Stopped by this place. It's new and the pictures looked good. It was about 2 on a Sunday. We walked in. No one at the front. We saw a few tables inside, not busy. No one greets us. We look at the menu at the hostess stand. Prices look a little high. Still no one comes over or says anything. So we left. The inside decor looked cute. Disappointing.

100/10 experience across the board! The owner, Mr Antwon, has a gem on his hand. The restaurant is one month old and it's exactly what the Fulshear/Brookshire area needs. Soulfood at its finest as though you're in gram's kitchen. The service from Amber was stellar to match. Love the ambiance and decor....very spacious and comfortable with good ole school RNB jams playing. Now to the delicious food....umm ummm ummm just amazing! We tried the spinach dip, corn ribs (sooo good), oxtail, yams, and fried fish. When I say EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING, I truly mean it. I'm sooooo happy this place is only 2 min away because it's my new favorite. Let's make sure to support as much as we can to keep this one here forever.

The fried chicken entree should be revised to read "fried chicken wings," as it is misleading if it is not at least a full piece of chicken for $27. However we enjoyed the philly cheese egg rolls and the chipotle aioli sauce it was served with. The ambiance of the restaurant can use some work as well, the music was playing when we walked in but then it was silent and very awkward. I agree with some of the other comments that the lighting is too bright considering there is a lot of light coming in from the large windows. This location is decorated beautifully and we enjoyed our visit.

Katy peeps... Katy peeps. I finally made it to this black owned spot in Brookshire and it was great. Its near Jordan Ranch. We arrived a little after 1 and the parking lot had too many empty spots. I didn't realize they opened at noon. We walked in and were greeted and immediately taken to our table. We did not make reservations. There were no grass walls and no blasting music. They had a nice calm vibe. Apparently today was the first day of their brunch menu, which was a little upsetting because I wanted to try their dinner menu that people rave about in reviews. But dinner is not served til 3. So we settled for brunch and glad we did. I ordered fish and cheesy grits and whoop it was good!!! That fish was perfect. We also had the pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes and all was good. The service was okay, they probably could turn it up a notch. But overall great experience and mainly due to the food. The cook is on point. By the time we were leaving, the parking spots start filling up. Now I have to make it back for dinner . We need to support this establishment.

Run out and support Etienna's Eatery on Jordan Ranch Blvd/Kingsland! The service and food were absolutely amazing! Delicious flavor and the bar drinks were really good too. We ordered deviled eggs, mac & cheese, fried mac & cheese balls, collard greens, corn, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, oxtails, yams, lamb chops, salmon, and shrimp & grits.

This restaurant delivers excellence on every level service, food, and personal connection. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and intentional. The waiter, Tim was very attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure every detail of the experience was perfect without ever feeling intrusive. The food was nothing short of outstanding beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care and passion. I had the bacon crisp deviled eggs as a starter and the cajun pasta as my entree paired with a glass of chardonnay. The dishes tasted fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully executed, the kind of meal that reminds you why dining out can be such a special experience. What truly set this place apart, though, was the one-on-one interaction with the owner/chef Mr. Antwon. Taking the time to personally connect, explain the inspiration behind the dishes, and ensure guests were enjoying themselves speaks volumes about the pride and heart poured into this restaurant. That level of personal engagement is rare and deeply appreciated. This is the kind of establishment that leaves a lasting impression and earns loyal customers and absolutely perfect for a date night.. I will absolutely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.

Quality and taste of food was amazing. Service was amazing, very cordial and attentive. I feel it is a little too bright for my liking, considering the music which I loved.

I always enjoy visiting this cafe on my annual visit to the area for the Houston rodeo. Brookwood…read moreis a residential facility that also provides vocational training and for jobs to adults with special needs. The cafe serves excellent lunches with a varied menu. I had salad that was stuffed with fresh lettuce, apples, candied pecans, blue cheese and a delicious apple vinaigrette dressing. I added grilled chicken, making it a healthy, yet filling meal. My friend had the chicken crepes which came with thick, beautiful asparagus and broccoli. The crepes were served with a mushroom cream sauce that made it a very rich dish. The chicken tortellini soup was the special of the day, and had a thick broth as the base, stuffed with chicken meat and cheese filled pasta. Everything was delicious, right down to the warm yeast rolls. Brookwood is a fun place to walk around after enjoying your meal because it has a beautiful nursery and gift shop with unique offerings, including some items made in the vocational programs. Many of the employees in the cafe and other commercial areas are part of the vocational programs, as well. All of them are friendly and proud to serve their patrons and supporters.

Decorated for the holidays, it was very festive, but even more important, the food and wait staff went beyond. Because of our size, we pre-ordered our lunches and had an 11 o'clock reservation, along with about 50 + other people. Our food came out almost immediately, and was nicely cooked and still warm. A rarity when you're serving that many people. The citizens of Brookwood were all friendly and welcoming. Thank you Brookwood for taking such good care of us.

Pure Soul on a Plate…read more This is real soul food done right. Every plate that hit the table looked like it came straight out of someone's Sunday kitchen--and tasted even better. The golden fried fish was perfectly seasoned with that crispy, cornmeal crunch on the outside and juicy, tender meat on the inside. No grease, no shortcuts--just flawless frying. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and unapologetically cheesy, with a homemade texture that lets you know this wasn't scooped from a box. The candied yams were soft, sweet, and spiced just right, with that deep, slow-cooked flavor you can only get from patience and tradition. And the collard greens & cabbage blend? Absolutely phenomenal. Cooked down beautifully, full of flavor, and balanced--savory, comforting, and satisfying without being heavy. Even the hushpuppies were standout: crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned all the way through. Beyond the food, you can feel the history and love behind every dish. This is the kind of place where recipes matter, portions are generous, and the goal is to feed your soul--not just your stomach. If you're looking for authentic Southern soul food that tastes like it was made with care and legacy, this spot is a must-visit. I'll absolutely be back.

What a great dining experience! This was my first time here. I was heading into heavy rush-hour…read moretraffic, so I decided to avoid it and stop to have a good meal before heading home. This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Overall, this was a really great dining experience and I'm so glad that bad traffic gave me the excuse to come here. Will definitely plan a return visit!!
