is the only thing really saving this place. It tastes incredible, but because of the slow service, locked washrooms, and high prices, I probably would not go back.

Pleasantly surprised my the carbonation to syrup mix in their fountain machine (it was actually good). Interior was a bit run down and could be cleaner but it was 50% food delivery folks and 50% people going out on a Friday night (it was around 9pm when I visited)

Overall, my experience was alright. Nothing screamed out "Oh I have to go again!" or "let me tell…read moresomeone about this!". The piece of chicken on my sandwich was a rather peculiar piece in terms of its shape. It did not provide an enjoyable eating experience. When I took my first bite, after figuring out which would be an easy bite, a piece of chicken fell out which made me realize it was two separate pieces of chicken inbetween two buns. It got rather messy after having to pick up the fallen pieces. Other than that, it was flavorful but wasn't the best I've had. I prefer Dave's Hot Chicken over this. My fries were pretty salty. If given the option, I would have requested lightly salted or no salt at all. Space was small but understandable as it seemed to be a carry-out spot. Customer service wasn't quite all that. The girl took our order and that was it. Not much of a greeting nor farewell/thanks for coming. We didn't receive a follow-up during our meal to see if we may needed anything. I would have benefited from extra napkins. My friend enjoyed his meal. He stated it was a good meal but he wouldn't go out of his way to get this. He would have preferred to uber-eats it if he lived here. What made me want to go was the name. My last name is the same as the restaurant name so I figured give it a go! Same concept and menu as the Queen Street location. Friendly and welcoming as soon I enter the restaurant. Great for small groups and solo diners as well. No liquor license at this location unfortunately. Hopefully next time I'll be able to enjoy my ramen with a pint of beer. You can view the menu via QR code and order using the order sheet provided. Very easy and efficient way to place your order. I got my usual, Signature Tonkotsu ($16) with a flavoured egg (+$3). It did not disappoint. Very good and flavourful broth without being too salty. A+ for the noodles and added to garlic which enhanced overall taste. Highly recommend checking out this ramen spot! Great addition to Yonge and Dundas.

This location is newer but retains the same seating format inside as its predecessors. First thing I noticed sitting down was how inflation absolutely drove these prices through the roof since the last time I had a bowl. Got myself a tonkotsu broth (totally missed the gyokai option ... only realized once I started eating and casually glanced back over at my sheet). Added premium toppings and held off on the gyozas this time around. Some things to note. They removed some condiments from the table. The pickled ginger, bamboo, mustard greens and garlic all used to be available ON the table for me to grab as a customer. Now the waitress just asks you if you want them when she's grabbing your order sheet. I think they should revert to having those items back on the table. I'm still able to grind my own sesame seeds into my ramen at the table which is great. Taste-wise, the bowl was delicious and reconfirmed to me why Ikkousha belongs in my top 5 list for toronto ramen. Value though? That's another story... My bowl of ramen with premium toppings and a serving of extra noodles was ~ $30 after tax and tip which is wild tbh. I don't think any other ramen place is charging that or more except Hokkaido Ramen Santouka (which I would argue has debatable value as a diner because of their super small portions). Yes, as a resto owner you account for inflation but I can't help feeling that the current pricing has gone past the inflation curve. 5 star ramen, 2 star pricing/value. The quality was excellent hence the 5 stars, but mentally I HAVE to drop a star because the price is just too high to ignore.
