Desperately in need of a quick Sunday night meal after working out. This probably wasn't the best choice. Upon entering I was not acknowledged by a Hello or anything. Someone at the register finally asked, "Are you ready to order?" Well, I thought that's what I heard. I'm standing at the order sign. Well, she walked away and put on gloves, and started fixing food. Somehow I heard her talking to one of her peers and then they asked again. I told her, I said yes to being ready to order. Then one of her peers said, asked had you already ordered. The female apologized. My thing is, if you're acknowledging customers properly you would know who has and has not ordered. Are you working under the influence?! This was weird. Anyway, put in my order for the #16 meal. It's turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. A different female at the register asked during the transaction if I was in the rewards. I did not know, so she says, "You can register online." A better way to add value is to go ahead and sign me up yourself. Smh It was fixed quickly like lighting. Was the food good? It was ok. The bread didn't seem as fresh as I recall. I asked to add basil, oregano, oil, and vinegar but I could not taste it. Will I visit again? Probably not. We went to this location at 1pm on Friday, April 19th. I asked for a sandwich with only cheese, (We have picky kids), and they put veggies on it. It is a very common mistake and we had just come from a long couple of days at the hospital and I probably wasn't as adamant as I normally am about this point. Regardless, we needed them to remake the sandwich and they wanted us to pay for an additional sandwich and wouldn't let us keep the wrong one. I honestly didn't even argue with them because I didn't have the energy and we just walked out. I am so disappointed with this situation, I can't even express it. In general about jimmy johns: fresh baked bread, fresh sliced deli meat, fast as lightening. They carry their own brand of chips that are on par with national brand chips like lays or kettle brand. My favorite sub chain in NC! I always order the white roll for my turkey or ham because it's so darn good, but they have whole wheat bread too. And they're fast--sometimes my sandwich is ready before I've gotten my change back. One of the things I appreciate most about Jimmy John's is that they always have the right bread to mayo ratio. There's nothing especially fancy about the place--expect lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, and sprouts for toppers; provolone is the cheese offering; and they carry all the basic deli meats (turkey, roast beef, salami, capicola, and awesome applewood smoked ham) plus tuna salad. They also offer yummy hot pickled peppers and avocado spread. It's not much more expensive than a $5 footlong from that other chain, but it is so much tastier! read more

JJ's is one of my favorite chains. They aren't in my home state (Massachusetts), so my first experience was in NC. If you haven't been here, it's a no-frills sandwich shop. You can get sandwiches on a sub roll, whole wheat sandwich bread, or in a lettuce wrap (called the "unwich"). You can also add cheese (provolone only) and specify toppings you don't want. That's about it, and your sandwich is ready in under a minute. It's good stuff, but some people don't go for it. This location is ok. It can be tricky to park around lunch since there are quite a few businesses in the strip, including Starbucks and Brueggers, There are tables outside near Brueggers, but they don't have umbrellas, so you'll be eating in the sun (in essentially a parking lot). Inside, the music can be very loud to the point where it's hard to have a conversation. We've had to ask them to turn it down on a couple occasions (is this a sign of getting old?). read more

Speed, Speed, Speed. I am not sure how these people make a sub sandwich so quick, or what laws of physics that they might violate...but it is the fastest prep I have ever seen. You place your order, walk to the other end of the counter to get your drink...and just when you are done...BAM - your order is ready. Ninety-seconds at the most would be a good estimation. They have two different size subs, a standard 8-inch and then a "Giant Club." The bread for both of them is exactly the same...8-inches. The only difference being that the Giant Club has double the meat and cheese for just a few bucks more. Hi, I had never been to a Jimmy John's before so I thought I would try it and support local business. First, there were no customers there; bad sign. Then, the guy who was cashier was really in a bad mood. He was rude and didn't like answering any question I had. He did not ask me what kind of bread I wanted, and it was on some kind of white flat looking loaf. I wouldn't call it a sub bread at all. I learned from the guy who handed it to me that I could have had a wheat bread. They don't cook bacon, so I asked for it separate so I could microwave it at home. I've had the italian night club, turkey tom "unwich", vito, JJ gargantuan and my new favorite the hunter's club. I've never been disappointed with the taste. Next they are fast and they deliver fast. I practically live next door so when I order, my sandwich tends to be at my door in less than 10 minutes...sometimes even 5 minutes. Seriously, they told me 15-20 minutes and it was here in 5. This is your run-of-the-mill Jimmy Johns. But it's a good chain that I like, and this location in particular is quite good. So there you go. The one thing I don't like is that this place is located in a weird spot that's not too hard to get to, but REALLY hard to leave. And it's not really a location to walk to. But all in all, it works. I've been ordering from this location since it opened. Since this area doesn't have many delivery options, Jimmy Johns is my go to (and a great hangover cure for me!). Out of all the time since offered delivery, it has always arrived within 13 minutes (except for once when it was storming fairly hard). The sandwiches always meet the same quality standard each time. The bread is freshly baked daily! And they have have a lettuce wrap option for the calorie conscious folks out there. The veggie sub is the only vegetarian option, however, it's customizable per your taste. The sandwich alone is plenty filling but I always go for the chips with it. They're so good! Usually I can make 2 meals out of the sandwich and chips, esp when having it for lunch. read more

I get a little salty over how little meat is in a chain sandwich shop sub, so I opted for a Giant Sub choice which promises "twice the meat" as the regular subs. I can't imagine getting a sandwich with less meat, seriously - the meat was minimal. The only good thing about the place, really, is that it delivers. I am not real familiar with the menu board, so I just told the young man that I wanted a club sandwich, to which he replied that they were all club sandwiches. I then looked again over the board until I found the one with ham and turkey. I then told him we wanted it on sandwich bread, to which he replied that it was all sandwich bread. I think he could have been a little more helpful with an older woman. Not used to being treated like this by his generation. I told him I would pay extra and was still told no with an attitude to go along with it. So I waited a few min for another person working behind the counter and asked him. He happily gave the extra condiment without any hassles. Then when the first guy saw what was going on, he scolded the other guy for providing me with the condiments. Well, I was attempting to find a decent sandwich place...but I found a place that manages to make Subway look like a great option. I stopped in here while it was pretty slow. I asked the guy for an 8 inch with swiss. "We have provolone, not swiss." Ummmmmm, ok. Those two aren't even close, and what type of sandwich place doesn't have swiss? I tell him provolone is fine. I'll take vinegar on that. "Vinaigrette? ok" he says. Umm, just vinegar. You have that, right? "No we only have vinaigrette." Again, what type of SANDWICH place has no vinegar? Ok, give me the vinaigrette on the side. "We can't do that." At this point its getting absurd. The guy making the sandwiches chimes in "I can give it to you in a water cup, but I can't give you a lid." To the best of my knowledge this place probably only stays in business because of their delivery service...but they don't have containers for to go? I am confused. I then ask if they have hot peppers and he points to a bunch of big jars on a shelf. I say, ok...that's fine. So of course I get home, after driving carefully with my water cup full of 95% oil, vinaigrette. I open my sandwich to find no cheese, or peppers....and I had to dig through a pile of lettuce to find the meat. I think the only positive thing I could say was the roll wasn't too bad.
