So glad I finally had the opportunity to try this place. Arrive before 9am to avoid the super long line (but if you have to wait, it's definitely worth it). The customer service was great and the shop was so cute. There was a good amount of seating and the menu had lots of options. I went with the classic bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. Very delicious! Also, their chocolate chip cookies are so buttery and soft, I'll definitely be back!

Loved the bagels! I got the bacon jam, egg, and cheese and it was delicious. Whoever was giving out bagel orders this day was a little rude, but she didn't take away from my experience luckily.

I came here specifically for the bagels, and they did not disappoint. Even though the place was pretty busy, I was impressed by how quickly I got my order. I got the Swiss melt; which was really good! I love a sweet salty combo. Prices were reasonable, and the staff was genuinely kind and welcoming. There's also plenty of seating if you want to sit and enjoy your food, get some work done, or just relax. I'd definitely come back; I'm excited to try some of their sandwiches!

I had a great vegan experiejce at Chewy's this morning! My sesame bagel with vegan cream cheese and capers was wonderful. The bagels are really good. Not quite NY style but hey, we're in Virginia. They're crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside though which absolutely hits the spot as someone from the NorthEast! All their bagels are vegan **besides Asiago and choc chip (obviously if they have a suspicious weekly special bagel just ask). They even have vegan monkey bread but I didn't try that today.

I visited Chuy's for my first time and was not disappointed. I went on a Sunday morning. It was packed! The line was to the door. I observed you're able to place an order at the register or do a mobile online pick up, the latter being the route I may take next time. As for this visit I was ready to order by the time I made it to the register. The lady who cashed me out was friendly. You're provided with a ticket that has your number and you just wait for it to be called. There were maybe 5-6 tables inside and a couple bistro tables outside, but I got my order to go as it was so busy. The bagel itself was phenomenal. I ordered the sea salt and rosemary bagel with scallion cream cheese. It was packed to the brim with cream cheese. My was around $5 dollars, but it so well worth it. You can tell the bread was fresh. I can't wait to go back and check out some of their other bagel varieties.

Chewys is the only bagel place in RVA where you can see that the employees know what they're doing. Even when the building is PACKED, you'll get your bagel in less than 20 minutes. And also the bagels are great of course

I stopped by after I got off of a night shift. I got myself and my husband the route 60 and added egg. OMG delicious. Packed with toppings and fresh eggs. Trust their signature sandwiches and you won't be disappointed. The team was nice and there's a decent amount of seating inside. Parking is hit or miss since it's in carytown. However early in the morning their parking lot was only half full.

Hands-down, the best bagel shop in Richmond and trust me, I've tried them all! This small shop always has a line out the door so order ahead of time if you want a quick pick up. There is a little bit of seating inside, but this is definitely more of a to go kind of shop. They have fresh made SOURDOUGH bagels, sweets, and coffee.

a wonderful place - not a hidden gem by any means, people hype this one up for good reason. overall really excited to have a reliable bagel spot that's not as trendy, modern/sleek, etc - sometimes you want an old fashioned, reliably fresh, brick and mortar bagel establishment that reminds you of your hometown spot and Chewy's bagels is just that for me. As a meat-eating enthusiast, getting the Route 60 was a shot in the heart - but man did it deliver still. Trust your instincts - order the popular item, it's popular for good reason :)

Really delicious bagels and bagel sandwich filling options. We ordered a couple bagel sandwiches to-go (both vegetarian): 1) Plain bagel with Scallion cream cheese, garlic mayo, caramelized onions, tomato, red onions, roasted red peppers, Swiss cheese 2) Everything bagel, garlic cream cheese, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, red onions, tomatoes, roasted red bell peppers Absolutely delicious! I loveee garlic and the garlic cream cheese was nice and flavorful. Bagels were chewy but still soft, and although we packed stuff into each sandwich, not tooo much fell out while eating. All in all, would come here again - this rivals my favorite Bodo's Bagels in Charlottesville (and even has more toppings), which is saying a lot.

Breakfast Sammie with Bacon Jam on an Asiago Bagel

I had really high expectations for Chewy's from all the raving things I've heard. It seemed to be like any other bagel shop to me, good but nothing to run home about. I went on a Saturday around noon and there was a short line and wait. All the seating areas were filled. They sold out of maybe half the bagel options. They do have an online order option if you don't want to wait and/or risk your preference being sold out. I really liked the rosemary sea salt bagel with scallion cream cheese. I don't use rosemary often so it made me reminiscent of Thanksgiving. It was too chewy though until I toasted it. I didn't enjoy the breakfast sammie as much. It was extremely greasy and in the photo you can see the outer bagel is soaked in grease. Overall I will continue the search for a bagel to satisfy my NY craving but I also wouldn't be opposed to coming back.

Breakfast sandwiches are a big thing in RVA. I have to admit the Chewys is my favorite place to grab one! I love the unique way that they make these bagels are made of sour dough and are hand rolled. It's a great option for anyone who likes bagels but is gluten sensitive, but gluten sensitivity aside the bagel taste amazing and are toasted to perfection. Here you can make your own combination of ingredients or choose any of their specialty bagel sandwiches. You can also grab a bags of any of their bagel flavors such a plain, everything bagel, marble rye, and more. There's also a refrigerator section filled with house made cream cheese. The freshness and quality of the ingredients is unmatched. My favorite combination is a plain bagel with cheddar cheese, an egg, and fresh dill. If you're craving something sweet try some of their cookies, muffins, or monkey bread. The location overall is quite small with only a few seating options inside and a couple tables outside. The park is available on the street. If you don't want to worry about finding a chair or having to wait in line for a bagel (which is quite typical especially on the weekends) I suggest ordering online so you can swing in and grab & go. You won't regret it!

The sweet potato was equally as good but with a much milder flavor. And the cookies....out of this world! The servers were friendly but nothing over the top. They seemed to be a cog in the machine and churning out orders. Overall, a cute little, vegan, spot with really good pastries and coffee. Head caution on the milkshakes if you are not use to vegan milkshakes. While they taste good, at least to me, they are wildly different than an cows milk milkshake. We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. The chicken salad was good enough, but I think the croissant alone would have been wonderful. The charcuterie board had a substitutions I was not made aware of upon ordering (no pepper jelly, blanched almonds instead of candied pecans, and a green onion mixed type goat cheese with bacon in it instead of maple bacon goat cheese). They did add little pickles and the presentation was pretty enough, but no flowers like the owner posted photo on here. The meat was pretty thick which could be a positive or negative depending on personal preference, and the meat was decent quality. The fig jam was very good. The waitress who was helping the other tables had brought my food out but didn't check on me at all. I had to go up to the counter again to order a cinnamon roll ($8) and a coffee ($5) which she brought out to me. The coffee was nice and dark (Cameo blend) and incredibly hot. The cinnamon roll was okay, not very much cinnamon flavor but it was delicate and the icing was decent. The interior was pretty and it was a good spot to read a book and spend a morning.
