Where do I start. This place used to be locally family owned, it was called Sunshine storage. They…read morewere friendly, personable, and nice. This "My place" company has bought up all of the storage lots on this corner. They then closed one of them and kicked people out with little to no notice. They apparently tried to sell the land but nobody seemed to want it. Thankfully I was in the other lot. They then moved all the uncovered renters over to the previously emptied lot that seems to have a bit of a weed problem. I used to store two vehicles here, a motorhome and a boat. The boat is in covered parking. The Motorhome was not. Thankfully I sold it before all the moving happened. They then added a new air conditioned storage building where the uncovered spaces were, and added more covered spaces along the edges. The covered space I have isn't great. the roof leaks, so it drips crud and rust on my brand new boat cover. There is rodent crap everywhere, and the place isn't kept tidy, in fact, there are wrecked junk cars and just junk stored all over the place. AND, the rate has nearly doubled. I went to get my boat the other evening, and was met with a trench. No way in past the gate, that did open for me. No notice, no text, no email, no call, no sign, nothing. I called several times to the phone number listed in Happy Jack AZ. No answer. No response to my voicemail. I did go by there today, office sign says open, but it is closed. They close at 5:30, It was 3:45. I called, I could hear the phone ringing inside. No answer. There is a new gate being installed on the other side on university drive. Guess what? It doesn't work, But it was left open today, they are probably leaving it open all day. So, no real security. Not a big deal, because if anyone wants to get their rig out they may have difficulty getting it out since the spaces are angled one way, but because of the trench, you cannot go that way, so you have to make a 1,000 point turn to get out without hitting other rigs or the posts on the new spaces which are too close to the drive way. If there wasn't an empty space next to me, I would have had to move my boat by hand before hitching up and it is pretty heavy, and 100 degrees. So, the management of this place really needs to step up their game. I'm considering moving to a different lot and paying more. This place is close to me, but I drive by much nicer places on my way to work in south AJ... I hope the corporate management reads these. Your local staff doesn't seem to be doing what they are paid for. I missed an appointment to drop my boat off for repair, so now have to wait a week. They ruined my weekend and wasted 2 hours of my time with this nonsense.

Wish I could rate this place zero stars…read more We stored our RV at this location for 5 years, and the experience from start to finish was one of the worst we've ever had with any business. Back in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, storage options were nearly impossible to find. Every other facility was full -- except this one. We had no other choice, so we moved in, even though things felt off from the beginning. When we first arrived, my husband accidentally pulled into the wrong lot. The manager immediately snapped at him over an honest mistake, and from that moment on we felt targeted. Although our RV was exactly 30ft, we were forced to pay for a 40ft space. She said she'd "measure it later" and possibly adjust the rate -- but that never happened. A couple years in, they raised our rent twice in one month without any warning. It eventually stabilized, but we later found out we were still being grossly overcharged -- we were paying $121/month, while their current listed rate for a 30ft RV spot is only $87. So we were overpaying the entire time. The final straw came in July 2025. On July 1, we paid our rent as usual. Then on July 8, we got a sudden voicemail from a blocked number saying the lot was being sold and we had to move our RV within hours or it would be towed at our expense. That was the first and only communication we received. We called to confirm (thinking it was a scam), and were met with pure rudeness. I explained we had never received any prior contact, and the employee accused me of lying. When I offered to show proof, she said, "I won't accept your proof." She told us that our RV not being movable "wasn't her problem." In the background, we heard someone else say, "If you don't like it, too bad." We were told to either move it to their new lot or remove it entirely -- but our RV had been parked for 5 years. It needed a new battery, coolant reservoir, and one tire was nearly flat. We were not financially prepared to tow it at $250/hour. Had we been given proper notice, we absolutely would have complied. We could've made repairs, saved up, and prepared. Instead, we were thrown into panic with just hours to act. After we pushed back, they reluctantly gave us a few more days -- but it wasn't nearly enough. We missed 3 days of work, spent hours in 110-degree heat clearing out the RV, and ultimately were forced to give away our beloved rig, simply to avoid an outrageous towing bill. It was not a decision we took lightly -- it was an extremely emotional and heartbreaking moment for both of us. That RV held so many memories and meant so much to our lives. When we asked for a refund for July, they hit us with, "We don't prorate move-outs." As if we chose to leave. We were basically evicted 8 days into a month we paid for in full -- with no options and no support. Then they ghosted us completely. This company is unethical, dishonest, and aggressively unprofessional. The staff is rude, dismissive, and totally unfit to be in customer service. Their shady practices, surprise charges, and inexcusable treatment of loyal customers should not go unnoticed. Avoid this place at all costs. Do not store your RV here -- it's not worth the risk. They have no integrity, no compassion, and no respect.

Not only are Kris & Jim extremely personable, but they are well versed with what it takes to run a secure site. Further, they continually attend meetings/seminars with regard to storage site security and best practices. As a somewhat picky customer, I had questions as to why there were application steps that seemed beyond what I had run into at previous storage facilities, but once explained to me, I was totally on board. Basically, if you're a dirt-bag, don't even bother applying. Jim & Kris do an excellent job of filtering the clientele to limit rentals only to upstanding citizens. This is extremely reassuring. Especially if you don't check your storage site very often. I've only very recently ended my storage rental (no longer needed the extra space), but even the check-out process was as smooth as can be. If I find myself needing storage again in the future, I will definitely be looking for Jim & Kris! In my over 10 years at this facility, I never had any issues, and with the units being climate controlled, I never had to worry about my trinkets and heirlooms baking in the AZ heat. Additionally, the coded entry and exit system also seems efficient and maintains accountability. Top notch peace of mind at a very reasonable rate ...

Update: I wish I could say better, but even the sudden "change of heart" attitude I got from the…read more[manager?] woman that usually tends the administrative end upon trying to vacate still left me feeling like this ended sourly. I had called a month ago to notify my card for auto-debit has been updated, and also to give ample notice of the date I'd be vacating. No prob. Until I get a voicemail saying my payment was declined and I was now charged a $15 late fee. I called to clear the issue- I was met with quite a hostile response. After keeping calm & trying to reason, I got the fee waived. And I appreciate it, even though I do think my new card information was not properly updated. All is well? Upon trying to vacate, my access code was repeatedly denied. She finally opens the gate for me when she sees the moving truck. All is well. Until I can't get out. Magically, the gate opens as I get out & start to walk inside. I don't think any of it was an "accident" or "faulty keypad". To top it off- the movers happened to get a snapshot of the WATER DAMAGE inside my unit. Which, we also noted, compromised my belongings I had stored in there. You could say I am a bit less than pleased with how this ended. No one should be treated rudely for vacating a unit. And, the fact water damage occurred isn't leaving me feeling very confident in recommending or ever opting to re-rent in the future.
