The customer was not great and I asked the cashier if she had an issue because she looked at me weird after telling her to give me a second to take this out of the shopping tote. I then said should we have the manager come up. Another girl walks into the store and hears the conversation, sh them proceeds to stand right next to me as I'm checking out which is not okay. Then the manager comes up. The goal standing next to me and some random guy said I was being rude. The girl who walked in said, I use to work here and is behind the counter. She had on scrubs. I go to this store often as I live in the area but will not spend my money in Ulta anymore. I can order the hair and skin products directly from the companies and get my eyebrows done at another location. I'm a Diamond member so this is all disappointing. read more

It was confirmed to me this morning that, as I am older, indeed, I am invisible. I went to the Apex Ulta store, to get a refill for my Lancome make-up. Unfortunately, the specific number I needed was not available on the shelf. I went to the front of the store to ask for help. The cashier responded by using her phone to call someone who could assist me. Shortly after, a young man dressed all in black arrived. However, instead of acknowledging me, despite my noticeable white coat--he walked right past and began talking to the cashier. Almost simultaneously, a young woman also walked to the front. Like the young man, she passed by without noticing me and started working on the counter with her back turned toward me. After these interactions, I felt overlooked and invisible. I would recommend the salon at Ulta in Beaver Creek Commons. Full service hair salon includes full color bar Redken), braids, blow outs and treatments. I can only speak to my experience with Jamie, Elite Stylist. She is very good at understanding exactly what my hair goal is and achieving it. She also really evaluates and treats the scalp, hair quality and overall hair health which I really appreciate. Jamie has executed my color, cut and blow out every time. I have seen her interact with other customers and she always has a friendly professional approach. Keep an eye on the Ulta app for salon bonus points. read more

After swiping the card a second time, Jessie then tells us the first charge will be voided. I popped in here mid-week around 2 pm, so the store was fairly quiet. I am completely clueless when it comes to makeup, so I need help picking out the right shades for my skin. This store is conveniently located in Beaver Creek with a lot of other shops. There is an abundance of parking too! I'm not a makeup junkie, but if you are, this will be the perfect spot to come to. I was greeted by someone at the register who was ringing up another customer's purchase. I proceeded to walk the aisles with a clueless look on my face and a friendly young lady offered to help me. She was great, she helped me pick out the right makeup colors and even showed me how to apply them. It was not an intimidating experience. I did splurge on the Clinque foundation, but the sales associate listened when I said I otherwise wanted less expensive products for the rest of my face. She didn't push anything too expensive, the manager then helped me. Both employees were great to work with and very pleasant. I only put makeup on maybe 4x a month, so I don't use a lot of it. My annual makeup splurge on this trip was $81, which is a lot, but I supplement with some less expensive brow and lip products from Target. Ulta did have a buy 2, get 2 free on the store brand makeup products, but still it all adds up. The cost is my overall con on this place, otherwise a good experience. read more

This Ulta location is close to home so i go here if i need something ASAP. I try avoiding it as much as possible though since most of the items are not in their original packaging. Coming to the Salon and waxing services they totally suck. I went for a hair wash and simple blow dry and came back with oily looking flat hair. And the lady who did my waxing seems to have no idea what she is doing. When I mentioned it to the lady at the billing she just shrugged and said "it happens". I was like seriously?? Worst Ulta I've ever been to - customer service is non existent. I used to live in Morrisville and go to the Ulta on Park west village and I never had an issue. I just moved and the first time I go to the Ulta on Beaver Creek I had my transaction suspended to get an additional item. When I get to the register again I was told I had to go do the line all over again - which sucks as there were several people but then they had to get rude about it. I left my items, will cancel my credit card from them and never go to an Ulta again. I don't have a problem following the rules I do have a big problem with rude sales people. read more

Living in Apex, the Beaver Creek Commons Ulta location is super convenient for me. I love that Ulta has a range of high end to drugstore beauty and hair products all in one place. I also love their return policy; if you purchase something and you decide you don't like it or something is wrong with it, you can return it for a full refund, which is amazing for skincare junkies like myself. This particular Ulta store is pretty disappointing as far as their selection of products. For example, I adore a particular Revlon lip product, and this store doesn't carry it at all, but I go down the street to Target and they're fully stocked. I also use a particular "Not Your Mom's" conditioner that's pretty hard to find, and while this Ulta carries the brand and even has a place and a price tag on the shelf for the conditioner, it has literally never been in stock when I've tried to purchase it there. Pretty annoying. I asked a sales clerk why it's never there and she just said that it was a popular conditioner so they sell out fast. But wouldn't they anticipate for that and just order more? This Ulta location is just okay. It's a convenient location for me and does have some of the products I use, but if you go here I would definitely suggest calling beforehand to check and see if they have what you're looking for in stock. read more

I spent a few days looking for hair dressers that could cut my curly hair. Unfortunately all the ones we called were either closed or didn't do curly hair. Finally we decided on Ulta and it was the best decision I could've made. I saw Alexis and she did exactly what i asked for and as a plus it smelled and felt great. Overall, this store was unimpressive. Some of the products on the shelves were a little messy and disorganized, particularly in the drugstore makeup area. The shelves definitely weren't full, or even made to look full. Two women assisted me, but barely, and I was pretty much ignored during my search for a specific type of make up. I love going into the Ulta in Beaver Creek. Angel is personable and never fails to greet me when she sees me. Brandon offers assistance and is honest with me about how a product looks--like if it matches my skin or if I should try something else. He's great about making recommendations, and I've purchased quite a few of my current favorites because of his expertise. Gloria cuts my hair, and she's wonderful to work with because she does exactly what I want. All of the other employees are helpful, friendly, and eager to make sure I can find what I'm looking for. My only complaint has nothing to do with the employees but more to do with the size of the store. I wish they had the complete Estee Lauder and Clinique lines. Not sure why the place is getting such bad reviews. They sell so many different products, have coupons and a rewards card that can save you money. Makeup is not cheap especially high end but they sell both types (high and low) and you can save a great deal. When they do BOGO on the large hair products you can really save big. They do have so much stuff it can be over whelming - just be ready to spend some time unless you know exactly what you want. love that they carry great upscale cosmetics, however there are no carts in the store, you have to carry around a little basket, so you have to hold bigger items while shopping and finding items on sale is also a task, i have found it hard to find some of the sale items, because they were not marked........... I grew up in deep south and I've experienced more than my share of racism. I think I've become somewhat immune to it at this point. However, when it is blatantly directed at me for no other reason but race I take notice. I was out of my BareMinerals makeup and usually I would order it online from Amazon, because of a previous experience at Ulta. I was followed throughout the store and not asked if I needed assistance, but the white woman who was down the same isle I was on was asked if she needed help, this was after I'd been stalked in the store for over ten minutes. I live in the area so I figured I'd quickly grab what I needed and leave the store. I naïvely thought that the way I was treated the last time was an isolated incident by an ignorant employee. I could't have been more wrong. I went into Ulta and headed directly to the BareMinerals, I found the powder and concealer I needed, now at this point I should've just went to the checkout counter, paid for my items and left, but I saw that there was a sale on kits that included what I needed, plus some other products I wanted to try. While I was looking at the kits a woman walked up to me and said (in the rudest voice) "can I help you?" Always the optimist, I replied, "hi, I came in for foundation and concealer, but I noticed that you have a good deal on the BareMineral kits." She looked at the kits, looked me and said, "we do, but I'm pretty sure we don't carry them in your color." Then she walked away. I'm sure if there was such a thing as a "black person's card" mine would've been revoked on sight because of my response and reaction. I said ok, bought the foundation and concealer and left the store without saying a word to anyone. To my defense, my husband was waiting in the car with my crying 1 year old and I needed to hurry home to make dinner. That's a bad excuse...maybe I just didn't want to face it. There was one young, miserable, black woman in the store and she was a cashier, who seemed to be a new employee. When you go out of your way to mentally put yourself in a denial bubble, and you're treated poorly solely because of your race, it forces you to deal with it. If you don't physically face it by saying something, you face it internally and that hurts worst. I went into Ulta, as a consumer who had already experienced terrible customer service, to spend MY money on items I could've purchased from somewhere else. Insanity is doing the same thing multiple time and expecting a different outcome. I'll blame insanity for my going back into Ulta. I will not patronize the Beaver Creek Commons location nor any other Ulta store. As one person, what I write won't make a difference to Ulta, but hopefully it helps to prevent someone else from going through a bad experience. It might also help someone who's experienced a similar situation at Ulta, to not feel alone. read more

This was the first time I had been to the Salon and my experience was phenomenal. I went in with a color correction and was not sure if it was fixable. Gloria was my stylist and I will continue to go back to her. She really took her time thinking about what needed to be done with my hair and talked me through step by step of what she was going to do. She asked me about certain colors and tones of what I wanted and showed me what would look best on my hair. She also cared about the integrity of my hair and gave me multiple treatments in order to produce the best possible outcome. She did the most beautiful balayage I have ever received along with a root smudge. It looks so natural and I greatly appreciated that she took the time to tell me each step she was doing and why she was doing it that way. I have gone to many hair stylists and we have discussed what I had wanted and then I received a completely different outcome that I was not happy with.
