Tried Mezeh for the first time today and it was actually really good. I got a bowl with shredded lamb and chicken kebab. Both were juicy and really well spiced, especially the lamb.. super flavorful. It's a create your bowl or get what they have in menu... signature bowls/wraps. You just pick whatever you want and they put it all up in a bowl for you. Lots of options, so you can make it spicy, mild or just keep it simple. Everything tasted fresh and filling. Loved crunchy chickpea on top. I would go again and try a different combo next time.. maybe honey harissa chicken or chicken shawarma :D read more

Placed an online order outside the restaurant, as I saw a long line when I arrived. Waited until I got an email that my order is ready, and went straight to the spot where they put all the take-out orders. Guess what? There was nothing there. Tried to speak with one of the guys working there, they completely avoided me and were "super" busy with the customers in line. I patiently waited and only when all the customers (who were ordering there) were done, they started working on my order. By the way, no one acknowledged my presence there, no eye-contact, no smile - nothing at all. Seemed pretty rude. Perhaps they were short-staffed or tired, I don't know. Now going back to the food - At least that was really good. We ordered couple of build-your-own-bowls and build-your-own-kids trays, and all of them were awesome & tasty! Harissa sauce, spicy hummus, shawarma's - all yummy!!! And maybe that's the reason I'll probably come back again and also because they serve halal. Good overall has some room for improvement. The food options are good and quite healthy. The service is reasonable, but seems to be overwhelmed with delivery orders, I wish restaurants provided priority to serving the in the room customers or at least had one dedicated person to do that. In terms of the food they seem to be overloading with rice and mixed greens I will ask them next time to not to put too much hopefully this feedback reaches the owner. I don't mind a smaller bowl but I would rather want more veggies than rice. Will try again and see if they make it better. The dressing was too little and I wish they would mix it. read more

They open at 11 on the weekend. We ordered online at around 11:30 and set pickup for 12pm. There was no customers in the store. I told the employee i was there for an online pickup and she scrambled to put our ready orders together. I picked up 3 orders and each one was missing 2-3 sides. None of our sauces were given. We all received pita but they were raw. Just an overwhelmingly mediocre experience. Will not go back. read more

The food was good at the Bowie, Md location. However some items weren't available such as the Eggplant. The young man that waited on us, said we had to pay extra because i had 10 items in my bowl and anything else would be $1.00 each. I asked when did this start as we've been coming here since day 1. He immediately said and pointed to the lady working with him and said she said to charge extra. I called corporate and ended up leaving a message with my concern to call me back. I looked on the website and it says unlimited toppings, only a charge for extra protein which is understandable. When she noticed I called corporate, she told him not to charge extra. What a delightful experience this was today for lunch. Mazeh is a cute and colorful place for lunch. They have many options to choose from and all of the food looked yummy! I opted for a make your own bowl which comes with as many toppings as you want. I felt like I had enough food for three people. I could only eat half and will have the other for lunch tomorrow. The chicken and brown jasmine rice was my base and I loved all the toppings: beets, chickpeas, baba ghanoush, olives, lemon garlic sauce, and so many other toppings. This comes with a warm, soft pita which was perfect with the dips. I will be back this week with a coupon and look forward to it. What a horrible place. I'm pretty sure I gave it one star before, but they pay companies to remove negative reviews. Review: This place would be rated one star. Don't even attempt to go here. When you get there, the doors might be locked two hours before closing, and the staff might laugh at you and others waiting outside -- refusing to open the door. Yes, this happened: The service here isn't inconsistent, it's consistently terrible. I could put up with bad service if the food was good. But I guess this customary to keep your doors locked when your facility looks like a jail instead of a restaurant. Concrete floors, metal chairs, and prison food behind the counter. Let me tell you about the food: the greens are stale, the meat is tough, and the smell makes your eyes water. I wouldn't even wipe my bottom with the Pitas, because they'd probably crust up and fall apart. If I wanted to eat carpet, I'd ask my girlfriend. I love Mezeh any location I go to in North Carolina. If you love pickled beets, pickles onion, olives, tomatoes, and taziki, this is the place for you. I've gotten keen on the falafel and mix with shawarma with all my 8-10 other favorite ingredients. Sometimes they run a BOGO 50% or free special. I'm a loyalty program so I earn a free bowl and let them stack up before redeeming. The music inside is actually nice when they play it and hear a lot of tunes I own. Well, this is now the only Mezeh left in the Triangle, sad to say. I made the drive to Alex so I could use my $10 birthday discount. I had always been a fan of theirs, but I felt the franchise had take a bit of a dip in recent years. The fact that roasted vegetable are not considered a topping, but a protein, which is hogwash! But anyway, the gentleman put my bowl together, though I had trouble understanding him as he didn't speak English too fluently. A few things went wrong. First, he put way too much Shkug sauce on my bowl, so it actually was not a whole lot of fun because it was so spicy. But certainly the ingredients were fresh and very good quality. Secondly, they have fewer juice options than they used to; there isn't a green juice option anymore. Also, they needed to do a better job of keeping the place looking good. TLDR: Flavorful Mediterranean cuisine for a decent price. I recommend the customizable rice & greens bowl. I've been to other Mezeh locations in the past and had positive experiences. It looks like the Apex location is the only one still open in the Triangle area. While in the area we stopped here for several rice bowls to go. Mezeh is similar to other Mediterranean customizable bowl locations. This is subjective but it seems like Mezeh is more generous than other similar restaurants so you end up with more options and portions (without an extra charge). They do understandably charge extra for double full portions of protein. One of the employees seemed reluctant to serve the ingredients requested, however, I'm not sure if she just had trouble hearing us. The other employee was more welcoming and patient. We enjoyed the bowls and liked the variety of options and large portion. I consumed my falafel bowl over the course of three meals. Only thing I wish I changed is that I asked for more dressing. The hummus and tzatziki were delicious, it just needed more of each! The bowls were spicier than anticipated. It wasn't overwhelming and we liked this fact. The accompanying pita was also good and I like that they include this with no additional cost. Overall, we would eat here in the future and recommend Mezeh to others! read more

They are just sitting there and laughing. The Uber eats driver found they left the side door open. We went in -- not a single word. Where are our orders? The lady points to the shelf and walks off. We came here with a coupon promotion and thought it was average. Honestly there are too many choices with all the toppings. It is a chipotle-style Mediterranean option and you build a bowl or pita or pocket. We had chicken bowls and a pita yet both commented the chicken is lacking in flavor. By the time I added all the toppings, it was too much mixed together to distinguish between the flavors. The decor is really neat and exotic. For drinks they have natural teas and juices and you have the look on the website to find the ingredients and calorie/sugar count since it is not labeled. They have seating inside and outdoors. I came here during lunch which was a mistake. I can tell they're still short staffed but they are really doing the best they can so I give them kudos for that. So be prepared to endure some kind of wait. They have plenty of toppings to choose from but depending on the bowl size you are limited to that number. My reason for the 3 stars is I added roasted chickpeas or spicy chickpeas (can't recall) to my bowl and it threw the whole bowl off. The reason was they were very stale! So, that in itself made me want to trash the whole bowl. The ambiance is you average restaurant no big frills, prices are again the average, as everything seems to cost more these days. This is the fourth local Mezeh we've visited for lunch, and it's pretty much like all the others, with lots of protein and topping options and very-friendly service. The Mezeh chain is definitely our favorite of the build-your-own Mediterranean places in the area. I would say that for the roasted eggplant alone, but they have many more protein and topping options than any other place around, and I'm particularly fond of the falafel. This place has seriously delicious bowls that you can put whatever you want on it, they don't have any limit on what you can add which is nice! Mezeh is by far one of the best healthy food spots I've been to. I was thoroughly impressed by the variety of toppings and selections they have- probably 4x as many as chipotle. The bowls are pretty massive and very reasonably priced so I always feel full and satisfied when I'm done. If you like spicy food like myself, this place will cater to your taste buds for sure. This is a great place to get fresh Mediterranean food. The staff were very friendly. This having been out first time here, I was a little overwhelmed. I walked in expecting there to be a menu board with premade entrees ideas, but there were none. They have hand held pamphlets that guide you through each step of the process. You start by selecting your "base"; a bowl, a wrap, or a pita pocket. You then move onto whatever you want on/in it. They have a variety of options from proteins, veggies, sauces, etc... If you are a soda person, they only have a few coke product options, but they do have several mixed juice options. I thought the cost was a little on the pricier side for the amount of food, until I actually started eating. Depending on how many toppings you get, you could easily split a bowl with 2 people. We added the falafel and the lamb kefta with our bowls. The lamb was very good, but I'd didn't care much for the falafel. The falafel was cooked perfectly on the inside, but the outside was hard (it felt like I was crunching on tiny rocks). With that being said, I will go back again, but I won't get the falafel. It's right near a newly busy parking lot with Starbucks, bonafide bake shop, Dominos etc nearby but there is a lot of overflow parking in the back. The ambiance of this place is industrial-chic. There are high exposed ceilings and colorful furniture. It is ready-made food so it's fast-casual - you pick your options for the bowl and then they create the bowl as you'd like. Starting with greens or grains (I usually get both). There are many vegetarian and vegan options like falafel or vegetable kofta which are both deep fried. There are also chicken and beef options. I do wish that they had a potato/sweet potato/tofu or other option that isn't deep fried. There are beautiful salads to put in your bowl like cucumber sumac and roasted vegetables. There are lots of humus choices and spices sauces. I always get a lemon garlic dressing on top and love the fresh hot pita that they serve. I have withheld my review for some time to give them grace. It is so hard to find staff and there was a period when we would order online and pick up only to get home and find out the order was a bit wrong. Lately, this hasn't happened so I am happy to write about the helpful, sweet and kind service. I liked to sit there for lunch outside in warmer weather and I love how fresh and quickly I can eat during a workday lunch or evening dinner after we played at the park a bit too late and would rather just grab something quickly. Went back to grab a quick & healthy meal last night. We loved Mezeh & have been to several other locations but this one seemed to have quickly gone down hill. The staff behind the counter were all surly and rude. When I was choosing the toppings for my bowl, the girl behind the counter had an obvious attitude that I was inconveniencing her time and made no effort to hide it. She carelessly threw each scoop into the bowl & whatever missed was just scraped into the nearest food pan. Cashier likewise was lacking in customer service and was surly as well. I asked for napkins & was pointed to the utensils/ drink counter. I asked because there wasn't any to be found. She sighed heavily in displeasure and trodded over to look for herself. She opened the cabinet opened a pack of napkins, plopped it in the bin, turned her back & walked away without a word. I'm not expecting white glove service but that was just downright rude. Husband went back to the counter to order an extra bowl to bring home. They ran out of the regular bowls and gave him a plastic container. The amount of food in that smaller container amounted to about half of what the bigger bowl contained...& yes it was full price. We won't even go into the attitudes at this point. While he was up at the counter, there were also numerous people waiting for their mobile order with orders lost or just not ready when promised. I just came across this darling restaurant as I was feeling rather peckish! The smell of the restaurant singed my nostril hairs with, some may call it the smell of baking pita bread, but i like to call it PURE JOY. I was then greeted by a striking young woman with beautiful ginger hair. She completed my order, in a timely manner, with the most delightful smile on her face. I wanted to stay at mezeh all day! I've eaten here many a time, and generally the food is pretty good - so much so that occasionally we've ordered take out, and have used their grab and go and online ordering to get our meals. Fast forward to today. Ordered dinner for the family and went in to pick it up. On my way out the door I looked in the bag and some of the dishes seemed very small - like less than half full. So I popped off the top and looked. My dish had chicken shawarma in it. Missing; corn? missing; spicy hummus? missing. I walked up to the counter and started asking questions. First the response I got was "we made them to order", then I asked about the missing shawarma, and was told "Oh, that's my fault - we are out of a lot of things and so we left it off". No attempt to call me (my number was right there on the ticket) and no attempt to notify me when I picked up the order. Apparently their policy is "if we don't have it, and you ordered it, we just leave it off" I asked why they didn't call, and was told "we didn't have your number." I pointed out to them that they online ordering system indicates they'll call for problems with the order. I asked when I picked up the order why they didn't notify me - was told "well, sometimes we have a lot of orders and its hard to keep track". I asked why they didn't substitute chicken kebab for chicken shawarma, or regular hummus for spicy hummus (both of which they did have) and was told "we don't want to give you something you don't want." At the end of the day, there wasn't much of an apology, or interest in keeping me, the customer notified of when they leave stuff off. That entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth (or perhaps lack of taste from my missing spicy hummus, corn, and shawarma.) We will go back? Probably not likely. Management doesn't care about giving you what you order, and that kind of callous attitude to the customer stinks of carelessness, and if they are willing to short change you in one way, it's likely that attitude is pervasive throughout the restaurant... We each chose the bowl offering for lunch and each chose which of the excellent variety of Mediterranean items was to be included in our bowl. Considering the amount of food in each bowl, the pricing was appropriate. The service line staff were friendly. All said and done, we each chose our options well and enjoyed the meal. The items were fresh enough though, in my opinion, they would have been fresher had the table where items were on display was of a better design. Each item was open to the air and subject to drying out, most notably the rice. While we were there the room temperature was probably cold enough to hang meat. We will return. read more

We ordered the custom Wrap with Falafel and "Mezeh had a little Lamb" for lunch. Let me start with the Lamb bowl, the lamb had no taste, half the ingredients that go in the bowl were absent like the pilaf, turnips, mango, all missing plus there was no Tahini sauce. It was dry as paper. Secondly, the custom wrap was also missing most of the toppings like the eggplant, cucumber, turnips, roaster vegetables and the worst was they did not put any of the sauces. Without the sauce its just impossible to eat this since its so dry. And the sauce we had asked was nothing fancy, just tahini and tzatziki which are like the most 2 common sauce of the Mediterranean dishes. In short - DO NOT ORDER ONLINE.
