Needed a storage unit as the other company, by Home Depot in Corona, had horrible customer service. They never returned calls that were left for them and the office was always closed saying manager on property. Though when I drove around the property he was never around. Good Luck borrowing the so called free rental truck. I Found Cube Smart Corona and they had a great sale going on. The facility grounds are clean and maintained. Natalie at the front desk provided excellent customer service as she called and verified all my information ahead of time, and her and Dominic made it a smooth transaction getting into my unit and setting up payment. Took payment over the phone, answering my questions and took me on tour to show me availability as there is 4 floors including climate control and a customer who apparently was challenging. So far 4 storage units have been broken into in one week. No security cameras inside the storage buildings. Owners do not plan on getting more cameras. There are a few on the outside of the buildings however they are old and videos not clear and grainy. Not safe to put anything of value. read more

And lo and behold, my unit was burglarized. 2 Months later, the gate access doesn't work. Came at 6:30 PM (should be open until 10), can't get in. I'm now told you can only get in during office hours! So only the hours I'm supposed to be at work. When I complained, too bad! Parts are on the way but "we don't know when it will be fixed". I rarely leave bad reviews, but I'm pretty bummed out on how this place has gone downhill the past few years. We went today (Sunday) to access my unit and the gate/keypad was not working so I could not open the gate to access my storage unit. No one is on-site anymore on Sundays, so I called the 800 number twice and the support line tried to contact the emergency number as well as the district manager, neither responded nor called back. Of the 45 minutes waiting I watched several people reach through the gate and open the door. One person said it had been like that for the past week. This is unacceptable for a business that claims security and accessibility for their customers. The employees are involved in theft. they are extremely rude! the police have been notified but somehow they manage to elude the police and make it seem like random thefts. Theft Warning at CubeSmart Because I don't want anyone else to ho through what we went through. We looked for a secure and tempered controled location and choose Cubesmart because they we only open during their business hours and appeared to be very secure. They stated we needed to at least pay for the minimum insurance so we did exactly that in April 2022 and put our things in storage while we had our house built.Other that your bill is ready or your bill is paid emails, we received one email on 3/27/23 stating the hours were changing immediately and they'd no longer be open on Sundays. Because of the closed Sundays we took off work on Monday May 15th to take our belongings out of storage. got our 2 keys out for the two locks we purchased from Cubesmart walked in to find a y er llow lock on our locker with a tag that said auction. The kind girl in the office had no idea what had happened saying they haven't had a theft since January which was news to us and opened the locker for us to find a mess with over 11k in missing and damaged items. The woman there that day said made a call and found that we were part of the Jan 16th 2023 theft and many lockers were broken into adding that it was an inside job from someone that purchased a locker on line, came in after hours which we had no idea was an option but Cubesmart had changed their hours in July of 2022 without notifying us. They said they called us twice about the break in but blamed us for not taking action. we have no calls on our cell phone call log for that time period. What's the worst part is that we asked to at least credit us and they refused. They take zero responsibility and the manager was the rudest most unempathetic stone cold person I've had to deal with. The woman who help get us into our locker truly felt bad and said she was so sorry. I had to email the district manager and he emailed me back two days later sounding emphatic but said they called and refused to issue a credit. I emailed back asking for credit for January 2023 when the theft occurred to May 2023 when we closed the account and got no response. No service and No protection. read more

They have changed their hours without considering their customers. Now customers can't access their units on Sundays leaving only Saturday open for everyone to move in or move out their things. This is a horrible way to do business. If they need to close one day a week it should be during the week when most people are at work. I've spoken to the general manager and the only response is that it was up to corporate as to when they are open and closed. I have been at this facility for over 18 yrs. Gone through many companies but Cubesmart has been the worse. Finally had enough and I moving to a different storage facility. Major issues here are Entry system to elevator is horrible!!! Ask anyone who uses it. 2nd issue is parking or lack there of. 3rd is lack of carts. You have to go into office which is hardly ever staffed. Leave your license to get cart. 4th is lack of communication by management. We had 8 units broke into (locks picked) things stolen. Not once did management contact any of us to tell us to check our units for missing items. Lastly, the rent has increased immensely. On the one positive side the people whom work day to day in the office are very nice and efficient. They just work for an awful corporation. There are many choices of facilities. This is the absolutely worst storage place ever. The gate has been broken for months, no one ever answers the phone, the hours they have "adjusted" to time when pretty much everyone works. Such a rip off. No one can ever get a hold of corporate. The DM and SM give a different answer every time that doesn't go along with the same answer you get from the store as to what the hours are. Unpublished price increases and other issues. As others have noted this place hits you with regularly scheduled price increases. There is no mention of this in the contract other than the usual "must provide 30 days notice of increase". Logged on to pay my bill yesterday and the price had gone up roughly 15%! Called and was told that they'd mailed a rate increase postcard (which I never received) and that this was their standard practive, first price increase at 6 months then annually after that. Really? Is it the same 15% every year? I'm sorry, but that's at least 3x cost of living and even with the insane real estate market growth in CA that's absurd. Person on the phone said they'd adjust it for this month so I can pay on line (which for some reason costs $1.95 for the "convenience") but that still hasn't happened. As other's have also mentioned they seem to have a problem keeping carts available. I was told this was because renters were locking the carts in their units. Gee, maybe you should address that with those renters? But oh yeah, there are no cameras inside so they have no clue what's going on. Not that the outside cameras are monitored because I've seen the same guy parked and just hanging out in his car in the corner (inside the gate) on MANY occasions after he follows another vehicle through the gate. Seen the same guy get out and take a leak in the parking lot as well. Yeah, that makes me feel great keeping my stuff here. The crawl spaces above the doors are big enough for someone to crawl into your unit which is certainly concerning if you have small valuables there. The good? Place is clean and well lit, so far the climate control seems to work as it should. Hours are actually pretty great. Given the issues (primarily the exorbitant rate increases) I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I liked. I'll be looking for other options before that next increase kicks in. read more

Great people on staff here! Many sizes of space to choose from, perfect location at least for my needs. I shopped for a storage unit by visiting 7 different companies storage units all located in Corona all on one hot 97 degree afternoon so I could get an idea how the unit would be during the Summer and how the places were kept clean(or not!). CubeSmart was the best by far, way above the rest of the places I looked at in person. Their building is the cleanest I have encountered and the security and hours work for me. After initial admin fee and lock purchase ALL of the local storage places are within about $20 of one another as far a price goes. The major difference is the great staff and service topped off with the best units in Corona for your money. Yes, the hours ARE limited but that provides a better security setting for everyone. read more

Our experience with the staff went from bad to worse. we were given the wrong information about billing and dates and when we got overcharged the staff blamed us and did not take responsibilty for giving us the wrong information and won't resolve our issue. This is a horrible storage facility. The employee's are rude and not helpful in any way. I like to pay small portions of my bill over the course of the month however The company will not let me do that they will only let me pay my full bill or nothing at all. And they don't want to try to find any way to help me pay small portions of my bills throughout the month and when I try to work something out they just haven't attitude and basically dismiss anything I have to say. And also many storages are broken into here and they don't do anything to help you when your storage is broken into they basically tell you it's your problem and the insurance has all kinds of loopholes so that your storage facility is not covered when it is robbed. I hate CubeSmart on Green River. The employees SHOULD feel ashamed! One of the units on the 2nd floor has been flooded every time it rains. For OVER A YEAR I have taken photos of the water leaking out of this unit. I have complained each time that the renters should be notified. Every time I'm told tenants are notified. Well I just met the tenants that were only told this last rain that they should come check their unit. I felt SO bad for them. She'd been there 5 yrs and was never contacted. Moving out is even more difficult for her since she has a totally disabled child with her that she has to wheel up & down the elevator with her belongings. I told the Manager & another employee they should be ashamed for never contacting her every time I reported the water coming out of their unit. The manager walked away from me. I called the office to inform them I was checking out and lo and behold all items were gone . As soon as they became aware I was in the process of moving out, they stole my items as they have no care what happens to me since I was leaving anyway (retaliation).So all this time, I was paying the rent for an empty cube (my monthly rent/s and belongings ). Paying them to steal my stuff. The managers have no accountability at all, just pointing to me that I probably took my stuff away myself. That's the type of response and help? you get from them. Why would I do that to myself and pay the ever increasing monthly rent for an empty cube? One of the managers admitted the alarms inside the units were not working for some time and no cameras inside ? Where's protection for you and your stuff? Alarms inside the units were not fixed so any one can just access your unit.There's no sign of forced entry so do you believe that there is no master key or lock picking and my stuff just disappear? Running a storage facility w/o safeguards for the belongings and the tenants themselves? The facility can DENY anything that happened to you or your cube as there's no recording or alarms. You can be out and unconscious and injured while inside the facility or your items are stolen and no recording made and alarms mysteriously not working. Mostly one person in the office to watch the whole facility so if you need help you're out on your own. Also, to access the gate and storage facility, any of the office personnel would know (if you ask)as it is your unit number and last 4 digits of your phone number . How fool proof can that be? One of the managers openly discussed to another person and tried to cover up and made up a false story denying the incident that occurred and that it was all settled. He even provided private and personal info (including name } of the victim of the crime . They would retaliate to anyone they don't like by throwing you out for no reason. Please be aware of the terrible and horrific yelp and google reviews from those robbed and victimized here and avoid being a victim yourself. It's violation of your privacy, unsafe conditions and tolerance of crime of theft of personal property and trample on your dignity as a human being. read more

We have been a long term CubeSmart customer. We recently found out on our own that our unit was broken into. We never received a call or notification that it was broken into. We found out when we showed up to get something out of the unit. When we filed our police report we were informed that there have been a series of reported units that were broken into. Today we went back to do an inventory. There was a woman in tears because she just found out that her unit was impacted as well. She was told by management that they didn't want to bother her. You would think that if this was wide spread that all of their customers were notified and alerted of the issue. I've been a loyal customer at CubeSmart in Corona for over 5 years. 2 years ago my unit was broken into and some of my tools were stolen, which not all of them were recovered. I spend two days talking with detectives and missed work in the process. CubeSmart granted me a free months rent, which helped recover some of my lost wages. 2 months ago they deemed the Corona store a high risk property and instead of hiring a security guard, they just changed their gate access hours from 6am-10pm to 8:30am-7pm. That's 5.5 hours less access to a unit that they recently raised my rent on. Since I store my tools there, which are needed for my work, I can no longer access them before or after work because they're only open during banking hours now. So I asked their DM Todd Haynes for some type of compensation and he declined. Saying they already gave me a one time curtesy when my unit was compromised 2 years ago and there is nothing else they can do. Unfortunately CubeSmart no longer serves the same purpose I need them for and they don't seem too worried about keeping me as a loyal customer. I have had my stuff here before about 2 years ago. No problems. Everything was fine. This time I got a unit around February. I can honestly say the service and my experience has been awful. I cannot stress how much you should not put your stuff here. If you want good customer service and fair business practices DO NOT COME HERE. I can give you 3 reasons why. 1. I came to my storage unit one day and they had added a lock to the door at the top of the stairs. I did not have the code to this door. They told me they sent an email with this code. I never received such email. 2. They increased the price of my unit out of the blue by $20. Why? Who knows? I had only been there for 4 months. This didn't happen to me the last time. 3. They decided to cut access hours from 6am-10pm to 8:30am-7pm. Seems like they just want to work less and make more money. I also wasn't told I had a unit with a vent so all the dust and debris from outside came into my unit and got all over my stuff. Please please please I beg you go anywhere else for your storage needs. This is nice and clean storage facility. I do notice that it sometimes has a smell of fertilizer in the corridors and hope no tenant is storing flammable items in their unit. Been storing here since 2018, and just moved out of both of our units today. What a relief, this place is an actual joke. Management is horrendous and useless. This place gets broken into AT LEAST twice a month. (Which has to be an inside job with their staff, no place can possibly be broken into this often.) There is no sense of security, no help from staff, and their units are literally FALLING APART. I had to request new bolts each time we opened our units because they were falling apart. They're also the BIGGEST rip off, find family owned storage units. We now have an even larger unit that we're paying LESS for at another storage facility. DO NOT store here if you want your items to be protected. They DO NOT CARE about you or your belongings AT ALL. They also will raise your monthly fees without you knowing. They raised our unit price 3 times in the timeframe we stored with them. Overall this place is a raging shit show. The employees at the CubeSmart off of Green River Road have been more than helpful when explaining what I needed in a storage facility. The facility is always very clean and well maintained. I have worked with Dianna Garcia several times and I always leave there with all of my questions answered and my needs met. The fact that I was able to downsize my unit and the remaining rent for that month was applied to my new storage unit, without additional fees was a definite plus. Lauralei, the general manager for this location, was the one who set me up. Everything was as promised. I had a 10x10 for business for a year with no hassles. She was super helpful and offered solutions for the questions I had. The facility was secure and clean, with none of the hassles or risks I've seen with some smaller or less professional storage businesses over the years. I was able to pay my bill online with no real hassles. Checking out when I no longer needed the unit was also done online, no problem. ***warning to anyone who is considering or has a storage unit at this place*** short summary- some if not all storage units have crawl space openings at the top of the walls and there are no surveillance cameras inside the building hallways. The insurance that you are forced to pay will come up will find a way to not pay out on your loss claim. I had items missing from my storage unit, I immediately reported this to Denise, the only staff on hand that afternoon, I asked her to call the police so I could file a report, and she then told me that I had to be the one to do that not her. When the police arrived for the report, he asked where the security cameras are located. Denise told us that there are not any security cameras inside the building. The only cameras they have are on the exterior of the building. How do you not have security cameras when you have openings from the outside to the storage units? From what the police officer and Denise could tell was that someone had to climb the wall crawl through the top space to get inside the unit, but we don't know because there are no cameras inside, NOT ONE CAMERA. I filed a loss claim with the insurance company that you are forced to purchase when you fill out the agreement. I was told that there was no evidence of a forced entry, so they would not pay out on my claim and that I was out of luck. The insurance policy that you are made to buy is basically worthless and a waste of your money. If you rent a unit from this place demand that management install surviellence inside the building, if they dont do yourself a favor and take your items to a more secure facility that actually has security cameras and fully enclosed units. read more
