    Bread and oysters

Amazing experience! The wine selection is decent, the mixed drinks are good, the service is excellent, and the food is spectacular! We tried the oysters, two different salads, the bread, and all three main entrees on the menu, and everything was delicious. Also, dessert--the honey cake! We chose the window seating to watch the sunset and had a great evening. Give it a try! It won't disappoint.

Lovely restaurant focusing on PacNW, seasonal, and seafood. The decor is a modern twist on a beach front restaurant with lots of great details, from a driftwood host table to shell-shaped sconces. Service is friendly and helpful. The drink list is great - my friend had the seasonal egg nog and I had a local red blend. It went well with the rolls and pork chop. Pork chop was excellent with super interesting sides - a baked apple stuffed with apple? and hazelnut. There was enough for two meals. Dessert is not an afterthought - the pineapple quince upside down cake was a standout. Can't wait to go again and try some small plates.

We had a fancy date night at driftwood and had a great experience! It had been on my list to try forever. They recently got on the inKind app, so we actually had a reward to use there and got 25$ off our bill! The two entrees were delicious and the server was friendly and attentive. Great fresh ingredients!

The absolute BEST BEST BEST food I've ever had. I can't express how delicious this place is. We went for dinner twice in a row here on our 3 day trip to Seattle lol. The burnt Bartlett pear salad is to die for, the flavours go so well together. I'll be dreaming about it ages and I'm so sad because this restaurant works with seasonal produce, so next time I'm back they might not even have it! Not a single dish here misses.

If you're in for a splurge, this is a hidden gem. Located in Alki, it is right across the street from Alki Beach, so if your dinner is timed well, you could either watch the sunset in one of the tables or walk along the beach during sunset! Makes a perfect romantic dinner. I made reservations for 5:30pm just in case but showed up early, around opening. We thought the restaurant was still closed but the wind was the culprit to make the door hard to open haha. We were willing to splurge as this restaurant now adopts InKind and that app has referral bonuses to make this meal almost free for us. We got the following to share, which is a satisfactory amount for 2 people: - House pull-apart rolls: the bread was okay but I loved the seasoning and the honey butter. Getting the half order for $6 was the move for the variety. - Washington Coast rockfish crudo: the fish was fresh and I liked the summery ingredients (strawberry, radish, etc) - Makah Nation black cod: the fish is very tender and the preparation makes it a bit sweet. The potatoes and the black garlic paste made the dish hearty and very Asian fusion. It's kind of expected at this point that people like to make the black cod of Asian fusion, so this was not any different. - Butcher's Cut pork chop: I love this pork chop! It is so tender from the 5 hour brining + medium rare preparation, with the peaches in between to add some sweetness. The fried polenta was delicious and has corn inside, and there is also some chorizo and corn-pepper combo on the side to further enhance the dish. This is great value despite the price tag as there is so much involved in this dish - This does not taste like watermelon! ;) cocktail: they do have watermelon but the cocktail uses other craft ingredients to make the drink more peppery Service is good as water refills were constant, the server checked up on us periodically, and the server even switched plates and utensils and clean the table in between each course (not just only before dessert). For almost $100/person, this meal is definitely a splurge. However, I found the experience worthwhile, with the food quality and service standard matching the more classic, pricier fine dining establishments.

Driftwood is easily one of my top restaurants in Seattle. Their food and drink programs are outstanding. Everything is locally sourced and thoughtfully tied to the region. They consistently craft strong seasonal menus with a level of focus and detail that keeps someone like me coming back. I love having a few reliable staples, but the fact that their menu rotates while maintaining such top quality is truly impressive. If I could live in this restaurant, I would. The view of Alki and the water-inspired aesthetic tie perfectly into the restaurant's name and atmosphere, it feels serene, elevated, and effortless all at once. Service is always excellent. My partner and I usually sit at the counter so we can chat with the bartender, who not only makes incredible in-house cocktails, but always has great recommendations for what's best that night. We also love watching the open kitchen, the chef and his team move with such precision and rhythm, it's like watching an art form. A fun bonus: the chef is often at the West Seattle Farmers Market sourcing ingredients, which says a lot about their commitment to local food. I always make a point to compliment their efforts and visit at least once a quarter. Driftwood is such a gem, and I hope it stays in our neighborhood for a long time!

This is a great all around restaurant. I love that the menu was simple and not a Cheesecake Factory sized booklet. Service was fantastic. Attentive staff. I loved that we could see the good being plated. Really cool open kitchen concept. The ambience was great and I can see in the summer time how the decor just goes with the Alki Beach vibe. We loved all our food. The beet salad was amazing, carpaccio was good and you can actually see the shaved truffles. The pork chop was so good and very balanced with the poached pear.

Delightful spot for Valentine's Day dinner. And so tasty! We enjoyed everything we ordered and loved the unturned or server gave us on the dishes to help make decisions. We shared the oysters, green sea urchin, hot rolls and squash handpie. He loved his porkchop and I enjoyed the sturgeon. Apple upside cake to end the meal.

Smaller restaurant on Alki worth a visit. Beachy interior though we couldn't figure out the dried garlic stalks hanging from the ceiling. Didn't fit the deco. Cocktails were good (spiced pear sour, gimlet, hot toddy) and service was good. We had: 1) pull-apart rolls - 3/5. Kinda salty and the pine butter didn't work well for us 2) beet salad - 3/5. I don't like goat cheese, but my friends liked it ok 3) clam steamer - 5/5. Great flavor and enjoyed the noodles instead of the usual dipping bread 4) oysters - 5/5. So fresh and loved the apple bits 5) tempura squash - 4/5. Not too much batter so that was good. 6) cod - 5/5. Good flavor and decent cut. 7) pork chops - 5/5. I don't normally like pork chops, but it was the best I've ever had. So tender and flavorful. It was a little fatty, but I was willing to overlook that for the overall deliciousness. Get this. Seriously. 8) pineapple cake - 4/5. Moist and the ice cream came with some popped grains that were yummy.

I've been hearing about this place for a while and finally made a reservation and it was worth it! I love the ambience for a date night. We tried a number of dishes and liked them all. The menu does change seasonally. It's also right by the water so you can go for a walk on Alki after eating.

Great new place on Alki beach that brings together amazing food, flavor and atmosphere. We came in with a party of 4 on a weekend night. It was pretty packed but fortunately we had reservations. They do have a bar and some seats by the window overlooking Alki that are walk up if you don't have any. Food was absolutely on point. My friend was a little concerned because they only had 3 mains listed on the menu. However, there were plenty of appetizers and smaller dishes that gave us lots of options. We ordered the bread, oysters, and a couple of the produce items. Everything was delish you literally can't go wrong with anything. For mains we both ordered the pork chop. This is a MUST order! Literally the best most juicy/flavorful I've ever had. Dessert was also so good but pork chop was the real deal. Only downside was restaurant was very cold. We basically wore our jackets the entire time. Maybe I'd sit further back closer to the kitchen next time. But this place is a must check out and we will def be back!

The food is absolutely phenomenal. They serve locally sourced ingredients from local farms. We ordered Taylor shellfish Mediterranean Mussels and the House Pull-Apart Rolls as appetizers. The mussels were sweet and flavorful. Form our main dishes, we ordered-- piece by piece farm heirloom tomatoes, Olsen farm new fingerling potatoes and butchers cut pork chop. The pork chop was cooked to perfection and it probably one of the best I've ever had. It was juicy and tender. We ended with they're hazelnut pie. It's perfect, not to sweet and paired with vanilla ice cream. We were sad they didn't have the sunchokes that day but we look forward to coming back to try the other dishes.

This place was definitely with leaving downtown and heading over to West Seattle! The service was wonderful and had great suggestions. The dressed oysters and sturgeon were incredible!

Any wheat/gluten free options besides salad?

They update the menu seasonally so I can't give a definitive answer. But I have celiac disease and, when we went there in April 2023, I had plenty of options.

    What are the vegan options?

When we arrived, just after they opened, we were the third party in the restaurant. The atrium was really cute. It had a glass chandelier, great decor, and a view of Alki Beach. Our waiter brought us some water and we both decided to order the quiche (daily special was spinach, mushroom and goat cheese) along with a cup of clam chowder. Being that the restaurant was kind of empty, it took a while for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, the chowder was tepid at best and quiche was ice cold. I flagged the waiter down and as he took away our plates, he made a comment about the oven not being set correctly, which I thought was a bit odd. To me, it seemed as if our food may have been waiting a while to get picked up. Nevertheless, our food returned shortly thereafter piping hot. The chowder was delicious, definitely one of the tastiest I've had in Seattle. I found the quiche to be lacking in flavor and then noticed that there were no salt or pepper shakers on any of the tables, which I also thought was a bit odd. After we had finished eating, the waiter asked my friend if she wanted a box for her quiche. When he returned with the box, he did not clear our dishes or ask if we were ready for our check. I had to flag him down to ask for it. I noticed they added a $3 service fee to the bill, not quite sure what that was about, as the food was already a bit pricier than other restaurants in the area and there were issues with our food. I guess it's for the beach view? Overall, this was a decent meal, but I just don't get what all the hype is about.

The decor was clean and comfortable--nothing flashy, just a nice, welcoming setup. It's not a huge place, but there's a fair amount of seating, especially when you include the bar area. The overall vibe is kind of a mix between a sports bar and an Asian restaurant, with TVs in the bar showing different games, which is great if you like to catch some sports while you eat. They also have a full bar, so you can enjoy a drink with your meal or just relax with a cocktail while watching a game.
