Mixed berry and Half Mixed Berry Chicken Salad
    Angela R.

I absolutely love BUT NOT TODAY! No ambiance today since I used the drive-thru to grab a healthy a healthy option on my way back to work. Although service was ok, they forgot my sweet potato fries. Was that it? NO. My sweet potato fries were way over salted and I got the wrong salad. Sure hope the person who got my beet and goat cheese salad like the extra beets. The salad I got had chicken-glad I'm not vegetarian - they would have gotten 1 star. cubby's totally failed!!!

I don't know if Cubbys recently redid their menu but I felt like every item sounded so tasty. I got the Buffalo chicken salad and it was delicious, I didn't even need the dressing the chickens Buffalo sauce did the job. Everyone working was really friendly and overall the environment was welcoming. The seating is a little cold/harsh, with the decor being like brutalistic farmhouse core that doesn't make for many soft surfaces but it was clean and not too loud, fun to hang out and chat in.

I love Cubby's. We came as one of our last dates before our baby arrived. I previously had been to the Thanksgiving Point location multiple times and the Draper location one time. I do wish it were more affordable; the tab for two runs us over $30 each time. I get that the quality is a little higher and the food is fresher here than at other places, so I can do the price tag a couple times a year. The Houdini burger is my absolute favorite, and I love me some rosemary fries. My husband loves the Whoopie Pies here, too. Not relevant to the food, but I always love the design and layout of Cubby's restaurants. Super cool and modern. For sure worth a visit, just expect to spend a little.

For the price, this place is not worth it. Everything is in a to go container, the Mac and cheese was hard and flavorless and the kids meals came with two grapes, two. The high point was the burger and the tri-tip salad was edible but for the price I would not go back.

Some pretty solid food here at Cubby's--the tri-tip was tender and the BBQ sauce on it was tasty. And wow, the cookie sandwich was way better than I anticipated! Customer service was below average. There were four employees standing and chatting in the back, and even though two of them made eye contact with us, we had to wait 2-3 minutes before one of them finally came over to take our order. I'd come back for the food for sure, but hope that staff members will be a little more attentive next time--probably something that can be fixed with a little manager training.

First things first, the tri-tip steak salad is pretty dang good. The steak is usually cooked pretty well, and I also love the accompaniments/toppings. It comes with roasted red peppers, scallions, feta cheese, dried cherries, and toasted almonds. The mixture of the steak with these toppings is brilliant. Moreover, the green dressing that comes with it is delicious. I often crave this salad and feel as though it is a pretty healthy option. I can't be too healthy though because I tend to order rosemary fries on the side! Which by the way are YUM. Why do I give this place 3 stars? Though I really enjoy this salad, I feel like it can be pretty inconsistent. I have purchased it many times and I feel like they are always shorting me on the toppings as well as the steak. Cubby's is EXPENSIVE and I do not feel as though I get my money's worth. For that reason, I think that this place is wayyyyy too overpriced which is another reason why I am only rating it 3 stars. If it were more consistent, and I felt like they were giving me a good serving of steak (because I am paying a ton for this food), then I would rate it higher.

Only reason I haven't been back is because eating out is a whole-family decision. What you get at Bumblebees is, in my opinion, a rare and odd fusion of foods that loosely fall into the realm of Bulgogi and Primanti Brothers (think fries plus bulgogi). The interior is appropriately dive-y. The service isn't surprising or especially fast (I recall it being respectable), but...that unique combination is only akin to having chili Mac (chili over spaghetti) from Hard times in DC. So...it's in that vein of highly flavored meat over a base starch that is cooked in such a way as to carry the flavor and not hamper it...every time I drive by, I wish my family liked spicy things more - it's totally worth it!!

Their menu changes weekly so it's always exciting to see what their new burgers are every Thursday…read more My friends ordered their "gyro" burger and I ordered off the menu along with a few appetizers. I didn't try the gyro burger because it was very raw on the inside. It was lamb and wagyu but I prefer my burger meats to be cooked all the way through. My friends said it was sweet and it's probably because they glazed the bun. The fat bastard oysters were too big for my liking. There's also gelato on top which was weird because it made the oyster taste like it was partially frozen. I don't recommend this. The rolls tasted like biscuits. It was crumbly and it wasn't expected for a nice restaurant. The heirloom tomato pastry was my favorite dish of the night. The half sashimi trout was more like a stew in sweet sauce. The baby yellow potatoes were just added without any seasonings. Assuming it should soak in the sweet juices? I didn't care for it. Trout was good, but preferred that the skin was crispy, which was extremely soggy, drowned in the sauce. Server asked if I wanted bread to drink the sauce and sure. Why not. It may taste better with regular bread and it wasn't. You can also skip valet parking if you just walk an extra minute down the parking lot. I forgot what one of the desserts name but it was the one with butter cake. This was extremely sweet too with the gooey caramel sauce. The donut was ridiculously expensive at $16 with a little honeycomb decoration. Nothing special with the desserts. Overall, everything is sweet here. Their menu is a lot and I feel like the burger menu can be a little too much and trying too hard to be fancy.

The meal was delicious. We started off with the crispy Brussels sprouts - to say it's the best Brussels sprout I've ever had would be an understatement. The texture of them is out of this world, the apple cider vinegar that glazes them is perfect. The sweet acidity of that glaze is an incredible accompaniment to the sprouts, almonds, and cheese. Next we shared the celeriac blue cheese emulsion and wedge salad. The emulsion was delicious. The herb vinaigrette on our salad was delightful. I ordered the wagyu for my entree and to put it simply - it was a joy to eat. The plating was beautiful. Every part of the dish was sensational. My boyfriend ordered the lamb shank and the lamb fell off the bone and the potato it was served with was unbelievable! I felt so joyful during my entire dinner service. It is most certainly one of the best meals I have ever had. Highly, highly, recommend. Cannot wait to come back.

Not a single open table. PACKED. And honestly... now I get it. I'll be real--I went in a little unsure. Most of the reviews are a few years old, and while there are photos posted by the owner, they don't say what anything is (which made ordering a bit of a guessing game). A few things I asked about were actually old specials... which was a little disappointing. BUT--this is where it turned. Our server went out of his way to ask the kitchen if they could recreate a taco salad I saw in one of the photos... and they said yes. Immediate gold star. And when the food came out?? Massive. Like... borderline shocking portions. My taco salad was on a giant Navajo taco base and LOADED--cheesesteak-style meat, fajita onions, peppers, lettuce, tomato, avocado, chipotle dressing, salsa... every bite was so good. And somehow it all stayed in place (which if you've ever fought a falling-apart taco salad, you know matters ). My husband got the fish and chips and I'm usually not a fish and chips girl--but this?? I'd order it myself next time. Flaky, moist fish with the crispiest, lightest batter. So, so good. We finished with cheesecake (raspberry key lime + blueberry sour cream). They were good and fresh, but not quite as wow as the entrees--just wished they were a little creamier and the key lime had more tang. But overall? We walked in unsure... and left already planning what we'd order next time. Safe to say: totally unexpected, totally impressed, and 100% coming back.
