Cost over $20, where did the inexpensive fast food prices disappear to? Counter staff were very nice and polite. Tables and seats were immaculately cleaned unlike most other fast food locations. Got the spicy chicken option which had a nice spicy kick to it. Very moist and tender with a savory crunch. They give you a small cup of brown gravy to dip the chicken into but I didn't want to mask the chicken flavor profile so I keep the gravy to bring home I believe their spaghetti is made with banana ketchup which gives it a sweetness, I liked it but others may not. The first 3 years this location was open, it was BANGING. But recently I came back with my friends and it just didn't hit the same anymore. The chicken is still juicy as hell but the skin. Something about that skin is different. It's not as crispy as it used to be and the spicy is not as spicy as before. My intuition is telling me that they changed the recipe for the spicy chicken to dilute the spiciness. Also the chicken isn't always piping hot anymore. Which is surprising tbh since the ordering queue is STILL long these days. I thought, the more turnover of chicken, the fresher it should be right? Somehow I still ended up with a lukewarm drumstick lol. I do APPRECIATE that they give you a bowl of gravy on the side for free whenever you order chicken (you get a large gravy if you order a 4pc or more and a smaller bowl if you order less chicken). The gravy is great. Palabok fiesta, pineapple juice and peach mango pie fantastic as usual (I wish Jollibee would allow palabok to be ordered as a side but it's only served as a main on the menu). The peach mango pies are inconsistent. Some are bursting with filling, some have barely any filling in them. AFAIK Jollibee has always priced themselves higher than Popeye's, which given the extra crispyness in the skin and the unique zing from the spicy flavour, I thought justified their price point. When my wife and I think of fried chicken, our "go-to", even if it's a bit far, is always Jollibee. what really makes it stand out from other places is how juicy the chicken is - crispy, crunchy, juicy, flavourful - it has just the right amount to spice to give a (gentle) kick. My wife especially likes the palabok - hearty and warming, she finds it very comforting to have on a cold day. While the food is good, the service can be a bit slow at times. The line can be long (there's two registers), especially during peak times. Unfortunately, I went during one of those peak times so I had to wait over 20 minutes for my order, but the delicious food made it worth the wait. Why didn't they simply put more fries in that medium order to make our large fries??? 2) There's a promised time in the receipt and they broke their promise. Very poor experience as my first time at this location. I stopped by to treat myself after getting the booster shot. After ordering and a 10 min wait for my chicken sandwich and biting into it I found a large portion of it not cooked at all! For a place that specializes in chicken and taking 10mins to prepare it I'm quite disappointed it wasn't cooked through. I'm not sure now if I'm going to have side effects from the vaccine or salmonella. As of now my stomach is not feeling normal 30mins later. Not halal. I bought a single regular thigh and Spicy thigh along with a large fries which cost me $15. It's cheaper than the 2 piece combo which only gives you a regular/small fries. And this way you can get 2 thighs instead of a thigh and leg with the combo. (if you try and swap it out in the combo, they charge you for a whole additional piece. you'll be paying for three pieces but you'll only be getting two) The fries are like McDonald's only a little bit more thicker. The chicken was tasty. Very crunchy on the outside. The Spicy really was spicy! (But bearable). It's a worthy competitor to Popeye's. The only thing is that Popeyes is halal which makes it accessible and inclusive of Muslims. Jolibee gets rated down for being exclusionary of Muslims. It was worth the wait. Wait as in I waited until I got the opportunity today to try Jollibee. It did not disappoint! The order was placed on the phone for pickup just after 2pm but was told it won't be ready until 4:30pm. Hard to get a hold of anyone in the beginning as they must have been overwhelmed with orders to answer the phone. We didn't have to wait in line to pick up our order so we were in and out within a few minutes. The chicken was so juicy and full of spicy flavour that I think this might be better than Popeyes. It was in the middle of the afternoon and there was still quite the lineup, but luckily we came in before the rush and got to order pretty quickly. So glad we got a chance to try Jollibee! We've heard a lot of good things about this chain. Upon entering, there was a line and an employee wrote down our order before we got to the cashier. Once we reached the cashier, she confirmed our order. Employees are all very friendly. It gets busy in here. Indoor seating is available but most of the seats were taken. We tried a few things from their menu. Some of our favorites were the fried chicken and spaghetti. Their fried chicken was well seasoned, not overly greasy or overly salty. Their spaghetti is slightly sweet and tastes different from most spaghetti's we've tried but was lovely. Our little one especially enjoyed himself. It had little pieces of hot dogs in it. There is usually a queue to order food, but it moves along quite fast and the anticipation of ordering makes the whole ordeal of waiting in line manageable. I also like how the fast food staff are not just exclusively Filipino and it is open to others as well. I remember seeing one or 2 employees who are not ethnic Filipinos and I appreciated how they greeted me and asked how I was and if everything is OK with my order. Just the small stuff is enough to leave a positive lasting impression. The thing that I do not like is how pricey the menu is. For the amount I spend here I could have a lot more food items or bigger serving sizes in other places. Location/Service Right off the highway 401 exit, within a big plaza that has LA Fitness, Foody World supermarket. The restaurant is in the middle of the plaza, you may need to browse around a little. Plenty of parking available within the plaza. Restaurant inside is relatively big - with high and group tables available. Staff are friendly and quick as well - they have a really efficient system going on to line-up, making your orders and picking up orders. I'm quite impressed and it's way more organized compared to McDonald's or Tim Hortons. Food Pretty much devoured their whole list of menu items. Chicken itself is great! Big in portion, crispy and chewy chicken while the meat is still tender and juicy (definitely not dry). It is a little oily since it's fried chicken - but having 1-2 pieces can really fill you up. Try spicy if you're into a kick of flavor. Spaghetti - it's made into more of a Asian tasting. A little bit sweet, but very saucy and blends well with the sausage that comes with it. Vermicelli - I like this more than the spaghetti. It's glass thin noodles mixed with a bit of ground beef sauce and with an egg. Very comforting and easy on the palette (no crazy rich of flavours) Peach Pineapple Pie and Pineapple drink - both are my favourites. The pie itself is crispy on the outside, smooth and chunky of pineapple itself and a rich taste of peach. Drink is a little sweet, but refreshing to taste and a good way to wash off some of the oiliness Line-ups right now are not bad (probably around 15-20 minutes) - sort of similar to your standard McDonald's line. Jollibee seems to have a very loyal following, mostly from Toronto's Filipino community. After waiting in line for 38 minutes, I still don't know what all the fuss is about. I just had to satisfy my curiosity. They have a good system for managing the line of people waiting to get in. There are barricades and stancions set up in the parking lot to keep things orderly. Umbrellas are provided for rain or heat. Staff walk the lines providing menus and pre-orders. Once inside, however, there's another line to submit your order and pay. They give you a pager to call you when your order is ready. When they just opened, in the winter, they had two large tents in the parking lot to accommodate the masses. We ordered a 2-piece spicy chicken with buttered corn, gravy, and pineapple juice; a Yum burger combo with fries and soda; and a peach mango pie. The chicken was very good, crispy and juicy, better than many other fast food fried chicken I've had. It was dusted with some chili powder for the spicy aspect. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The buttered corn was a little overcooked for my liking. I don't know where the gravy fit into this. Was it for the chicken, the corn, or one of the other side options? The pineapple juice was good - very sweet at first sip but just right once the ice had melted a bit. The fries could have benefited from a few minutes longer in the fryer. They were pale and not as crispy as they could/should have been. I'm not a big fan of peaches but I was coerced into trying the peach mango pie. The pastry was deliciously crispy but I found the filling too sweet and artificially flavoured. I recently needed to fast before getting some bloodwork done. After I was done, I was hungry. I decided to try my hand at Jollibee. I got there on a Wednesday at around 11:25 am. Jollibee has been open for a while. I was hoping that the lineups would have died down by now. It was a good time to be there. There were three people in front of me in the lineup outside the main doors. We were waved in immediately by the woman standing at the main doors. Two words to describe the entire ordering and pickup process: organized chaos. It's organized in that you have the lineup outside. You also get a menu to look at while you are lined up inside. You then get to a woman who is jotting down your order before you get into a third line to give your order to a cashier and pay. You finally move yourself over to the pickup area with a buzzer in hand to tell you that your order is ready. The chaos part is trying to find a place to stand while you wait for the buzzer to do its flashing lights-buzzing routine. At 11:30 am, forget about finding a table to eat at this restaurant. It was completely filled up. It looked like a cross between a daycare and a playground. I saw kids running around and tossing stuff around. Speaking of toys, you can buy Jollibee toys. I didn't get around to asking how much they were. I took a photo instead, because they looked so cute. My buzzer notified me that my order was ready. The woman was detailed and carefully checked that my order was complete. Nice! I walked out the door and thanked the woman for opening the door for me. I headed over to my car and ate there. What did I order? I got these yummy items: - Jolly spaghetti and chicken combo - Fountain Diet Pepsi drink - Two peach mango pies I love spaghetti. I am typically a slow eater. Give me spaghetti and I can guarantee you that if we had an eat-off contest, I would beat you easily. I loved the Jolly spaghetti. It has both sweetness and spiciness, which were enjoyable. I love hot dogs, so the little chunks of them felt like comfort food to me. The spaghetti was al dente. It was yummy! I liked that this combo came with a single drumstick. It was a decent size. I got the regular. I enjoyed the crispy skin. It tasted like Shake 'n' Bake spices. I then dipped it into the gravy. It was good and fuelled my love for fried chicken. I still think Popeyes fried chicken is better, but this fried chicken is better than KFC's version. You get a generous amount of gravy for a single piece of fried chicken. The best part of my meal was the mango peach pie. Oh, my gosh! I had my first bite of my hot mango peach pie and felt like I had died happy. The pastry is thin and crispy. Wonder if it is my review (jk) or maybe the tents will be used for the new branch coming up in Mississauga next month. the wait time in line is 20 mins and it moved pretty fast. max line up: 20 mins and less than 10 mins of ordering and getting the food. however the later it got, the longer the line at 845pm as the line tripled in size. We passed by the place a few times wanting to find out what the hype was about. But both times the line up extended to the parking lot. We came back again on a Sunday late afternoon around 4ish and the queue was finally shorter. I did not want to line up outside in the cold for fast food. As we were lining up inside the restaurant, a staff took our order.. Originally we wanted to order the palabok fiesta with the 2 pc fried chicken combo but the staff marked the order wrong so we ended up getting a 1 pc chicken with spaghetti combo instead. Jollibee is definitely a lot slower in terms of service compared to your regular fast food chains. After placing your order, you'd be given a pager while they prepare your food. In terms of value, I'd say it's pretty good bang for your buck. The chicken was a good size, very meaty and combo comes with a side in which you can choose corn, mashed potatoes, rice or fries with gravy. Combo also comes with a choice of soda or their signature pineapple juice. I'm not a big fan of carbonated drinks so I really enjoy the pineapple juice. Their fried chicken was great. The skin was very crispy and well seasoned. The spicy flavour was hot yet addictive. The meat was very juicy as well. Fries and gravy were mediocre but the spaghetti was actually surprisingly good. I took off a star because the staff gave us the wrong order and that the line up was uninviting. I'd come back again but wouldn't line up outside in the cold for it. read more

Finally got to try the popular Philippines deep fried chicken. Very tasty and juicy chicken also try their fried vermicelli, mushrooms beef patties and peach pies, I like all of them. I finally went to see what all the hype was about. I was there waiting for a friend for a considerable length of time so I was able to see the restaurant go from line to no line to line again. I had gotten there around noon. We ended up waiting in line when she got there but the line moved quickly and there was someone taking orders before you step up to the cashier to pay for your meal. The wait with the buzzer didn't take long either. I got 1 regular and 1 spicy piece of chicken. The spicy one was marked with a little flag. I could see that the spices on the chicken and it wasn't even, kinda here and there but not all over. The skin was crispy and the chicken tasty. There was a little pot of gravy but I'm not sure what it was for because the chicken tasted better without it. I had the buttered corn as a side and it was definitely buttery. I saw that the pineapple drink was highly recommended and decided to try it. The pineapple taste was very strong. It was almost as if it's was freshly squeezed pineapple juice. I had a bite of my friend's mango pie and it didn't taste of mango as much as I had feared. I'm on of the rare people that don't like mangoes. I've been told that the burger is delicious so next time I'll have to try it. read more

Obviously this place has had lots of hype and long lineups when it opened. Went on. Cold winter afternoon and there was a small lineup (no more than 5 mins). Had the 6 piece Bucket split between spicy and original and also the mango peach pie. The original was good. I would say it is like KFC without the KFC seasoning and better quality chicken. The spicy one was better as it had more flavour and wasn't that spicy. The mango peach pie was good and crispy. I liked it overall, but I think it is more hype than anything. read more

After trying this place a few times when the hype was on, I ventured to the Kennedy Commons location again during the COVID-19 pandemic where takeout was the only option. Reasonable lineup... I ordered the Spaghetti w/1 piece Jolly Crispy Chicken and a Soda, plus a Peach Mango Pie added to the request. Service was good and the food on my third try landed in again as good. Don't know if I was expecting a more memorable meal? Maybe it's just my taste buds or it was all built up hype and a letdown that it wasn't more. Still, I will drop in from time to time. read more

Jollibee, jolliebee, jolli-jolli-jollibee! If you dont me, that's my chant for when we are on our way to Jollibee. If you get the chance you must ask me to hear the tune! Now, all kidding aside, this place is worth the wait! When I originally showed up the line was about a 20 minute wait. They take your order in the line while you wait and then when you get into the restaurant they just punch it in. Heads up, there is a $60 max per person. I ordered the spicy chicken bucket, spaghetti combo, Yumburger and vermicelli noodles. My husband and I took it to go and we ate it at home. The chicken was delicious! It wasn't greasy on your hands as you ate it. The seasoning was perfect! My fav things were the spaghetti and Yumburger. The Yumburger was so yummy like later gator to the McDonald's cheeseburger! It's a must try. Whatever sauce is on it is what makes it. Spaghetti is super yummy, and was the one dish I was looking forward to trying. It was a nice balance of sweetness in the sauce and the noodles were not bad. My husband said the vermicelli noodles were very good as well. In short, everything was delicious and I don't even have a bad thing to say because everything was worth the wait and I will be going back shortly for some delicious goodness and i suggest you should to! read more

I had quick lunch at Jollibee and couldn't believe the small portions for the little cheeseburger and fries. For 12.95 there was a tiny handful of fries and the burger with cheese was smaller than the meal from other joints. I would never come back. read more

Non-sentimental Review: It's just okay Disclaimer: I'm not from the Philippines, so I have no attachment to Jollibee. I never had it before. I've only been there once. This is an unbiased review lol First, there's a 15 minute wait on a Thursday night at 8:30pm. They give you a menu so you know what to order, but they don't actually process your order until you paid at the front. Then they give you a buzzer so you have to wait for another 10 minutes until your food is processed/made. The fried chicken is a bit overpriced, nothing special, maybe not as oily as KFC (if anyone still eats there lol) and not as breaded as Popeye's. The spicy chicken has a good kick to it compared to Popeye's. The buttered corn was deceiving little with shallow containers. The gravy is gravy. Pineapple drink was decent, different, artificial but good. Spaghetti is a bit on the salty end, but okay. Overall: It's okay. It's on par with Popeye's in my opinion. read more
