I've had Baltik's three times so far, and all were positive experiences. The first two times, we were provided free bagels as part of resident events at my apartment building. Both times I tried the Smokeshow, despite not being a pepper or spice person. It was sooo good each time; very minimal kick at all. More recently, last weekend I roped my boyfriend into visiting (essentially bribed him with bagels if he'd go to a cat event at Furbish with me ha). Despite the icy conditions, the place was still bopping. They were efficient though, with lots of folks behind the counter husting, so it didn't take long to get our bagels. My boyfriend ordered the Smokeshow and deemed it his favorite Richmond bagel. I switched it up and ordered the River City Sunrise, which comes on an everything softie. It was so unbelievably good!! I've heard great things about Baltiks bagel and they did not disappoint! I'd been wanting to try it for awhile and was so pleased with our experience. My husband got an egg sandwich which came on their softie everything which was delicious. I loved the texture of the softie bagel and plan to get it the next time we go. I got a regular everything bagel which was also super tasty and reminded me of the bagels I've gotten in NY. My husband got a drip coffee and I got an iced coffee - I loved that it was self serve and they had several syrup options I could add myself to it. The service was fast and friendly! If you haven't been to Baltik's Bagels yet, you are seriously missing out. The classic Snowbird will blow you away. The lox was an incredibly fresh, buttery texture that melts in your mouth. Tried Baltik's Bagel for the first time and overall it was a good experience. I had the Smokeshow without bacon since I'm vegetarian, and it was delicious. The chipotle sauce was amazing and really made the sandwich. We also tried the River City Sunrise with bacon, which was tasty too. The bagels are soft, which I know is the style, but I would have preferred them toasted more for some crunch. The eggs were soft and flavorful, though a little on the undercooked side for me. I just wanted a bit more texture. One downside was that they were out of taters, which was disappointing since that's what we were most excited to try. We ended up with chips instead, but the bag was tiny and didn't feel worth it. On the bright side, the freshly squeezed orange juice was everything...so refreshing and delicious. We went through the drive thru, which is such a convenient option, and there was no line when we arrived. The employee at the window was super friendly and welcoming. This review is just based off their Duke's Hot Tomato Special, the PomoD'ORO. First of all, one of my fave parts of summer is Duke's Hot Tomato Summer. This bagel shop was the winner of the Golden Tomato (meaning they were the best mayonnaise and tomato special in Richmond). They went above and beyond with the creativity of the bagel. It was designed to look like a tomato. There is nothing I love more than cute looking food AND tasty food. This bagel met all the marks. Baltik's Bagel is a casual spot that has a drive thru as well as indoor and outdoor seating. You can order at the counter and your name will be called when your order is ready. Everyone said to visit this new shop for amazing bagels. I'm still waiting for the amazing to happen. I ordered a jalapeño cheddar bagel, that had a good bite pull, but short chew. Very delicious! Got a few sandwiches to try and a few bagels... the dill pickle cream cheese was def 10/10! We have a meeting at work on Tuesday at these bagels were so delicious that my boss is going back there (30 mins from the office) just so that we can have it again. They have a variety of bagels and even have gluten free and vegan options. I really enjoyed their gluten free bagel with herb vegan cream cheese. It was still one of the best bagels I ever had even with all the dietary restrictions! My boyfriend loved the Smokeshow Bagel. It was made with their specialty Softie bagel which was super soft while still being hearty and crispy. I definitely recommend you try this place out if you're looking for a delicious, laid back brunch or lunch spot. Order online to skip the line but if you order in shop, they will have your order ready quickly. They all looked confused when I said I had an online order which threw me off. Anyways, they find the bag with my order. The sandwich looked like kind of a mess, but ultimately it tasted good. I had chosen several subs on the online ordering platform. The sandwich I received had different cheese and a different bagel than I had ordered. I didn't say anything because I had already driven to work at that point. The sandwich was good, but nothing exceptional. I don't think I would go back or go out if my way to visit again. When my wife arrived at the pickup time the order was not ready or someone else took it (I had received a message earlier that my order was ready for pickup). Once they filled the order unfortunately, one of the bagels (Cin/Raisin) was no longer available for that day. They offered my wife a Blueberry (half of it was burnt and not edible) and a 99cent plain for our inconvenience, which really did not correct the mistake. They have only been open for 2 days and I can already tell it's going to do great! The bagels have a nice crispy crust on the outside and are soft and chewy on the inside. Honestly, the closest to a genuine NY bagel I've had in Richmond. The sandwich (River City Sunrise) was flavorful with crispy bacon and delicious eggs. At the moment it's a little chaotic with the construction but once that's over, they have a great parking lot and a drive thru window. Both bagels were fresh and tasty -- we kept it simple this time since it was our first visit. They also have a drive-thru and the option to order ahead, which is super convenient. Toppings / coatings were markedly different from one to another of the same kind, even seemingly absent on one. and several were misshapen, not closed bagel circles at all but sort of knots. When we ordered we asked for the sweet ones in a separate bag and the cashier was over the top assuring they would never mix garlicky bagels with sweet bagels in the same bag. Needless to say, all were in the same bag. We also ordered breakfast -- a salt bagel with cream cheese, a bacon egg and cheese on a softie everything, and a traditional everything with scallion cream cheese. Order was accurate. Again, toppings on the everything were uneven from one side to the other. I'm not looking for factory precision here, just some sort of quality control. The traditional bagels had good chew. The softie was an interesting sandwich, almost brioche in its consistency. We liked it but preferred the traditional style. Coffee was good. Hot take... I wanted to like it so much more than I did. All things considered, at the end of the day, I loved the Avosmash - a unique fusion of flavors you don't usually get on a bagel between the pickled onions, crispy onions, and peppers combo. The open-faced style was unique and incredibly filling. My gripes were that nobody really greeted us when we walked in the door, just nonchalantly walked in and took our food/left. Even though we had ordered 10-15 minutes prior, our food was already cold when we took the first bite - had to microwave it when we got home.
