I was so excited to have their croffles fresh, after trying some that a friend gave me from take-out. After a huge dinner, two friends and I made a walk to Murray Hill, Queens, to share some dessert. They were closing soon, but thankfully still had most of their croffles in stock. One of my friends recommended the sweet potato one, so we got one to share and she got one to bring home for her family. We were also drawn in by the egg tarts while waiting to check out, so we went ahead and got 4 of those for a special price. Unfortunately, I dropped half of my egg tart! But the half I did have was very good. It was a little sweeter than the ones I am used to having, but I still enjoyed the taste, and the presentation itself had already won me over. We got the popular ANG Butter and Mont Blanc croffles. Both were similar in texture and the Mont Blanc one was garnished with a glazed chestnut with gold flake on top. Although most reviews favor the Mont Blanc, IMO the ANG Butter is better. The red bean paste in the ANG pairs wells with the cold butter and puff pastry whereas the chestnut paste in Mont Blanc was just slightly overpowering and left a slight aftertaste - it's still good though. It might just be the name and aesthetic of the Mont Blanc that draws people in. Since my bf had already bought coffee from elsewhere, I ordered an Iced Dalgona Latte for myself. So if you are going for croffles, and the flavor you want is sold out, they can make it for you. But if you want mochi donuts, go earlier. I arrived around 11am on a rainy Sunday, parking looks difficult and tight there but I had someone drive me so we found a spot to standby. There wasn't a long line outside but there was a line inside. The line went quick tho. I ordered 10 croffles (one box was for a friend/neighbor) and 2 mochi donuts. Actually I lied, I ordered 11 croffles, 1 savory one as well. I wanted a drink too and the girl on the register was so bubbly and nice. She asked if I wanted a refreshing drink or a coffee based drink. I ended up getting a lemonade and a hazelnut iced coffee. My order for everything came out to around $64. Overall the croffles are not the best thing you'll ever eat and I didn't find it to be worth the wait. It's less dense than your typical waffle and while yes, it is layered inside it just isn't that flaky goodness you would expect like in a Cronut. Note that the ends of my croffle did have some flaky, crunchy texture but that's it. And of course, I felt the syrup on the fruit was unnecessary. ON THE ORHER HAND, the mochi doughnuts? YEAH. This place popped up on yelp and I figured I would try it. Got a box as a gift for friends and got a few for myself. The waffle is a great buttery texture and the fruits on top are fresh. The whipped cream is the Korean cake whipped cream, not an overly sugary frosting topping. The croffles were exactly the sweetness I prefer (not very sweet) and tasted very fresh. I practically came running when I saw this place on Instagram. The croissant x waffles are very beautifully presented with various toppings. The store itself looks super clean and calming. They even have cute plants you can buy. The servers were really sweet and gave us recommendations on some cool jelly drinks they have. The desserts are great, but what is most memorable to me is the service. The staff here are extremely helpful and accommodating. Without asking, they offered to add handles to my dessert/cake boxes and a carrying holder for my drinks. We had an issue with one of our coffee cup lids not fitting properly, and they were really apologetic and even offered to make us a new one (which was so kind, although we declined it because it wasn't necessary). Just really helpful staff here all around, where I didn't expect it. The desserts are all great and look wonderful. The only thing I'd note is that they are best served fresh, within an hour or two or purchasing. After they sit for a few hours, the mochi donuts and croffles tend to lose their texture and aren't as tasty (but are still okay). They are still great though. The lattes and coffee are also great. I was super excited to try this place given that it is was trending all over. I went when the shop just opened so I had a wait a little (maybe around 10 mins). I ordered one of each mochi donuts, the macaroon set and 2 croffles. The guy taking my order offered great customer service. Seeing that my bf and I had to wait for the pastries to be done he let us try their egg tarts - which was okay, it was creamier than your average egg tarts but not quite a Portuguese egg tart. The mochi donuts were okay - the only difference is the icing on top and even then the frosting doesn't have a strong flavor and the donut itself only have a slight chewiness to it. The macaroons were okay as well. They were all nicely done and the filling were some sort of whipped cream! The Croffle does live up to its hype!
