My best friends took me here for my first time a few years ago and now I crave it all time and though it's not always consistent in flavor and spice, I still think it's the best and at a reasonable price too. My go-to is always 2lbs of shrimp in 4 or 5 stars tango sauce with corn & sausages, cajun fries, and a banh mi (to dip in the dank sauce and eat duh). When I go with my best friends, we would order a 10-20 stars hot sauce (depending on what we're feeling) on the side to dip in. It. Is. Fireeeee. But your butthole will be feeling it later. One time I brought some home to eat with my dad and my dad saved the tango sauce to mix with some udon noodles (dry style, not soup) and let's say...that changed my life lol. read more

It even comes with spicy salt and lime wedges whether you like it or not. Mind you, the boil here isn't with the dry rub, it is with butter.. or at least the ones that we ordered this time. You get to choose from garlic butter, house butter with their special spices and the Louisiana boil. We chose the first two. Ain't nuttin wrong with mo' butta! Especially garlic! You even get to choose the spiciness, so we got the middle number, 3. The first one we got was red king crab at 20.99/lb in house butter sauce. It is the largest king crab they have. We got a lb, which only gave us two crab legs. We even ordered 4 pieces of corn and 4 pieces of sausages for 3.00 extra. We should have ordered some bread too, to sop up all of the buttery goodness! The spice was good and gave some redness through the butter. What's even better is that instead of mallets and crab crackers, they give you kitchen shears to cut your crab with. Ingenious! They even have gloves and a lobster bib you can use. The second round we got the garlic butter with the snow crab and shrimp. Snow crab was 12 dollas a lb and shrimp was 13 dollars a lb. The shrimp is not headless, so I had to show my friend how to take the heads off. More garlicky than the house butter. They gave us about 12 snow crab for 1 lb and shrimp was about 10. We also ordered the fried pickles, which to me was ok, it tasted like pickles that were in a jar and covered in calamari breading and fried. Not wanting to cook and wanting something unique for Easter this year, we decided this place definitely fit the bill. My wife and I had been here once before and loved it. We're a little more city oriented than our family so we knew Rat City would be an interesting experience for them. We got there when it opened and the waitress Yvonne was very sweet. She catered to our family with recognition of their newness to Louisiana cuisine. She went out of her way to make it a memorable experience. Everyone enjoyed the food. The crab boils and crawfish soup were delish. I recommend their Po' Boys, especially the crawfish or catfish. This restaurant went up a couple notches on the rotation today. read more

Delicious pot of seafood ! Highly recommend corn added to the pot. As each piece is a 1/3 of a full cob and with the taste you can easily eat two pieces a person when hungry. Buddies also recommended dipping the shrimp/ bread into the sauce in the bowl and the flavor amazed me for the original sauce. Cajun fries were extremely spicy and I do regularly enjoy spicy foods; really good portion size on the fries for a solid 2-4 people easily. Service was good but can take some time when it's busy. Four stars for the food, and service. Our first time there, and they took care of us. We did get there early before the dinner rush so that could've been in our favor. Our server really helped us decide what to order, and it was nice that our non seafood eaters had the choice of other items off the menu. Most of us decided on the Boils, and 5 of us got our own since we like different items. Everything came out piping hot. I myself got the crawfish, and king crab,(I'm allergic to everything else especially shrimp ) and you get one slice of spicy sausage, and 1 small corn in the cob. You can order more if you want, but I was so full I had to take the rest of my food home. Now the not so nice part. Keep in mind it's not the restaurants fault, it's just location. So parking is to be desirable. I lucked out because I was so early I parked right in front. There were total four cars in our party, and we all found parking. Again that's because we had dinner at 530pm. I was told don't park at the paradise bar lot right next door or you'll get towed, and the fine is pretty steep, I was also told they're pretty mean about it. So don't park there. Also, the neighborhood is not for the faint of heart. That being said I grew up in L.A., and so did my guest who found this place on Yelp. And my friends were up here visiting from gang territory of L.A., so no big deal. But I know some of you might raise your brows, so keep in mind you're in the White Center neighborhood. I'm actually glad I drove to that area, because I saw other restaurants I want to try now. There is however one thing I will say I didn't like, there's a sign stating that the establishment does not allow firearms where they serve alcohol due to city ordinance. But that's if they sell 50% alcohol at their establishment. I could be wrong, but this place doesn't look like they sell 50% alcohol, 50% food. Places like this would be more food. I find that unsettling since I do have a conceal permit, I just wasn't packin at the time. If I did have my firearm with me, they would've lost our business the other night because in no way would've I leave it in my car. Plus we didn't see the sign until we were leaving. Again, I'm not sure if I should blame the restaurant or more the city they are in. Because none of the places in my area that serves alcohol has it posted. A friend told me about this place and I always hear that it's one of the best spots to go for crawfish in Seattle. It's good but it's not the best or that amazing. We got crawfish, clams and shrimp. We decided on the house sauce, and got our spice level 3. I probably could have gotten 4 but I wanted to try it out - 3 is a good amount of spice. Prices vary so you won't know until you get there. Our bill was around $40 (1 lb crawfish, shrimp and clams + fries) They also have different varieties of crab but you have to buy it by the whole. They also have mussels. The sauce the boil is steamed in seemed more on the oily side, I like when the sauce is thicker so you can taste the seasonings and garlic in it. It didn't seem like there was much to dip our seafood in besides oil. The person who welcomed us was really friendly. Our boil took a while and it wasn't really that busy for a Saturday, we ordered a side of fries which came out first. But we ended up waiting 30 minutes for the boil so it was cold by the time we got our seafood. I came here on a friday night and this place was crazily packed. It was almost an hour wait for 2 people. But as soon as we sat down and started eating, it just blows you away. We got the friday special which was 5 lbs of crawfish for about $40 and added 2 lbs of king crab. We got it in the house special sauce which consisted of garlic, butter and spices. The cajun boil was served w/ sausages and corn and we ordered a french bread to dip our sauce in. OMG!!! The crawfish was fat and meaty and the best part is when you cut into the king crab legs, you pull out a big fatty piece of meat and dunk it into the sauce. Maybe not a good idea as a first date cause trust me it will get messy and sloppy, but there's no other way to eat it. They give you plastic gloves and a bib. The seafood comes out in a large plastic bag and it's laid over a large white paper on top of the table. We sat at the bar area, so our server/ bartender was very entertaining. Fried Pickles | if I were pregnant, this would be the ONE thing that I would order over and over again. The spicy mayo is delish and complements the flavor quite nicely. 2. This place was delicious! Best spot around for a seafood boil. It's not fancy or pretentious so wear whatever you don't mind getting saucy and grab a bib! It was definitely fun for a family night out but I could see myself going back with friends too. If you come here, you might get crabs. No, not THAT kind of crabs. I'm talking about Dungeness, snow, and king crab, which is also a menu item. This place is a gem. It's a big echoey room and its kind of loud. There's a fun and charming appeal to this place, with the walls decked out with nautically themed decor and TV's all around in case there's game on. You order your boil by the pound and it comes in a plastic bag lathered up in your choice of spice level and sauce type (house sauce is apparently their best). You can mix and match from their selection to get some of this and that, but always get the crawfish since that's their specialty- hey, why not throw in something extra like crab, mussels, clams, or prawns too? The fried rice is one of their most popular side dishes and comes with a good amount of flare from the spices and peppers. Also, the cajun wings are great with a spicy rub that gives them a nice crispy zest. The fried gizzards are good sharable item too. Aside from the food, I like that they offer a bib and gloves to keep you clean while you eat. That's pretty smart and thoughtful of them to include. I'm not much too into cajun cooking, but this would definitely be a place I'd revisit, since it's low-key (White Center isn't as mainstream/gentrified/whitened compared to say Capitol Hill or Ballard) and has the capacity to accommodate larger groups. read more

Unfortunately, I have to update my review and take away some stars. This place has steadily gone downhill over the years. Used to be my favorite restaurant but the prices have gone up while the quantity has gone down. Came here for the anniversary special, and the host who I assume is named Jade (her shirt said "Jaded" on it - how professional) was clearly in over her head, she kept staring blankly at the sign in sheet while people were waiting and there were multiple open tables. I also don't appreciate how she tried to force politics down our throats, as she had "Defend DACA" and "BLM" written on her shirt. Please don't bring politics into the workplace. I came to enjoy a meal, I don't want to be served by someone with divisive political statements written on her shirt, just as I wouldn't want to be served by someone wearing a Trump hat either. Only expect about 6 shrimp per pound, at $15.99 per pound, its rough paying nearly $3 per shrimp when it's 60% head. The food here is nasty ... I ordered fried pickles and the gulf shrimp with corn, sausage, and potatoes to go. The seasoning wasn't even mixed in with the items first off you have to add it in yourself. The shrimp are supposed to be big pieces of shrimp but I had medium and small sized shrimp in my bag. The corn was actually good once it had seasoning on it but the potatoes and sausage were absolutely disgusting! I thought that the potatoes and sausage were spoiled or old with the way they tasted! I've tried crawfish king up in ID and while the sauce has more of a depth and really has a good kick to it compared to this place I think the seafood that crawfish house has is unparalleled to anywhere else. We ordered: 6 pounds of snow crab 3 pounds of crawfish 1 pound of mussels 1 pound of headless shrimp 6 orders of sausage, potatoes and corn 3 loafs of bread We got 3 stars of the house special sauce and it was the perfect amount of spice. Everything was perfect and at a reasonable price, we paid about 170 for all that food and we didn't have to wait too long for our order to be ready. Ivonne was the server who helped us and she helped me figure out how much food I needed for 8 people. I appreciated her helpfulness and kindness/humor through this pandemic. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and lived there for my entire life until recently moving to Seattle! Furthermore, we ordered eight pounds of Louisiana crawfish (2.5 pounds per person is usually enough), Louie style, spice level three, with corn, sausage and potatoes. This tasted exactly like what I'm used to having back home! Louisiana crawfish aren't in season currently, so they are a bit soft, and small, but in a few months they will be perfect! When I asked my sister and brother-in-law to bring me to their favorite local spot, I was not expecting food and customer service as BOMB as this place. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big crawfish boil fan to begin with, so this place changed my mindset. *MIND BLOWN* We came at a point when things were starting to reopen more nationally (mid-May 2021), and masks are still required by the establishment if you weren't eating or drinking, and their entire team also wore masks for their customers' benefit. A decision I can appreciate and respect. There was a sign-in sheet when you arrived to wait for a dine-in table experience. It took us about 15 minutes to get a table, and we went during dinner service around 5:30pm. It was really cool to see them accommodate another customers' request to move tables 'cause they wanted to watch the Golden State Warriors' game, but also accommodate us by cleaning the table per COVID-19 guidelines before seating us at the previously occupied table. I'd go back simply because I trust them to care for their customers and their staff. Speaking of staff... I think her name was Evonne - she was the nicest person I've ever met in all my Seattle trips! Hahaha... Loved how she cracked a few jokes with me as I glowed from drinking too much XD Chatted it up with us about my family being transplants from Vegas, etc. When she wasn't working the area to bring food, drinks and check on dine-in customers, she and the host were working the order pickup area like a troopers. Just observations that made me appreciate them all more. Food was amazing! LOL. I felt my lips have that lingering spicy heat from their boil XD It wasn't a spicy experience that was just hot to be hot either - loved the seafood flavors coming through from the king crab and shrimp.
