This is a review simply for their soft-serve. You know that soft serve that you typically get from a Chinese buffet? Icy, milky and delicious. Well those are few and far in between in the area and we were craving it badly. We remembered that Jason's deli has a soft serve similar to it and decided to make the journey out to try it. It was just like I remember. I got the chocolate and vanilla swirl in a sugar cone and it was pure bliss. Took me right back to childhood. I have such a love hate relationship with Jason's. This location has been fairly inconsistent for me, but I'm not sure if that's because I've only tried them during Covid land and beyond or if this is how they always are. If you do online order, the food is never ready at the quoted time. It's either super super fast so then your food is cold or it's super super slow and you're waiting for a long time. The quality of the food is hit and miss. Sometimes the half sandwiches make you wonder how they don't have a better way of cutting a sandwich in half so it's an actual half sandwich. Other times the food is on point and totally hits the spot. For a no frills, deli essence food spot, Jason's is great. There's something for everyone and the food is relatively decent. If you're expecting a 5 star deli, go someplace that can specialize, because Jason's reaches too far so the quality is spread too thin. The ambiance is exactly what a Jason's is for the last ten years. To be fair, this location is super clean even if it doesn't feel as modern as you'd like. read more

Stopped in for lunch today for the first time since covid started. The employees are friendly, pleasant, and helpful as usual I appreciated the precautions they're taking, all employees wearing masks and gloves, sanitizing tables, sanitizer avail for customers at the salad bar area which is not operational anymore (you can pre-order a custom salad bar option), providing silverware in pouches. It all made me feel like they're doing the absolute best for their customers who must wear a mask when entering, ordering, and leaving your table for self serve drinks. The Reuben was as tasty as ever and my spouse enjoyed a chef salad and noted several times the 1,000 island dressing (which I believe is used on the Reuben) was delicious. On Wednesday, June 18th, 2024, around 5:45pm I called in an order to go. After three attempts on the phone, I was finally connected with a person. The two previous attempts failed as the phone rang for over 4 minutes each time with no answer. Upon arriving to the deli and entering through the takeout door, I noticed they had a line between 12-15 people for dine-in. The cashier's name was Raven. She informed me that I would need to get in the dine-in line even though they have a specific door and register for takeout. I was ready to leave the sandwich when a customer from the other line said take care of him (meaning me). After ringing me up, the counter cook brought my order. I asked the cook to confirm my order. I gave explicit instructions for a Reuben with no sauce and added lettuce / tomato and blue chips. The last two times the order was messed up by leaving out the sour kraut and blue chips. This time was no exception. I've eaten at other Jason deli's (i.e., Hampton Va, Wilmington NC, Brier Creek Durham , NC) with no issues like this. It's this location that doesn't address problems that occur over and over. I called them out before for their lack of attention to the salad bar and the management's response was "we strive for 100%". They like to offer platitudes rather than admitting there is a problem that needs to be addressed. I hope this is the last time I have to communicate with this location for failing to offer satisfactory service, much less extraordinary service. Management needs to be held accountable and use this as a teachable moment. read more

I enjoyed Jason's and heard so many good reviews previously. A friend treated me for lunch today and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered A Reuben The Great and Beefeater. Service from the server was excellent. We decided on side salads. To our pleasant surprise, side salads score you a trip to the salad bar ! The salad bar was clean and fully replenished. I had spring mix, spinach, topped with rotini pasta salad, artichokes, banana peppers, cucumbers and a Greek vinegarette and humus. The Reuben The Great was one of the best I've had. The meat was good quality, not full of sodium and sliced thin. They did not add alot of dressing which I appreciated. The sauerkraut was great to add probiotics to my meal. All fresh and tasty. What makes a good Reuben is the marble rye bread. It was perfectly toasted and soft. We also enjoyed the sweet watermelon from the salad bar. I tried a lemon poppyseed mini muffin. Very tasty. Very busy at lunch time, but as is normal for Jason's Deli, you can skip the queue to pay for the salad bar at the kiosk. With or without soup/drink. That's just awesome. The salad bar is well maintained and the couple dozen different items were fully stocked and well cared for. Lettuce, tomatoes, peas, beets, all sorts of healthy things and then the not-as-healthy potato salads and pasta salad and the salad dressings. I think I managed to do okay. The dining area was very busy but at least two associates were busy clearing and wiping tables. I almost always opt for the unlimited salad bar for $8.29. They have quite a few menu choices that include sandwiches, wraps, salad, desserts. Etc. you can also do half sandwiches, or a combo of sandwich and one trip to the salad bar. Speaking of the salad bar, it's one of the best around. There are so many fresh veggies and they are always fresh. I really like the variety of dressings and other toppings as well, like nuts, seeds, and breads/crackers on the side. The order taker asked for my name, and after I paid, got my beverage, and sat for longer than I expected, the order taker came and found me at my table. This location is never on time with curbside orders. I've been sitting waiting for curbside for 20 minutes now. The people behind me are doing the same. If the website gives you a specific time to be here to pick up an order it should be ready by then. If they can't complete the order in that time then the online order system needs to be fixed so the employees can actually complete the orders in the time provided.
