My wife got the California Eggs Benedict. Presentation was beautiful but flavor was pretty average. Needed salt, spices, sauce, etc. to make it really taste good. I got the pork carnitas skillet. This was the best thing we had - I especially loved the salsa and pork. Pretty filling meal, as well. My boy got the pancakes and they were average. The food was really good but the service was honestly unacceptable. Our server was cold towards us only checked in on us when we were almost done with our food. She also gave the same treatment to the table next to us. They asked for coffee and she set down an empty pot on their table and walked away without saying anything. One of the hosts had to flag our server down to get our check, even when she walked past our table and looked at the empty plates I prebussed. Maybe ask us if we're done? Also maybe don't leave full bus tubs next to tables that are sat. Not the best look especially to your guests walking in. I get being short staffed, I really do. I work at a brunch spot that does 200+ covers on our busiest days and even then we're lucky to have a food runner staffed. We manage because our servers do more than just take orders then dissappear. I usually tip 20% because I understand the burden of being a customer (and because we're never payed correctly and I want people to afford to live). Today? I never tipped so bad in my life. We loved this spot for breakfast on a Sunday morning! Every staff member we interacted with was SO kind and helpful. Even though they were busy, we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. It's bigger than it looks from the outside. The food was great! My husband loved the biscuits and gravy + country fried steak. I had the beggar's omelette, sans mushrooms. I also upgraded to a side of pancakes for $0.99, which was worth it. My only little complaint is that my husband asked our waiter if the country fried steak came with gravy on it, and our waiter said yes. Then when it arrived, it did not have gravy, and we were charged an extra $2.99 for a side of gravy to put on top of it, which seems a bit expensive. My husband was happy with the food though, so not a huge deal. Now we know for next time. We will definitely be back! read more

Wow this food is amazing!!! I was given a gift card for this place and decided to try it out for lunch. We arrived at 1pm and figured we still had a little over an hour to dine in since they do close at 2:30pm. I had never seen this place and let alone didn't even know that it was located right behind the Home Depot. It was pretty busy when we arrived but we were seated right away. Our server was attentive and very kind throughout our whole lunch. We were so indecisive on what we wanted to order since it all sounded so good. We ended up ordering: Mushroom burger with a chicken dumpling soup Bacon cheeseburger with fries Their monthly special of prime rib with mushroom sandwich and a potato soup Both soups were delicious! They were very hot and both were served with crackers on the side. Both burgers were great and full of flavor! The meat patties were both very thick and juicy! We did ask for them to both be well done but both our meats still had pink in them when we bit into them. The prime rib sandwich was so good and the meat was perfectly seasoned. We probably arrived around 9:45 and were seated immediately, but when we left there was a bit of a wait. I ordered a coffee and the California Benedict. There was a lot of food, and their potatoes are bomb! My boyfriend ordered one of the February specials which was a lobster and seafood omelette for $14. They did not skimp on the lobster! You'd never know how good this place is by looking at the outside, so thank goodness for word of mouth. It's a cute little place, reasonably priced and not super crowded, my sister and I went for lunch and both got sandwiches. I got the carnitas sandwich which has poblanos and onions on it, and it was absolutely delicious. It's served toasty and warm on sourdough bread, and the fries with it were perfectly crispy! My sister also got a side crepe as her dessert and that's another thing I loved. There's A TON of side options; way more than most other restaurants. I love that in a cafe like this. If you live in Arizona or are just visiting you need to come here! We were visiting and just needed something to pass the time before heading to the airport and this was a very good choice! They have such amazing and delicious food along with an amazing staff here. We had the Biscuits and gravy, Carnitas skillet, and the Carnitas Benedict. They were all so good I can't even begin to explain how good. The biscuits were super soft and fluffy and the gravy was delicious. The potatoes that came with it were also cooked perfectly! They weren't to crispy but also weren't soggy or undercooked. The carnitas meat was super juicy and flavorful on both dishes. Our server was amazing as well and was super nice and very knowledgeable on the menu choices. I will say the place needs a little sprucing up but the food makes up for the dated look inside! My favorite breakfast place in Arizona! The eggs Benedict and the Bacon Avocado Melt sandwich are to die for. When I'm feeling extra indulgent I'll get a blintz with the home made topping on the side. Yummmm. I also love that they have sweet potato fries, which is pretty rare for a breakfast place in AZ. For 2.59 you can get one of the largest pancakes (on the sides) I've ever seen. They make so many things home made and such amazing desserts. Working in AZ 12/10/2021 we stumbled upon this place that is almost hidden behind buildings in an industrial type area, glad we found it. Place must be a locals favorite and kept secret. Was about 11am and I was personally ready for breakfast again, as the rest of our group ordered lunch. I did the Meat Lover's Omelet and a Coke Zero, $12.99 and $2.99. Sindy was our server, she was awesome with rocket fast before finished drink refills. Highly suggest and would return. Pros- Sindy the server top notch and awesome!
