Awesome atmosphere and phenomenal beer selection. I went there with my laptop to get homework done and ordered the hummus dip during happy hour. The homemade hummus dip was large in size and would've been great for sharing but I ate most of it as a meal by myself. The bartender (forgot his name) was super knowledgeable of the beer and when I told him what kind of beer I liked he brought me a similar style that tasted amazing. I love this place! The staff is so super friendly. Everything is well lit and the long wall of beer taps is shiny and clean. The food here is delicious, we love their burgers. Finally a beer bar close to Firethorne. Great selection of craft beer. Servers and bartenders are very welcoming and are quick to share popular beers. Food is very ok, stick with the pretzel bites. Server very nice but completely unfamiliar with selection and unable to give any info about types of beers. Server took 1 order at a time and half of our table went directly to bar to get samples since server took sooooo long and could not take more than 1 order. We ended up ordering 1 flight and then after becoming irritated just left so we could get drinks and dinner at Anthonies in simonton. The Growler Spot in Fulshear much much better from small menu to beer selection and info from bartenders...we won't be back! On a final note...it was a little dirty. read more

I don't drink but the food was quite good, especially for the reasonable prices. The wings are bigger and cooked through compared to most places (I hate soggy wings). The spinach salad with brisket is good but suggest they break the brisket up more. Fries also unique and very good. Interior of the place is better than the usual strip-mall standard. There was only one server managing the entire place including the bar, which seemed crazy but she still did a good job considering. This was mid-day on a Saturday when it was about 75 percent full. I get the feedback about a kid-friendly pub being an odd combo but there's not much of a choice in Katy, make it family friendly or go out of business around here. Parents who are dumb enough to drink and drive with their kids are going to do that regardless of where they go. read more

I'll start off by saying the beer was great along with the pretzel and onion rings. My husband ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and they were meh. I ordered the chicken and avocado sandwich with garlic aoli. OMG, BEWARE of the garlic aoli!! I was starving so I ate it. It's been 2 hours and my throat is still burning. I tried milk and bread but nothing has stopped the burning from the raw garlic!! My husband took a bite and was blown away from how strong it was. He can still taste it. I told the waitress that it's way too garlicy and she said "well, it's garlic aoli" and walked off. I wanted to post a review so others are aware... so if you order the chicken sandwich order it with mayo instead! read more

This is my first time at this growler location. I went to the one in friendswood before it shut down and was very satisfied with the food, the sizes, and the prices, so my expectations were set very high. The one on katy has good service, but the portions were half of what they were at the friendswood location. Not only were the portions way smaller, they were the same price for less food. I did not think to take pictures before hand, but I did get a picture of the chips and salsa with a $2 add on queso... which was also very small. Don't think that appetizer should be $8 for what we were given. The burgers were the size of your palm for $12+. The food was subpar, tasted bland and was missing stuff. My burger was missing the tortilla chips and my boyfriends burger had very little bbq sauce. Like I said, I very much enjoyed my experience at the other location that unfortunately shut down, but the food at growlers in katy is... not good. The two stars are solely for the waitress, Rhiannon, because she was very nice and attentive. Very disappointed. read more

Great selection of beers. Wait staff didn't know much about them however. While filling my growler the bartender filled it 3/4 full and swore he measured 64 ounces (it has a 2L mark at the top lip, 64 ounces would place the level at the bottom of the neck). He did not understand why a growler must be full to retain carbonation. I promised to never bring my growler again. While I don't mind a pub, be forewarned I have visited here with 3/4 of the patrons were children. This isn't by accident. There are kids eat free nights, bingo for kids, etc. read more

I love this place and in fact my favorite in Katy. The bartenders are super friendly and let you taste anything with some great recommendation on beers if you are looking for. Lots of American Craft Beers, lots mean really a LOT. They have ABV 3% beer to 16% ABV. Ohh they also serve Wines which makes this place perfect for a couple. The bar tender was awesome, she had the patience and experience to explain the different brews and made great recommendations. After our drinks arrived (quickly) food was not far behind. One of the best chicken wings ever! Leaves most of the other restaurant who specialize in wings in the dust. Besides the wings we orders the brisket sliders! Okay, this place is totally a rip off! I've traveled all over the states and been to numerous cities, bars, breweries and brewpubs. To be located in West Katy and charge the prices they charge is just ridiculous. They do have a decent......and I'll say again decent. Nothing special just the typical selection of Craft Distributorship available in Texas "meaning they usually have stuff other places run out of". Food was excellent. Beer selection great. Joseph, the AGM and bartender of the night, was trash. He approached us with no hello, simply a "let me see that ID". Fine. We showed him our ID's and he walked away, without offering to get us started or waters or anything. From that point forward, Joseph seemed annoyed that we were of age and sitting at the bar. He finally left chatting with what seemed to be his regulars to get our drink order. Then eventually he got our app order. He did not say another word to us. We tried to be polite, maybe he was having a rough night, but we were not returned the favor. He simply pointed and looked. We had to assume what he was asking. We only ordered an app. The app was delicious. We had planned to spend our evening there. However, Joseph seemed more occupied with his regulars and his lack of communication to us set us off enough to leave after the app. The servers working were very polite when dropping our food off. Well, this is the 3rd time we had to return our food for not being cooked properly. Today was the last try...we always come for the pretzels and the first 2 seemed fine, but once we bit into the 3rd one it was raw and doughy. We told our nice waiter and he offered to have it remade, but we were pretty much done eating at that point. He brought us our bill and it wasn't taken off or at least a couple bucks off. We asked if it was going to be adjusted and he brought it to the manage r/bartender. I could see the annoyance in her face as she looked over in our direction. My husband proceeded to ask her if there was a problem and she back pedaled realizing we saw her exchange with the waiter. My husband explained how we have given them a few chances because awhile back the food was awesome. It just seems to be going downhill. It was dirty (tables/seats/floors). Only a few people were in there, so it wasn't too busy to clean. The reason we won't be back is that we told them it was their choice to adjust the bill or we wouldn't be back. They gave us the bill with no adjustment. We weren't being unreasonable and they just lost a few customers. The waiter was polite at least. Update: promised a gift card so we would give them a 2nd chance. Never received after they said they would send it 2 times. Oh well...we tried, but won't be back. read more

My wife, son, and I came in this evening to try some beer and food. Our server was James, I believe. He was very friendly and informative. He helped me pick out a beer. I like that they give you a sample to try before committing to a certain beer. The food was really good. We tried the brisket sliders, beer brat sliders, Mac and cheese, tater tots, and pizza for our son. The food was really good. Service was quick and friendly. Nice addition to West Katy! They have amazing selection, and there is usually a special event in progress. I acquired my most favorite glass (Alamo Brewing out of San Antonio) on my first visit. A glass night sponsored by a TX brewery seems to be a regular event. On my visit, this seems more a place for enjoying different local (TX) brews than eating, but the food looked good. read more
