We couldn't decide between lunch and dinner, and we ended up going during happy hour. We were able to get some of their food and cocktails at a nice price. We sat inside, even though I had requested outside on my reservation, but the inside decor is very cute too and we were close enough to the open patio. I tried their geoduck clam chowder and Caesar salad and both were delicious. My husband and son got the fish and chips. They both loved it. The fish had a super crispy coating but not too much coating so the fish still shined. Quality was present in everything we ordered. I ordered a lemoncello spritz and my son ordered a pina colada. My spritz was ok but not much lemon flavor. My son loved his though and ordered a second one. We were all too full to order dessert, but I had mentioned in my reservation that this was for a birthday and nothing was said by our waitress, which makes me wonder why they ask in the first place. However, this place has a beautiful atmosphere right next to the beach across the street and phenomenal food, so I am sure my son will be back and so will we when we visit again. The menu is pretty simple and basic but you can tell they use fresh and clean ingredients! (1 star off because of the limited menu.) Celebrating my birthday at 6:30PM on a Sunday with wife, daughter, son-in-law and 2 teen grandchildren. First time, but my daughter had been there before. Alki Beach is a noisy crowded place and parking is almost impossible. Our son-in-law dropped us off and went off hunting for parking. It took at least 15 minutes. We ordered drinks for everyone during the wait. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but everything we ordered was unique and impressive. We will definitely come back but perhaps at not on a Sunday night during the World Cup. read more

The place was super cute and had a great ambiance and view. Overall, the food was good, especially the oysters. I do wish they had Eggs Benedict on the menu like they used to, I was disappointed they didn't. They also charge for soda refills even after we said we didn't want them... We ordered a sourdough grilled cheese and asked for no peppers (why would you even put peppers in a grilled cheese in the first place?) It came with peppers, and when we asked for it to be remade without them, they clearly just picked the peppers out and served us the same sandwich. It was cold, half empty, and obviously not remade. On a recent trip to Seattle, a friend took me here for lunch. She made a reservation and asked for seats in the newly renovated atrium. When we arrived, just after they opened, we were the third party in the restaurant. The atrium was really cute. It had a glass chandelier, great decor, and a view of Alki Beach. Our waiter brought us some water and we both decided to order the quiche (daily special was spinach, mushroom and goat cheese) along with a cup of clam chowder. Being that the restaurant was kind of empty, it took a while for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, the chowder was tepid at best and quiche was ice cold. I flagged the waiter down and as he took away our plates, he made a comment about the oven not being set correctly, which I thought was a bit odd. To me, it seemed as if our food may have been waiting a while to get picked up. Nevertheless, our food returned shortly thereafter piping hot. The chowder was delicious, definitely one of the tastiest I've had in Seattle. I found the quiche to be lacking in flavor and then noticed that there were no salt or pepper shakers on any of the tables, which I also thought was a bit odd. After we had finished eating, the waiter asked my friend if she wanted a box for her quiche. When he returned with the box, he did not clear our dishes or ask if we were ready for our check. I had to flag him down to ask for it. I noticed they added a $3 service fee to the bill, not quite sure what that was about, as the food was already a bit pricier than other restaurants in the area and there were issues with our food. I guess it's for the beach view? Overall, this was a decent meal, but I just don't get what all the hype is about. read more

First-The restaurant is gorgeous in a very unpretentious way. A friend and I stumbled across Harry's after a walk on Alki. We pulled up to the bar for a post walk boozy brunch. The staff were all extremely friendly and knowledgable. We both had delicious cocktails and the burger! Soft toasted bun, crisp bacon...fantastic! Fries outstanding! Tartar sauce made me want to try their fish and chips. I've been back twice. Both times same excellent food and experience. The last time I was just dropping in on friends and couldn't stay long and ordered toast & hot water with lemon. I recently went to Harry's Beach House during happy hour. We chose outside seating and the ambiance was really nice, with views of the beach and perfect amount of sunshine. The staff were super friendly and very prompt and attentive the entire time. I had a Harry's G&T which was very refreshing. We got the caesar salad, the fish sandwich and clam chowder. We also tried a couple of oysters on a half shell. The caesar salad was okay but all the other food was very fresh and tasty. The prices are a bit on the higher side so going during happy hour was a good idea. Went to Harry's for brunch. The portions are surprisingly small for breakfast, so don't go if you're really hungry. I ordered the steak and eggs, and the steak was maybe 5 ounces at most and came out overdone. I ate it anyway because I was starving, but it definitely wasn't worth the price. Our waiter's body language was so poor, they gave us the wrong happy hour menus so we couldn't get calamari. And gave us tap water, like wtf? They gave us the option to get bottled sparkling water for an up charge as a replacement for clean filtered water. Wednesday June 10, 1PM My friend and I arrived for 1PM lunch and were greeted by a front desk person who casually looked us up and down without a shred of warmth, then turned us over to a wait staff equally cool. he seated us under a bright, hot mid day sun to which we requested to move. He then left us to fend for ourselves and find a place for my walker. we both ordered a Caesar salad and fish and chips. The Caesar was lovely, but the heavily battered fish had no flavor, none. when the bill was placed before us we were shocked at the price although we knew it would be high, with tip already added it was a little gross. When a tip that high is added, it tells me two things, the service and food are less than stellar and the place knows that the customer might not tip enough or tip at all. We hadn't made it to the beach this summer and with the water taxi, getting to Alki beach is not that difficult. With a patio view, and some wind, we sat down for a great meal. I did a dozen oysters, of which my daughter took one. My daughter had the burger, which was excellent and definitely enough for two. My wife got the BLT with a salad. The food was delicious, the service was warm, attentive and it was fun to see the servers interact with the woman celebrating a birthday during retirement. The cheapest wine by the glass is $16.00 the 2 dinners we were paying for halibut and Louie with 2 glasses of wine came to $136.00. There are those rare moments when the intersection of food, service and the setting creates something extraordinary. It was brilliant and one of the best dining experiences I have had in Seattle area with the focus being exceptional food. Last night (10 June), we were welcomed and delighted by JJ who we instantly connected with offerings suggestions and guiding us even though we had already zeroed in on a few items. He offered a great choice in a Pinot Noir that was a perfect complement to dinner. The experience was perfect and made magical by JJ. I was lucky to be joined by my friend, the diva foodie of Seattle who has many times shared the gems of Seattle. Tonight, she delivered. We started with Washington oysters that were fresh and flavorful. A sampling of six different oysters laid out from sweet to briney. Next, a little piece of heaven was put on our plate with bone marrow, fresh blueberry, and crusty bread. I was moved by this dish, simply exceptional. Next, we both had the halibut special that had incredible contrasts of flavor and texture highlighted by perfect grapefruit that complemented a perfectly cooked piece of fish. JJ suggested we cap the evening with the lemon tart and blueberries with some 10 year old port on the side. Great combination. The lemon tart and the blueberries were great. complemented with a nicely toasted granola and fresh whipped cream. One of the best desserts I've had this year. Great spot if you're craving oysters on a hot, sunny day at Alki Beach. They offer a variety of oysters, all fairly sized with a sweet, fresh taste. I had a friend visiting in town from Portland and he had been around the touristy parts of Seattle. He has never visited West Seattle, so I took him all over the place including Alki. As we walked around Alki we decided to check out Harry's Beach House. We had to wait a little for seating even though there were quite a bit of seats already opened. Perhaps they didn't have enough staff? No worries though, we eventually got seated in the semi-outdoor patio. Our servers were friendly, and we got our meals quickly. I had ordered the Harry's breakfast platter. Nothing crazy about it, got some eggs, toast, potatoes, avocados, and spreads. Toast was really good though. It was an average plate, but I would probably get something else. My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy and said it was really good. I may come back here again and would try something different. We had a fantastic experience at Harry's! My friends and I wandered in after an afternoon at Alki beach. They easily accommodated our request to sit on their patio to enjoy the nice weather. The decor is upscale "beach" themed but really tasteful. The lighting on a sunny day is beautiful. Oysters were delicious. One of the best cups of clam chowder I've ever had. Definitely exceeded my expectations. 10/10 recommend. *edit To make things even better we were complimentary given a slide of chocolate cake.
