Public Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Corona, California

Public Storage in Corona, CA is NOT climate controlled. I booked 2 years ago online at the Corona location and it stated on the online page where I signed up, they are climate controlled. It is lie. Thousands of dollars of our personal items were destroyed in over continuous 100 degree plus heat in facility. Leather bags, shoes rotted. White dress shirts turned yellow. Then the termite, spider infestation in our unit. My wood furniture has noticeable damage. I have photos of termites. And now public storage claims that in the fine print 'contract' they are not responsible for temperature damage even if facility is climate controlled. So then why does their advertising page state that Corona, CA public storage is climate controlled? They should take that off their online agreement page. It's scam, false advertising. Deceptive. And of course Public Storage knows the average person won't spend a lot of money on lawyer to fight for damaged goods. That's how they get away with taking no responsibility for anything wrong they do as company. When I complained at the counter in very nice way, Jen got full defensive nasty. Telling us public storage was not at all responsible. One girl told us the air conditioning broke. Then Jen told us they never had air conditioning. Who to believe? I told her I was going to call police on public storage to file report on damage. So to protect company she made a false police report on my husband and I saying we aggressively stepped behind counter to look at our contract on computer. Which we did not. And there is video proof we did not. Even the police didn't take her side. I did tell Jen she wasn't trustable, that she was bad person and she didn't like someone talking truth to her face. Just look at reviews, so many other shady incidents at this facility she's protecting. Why she get so defensive when we are victims? Our things were ruined due to their neglect. It was insane and I videoed the entire interaction where she very nasty got racist, said my husband isn't white, made nasty face, like he was subhuman. Afterwards, I got a call from district manager Fernando subtle threatening me not to post Jen's nasty racist video on social media. Telling me there would be legal consequences. They did not care at all about our damaged items. I didn't even ask him for money. I just asked him to please provide me help to move the rest of my items out of their storage to one of their other climate controlled facilities nearby, which he refused to do. All he cared about was protecting Jen & protecting the company image. Which is evident by the recent obvious fake reviews I see posted on Jen saying she's very good. This was after I brought up the subject of Yelp to him. What a childish game they play. Fernando also double spoke told me Corona never had climate control 8 years. Then said well it depends where your unit is in any public storage building, some are closer to air conditioning? Tf? Public Storage hiked our rent many times on this unit and every month two years we pay no problem. And we pay every month but don't visit often. So you can image my surprise walking into their facility to what felt like an oven in July. And Jen has hater problem, she was very happy, gloating that we should have known better than to store over $5k of our items in the unit. No feelings for anyone, that why I call her bad person. And she is. And it's evident Public Storage hires people like her with personality problem to gate keep for them. Furniture that my mother gave me before she passed is ruined. Jen seemed very happy about that. We planned to move our things out this week to another facility. I have gone in pointless circles past 2 weeks, looping to one unhelpful person within company to another. And I refused to pay them for August. I mean would you in our situation? Now we get call from Jen yesterday. They threaten to lock us out this week so we can't move our things. Their insurance we paid into for two years should cover for $5000 damage. What a scam. They only cover $250 for vermin, bugs. And refuse to take responsibility for the temperature control issue. I'm telling you this company is so horrible, at this point I'd take the chance, trust my things in a stranger's garage over them. Like what's the point of storing anything with Public Storage if they take no responsibility for temperature control in 100 degree summer California weather? Literally the ONLY reason I stored with them is because Corona claimed to be temperature controlled. It's the same price anywhere else and other facilities don't false advertise. Well, to start off with, a 3.5 rating on this place is comical. If you want your RV, or boat, or whatever, broken in to, THIS IS THE PLACE. As a lot of the reviews indicated, break ins are a normal thing here. We tried storing our RV here, it was broken into in less than a week. Quite a bit of damage done, but a ton of stuff stolen. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was an inside job. Mine was the only one ( we looked around, and didn't see any other RV, vehicle, boat, or whatever) broken into. Ours trailer was new to the facility, and a good target for things to steel. They called me and said "we had a break in, and wanted me to 'check' my RV to be sure it was OK. With mine being the only one broke in to, seem suspicious they would say, "we had a break in". Also suspicious, a couple of days later, they texted me and said "we see you have a scheduled vacate", and we never told them we were going to vacate, and never gave them a date to do so. This is a pretty "shady " place. If you want to keep what you own, you might be well to look elsewhere, but if you are looking to have your stuff stolen, then this place is a home run. read more

Just so sneaky with hidden fees! They just assume you need to buy a lock from them and charge you before asking if you have your own lock. They try to charge you 21 or 22 dollars for a five dollar lock. And the one dollar for the first month, pfft, they hit you with a fee in two weeks after renting the unit. So slimy!! I have been storing my vehicle here since September 2022. This facility has a gated outdoor facility with about 50 spaces around the back and side of the storage building. It is also supposed to have video surveillance, which I feel gives a false sense of security. I need to let all my peeps out there considering storing your prized babies on wheels here to drive as fast as you can from this place. Came to pick up my van yesterday to find that the catalytic converter had been stolen. When I went to the storage office to report it, the clerk was so flippant and defensive about it, the first thing out of her mouth was that they weren't responsible. Duh. Isn't that what the giant stack of papers that I first signed stated? Since this is the first time this has happened to me, I asked for advice. Do I call the police for a report? Do you know where the nearest rental company is so I can rent a van? Do you have a recommendation to a shop or dealer who can fix this? She said-" maybe get a report. If you do, give me the case number so I can write it in my incident file. I only know of Avis down the street and don't know shops." " But...if you DO get it fixed, are you gonna bring it back here? Cuz you know it will just get stolen again. That's why all the other cars are here-THEIRS HAVE ALREADY BEEN STOLEN AND DON'T WORK." Then she giggled. Other things came out of her mouth that just shocked my husband and I, but this was the core of it, and all I needed to hear. So friends and fellow Yelpers, lesson to the wise, DON'T store your vehicles here. This place is a graveyard where your car, van, food truck or motorhome will go to die. Very patient and friendly staff who make sure your needs are met! They are very quick to return phone calls and listen to your needs and fulfill them. They broke into my trailer by drilling out the locks and pried open the door and then the following month they pried open my storage doors and took my $200 extension cord. They obviously don't care about security and will do nothing about it. They even have some homeless person living in a van with a dog and cat wondering around the last time I was there. Cameras are there just for decoration since nobody monitors them. What a mistake storing my trailer there. read more

I booked a res online. Unit was available. They called and confirmed. Showed up a few hours later that day. I walked into the office as they were giving away my unit to the guy already at the counter. For 10 minutes they were trying to fix/find my reservation "because it was canceled"(not by me). Finally they said I can can pay double the price for a different unit. I asked what was the point of a reservation then, they said "that's for reserving the price". That's not what "reserve" means. When I call a restaurant to make a reservation, it's not so I can reserve prices of food on the menu. It's so I can reserve a physical spot. I let the ladies know this, but they had no answer or solution. Bottom line, in addition to renting self storage spaces, this public storage facility is also in the business of redefining the English language. read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would've. Employees here are thieves. We rented a storage for our stuff because we will temporarily move overseas. After 7 months of renting, we got a call saying our storage was open and we need to lock it right away. Since we are unable to come, we sent my friend to come and lock the unit for us. When my friend was there, he saw our stuff still there and complete. He then took a photo of the storage and locked the storage again. Then we got a call again 2 or 3 months after saying that the unit is again unlocked and someone is trying to break in and we need to come right away to lock it. We asked the employee if they could lock it for us since my friend is out of the country now too and since it's their lock (the one they privde to all renters), if they could lock it for us cos we are coming in two weeks. When we arrive after two weeks, most of our important stuff like both our TVs, my giant teddy bear, my recliner for when my son is born, couple of boxes, hair dryers, plates, cast iron pans, etc are gone. All the employee in the office would say is claim it on the insurance. My husband asked if he should call the police right away so the cops can check, the employee said no just call the insurance. But me, of course called the police once I got home (a day after, since I arrived from overseas a few days late with our son). Since it's thanksgiving, the police can't come right away and the leasing office is now closed. Then, upon calling the insurance and filing a claim, the insurance won't respond to us at all. We just got 1 call from them asking what stuff was lost and was told to file a police detailed report, which we did. After that, we were trying to get a hold of Cassandra, the one assigned to our claim but she won't respond at all. We tried calling and sending emails, nothing. Until I was so annoyed and wrote them an email saying I would sue on small claims court and file a complaint on BBB. All her reply was that we have to prove that there was burglary that happened. WTF!!! Are you serious? We already filed a police report and sent her photos of our unit (before and after the burglary), and the employee there also knew about it. Now we still have to prove it? What more should we do?? We lost so many things already. How about the intangible value like memories that those things have that insurance can't and won't replace???? We pay very expensive amount of money to keep our stuff safe and this is what happens. I hope the thieves will get what they deserve. They should all burn in hell and I hope this insurance company and public storage company get what they deserve too! DO NOT EVER RENT ON PUBLIC STORAGE!!!! read more

I don't normally post reviews but certain things will always warrant one. I visited this storage location yesterday and the lady at the counter was super nice and helpful. I had called the call center for this company and was told this was a climate controlled facility so I drive all the way there only to find out it wasn't. But I go and look at the 5x5 unit anyway. It was hot as heck up on the third floor. Well I was considering renting it anyway but as we were walking back to the office I saw big like big!! ROACHES on the floor between a couple units which the lady kicked as she was walking. Completely oblivious to it. and there were about four dead ones on the office floor. That is absolutely disgusting. And seeing those made me walk out. I wish I had taken pictures. But I will not be going there ever!! read more

Prices increase regularly at will just because they can, with no reason given. Expect your price to increase by at least $50.00 or more per year depending on what size unit you have, and an increase of your bill every 6 months on average. What started as a $97.00 dollar bill, has increased to $147.00 in just 10 months. Our bill was raised TWICE in that time. Additionally, the majority of the 5 star reviews are due to customers feeling sorry for the attendant that excessively begs for a 5 star review with their name in it, it is likely a bonus structure set in place my corporate, paid for through loyal, on-time paying customers who ARE CONSTANTLY GETTING THEIR BILL RAISED. On an ending note, you will absolutely HATE their elevators. Just fair warning. PS... we're moving storage facilities! read more

The person who ransacked my RV turned it upside down, and decided to put a cot inside of it and live in it. I made a police report but again there's nothing they can do. I have been with them for 3 years and they have horrible customer service I have ever experienced I just can't believe corporate or management is okay with the employees acting the way they do. All the girls that work in the office horrible attitude and very rude. Not helpful. And every year they raise the prices I have been there 3 years. I guess they would rather have an empty unit and I am taking my business elsewhere. It is ridiculous how much I pay for a small unit. Not worth it. They also do not open the door and don't answer the phone a lot even within business hours. Close early when ever they want even though it says they are open. And won't allow access to your unit on holidays for how much I pay I should be able to access my unit whenever I feel like it. Not okay. They also won't prorate it when they close and won't allow me access to my unit. Elevator dirty not clean for how much they charge. Learn from my experience and don't waste your time there are way more storage places. read more

The staff is friendly and amazing! I saved 50.00 a month moving my unit needs to here! Use their online service to figure out a great price prior to walking in. This facility is up to date tech savy. An app that opens the gate the door and the elevator!! This particular site in Corona is concrete with no dust and no rats like my prior one. Don't settle move to greatness. The concrete walls help with less heat and cold extremes on your storage worthy items you love as well. read more

My biggest issue is that upon moving out, I found that rats or mice had been infesting my unit. Which by the way was super clean and organized so that was very upsetting and unacceptable. Also, for such a huge place the fact that there is only 1 loading/unloading dock is ridiculous. There was always an issue parking and getting a convenient spot. read more

Rent here if you want your belonging stolen. My sister got a call a couple days ago saying that her unit was broken into and to come check out her things. When we got there her unit door was open, the lock they make you purchase from them was cut and the thieves had taken a multitude of items.These items would've required multiple trips but here's the kicker, the thieves according to the limited surveillance footage only made one trip...RED FLAG! So my sister gets a call yesterday from a detective telling her to come down to the station because they have some of her stolen items. It turns out that the thieves had hit several units and the items were found inside a different storage unit ON THE PROPERTY. That's why they were only shown making one trip. My wife and I used the previous company and they were ok. Since Public Storage took over, they have completely improved the quality and safety of our belonging. New security system and new loading dock completely redone with a wheelchair access. I would recommend this to anyone. We loved being customers and we never had any issues with them.
