Since I started using them 15 + years ago, theit competence and customer service has deteriorated beyond belief. I've had way more downs than ups at this Walgreens since Rite Aid closed. They are the busiest in the area so I'm not sure why they don't have longer hours, even if it's to closed to customers to fill Rx's to get caught up for the next day. They are almost always grouchy which makes sense since they are so busy. Going to change pharmacies so they will have one less customer to deal with. read more

Walgreens Apex actively practices medication discrimination. They refuse to fill medications for cancer pain, and refuse to fill multiple controlled substances. I first noticed this with Walgreens 10 years ago and moved to another pharmacy. Out of a monopoly in the area, and the available hours, I tried again. Walgreens also refuses PHYSICIAN overrides on medications. Each store has different policies. This Apex Walgreens should be investigated by the FDA. read more

I was given a prescription with 2 different pills/ medications mixed in the same bottle. When I went to the pharmacy to get it sorted out, I was treated like a criminal and told it was my fault, that they couldn't have done that. Run, don't walk from this Walgreens!!!!!! When we moved to NC from FL in 2018, we transferred my husband's prescription to a Walgreens on Avent Ferry road in Raleigh NC. Of course he had started a new job, so we had different insurance, but they were able to locate his info in the system from when he had a script filled in CA. I was ready for a hassle, but it all went smoothly and I picked up the script that day. Fast forward to a few months ago and this awful Walgreens in Apex is now our closest option. The first issue with this Apex store was in December 2018, his new doctor's office sent in the script for the next 12 months. We waited a few days and it wasn't filled. My husband inquired about this and for some bogus reason they didn't fill it. Now it's March 2019, he received a text from Walgreen's a few days ago, which admittedly he did not thoroughly read, I guess he should have hit yes in the reply for the refill. Still, this is odd, because I am fairly sure we set it up to be AUTO refilled as I was with him when he picked it up in December. Unfortunately, we did not find out it wasn't ready until we got to the store today. The pharmacist told us it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, so we left, stopped at the post office and Walmart. We came back at least 30 minutes later and it still wasn't ready. I was fed up at this point, so I'm transferring this script to another pharmacy. Worst Walgreens in the Cary/Apex area. I live like a block from here so I so wanna like this store. The store itself is fine; well stocked, and clean. It's the service that has gone south. I tried to drop off a new prescription today but, as usual, there were five or six people already in line so I bolted for CVS. I understand pharmacies are busy, but this location always has way too many people waiting in line. Obviously since the volume is consistent, management should easily be able to staff the location properly. Lastly, this exact situation occurs on the front registers on a consistent basis. Trash service and trash employees. I don't even know where to start...Any of the good reviews on here are definitely fake and it's almost obvious enough at this point anyway. The staff is so lousy and they refuse to do their job. Had to drive 40 minutes to another Walgreens to get vaccine shot only to find out THEY DO ACCEPT WALK-INS. The rude lady working on 11/1/21 told me that I have to be schedule online and refused to help. I've had a number of issues with this place regarding prescriptions and photos as well. Used the drive up pharmacy which is always convenient. My 8 week old has terrible reflux and I was on very little sleep- was informed they were very understaffed that day and the Rx he desperately needed was not ready. Also was told it was not covered by insurance. The pharmacist took her time to speak with me and put my mind at ease- promising me I would have it this evening and to try calling the insurance. I left with some hope but was on the phone with the insurance company when the pharmacist called me to let me know she spoke with them and got them to cover the rx. I am so thankful for her kindness in helping an extremely overtired mommy trying to advocate for her infant. read more

I have been using Walgreens for a long time- from NYC to Seattle and now here in Apex NC. My first experience with them here & honestly it was one of the best customer service experience I have had in any business. Debbie in the Pharmacy was not only polite and accommodating- she also went out of her way to save me some $$ for one of my prescription by sharing her info on brand discounts. She walked me through the sign up be waited for me to complete. Literally saved over $400 on the visit. She could have just as easily run the transaction w/o the extra work. Absolutely impressed with this Walgreen. The front cashier also greeted me and said goodbye- made eye contact and was cordial. Absolutely fantastic customer service experience. Thank you! read more

Several of the pharmacist are very rude and ignorant. I am not sure if the pharmacy staff is in fact clueless or simply do not care that they are supposedly in the healthcare industry and it seems to have gotten worse since 2023. I am tempted to record conversations with the pharmacy staff as I have frequently been blatantly lied to or the staff is simply abundantly ignorant. IRL Example: Thursday - I phoned and communicated with the pharmacist on duty that my medication (received monthly) was only partially in stock thus an order was placed and according to the manifest was scheduled to arrive the following day. Friday (the following day) - I phoned and spoke with the pharmacist on duty who informed me that the medication wasn't in stock, but she placed an order and it would arrive after the weekend. I was astonished and told her that it was the exact same reply I was given by her colleague the day before. Undeterred in her ignorance, she states that she 'personally' made this order and unless I could provide evidence of the computer order her colleague saw and what exactly she said, there was no other options but to only accept what they had in stock or waiting for Monday, since going elsewhere would need a new prescription. I asked what the process would be if the same thing occurred and 'mysteriously' this order wasn't honored the same way the previous order disappeared. This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. The pharmacist Erica treated the black customer in front of me in line so badly. She refused to talk to her, put in her new insurance information, fill her script, or let her pay out of pocket. After an hour she finally did serve her, but then wouldn't ring her up because they were now 'closed' and shut the window in her face. As soon as she left the rest of us in line (white) were helped after 'closing'. The whole thing seemed very racist, Erica was even having white people cut ahead of the black customer in line. Slowest Walgreens ever. I have been trying to use this pharmacy for prescriptions since they opened at the previous site of Apex Funeral Home. They are slow to fill prescriptions because they are more concerned about not honoring the goodrx coupons than getting the line moving. Twice recently I tried again to deal with them. The first time, a guy tried to charge me double the price that goodrx had given me on the coupon. I pushed back, he fiddled around for five minutes and then said, I got it to work for you, and some excuses about how it was a goodrx problem. NOPE. Because months later, same thing happened, this time a woman again told me, it's double the price I was supposed to pay. I refused and left, transferred the prescription to the next Walgreens down 55 at Jenks. Guess what? They gave me the right price in about ten seconds--no long wait for them to mess with the computer. What are they doing? It takes me about ten seconds to pull up anything on goodrx site. No reason to be jackoing around on the computer so long, get the job done faster or get someone that knows what they are supposed to be doing. read more

I have tried to write a complaint to Walgreens who conveniently do not have a portal working properly to leave a complaint. I tried to contact customer service and they are encountering long wait times. Quite simply I have met one of the most unhelpful and useless employees ever at the 511 W Williams Street location. It stems from signing up for a vaccination, and I have had all my vaccines as well as many trips for discretionary spending at this location. I am comfortable with the store even though there are closer pharmacies. I will simply state the one star rating is over generous. Although there were appointments available, they could not find mine, made me download a walgreen app on my phone to sign in (which took over a half hour), went back and the same individual who stated "you still don't have an appointment", I asked well can I get one or wait for one and was met with a blank stare. I don't understand how employees sensing distress and confusion can't take 1 or 2 minutes to assist a customer. I left without my shingles vaccine and I will never step in a Walgreens again even if my life depended on it. No prescription need or product need could drag me to this or any Walgreen because of the appalling lack of sensing a customer needed help and refused to give it. If the world is coming to putting it all on the customer to fill out information on their cell phones when they are at the counter, we live in a sad world and apparently this is what Walgreens allows their representatives to do. The least amount of customer service for what they are paid to do. Obviously this Walgreens paid this individual far too much and gave them too much authority with their Walgreen badge. read more

I presented to the labcorp in Walgreens in Apex, NC for a drug screening on 12/30/2020. I arrived at 9:58am and was in the aisle waiting to be called and/or texted for my turn. While waiting there were other people also in line waiting. There is no signage, seating area, or clear directions where to stand or be while waiting. The technician Crystal came to the door and was extremely rude to one of the gentleman waiting. He stated he received a text so he was waiting to enter. However there was another female waiting who's turn it actually was to be seen. Crystal went on to bluntly state " stand back 6 feet and I'll call you when it's your turn!" There was no customer service in her demeanor whatsoever. I received a text message notifying me it was my turn. I stayed where I was and when the female client ahead of me exited I continued to wait patiently. Approximately 45 seconds later Crystal reappears at the door and states my last name. I walk toward the door and present my information ( ID & Lab screen form). Crystal then makes an announcement for " everyone to wait until she states everyone's full name!" I have a unique last name, so I was well aware no one else in line has my last name. I asked Crystal if she could be nicer as her previous interaction with the gentleman in line was very curt and rude and she's being rude to me. I informed her that her communication was so troubling that a different woman in line went to seek a Walgreens manager to report her behavior. Crystal became very upset after I told her this and went on to state that " that has nothing to do with me! I'm employed through labcorp so Walgreens ain't my boss!" I informed her I am a healthcare professional and that her behavior was not professional and very rude. She proceeded to start the drug screen process by asking me to lower my mask. I explained my reservation about doing this and Crystal yet again began to raise her voice and be rude. Crystal stated " either you can lower your mask or we don't have to do this healthcare professional or not!" I asked her to not speak to me like that and lowered my mask as she asked. Even after I lowered my mask she went on to rant about "not dealing with this today!" and make rude unprofessional comments. I again asked her to not speak to me like that. She said she would not proceed with my drug screening and had her co-worker complete my drug screening. Her co worker whom I believe was named Tameka was phenomenal. We completed the drug screening, however it appears that the system was still logged in under Crystal's name as her name is on my post drug screening printout. I wanted to comment on my experience because it was just so negative and unnecessary. Crystal did not show any professionalism, customer service, or control of herself at all. I will not be returning to this labcorp location and will notify my colleagues ( doctors, NP's, PA's, RN's, & MY Patients) to not utilize this location because no one should have to feel the way I feel after my experience with Crystal B. at the labcorp inside of the Walgreens in Apex, NC. read more

Every script I have ever dropped off in the past 2 years for my family of 5 has taken at least 6 hours, but many times it has taken DAYS. My husband is Asthmatic and has been waiting on his prescription for his inhaler to be filled for 5 days now. He leaves town for CA tomorrow and still does not have his inhaler. my local pharmacy Walgreens in Knightdale NC 27545 has been a problem from day one. I went up there yesterday on November 11, 2021 and they could not fill my prescriptions or transfer my prescriptions due to a computer problem. This is very bad for people that need their medication due to severe health issues. I went back up there today November 12, 2021 and the pharmacy was closed and there was a sign on their door stating "there was an emergency the pharmacy is closed and we will be open hopefully soon." due to this issue and others. Mistake after mistake after mistake...and now they make a mistake involving my little sons medicine! This location use to be reliable but over the last 6 months it's the most unprofessional and unreliable pharmacy I've ever seen in my life!!! They jade the incompetent audacity to call my wife tonight to ask when and why she hasn't picked up my sons script...just hours after they told her they didn't have my sons very important and necessary medicine ready and after being rude to her and blaming it on the doctor not calling it in. This seems to be a recurring theme of mistake after mistake. I got a call a couple weeks ago my script is ready only to find out it's not (after waiting 20-30 minutes in the slowest line ever). Then they have the audacity to say they've been working on it ...oh really, since when...maybe since I got there and after I gave you extra days since I didn't pick it up for a couple days...liars! There's more too but given how important my sons medicine was tonight (which I won't say what it is for privacy reasons) and then literally arguing with my wife saying they don't have it and it must be the doctors mistake and also won't try to look him up another way like something as simple as a DOB makes me never want to give them business again. Both Whitney and Derrick were so amazingly patient, courteous, and professional ... and not just to me ... but I witnessed them doing the same multiple times with others in the process of helping me. And most importantly, it was genuine, and if not genuine, then they sure as heck did an amazing job faking it. Here's my take on Walgreens and especially this location...service with a smile and happy employees. This is the main key to any successful business. Secondly, well lit, organized and clean store. The Walgreens in Knightdale NC needs a minus stars category. The staff is rude and incompetent. The pharmacy has become dangerous. 1. They filled one of two prescriptions and now they say that I permanently have to pick them up on two different days. 2. A very rude cashier suggested a generic med to replace one of my expensive prescriptions--however, the generic med was not the same drug for the same condition at all. 3. I had to go back to get crushed capsules replaced. 4. I have to go back because they gave me 28 capsules instead of my prescription of 30, and I have to wait for them to inventory that med to prove that the mistake is theirs. I waited in the store for over an hour for rx transfer. was told by Ericka, the pharmacist, that it was never received. Went to Harris teeter and was shown a confirmation, then called Walgreens to see if received and Jackie tells me, "first let me clarify that I don't usually work at this pharmacy." I told her that I did not need her to clarify that and she hung up on me. I go into Walgreens and ask Jackie for the manager and also ask if she was the one who hung up on me, she gladly said "yes I did." Then tells her customer that she drove over an hour to work at that store. I blurt out "you don't need to be here." Jackie asked me if I wanted her to leave, then finished with her customer and tells Ericka, "I'm leaving" and clocks out and leaves them hanging. Wow! The technician at the drive though turns around and says to me "thank you very much." WOW! I ask Ericka, the manager, to file a complaint and she stands there pissed and at the same time explaining the transfer. I tell her I have been patient and will continue to be patient however this does not justify why you would blame your interpersonal problems on a customer and treat me this way. She angrily asks do you want me to handle this or do you want to go higher up? The store manager had to get involved due to the unprofessionalism of the staff and at this point I am crying and my 3 year old sick child has been waiting for me for over an hour. I arrived at Walgreens at 11:20am and left at 1pm. I have never in my life been so humiliated and mistreated by a bunch of so called health professionals who chose a career to be caring and compassionate to the people in need of their services. This was my neighborhood pharmacy, but as long as these people work here I will never go to this store and I will spread the word to all of my family, friends, and colleague's, as I am a healthcare professional as well. This pharmacy does not model excellence in any category and they should be ashamed to have Ericka and Jackie and the tech at the window who thanked me, working for this company. Get rid of them or you may be at risk of litigation in the future. read more

SEVERELY short staffed. I consistently wait 45+ minutes in the drive-thru lane to pick up medicines no matter what time of day it is. You'll sometimes wait just as long if you go inside because there is usually just one or two people trying to fill prescriptions, take phone orders, work the drive-thru, and handle in-store customers and they can't do it all. It's the closest pharmacy to me, but I don't have the time to wait this long any more. EDIT: They also hang up on customers who wait on hold, and also ignore their phones ringing. My husband had to drive to the store after getting out on hold for long periods then hung up, and he saw he employees ignoring phones. Awful. read more

I have been at this Walgreens for a while now and I should have left a long time ago but convenience has won out so far because the other pharmacies in the area do not have the hours or drive through. That saying I would avoid if you can. Here is what has happened personally to me so you can make your own choice. On two separate occasions when I was picking up prescriptions for my two pets they mixed up the medication once they associated the medication for one pet to the other and vice versa. The second incident they filled the wrong strength for them. On both occasions they said I was wrong until I showed them I had copies of the prescription and compared them to what they filled. Consistently I have some type of issue with a prescription and frequency when I call in the call center can not help so I wait twice and then when I talk to the local store I have on multiple occasions been told different reasons for the issue each time I call in and if it does not resolve itself and I speak to the pharmacist they will give me the correct story which is usually not what I have been told by the technicians. The pharmacist has always been able to take care of the issue and has always been nice about it and I have spoken to several. The majority of the technicians you speak to it is never their fault it is yours. The default I have been found has been to blame me. I have even been blamed when the auto refill went wrong that was automatic. I have had them lose my prescription. I have had them give me a prescription of mine I did not request to be filled and btw if you are at the drive through and you pick it up they will not return it even though they filled the wrong one and even if it is a prescription you do not take anymore so buyer beware. Even if they have patients that they now will take a medication every month they will not stock it if it not one of the inventory they normally stock so great customer service. They do an extremely large volume compared to most stores so they really don't care. I will not say that there are not some nice folks working there but I will say I frequently say I need to find a new pharmacy 3 out of 5 visits. read more
