My husband and I went to Cupertinos for a quick breakfast this week on the way to go shopping in Short Pump. I got an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, and onion and my husband got a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel. Both of our sandwiches were really tasty. My husband thought his was a little on the small side but he did like his. The service was really fast. Probably within less than five minutes after sitting down at a table, our food was out. I knocked a star down because the place seemed like it was in a new-ish/updated shopping but the inside looked a little dated/old and not as well kept up - the images on the walls were a little crooked and the ceiling looked as if it had been stained by something. We would definitely go back though because it did remind of us the NY delis we'd go to when we lived in New York! While driving from Richmond to Chapel Hill, we had the chance to stop at Cupertino's and we were all thrilled with the outcome! The bagels were awesome! I had 2 plain with butter and grape jelly, we had a sesame with butter and grape jelly and then 2 everythings - one with blueberry cream cheese and one with plain cream cheese. With the line having built by the time I took my first bite, I went up to the counter and asked for a cream cheese. The guy looked me up and down and said "You got to get in line, cream cheese isn't free" I was a little taken back by the harsh response. I wouldn't have minded paying for the cream cheese had I received a way better response from this guy. Personally,I believe if I'm paying about 8 bucks for a piece of chicken on some bread, the cream cheese should be added in the price. Or I could at least be treated with more respect. I wish I had known about this bagel shop earlier! After 25 years living in Richmond, I found a nice little local bagel shop that's conveniently located in the West End. There are plenty of parking spots since it is located inside of a shopping center. I was afraid that they'd be completely out of bagels since we went in 10 minutes before they closed. To my surprise, they still had a lot left and they were so kind even though we went right before they closed for the day. They even asked if we wanted to dine in, but I didn't want to overstay since they were about to close. The bagels were good! I wish that it was just a little more toasted, but it was still fantastic. I'm sorry, but this place was a massive miss for us. We are from Baltimore and I'm a bagel fanatic so we were excited to go here. We stopped before our drive home to Baltimore at 11am on a Sunday and I really could not have been more disappointed in the bagels we ordered here. It was rather busy and definitely had the "New York" bagel shop/deli vibe and the bagels LOOKED good from a distance, but omg the second I saw it in my hand I knew we made a mistake. The cream cheese is tangy, maybe a bit of a sour taste? Really disliked it, and I love cream cheese usually.... again the bagel was dense and dry... we got the jalapeño cheddar and the cheddar on top was crunchy and hard, it had no flavor. We also got a bacon, egg and cheese and it was the saddest driest thing I have ever had. See photo. Really sorry to give it one star but it was almost inedible (maybe they we day old?
