We are Cold Spring locals and went to brunch here today. First, the hostess was smacking gum. Second, we ordered the chicken and waffles and it arrived in 5 seconds - clearly had been cooked hours and hours before. Third, we told our server it was really bad and he said he told the kitchen (but bill was full price). We will never come back - from service to food it was a 1 star. The only thing this place has going for it is location- skip this all together! read more

It was a cold and busy day on main street. We called the restaurant at 11:45 to request a table for four. We stood out in the cold for an hour, regularly checking when our table would be ready. We watched as the crowd dwindled and still no table for us. After an hour they finally said "you're the next table of four." Why couldn't they manage our expectations? Finally got seated to one of three empty four-seaters. We asked to switch to a different table as one of our party had a chair blocking the doorway to the kitchen. Switched right away. The waiter came over and said there would be at least half an hour wait for cooked food, so we changed our orders to soup and salad except one in our party who ordered a salmon burger - which item came out first? The salmon burger. A waitress who was chewing gum brought our coffee and spilled it twice because she was distracted by talking with someone. The food was okay, not worth the wait and the hassle. We stopped into the Cozy Corner Cafe for a late breakfast. We were attracted by the positive reviews. Arriving at about 11:50 am, we were given lunch menus and told by our server we could no left never order breakfast, even though breakfast items were still coming out. Hungry, we ordered lunch sandwiches. They were average at best. However, people coming in long after us were ordering pancakes, omelettes and other items from the breakfast menu. When asked , our server just smiled and told me the manager told her they would continue to make breakfast if people wanted. She never told us, and didn't seem to think it mattered. Too bad. The service can be way better. The food was god awful, had 0 flavoring and did not feel fresh. Everything was bland, the waiters never smiled or were nice they had a RBF and did their job. In fact they were rude and kept talking in Spanish about other people (Im literally hispanic so I understood them) What they did get right is that it is cozy, if you find uneven tables that always rock whenever weight shifts cozy.. Took a day trip from NYC and stumbled upon this cafe. I didn't expect to have such a good experience. The waitress that served us was very kind and service was relatively fast. The pink toast was delicious and an unexpected combo. My partner said the steak and eggs were cooked to his liking and was a typical plate. Very calm and cozy ambiance. Came here after a long hike with a big group and the host accommodated us right away. It's really cozy inside and everyone was very welcoming. The food was really fresh and tasty. I like the way they cook the meat - it's seasoned right and tastes of good quality. Nice portions and reasonably priced for what it is. Went up on a sleepy Monday. No complaints regarding service. Food was a mixed bag. My husband ordered the rib-eye steak and enjoyed it. My mother in law ordered the fettucine with bolognese sauce and enjoyed it. I am vegan and was excited they had a few options, but also because I read such positive reviews of the place (should have taken more notice of the sub 4 rating on Yelp). Anyway, I ordered the tofu bowl. It had much to be desired. The rice was like Uncle Ben's, that easy cook microwaveable kind. My bowl came with 5 pieces of tofu in a dish advertised as a "tofu bowl!" I nicely told the server so she said she would get me more. Another server came out with a plate with 3 more pieces! LOL. I cut them in half so psychologically I felt like my meal was fuller. The dish was pretty much parboiled rice, garnished with 6 giant cucumbers, shredded cucumbers, pickled onions, 5 tofu cubes (unless you ask for more and you get +3), a healthy dousing of a spicy chili sauce - all for a $21. The best part about the dish was probably the onions as they tasted homemade. I love supporting small businesses as they usually have more character than chain spots, but I think I'd rather go to sweet greens based on what was served. . read more

Came on a Saturday for lunch and waited at least 30 minutes for food. Table next to us waited the same amount for a charcuterie board and salad. If you are super hungry, don't come here, because you will be waiting a long time. But if you have the time to wait, it's a lovely little place with great food. read more

When I first entered the cafe, I was very pleased by the ambiance. The owner greeted me upon my being seated, and his daughter was one of the waitresses. I had their soup, which was excellent (my friends keep eating it from my bowl), and the portabella sandwich wa simply delicious. The atmosphere was very friendly and open, and the food ws priced right. The owner is from Uraguay, and was both warm and extremely hospitable. I would give it a very high recommendation. Me and my wife went here for Sunday breakfast, based on the fact that we noticed the place was so packed full of people that the food must be great. We were wrong. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and an Americano coffee. The sandwich was described on Baguette, I received it on a hamburger bun. The coffee was okay, not much better than any generic hot coffee. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict which I thought sounded like a good idea - wrong again. The eggs were overcooked and served on a chewy wet english muffin. That plate had a side of old, stale lettuce from a package. We also went for the premium priced Tropical Dream smoothie. It was not sweet, like the pineapple was not ripe when blended, so it was very bland tasting as well. The service was very good, I did not complain to the server because he did a great job. Overall, if you want to go out for a nice breakfast on your trip to Cold Spring, do not go here! Gave two stars because of good service. read more
