There's truly no other place around here that compares to the Crawfish House. My favorite place to go to for a seafood boil! I've been continuously eating here for years and have never experienced anything majorly negative. There's usually not a long wait time to get seated, the food usually comes out within a decent timing, friendly & generally attentive staff, food is fairly priced, and tastes great! Appetizers like fries, fried mushrooms, etc come out quick so you have something to get started on while the main stuff is on the way. The liter of the strawberry lemonade is also a fantastic choice to wash everything down, especially the spices :-) My usual order consists of king crab legs and the shrimp at a 3 star (a good level of spicy, nothing crazy) with their house sauce. After so many people told me I needed to try this place I said F it let's go! Man listen this is my new spot for seafood boils. They'll get you right! When you walk in you're greeted by a chalk menu board. Has the current prices and specials. The waiter said normally that there is no longer than a 15-20 min wait for the restaurant and no more than a 10 min wait for the bar. The atmosphere is a little different and all over the place. I couldn't even tell you what it looked like because there was so much goin on in there is was hard to find something to concentrate on LOL! I got the gulf shrimp with the house sauce and a 4 level spice. It was on point. The shrimp were fresh and the sauce was nice and spicy how I like it. It doesn't come with corn, potatoes or sausage so I had to add those! I also got the fried chicken sandwich and for $5.99 it was pretty decent and came with fries. The food was good and our waiter was pretty busy but made sure we were taken care of. We had to gather his attention a few times but it wasn't anything too bad. Please read for your own good We had high expectations because we heard it was really good. Why 1 star? Let me give you a some tips before you go to this place. Always, always make sure what they serve you is what they say it is. Double check with the server and kitchen (we were told they dont communicate, they said they just give the order per the server) We have ordered Shrimp (which is the best), snow crab , clams and lastly dungenous crab. warning! Make sure to ask how many lbs first before they serve it to you because your expecting to pay $17.99 a lb but end up paying over 50 dollar for a small one piece. My dad work in the seafood and meat department so he knows very well that wasnt a 3 lb. We were told it was only up to 2lbs and so we were okay. However, when we got the bill and ended up Paying more than what expected from a 80 to 120 dollar is a big difference. It is not the money difference that we were upset about, but the mis communication and the service provided overall. Even after telling them it was our first time and we were told in the begining what were expecting but ended up paying something extra that we werent aware of and they say it wasnt them but it was the kitchen who weight and cooked it. As a restaurant you work together and not blame one another. The worst part they literally told it in our face that they dont cheat their customer, but the way it was presented that is how it felt like. Best Crawfish in Seattle! I grew up in Houston where Viet Cajun crawfish was everywhere and this place is the closest you'll get to that flavor and quality (ok, still not 100% since WA is so far from LA, but still). I totally recommend the house sauce with the Crawfish and also recommend 2 star spice. I typically can handle spice, but 3 star was too much for me and it messed up my stomach the next day. Overall, I give Crawfish House a (3) star rating. The staff was pretty friendly but I thought that our meal was overpriced for the amount of food you get. Plus, the taste was kind of average. I like being able to support local restaurants but I'm honestly not sure if I would ever come back. Sure, there's a fun novelty with wearing a bib and having food thrown on the table, but if I wanted that experience, I would have gone to the Crab Pot instead. We ordered (1) Dungeness crab with a side order of corn and sausage, which costs a total of $60. Honestly, nothing blew me away flavor wise and the house sauce they used was a bit too greasy for my preference. Plus, when I asked for the market price of the Dungeness crab, the waiter referred us to a board on the wall (stating it was $17.99/lb). Ultimately, the final costs was not correct (because they charged us $19.99/lb instead when the bill came). It wasn't necessary a big price difference in the total but it would be nice to get the right price before you order. Maybe their crawfish is a better deal. Wanted to love this place and especially because it's been literally 5+ years since the last time I had a Cajun boil. The server was really nice and attentive, but basically she was the only one server for the entire place when we sat down. Maybe because they were short staffed there was also initial confusion around sitting down, there were several empty tables but there was also a waitlist with people waiting for no reason. Moving on to the food- only the crawfish and the clams are fresh. Everything else including the king crab and shrimp are frozen. We ended up getting several pounds of the two different crawfish, shrimp, and clams. As others noted, the shrimp was mushy and was clearly frozen before. Having craved Cajun boil, it still 100 percent hit the spot while eating and we walked away satisfied. The reason for the one star is this - the next day we both became extremely sick. This was nausea, feeling light headed, and overall feeling like a wet kitten. This got worse over the course of the day where my partner and I literally could not move from our bed all day. I have no idea whether some of the seafood might have been bad as the house sauce coats everything in strong oily flavor. Needless to say due to the experience and feeling like poo the next day, I will definitely never go back and cannot in good conscience recommend this place to any friends. read more

Lastnight my bestfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to a Seafood Broil and I am sooo mad it was a waste of money! The first of the food was Luke warm which is crazy because we called it in to be made for pick up but the order wasn't made until we got there and paid how is this not hot? We asked for the house special sauce the bag was filled with oil that's it. The smell that came from the food was rank fishy smell and it was clear the food had not been cleaned. I tried to call today and the gentleman who answered was very pleasant in taking my call but had no resolution being that his manager is not in. That is unacceptable! Awesome place and nice service too! We love trying out places away from the traditional tourists traps in downtown. While in Seattle I searched for a great seafood boil type spot and trusted my fellow yelpers with their reviews and we were not disappointed. This place has some great food. This place is to die for!!! I tried crawfish for the first time here and I've only been coming here ever since. Their house sauce for the boils are so good, recommend getting the bread to soak all the sauce up at the end. The fried gizzards are my favorite here, it's got a nice and crispy batter. Try the tango sauce! It's sweet and tangy and if you add spice to it, it's so good. The service can be slow if they are busy during the night time or weekends but it's worth the wait. The crawfish and shrimp there are always fresh and big but you can skip the mussels. Spicy seafood boil! This spot in White Center is huge and the interior is decorated kind of like a wooden boat, with fake sea creatures and netting and buoys and punny signage. And TVs, so you can watch you favorite sports sports sports. When we walked in, we were asked whether we were over 21 or not. I guess they like to separate families and parties who are all over 21. We were directed to sit on the left hand side of the restaurant where the bar and the over 21s sit. The right hand side is where they put all the families with children. They offer many things on their menu, but we wanted to do seafood boil! The seafood boils are sold by the pound, and the prices vary, depending on the market price. In the restaurant on the wall, they put up the current market price. You pick the seafood and how many pounds of it you want - options are crawfish, snow crab, dungeness crab (this one you have to take the whole one, you can't order this one by the pound), king crab, mussels, clams, and gulf shrimp. Step 2 is to pick your sauce for the boil - options are the Louie Boil, garlic and butter, the House sauce (which is garlic and butter and special secret spices and is their most popular sauce), and Tango. Then step 3 is to pick your spicy level - I PICKED LEVEL FOUR. So even though this place is called Crawfish House, they had run out of crawfish the night before and weren't getting a new shipment until later that evening. That was really unfortunate to not have the one item that your restaurant is named after, especially on a weekend. So my friend and I ended up ordered the a pound of the mussels, a pound of the snow crab, and a pound of the gulf shrimp, all with the House sauce. If you want, you can add sides for an additional charge. My friend added corn and sausage, and I ordered the sausage and potatos. You get plastic gloves and this awesome plastic bib. Apart from the food, the bib was the best part. The food comes in plastic bags. My friend's mussels were ordered at a spicy level 3, so hers came in a separate bag. The level 4 was actually pretty spicy. I was sweating while eating and it was gooooooood. The flavor was really tasty. It's a lot of work peeling the shrimp and cracking the shrimp legs - but the food was worth the effort. This is a very messy eating experience, so keep that in mind (as in, don't wear your nicest clothes). The snow crab was really yummy. For the sides, the potatoes were delicious - they use the little red skinned potatoes. The sausage was just ok, so the next time I come here, I'm going to skip the sausages and just get all potatoes! The service here was pretty great. Our server was great at explaining how the seafood boil worked and answering all our questions and came by to check up on us. The only downside to this place is how wasteful it is in terms of the plastic and Styrofoam. The cups come in Styrofoam cups with straws, the seafood boils come in plastic bags, the plastic gloves, the plastic bib, and the tables are lined with white butcher paper (so it's easy cleanup for staff). But I still want to come to back to get more snow crab and potatoes...level 4! read more

Hardest working group of servers I have ever seen. I never comment on the service unless it is STELLAR and these folks really deserve the praise. They had over 50+ to prep for take out while we were there for about an hour...all while being yelled at by customers who had to wait. The young gal kept her cool with a smile on her face. We went with the classic Louie seasoning and the House butter garlic. We were warned by our surly waitress that their spice rating is pretty hot so went with 3 star spice level which left our lips numb with sweet pain! Food comes out unadorned in clear plastic bags and piping hot! You also get an ego busting full on bib and plastic gloves to help you stay somewhat clean during the carnage. Recommend getting a side of bread or white rice to sop up all the flavorful juices! Also got 1 lb of shrimp which was great (served with head on! awesome) After all was consumed it actually wasn't too expensive and bill came to roughly $36/person. I am not really good at eating spicy food but the level 1 was a perfect amount of spice, it was more flavorful than spicy! The crawfish and shrimp were AMAZING. The flavor of the tango sauce really works well with the seafood. The clam chowder was also really good, with a good amount of clam in it. Do not be alarmed by the location or the physical attributes of this restaurant. We also ordered the Cajun fries and vietnamese bread and both came out freshly fried/baked. They give you gloves to eat your food with, but there's so much sauce that it does soak through. I ordered the head on gulf shrimp with garlic butter sauce and it was fantastic. The meat was juicy, not overcooked at all. Customer service was stellar. However, not gonna lie that I had my doubts about the place. The little strip where this restaurant is located doesn't seem to be bustling and when I went inside, the interior is a tad bit outdated. BUT it never took away from the experience. You get to choose from garlic butter, house butter with their special spices and the Louisiana boil. We chose the first two. Ain't nuttin wrong with mo' butta! Especially garlic! You even get to choose the spiciness, so we got the middle number, 3. The first one we got was red king crab at 20.99/lb in house butter sauce. It is the largest king crab they have. We got a lb, which only gave us two crab legs. We even ordered 4 pieces of corn and 4 pieces of sausages for 3.00 extra. We should have ordered some bread too, to sop up all of the buttery goodness! The spice was good and gave some redness through the butter. What's even better is that instead of mallets and crab crackers, they give you kitchen shears to cut your crab with. Ingenious! They even have gloves and a lobster bib you can use. The second round we got the garlic butter with the snow crab and shrimp. Snow crab was 12 dollas a lb and shrimp was 13 dollars a lb. The shrimp is not headless, so I had to show my friend how to take the heads off. More garlicky than the house butter. They gave us about 12 snow crab for 1 lb and shrimp was about 10. We also ordered the fried pickles, which to me was ok, it tasted like pickles that were in a jar and covered in calamari breading and fried.
