So glad I finally had the opportunity to try this place. Arrive before 9am to avoid the super long line (but if you have to wait, it's definitely worth it). The customer service was great and the shop was so cute. There was a good amount of seating and the menu had lots of options. I went with the classic bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. Very delicious! Also, their chocolate chip cookies are so buttery and soft, I'll definitely be back!

Loved the bagels! I got the bacon jam, egg, and cheese and it was delicious. Whoever was giving out bagel orders this day was a little rude, but she didn't take away from my experience luckily.

I came here specifically for the bagels, and they did not disappoint. Even though the place was pretty busy, I was impressed by how quickly I got my order. I got the Swiss melt; which was really good! I love a sweet salty combo. Prices were reasonable, and the staff was genuinely kind and welcoming. There's also plenty of seating if you want to sit and enjoy your food, get some work done, or just relax. I'd definitely come back; I'm excited to try some of their sandwiches!

I had a great vegan experiejce at Chewy's this morning! My sesame bagel with vegan cream cheese and capers was wonderful. The bagels are really good. Not quite NY style but hey, we're in Virginia. They're crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside though which absolutely hits the spot as someone from the NorthEast! All their bagels are vegan **besides Asiago and choc chip (obviously if they have a suspicious weekly special bagel just ask). They even have vegan monkey bread but I didn't try that today.

I visited Chuy's for my first time and was not disappointed. I went on a Sunday morning. It was packed! The line was to the door. I observed you're able to place an order at the register or do a mobile online pick up, the latter being the route I may take next time. As for this visit I was ready to order by the time I made it to the register. The lady who cashed me out was friendly. You're provided with a ticket that has your number and you just wait for it to be called. There were maybe 5-6 tables inside and a couple bistro tables outside, but I got my order to go as it was so busy. The bagel itself was phenomenal. I ordered the sea salt and rosemary bagel with scallion cream cheese. It was packed to the brim with cream cheese. My was around $5 dollars, but it so well worth it. You can tell the bread was fresh. I can't wait to go back and check out some of their other bagel varieties.

Chewys is the only bagel place in RVA where you can see that the employees know what they're doing. Even when the building is PACKED, you'll get your bagel in less than 20 minutes. And also the bagels are great of course

I stopped by after I got off of a night shift. I got myself and my husband the route 60 and added egg. OMG delicious. Packed with toppings and fresh eggs. Trust their signature sandwiches and you won't be disappointed. The team was nice and there's a decent amount of seating inside. Parking is hit or miss since it's in carytown. However early in the morning their parking lot was only half full.

Hands-down, the best bagel shop in Richmond and trust me, I've tried them all! This small shop always has a line out the door so order ahead of time if you want a quick pick up. There is a little bit of seating inside, but this is definitely more of a to go kind of shop. They have fresh made SOURDOUGH bagels, sweets, and coffee.

a wonderful place - not a hidden gem by any means, people hype this one up for good reason. overall really excited to have a reliable bagel spot that's not as trendy, modern/sleek, etc - sometimes you want an old fashioned, reliably fresh, brick and mortar bagel establishment that reminds you of your hometown spot and Chewy's bagels is just that for me. As a meat-eating enthusiast, getting the Route 60 was a shot in the heart - but man did it deliver still. Trust your instincts - order the popular item, it's popular for good reason :)

Really delicious bagels and bagel sandwich filling options. We ordered a couple bagel sandwiches to-go (both vegetarian): 1) Plain bagel with Scallion cream cheese, garlic mayo, caramelized onions, tomato, red onions, roasted red peppers, Swiss cheese 2) Everything bagel, garlic cream cheese, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, red onions, tomatoes, roasted red bell peppers Absolutely delicious! I loveee garlic and the garlic cream cheese was nice and flavorful. Bagels were chewy but still soft, and although we packed stuff into each sandwich, not tooo much fell out while eating. All in all, would come here again - this rivals my favorite Bodo's Bagels in Charlottesville (and even has more toppings), which is saying a lot.

Breakfast Sammie with Bacon Jam on an Asiago Bagel

I had really high expectations for Chewy's from all the raving things I've heard. It seemed to be like any other bagel shop to me, good but nothing to run home about. I went on a Saturday around noon and there was a short line and wait. All the seating areas were filled. They sold out of maybe half the bagel options. They do have an online order option if you don't want to wait and/or risk your preference being sold out. I really liked the rosemary sea salt bagel with scallion cream cheese. I don't use rosemary often so it made me reminiscent of Thanksgiving. It was too chewy though until I toasted it. I didn't enjoy the breakfast sammie as much. It was extremely greasy and in the photo you can see the outer bagel is soaked in grease. Overall I will continue the search for a bagel to satisfy my NY craving but I also wouldn't be opposed to coming back.

Breakfast sandwiches are a big thing in RVA. I have to admit the Chewys is my favorite place to grab one! I love the unique way that they make these bagels are made of sour dough and are hand rolled. It's a great option for anyone who likes bagels but is gluten sensitive, but gluten sensitivity aside the bagel taste amazing and are toasted to perfection. Here you can make your own combination of ingredients or choose any of their specialty bagel sandwiches. You can also grab a bags of any of their bagel flavors such a plain, everything bagel, marble rye, and more. There's also a refrigerator section filled with house made cream cheese. The freshness and quality of the ingredients is unmatched. My favorite combination is a plain bagel with cheddar cheese, an egg, and fresh dill. If you're craving something sweet try some of their cookies, muffins, or monkey bread. The location overall is quite small with only a few seating options inside and a couple tables outside. The park is available on the street. If you don't want to worry about finding a chair or having to wait in line for a bagel (which is quite typical especially on the weekends) I suggest ordering online so you can swing in and grab & go. You won't regret it!

The menu had lots of exciting brunch dishes, appetizers, salads, soups and deli section as well. There were plenty of cocktails, beer and wines choices available too. Prices were decent. I picked the Jewish Sailor that was a combo of toast with pastrami and beef sausage with red onion and mustard. When the dish came, it looked so scrumptious. The…read moreowner told me they had won 3rd place in the "Best International" category at New York BagelFest 2025. I had no idea there was even a BagelFest in NYC, so naturally I looked it up. That's when I discovered that Baltik's Bagels in Richmond had won the People's Choice Award at that same BagelFest. I bookmarked it, forgot all about it, and then completely by coincidence I happened to drive right past it on my way home from DC. The first thing I noticed? This place was PACKED. It was a Saturday, so that's to be expected, but it's always a good sign when a restaurant is that busy. Actually, come to think of it, there wasn't even any parking left. I ended up parking over at the nearby Food Lion. Again, another good sign. I ordered the River City Sunrise with sausage, scrambled eggs, melted cheddar, scallion cream cheese, and normally it's served on their signature Everything SOFTIE™, their softer take on a traditional bagel that's made specifically for breakfast sandwiches. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the SOFTIE bagels when I visited, which honestly made me a little nervous because I've bitten into some hockey puck bagels in my lifetime. I swapped it for a jalapeño cheddar bagel instead and added chipotle mayo for a little razzle dazzle. BABY. When I took that first bite back in my car, that was THEE best bagel breakfast sandwich I've ever had in my life. The bagel had the perfect chew without being tough, the eggs were fluffy, the sausage was flavorful, and that chipotle mayo tied everything together perfectly. Thank God I don't live nearby because I'd be here EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. before work. Another thing I loved was the self serve coffee bar. You can make your own hot or iced coffee exactly how you like it with regular or oat milk and a variety of flavors and sweeteners. It was the perfect pick me up before finishing the second half of my drive from DC back to Hampton Roads. All in all, Baltik's Bagels absolutely lived up to the hype. After eating there, I completely understand why they won the People's Choice Award at the 2025 New York BagelFest. If you're anywhere near Richmond, do yourself a favor and make the stop. Just don't expect to find easy parking because that crowd is there for a reason.
