I get a call on a Monday saying that one just came up at $134.00. Per month. I am currently at $173.74 per month. So common sense says take the smaller less expensive space. So I called back in 24 hours to accept the spot at $134.00 and now I was told that it is not available at this price and is higher then what I am paying now for a larger space due to what they say is the market price! Confused by this statement. Not sure what they mean by this but I am sure after posting this I will get a notice of another increase because I posted this . I am sure they would tell me it's market condition when they send me the increase notice.. I would hope sometime I would get a notice that the market is lower and they would decrease our space cost.

Horrible. I booked…read morea unit through selfstorage.com, starting June 22nd at $273/month + 50% off the first month. When I came in to sign the paperwork, Pam, the manager at the unit would not honor the 50% off for the first month. Just to add insult to injury, I came in first yesterday, arrived at the unit at 12:55PM, and there was no one in the office. I called the 1-800 line who told me that the office closes at 1PM on Thursdays (not the posted hours) and when I reminded them that it was not 1PM yet they unapologetically said that the owner must be at one of his other locations. So... two wasted trips of 20 minutes each way, another 25 minutes wasted with Pam, and a cancelled contract because they wouldn't honor the rate I booked. To be clear, the unit is now on line again at the same price, with the same special. I needed it for at least a year. Crooks.

One word of caution to prospective clients: Do NOT rent units with the keyed lock that inserts inside the door. Get one with the traditional round storage lock that you hang outside the door. I had accidentally lost my keys and they do not offer any locksmith services. If you have to crack open a round lock hanging on the door it's a lot easier than cracking open an interior one. That said, the interior ones are safer....just don't misplace the key! Because if you do, you pay blood, like I did :(
