I had a taste for their fish dinner so it won out over several other choices today. Usually Sunday early afternoon can be very busy with the after church crowd, but somehow we made it in and thru the line quickly. I was so hungry when the food came I just dove in without getting a photo. If you haven't tried their cod yet, do. I got a one piece diner which comes with two sides. I chose their cole slaw, which is quite good, and onion rings, that surprisingly weren't greasy. The cod is just fantastic. Thick and flaky and always cooked perfectly. They have their own root beer at the fountain, diet and regular. It's comes out very foamy so tip your cup when filling it. That helps, but it still takes time for the foam to subside and then add more. I wish they sold it in the grocery stores. It's that good. They have really cute cups too. The ice cream or custard I'm not so crazy about. It's very thick and when getting hot fudge it isn't hot and they only put it on one side of the cup along the inside wall. Strange. It literally takes 20+ minutes to get a chicken tenders and fries meal thru the drive thru at 1:40pm on a weekday. They take your order at one window, your payment at another, and then hand you a sticker to sit in the parking lot with until they mosey out of the restraint to find your car and hand you food. I have never been to Vulvers until today. What a different fast food place. I ordered the roast beef sandwich with horseradish and all the toppings. It was a very tasty sandwich. It was a pulled roast beef not deli sliced. I had an order of onion rings as a side. They were some of the best in the area. A crispy coating with a soft inner layer of onion. A very good texture and taste. I will definitely be back to the apex Culver's . My, granddaughter could not finish her custard, so I had the remaining custard. It was an aggravating visit. I had 45 minutes between appointments. I stopped in with my husband at lunch time. We waiting for the food to be delivered to our table. I knew we were in trouble when people that checked out or sat down after us got their food. I went up to the front. I could see my gluten-free bun on top and I told them. Ok - they're busy and would do it. They were waiting for something. I waited 5-10 minutes more. Long story short, I went back up after waiting nearly a half hour to get my money back. Where I come from a Cheeseburger, single patties or double, comes to you with melted cheese on the pattie(s). This restaurant was very clean and service was fast and good. We ordered the 3 piece codfish meal.. it cost around $16 I thought they were a little skimpy on the coleslaw. I had never tried Culver's before. We stopped in on a Sunday at around 5, and it was surprisingly pretty busy for such an odd hour of a Sunday. My BIL said it was like a better valued version of Shake Shack and I would say it's a pretty accurate description. You order at the counter, they give you a table number, grab a table, and someone will bring your food to you. Someone even came over while we were eating to see if we needed anything. Never seen this as a fast food place before! (or even some sit-down restaurants for that matter, LOL). We tried the Culver's Deluxe Butterburger, cheese fries, and some cheese curds. The burger was a bit salty but I must say, it was a pretty good burger. The fries are reminiscent of Shake Shack fries, but at half the price. I loved the cheese curds, but it could have used some sort of dipping sauce (if there was one, I missed it). For the custard, they have flavors of the day, which is pretty cool but I don't know how they keep up with that. Hubby had the blueberry cobbler, which was a little too sweet for me. Next time I'm in town, I'll just go back to basics and get plain vanilla. read more

The parking lot was slammed when I went by for supper. But they had plenty of staffing and it didn't take me long to order. Got my order number and found a seat pretty quickly, considering how packed they were. Clean interior. The servers were very friendly. I went to get their walleye fish sandwich that is only available seasonally. It's not your regular pressed fish sandwich. The walleye was tasty and nice and flaky. I visited this location with my fiancee on August 29,2025 for lunch. We each had a burger, cheese curds, and chicken tenders. The cheese curds weren't the best I've had from this franchise, but were serviceable. The chicken tenders were fairly good, and the burgers were flavorful and hardy. The staff was friendly, and efficient. And the atmosphere was casual. It should be noted that this was during a peak lunch time and we received our food correctly, and quickly. Best burger I've had in a while! It tastes like a burger straight off the grill on a summer day. (Granted, I was super hungry after a long, stressful work day and I've only visited once, but I was impressed.) Also, the custard is delicious! I thought Goodberry's had fairly good custard (and I also thought I wasn't much of a custard girl) ... until I tasted Culver's custard!!!! The scoop of vanilla custard in a cup and the concrete with crushed Oreos mixed in were both great choices. My picky teen and pre-teen were pleased (and I was regretting that I didn't order custard after trying both of theirs! *kicking myself*). A few things we ordered were just regular (i.e., "meh") like the chicken tenders and the crinkle fries. The beef pot roast sandwich was "good," according to my teen. Hence, only 4 stars (the burger and custard made up for any disappointments!!!). We used the drive thru so I cannot rate the indoor dining experience, patio dining experience or the curbside pickup. During some time off, I treated our son to a place I came to love about 15 years ago. Since moving away from my hometown and state about 10 years ago, I hadn't eaten at a single Culvers so this visit was overdue. Our son doesn't eat ground beef so he ordered an adult grilled cheese with bacon and sauteed onions with fries and I ordered the Culvers melt with a side of cheese curds. Just as good as I remember and there wasn't anything left. As a matter of fact, it was so good, I placed a second order to go so that we could travel back 25 mins to my wife's work to drop her off some. Service was so attentive and friendly that my 14 YO boy even acknowledged how friendly the staff was. Keep this up Culvers!! Everyone loves Culver's for their fresh made food and their awesome customer service. Sadly, I was beyond shocked at what I saw Saturday afternoon around 12:45pm when I ran inside to get a sandwich. Admist the sea of teenagers, masked and wearing blue gloves working hard during the lunch rush..... a lone man working the fry station bare handed. I watched him reposition every single bag of fries with his bare hands then fill more bags with fries. If you ate there between 12:30 and 1:30, I guarantee the palm of his left hand was all over your fries....Had this been 2 years ago, I would have been impressed with his speed and neatness in keeping them perfectly aligned to fill orders. Today, all I see is a guy who is placing his own comfort well above the safety of his patrons who are the good citizens of Apex. Who is this inconsiderate fry master?? Welcome to the area! For so long, I've always had to go North to the Midwest for my Culver's fix. I'm happy that there's another Culvers in the area. Although I live in Durham, I made the drive all the way to Apex to for my fix. Was it worth it? Heck yea! Fantastic customer service as all locations! That's definitely the selling point. I went all out with my order, I got... Double Butter Burger: If you want the full burger experience, I highly recommend getting the double. The patties are thin so two will be best. The burger was fresh and juicy! I can't wait to get another one! Fries: Delicious and hot out of the fryer! I really enjoyed it. Cheese Curds: Make sure to ask for ranch! It goes well with it! Enjoyed it as well! Ice Cream Sunday: The smoothness of the soft serve is like nothing else. You get two toppings. You can order it and redeem your ice cream Sunday after you finish your meal. Now this is for the burger that was missing, but I was still out of a burger that day that I paid for. So this burger coupon is for me go go back and get my burger I paid for. Do you want to visit a place that has a cult following? Why do I say cult following? It's because my intern from Wisconsin drives about an hour each way, from Durham, just to eat here. It's a big deal up there, he tells me. The ambiance is similar to any fast-food place - well any busy fast food place. There was a table nearby with 5 young women after high school (assumption), applying makeup, doing homework. In another corner there is a family of five. There are couples without kids and couples with kids. The service is certainly on the sincere side - sometimes friendlier than other times but only likely due to individual shyness. My son spilled his water all over everyone and the table and floor and the staff quickly helped clean it. My son loves the food (chicken tenders, fries and white milk) and they give you a token for a free custard with a kids meal or you can order it free with a kids meal.
