I was looking for a place that had meatloaf and found this location. Well, they did not have it so had to go another route. There were not a lot of customers and I had to wait for the waiter. He went on a smoke break so he smelled of cigarette smoke. Village Inn has always been consistent. Food hasn't really changed since I started coming here clear back in the days when we would close the bar down and then head over to Village Inn. Back in the day you could go in and get a table and sit for hours and just have coffee and smoke cigarettes. (I never smoked) but a lot of people did. These days there is no smoking (which I'm happy about) and there is no sitting around drinking coffee for hours. What you have these days is a family restaurant where they serve pretty decent food. The breakfast menu is the best, in my opinion. Known for their pies, with a good variety in the case by the cash register. This location's parking lot was/is the pick up/drop off for the fun bus out to Wendover. I'm not sure if it still is. read more

I just orderd a steak from Village Inn to be delivered by Grubhub. It was so disgusting. I orderd my steak to be cooked medium well and when I cut into it there was puddles of blood everywhere. after almost vomitting, I recooked the steak. Grateful to the Village Inn employees at this location for working on Christmas Eve--we made a last-minutes decision to go out to get some food because we didn't feel like cooking. The staff here was warm and welcoming, offering fast service. The food was surprisingly good too! Village Inn has a big selection of breakfast items (omelettes, breakfast skillets, waffles, pancakes, and more) available all day. They also have burgers, sandwiches, and salads who aren't fans of breakfast for dinner. And though our group didn't come on a Wednesday, we learned that if you come in on a Wednesday, you can get a free slice of pie with your meal! I'll have to come back to check that out. read more

This location had great food and super friendly and attentive servers. I was expecting a sort of IHOP generic experience but it was much better than that. Hilarious, smart aleck, faux retro signs abound with quotes from the like of Ms. Piggy. The food says it is made from scratch and it tastes like it. Fruit that is actually fruit and not a prefab long shelf life "sauce". Hash browns were buttery, salty perfection. Pancakes were great. We didn't get to try any pie but they looked amazing. Village Inn is a basic chain staple, and not usually one that I would review. However... this experience was different. It is a Friday evening and every other decent place nearby is too busy, so we opted for Village Inn, which was relatively empty. We ordered the Reuben and onion rings and a chicken fried steak skillet and pancakes. We were impressed by the quality of food. The Rueben was excellent as were the onion rings! Better than you would expect from Village Inn. The skillet and pancakes were better than average as well. We asked our server to give our compliments to the cook. Quick seating, drink / food order. Comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the biscuits & gravy. Was the first time the eggs and hash wasn't seasoned, however a little salt & pepper quickly fixed that! This location has stepped up there game!!! Incredible customer service by Amanda and her team! I was looking for a greasy spoon breakfast, real quick, before work. I spotted village inn and thought it was probably going to be a sub par experience. As I walked in I was immediately greeted by Amanda. Who was very pleasant and seated me quickly. We had great service and food was ok for Village Inn in Murray,Ut. We were visiting family and decided to have a mini reunion for breakfast. We decided to swarm the Village Inn. When I walked up and asked for seating for 11 people, the staff was friendly and had us seated within 15 minutes. The waitress, Be my, was awesome. She was patient, friendly, and helpful the entire time. They also split up the checks which was great. The food was ok. I would consider it Denny's food or a little better. The coffee was better then the average diner coffee. I had the vegetarian omelette which was good as it had salsa on it to add to the flavor. Our son wolfed down his pancakes which made wifey happy which, in turn, made me happy. Village Inn provided our family get together great service and ok food. It's been a few months since I have been to Village Inn. My son, father and I went to the Village Inn in Murray Utah. The dinning room was fairly busy last Saturday night when we went...but the atmosphere was good. Service was a little slow, but it did not take us long to realize they were short on help. We guessed 2 servers, 1 host and possibly 1 or two cooks were all that was there. We are patient people, enjoying conversation at the table, so the slowness did not matter. We all thought our food was great, the waitress did her best to get to us, and we had a good evening enjoying a good evening out. Thanks Village Inn! I wanted to have a breakfast in the park so I decided to order from village Inn take-out. When we got to the park my friends cheese sandwich was just fair but the salad didn't have dressing nor was dressing provided on the side. the avocado was ok the the rest of the salad was to dry to eat without the dressing. I had the chicken fried skillet the picture on the site was white county dressing I got a brown tasteless on the side gravy. There were pancakes but no butter or syrup. The scramble eggs were just warm but rest of the meal was cold , overcooked potatoes . I dont remember a Meal From Village INN being so bad. Maybe if we had eaten inside things would have been different? Positive thing is they still open at Sunday, and well stuffed while most other restaurants are closed. Negative is the burger is not as good. The food is fresh cooked, but need some improvement on taste. Both meat and bun are dry and hard to chew, it is not even on the fast food level like McDonald. What a place. My experience with village inn was very pleasant and enjoyable. The service was great. My server was Robin, and she was very friendly. The menu has a good selection of choices. I went with the all world double cheeseburger with a fried egg. The waitress even enthusiastically agreed it was a great choice. That burger was a mammoth of a size when it got to the table. I had to squish it down a bit to get my mouth around it. You would have thought that would have filled me up, but I decided to order a slice of chocolate peanut butter pie for dessert. I can easily tell it was made from scratch, and the pie was so sinfully delicious, every bite was like sending my taste buds to heaven, assuming this type of indulgence was allowed beyond heavens gate. I know it's not very "foodie" of me, but I do like the VI from time to time, mostly around 10pm when I want brinner (breakfast for dinner). I usually get their "V.I.B." meal, where you can select 4 breakfast items for $6.99. I had a pulled pork pita and onion rings the other night and I was pleasantly surprised- it was quite tasty! The best part about the V.I. is if you go on Wednesday, you get a free slice of pie with your meal. The only thing better than free pie, is free beer, but that's not legal in Utah. I've gotta say, Village Inn makes a mean pie. The Oreo and triple berry are my favorites. Mmm...pie... This location has been recently remodeled and is very clean. It's a great value, epecially for larger parties or family or group gatherings. My usual VIB is a small chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, pancakes & orange creme crepe - Delicious!! For lunch my fiancé loves the "Grown up Grilled Cheese". It's got 4 cheeses, bacon & fresh sliced tomatoes on a parmesan crusted bread. I get the Double Decker Club on wheat bread. It has turkey, ham & bacon with cheese & fries on the side. Lately we've been going for dinner, because we can't get enough of their burgers! I have included a picture of the one I had tonight for dinner. The beef patties are homemade & the buns are thick & toasted. Also they come with a side of lettuce, tomatoes, red onions & a couple crinkled pickles. The fries are very good & if you're health conscious they are pretty plain, I have to add a dash of salt & pepper. Oh & for us Utahns, they do have Fry Sauce!!! It's freshly made everyday by the servers! I also have to add, their burgers are a hell of a lot tastier & better put together than Red Robins. We've been very disappointed with them from all their changes they've made to their burgers. They fall apart & just don't taste right, but that's a review for a different resturant. I'm just comparing Village Inn's burgers to the "popular" burgers in town & we believe they have the best right now! My sister and I have been visiting Murray for the last 3 weekends because our father is in the hospital from a stroke. We don't know this city very well so we used the yelp app it find a place to eat. The Village Inn popped up and we are so glad it did. The food was delicious and portion size was perfect. The wait staff are very attentive and quick, they kept our drinks full and check back often with us. The meatloaf was the best restaurant meatloaf we had ever had. The texture was perfect and had great flavor. We have been eating here at least once a day every weekend of our stay, which isn't to good for our waists because the pies are to die for. I absoulutely love the Carmel, Pecan Silk Supreme, it is my two most favorite pies (chocolate silk and pecan) all rolled into one pie.
