Super moist, tender and flavorful meat and broth - definitely slow-braised somewhere at some point (who knows if they do it in-store but if they said yes, I'd believe it with this taste). The custard to-go is also an extraordinary deal at 2 for $5. Nice assortment of pre-packed flavors with a helpful handwritten expiration date on the side. I didn't get to try the burgers yet because the pot roast piqued my interest, but my wife loved hers and the few fries I stole from her plate were pretty tasty. I was also really impressed with the cleanliness of the place and speed of service. However, I did feel like I was eating in some kind of strange high school cafeteria with all the teen workers gossiping and giggling everywhere. Saw a "foodie" video of this restaurant on social media. We were in the area and decided to see what the hype was about. The burgers were really good! The buns were soft and buttery, the patties were well seasoned and flavorful. Loved the cheese curds! Definitely worth trying and we'll be back again to try the frozen custard! read more

I rode over to Culvers Apex NC tonight (4/03/2020) to get two Ruben sandwiches with my BOGO coupon that came in Sunday's newspaper. The coupon states buy one deluxe sandwich get one free. Both the cashier and the manager told me that it really is not for their sandwiches but for the hamburgers. I just had a deluxe hamburger three days ago so no, I wanted the Rubens. I even showed the menu to them with the sandwich section and the burger sections. I have been a regular customer almost weakly since it opened. I really loved the place but tonight the customer service I received was so abysmal I will never go back and I will be telling everyone I know how I was treated. I requested extra crispy fries. Got them cold and far from extra crispy. Requested the bun extra toasted. Bun was normal. Called location and Savannah spewed the risk of burning the bun and they chose not to run it through the bun toasted again. I guess they can't lower the temp or just put it in the grill. She said they cooked the fries 10 seconds longer. Lame excuses for poor customer service. read more

My daughter got the chicken fingers with a shake. The food was good. The burgers better than the fries / onion rings. But nothing was all that compelling. This is probably the most popular fast food restaurant in town. It took more than 25 minutes from lineup, order and get the food. I ordered giant fried shrimp, fried cod and chicken tenders... custard, milk shake all delicious I had no complaints about food. But it was way too slow and they definitely need more training how to get the right orders. read more

Wanted to see what all the hype was about with this place. So we stopped by today to get lunch. I got a deluxe bacon with no bun, and two chicken tender kids meals. The beef patties were so dry and tough to eat it was disappointing ( cookout has better burgers), I got two sides of Wisconsin cheese sauce that I was super excited about but it wasn't even hot, more like room temperature and was told they only put 2 oz per 3 oz container. But you can obviously tell it was less than that, another disappointment. Their chicken tenders tasted like ones you can buy frozen at the grocery store. I'm leaving two stars cause the fries were pretty good, and maybe just maybe I came on a bad day. For me it definitely wasn't worth the wait in the long line or the price. read more

I ordered the Veggie burger which is unusually really delicious at other Culver- like Charlotte and Harrisburg. This location needs to be retrained on proper cooking of veggie burgers. I ordered this product at this location three times now. The issue is the inconsistencies of cold burgers. My daughter and I went through the drive thru. We thought the line looked very long but it turned out to be pretty quick. The employees are nice, friendly and efficient. We both loved our burgers and crinkly fries. I got a deluxe burger with cheese and the works. Also, my daughter had a chocolate custard milkshake. Terrible service. They forgot most of our order and then questioned us on if we really purchased what they forgot. It took so long to get everything that our ice cream was melted. I've got quite a few burger reviews so this is meaningful.This place is brand new in this part of the country and after hearing about how great the burgers were at Culver's where my wife grew up in Colorado I had to try it. At first blush I was not overly impressed although the building is beautiful and the facility has been nicely designed. It was a little chilly in there and I kept my coat while I was eating. The bathroom was the cleanest I've ever seen in the bathroom and that means a lot. OK now onto the burger... The burger was delicious! When I first got a look at it it looks like it was upside down and the cheese wasn't melting over the burger so I thought... Great I'm getting a cold burger for lunch. Boy was I wrong! My first bite was incredible I bit through a delicious meaty buttery crust which I guess is the butter burger signature bite... I don't know how they do it, but it was delicious. It was a big burger as I got the double and I didn't think I was going to finish it but how could you not finish it? It was delicious. Now onto the fries... They were crinkle fries like the ones they used to sell us at the school cafeteria, But they were so crispy on the outside and so delicious on the inside. They were perfect. Last few times I've been to the Apex location, I have found the burgers to be tasteless and lack a unique personality. Can't put my finger on it but I think the meat is simply under seasoned or not seasoned at all. Buns are rather doughy as well. Just not a great burger from what they are known for. I heard good things about this new opening so I tried it out. I did drive-thru on 5pm Saturday night. DRIVE THRU EXPERIENCE: Parking lot was full. Drive-thru path has a good length, there were a few cars in front ordering. After you order, there is a window to pay then you're given a number to pull-up and wait for the food to be brought out. Person at the window was nice and courteous. Food came fairly quickly considering how busy they were. FOOD QUALITY: I ordered two of their Deluxe combos and a kid's deluxe, two flavor of the day Turtle Dove. The patties are thin, cooked well-done with some burnt. The burgers taste like your average fast-food, nothing too great but nothing too bad (except the burnt). The fries were crispy and fried perfectly, I was pleased. The ice cream did not have too much of a yolk taste, was sweet but not overly sweet. The chunks of chocolate, caramel and nuts were good. BUT, I ordered two double scopes and received two single scopes...so this was a bummer. OVERALL: Average. Typical fast-food style, nothing that stands out as amazing but also not super terrible. My only mild complaints were 1. patties slightly burnt 2. incorrectly received two orders of single scope sundae (instead of the double scope ordered). My praises 1. So glad to have Culver's in our neighborhood! They are usually delicious and dependable but sadly, tonight was an exception. We both ordered Reuben sandwich and onion rings for me and Chicken Noodle Soup for my husband. Once we sat down, an employee informed us the soup wasn't available anymore, so we both got onion rings. The Reubens were soaked in a broth, rather than the meat being lightly drained. They fell apart, since the bread was saturated. Better luck another time. Big fans of Culver's and very excited to have one so close. We have been to this one now 4 times already. The staff is very nice and helpful and the food consistently good at this location. I haven't had an issue waiting and everything came out hot and fresh. I would recommend specific items but really you can't go wrong. The kids meals are a great deal with the included frozen custard, which is delicious. The burgers, chicken, tenderloin, soup, salad, cheese fries, cheese curds all favorites. So hard to choose. The burger was top quality. juicy and generous. Fresh toppings, cooked to perfection. The firs were spectacular as were the onion rings, hot and crispy. I am a root beer aficionado. Culvers is great. I wish it was available in bottles. Custard was smooth and creamy , perfect end to a great meal. Price was incredibly reasonable, portions generous. Staff was amazing.
