Excellent food!!!! Wonderful service and quaint environment. The menu is plentiful. Best fried chicken and burgers!!

Came here on a Sunday morning and my group of 4 had to wait around 20 minutes. There is a small parking lot but the restaurant is along the side of Rte 6 so we parked and waited along the road. I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs and my husband ordered biscuits with sausage gravy and a side of corned beef hash well done. The sausage gravy was thick and the biscuits were soft. I also liked how the avocado toast came on thick multigrain toast. Would highly recommend getting corned beef hash well done if you like it crispy. We also loved the chocolate chip Nutella pancakes we shared. The service was quick and friendly, especially from our waitresses and our friends' toddler. read more

I came here recently with my parents on a Saturday morning around 8am. Since we were there so early, it wasn't very busy. We sat outside on the covered patio. I recall last time I was here (a year ago), it was uncomfortable to sit outside. Thankfully, the room was warmer this time. I ordered an egg white omelette. All the omelettes are served with hash browns and toast. The omelette was good and the hash browns were crispy. The service was better this time, too. read more

I've read the reviews and had to come for the holy cannoli pancake breakfast. Countryside kitchen was easy to find they were cars, parked everywhere and crowds outside the door. We waited 15 minutes to get seats at the bar. Everybody was very friendly, service was very quick, portions were enormous, and everything was delicious. This was a perfect yelp find in the middle of nowhere. read more

There was a short wait and the hostess kept my wife company while I went to the men's room Our waitress Ellie was very entertaining and checking in on us the perfect amount. Music is like old rock 'n' roll and light rock. My wife loved the Ava Benny, she said it was out of this world! The searving was so big, she could only eat half. I had the Eggs Benedict - I try to have that every place and see who had the best. It was really good. Those little square potatoes are so tasty and the corn beef hash wsa scrumptious! The staff was super friendly and very attentive! The place is always packed and now we know why- 2 key components to a successful restaurant- super food and great service. They have both and more. read more

This place is hoppin' and consistently fabulous! Came here on a Sunday morning just before 11AM. We were quoted a wait of 45 minutes -1 hour, but got the text that our table was ready in less than 15 minutes! Efficient and friendly staff and top notch food. Dishes that you keep thinking about long after you've left the table. Huge portions that reheat well. This place gets packed but it is with the wait. Coffee is hot and keeps flowing and love the upbeat tunes. The Oreo, brownie, cookie dough panckes, caramel apple cinnamon pancakes, s'mores waffles, and pig pen were all over the top, excellent. Highly recommend, can't say enough good things about this place! read more

I've been here when it was busy, out the door busy, and quiet. The staff have an unbelievable team work process. Everyone is your wait person. No waiting for your Order, coffee refills, bill. They all seem so happy and friendly. The food is excellent, well presented and enormous portions. No sense of being rushed even when there is a line waiting. I highly recommend Countryside Kitchen. read more

Everything is right about this place from food to service to ambience and music. It's a real treat!

Countryside Kitchen is aptly named and a true dining gem in the local neighborhood. I'm awfully pleased to be able to write this review. Right off the top, I can't say that I was responsible for choosing this restaurant for my friend's pre-apple-picking breakfast, but I was responsible for the research that laid the groundwork for the pick. As stated, Countryside Kitchen was perfectly named because if you have an opportunity to enjoy a meal at this restaurant, especially around this time of year, you will come to see how country-cozy this restaurant truly is. If seated in the back dining area, you will be treated to a banana of fall colors and cute autumn decorations. As you wait for your meal, take it all in. The food and the service were amazing but it was the size of the pancakes that took me by surprise. I had the banana walnut chocolate chip pancakes. OMG! Slap your momma good. Honestly, everyone was deliciously down-home tasting. The type of food you pack up and eat the next day which is exactly what I did; is simply amazing. Please do yourself a favor and give Countryside Kitchen a bite; your tummy will thank you. read more

Service was great, friendly staff. Tasty breakfast! Small location but fantastic place to eat.

Always a great meal here. I tend to bring my out of town guests here and it's always a hit. Service is always great and food comes out fast!

Delicious food. Good service, food took a little long but I would assume It's because everything is freshly made, it was worth the wait. The place is bigger than it looks, would a nice patio in the back read more

Worth Every Mile - A Breakfast Vibe You'll Never Forget! We drove an hour out to this gem of a breakfast/brunch spot, and let me tell you--it was so worth it. From the second we walked in, the energy was just vibes. The owners made us feel like family--literally wouldn't let us leave without making sure we were full, happy, and smiling. The service? Next level. Every detail was taken care of with so much warmth and intention. You could feel how much love goes into this place. The food? Unreal. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and like it was made just for us. House owners were beyond amazing--so welcoming, funny, and kind. This wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. Friendly service, good value. Nice diner for breakfast in Mahopac. Came for breakfast and ordered the special with 3 fluffy pancakes, bacon, sausage, and Sunny side up eggs. The portion was huge but I'm not sure why the plate has to be so small. The eggs, sausage, and bacon were layered in between the pancakes and the plate was so small that you could not separate them making it hard to eat. read more

Great pancakes. Huge variety. You could probably go every day for a month and have a different one for each day. Texture was perfect. Excellent jalapeno hash. Solid biscuits. Only the home fries were kind of meh. Place is small, so plan on a wait on busy days. But the staff is on top of it and really communicative. Worth an excursion if you're craving pancakes. read more

My son wanted to take me out for breakfast and omg!! he did so good by choosing this place. Food portions are huge and delicious. We were taking a pic in the front of the store when Rudy came out and offered to take the photo for us. She was very thoughtful and welcoming. We sat in the back contemplating nature which is my thing and it felt so relaxed and peaceful. Our waitress Emely was exceptional. I visited this place for breakfast with my family, and I noticed it's not very kid-friendly. The waiter kept emphasizing that children shouldn't touch anything. I understand there are holiday decorations that can intrigue kids and make them curious. However, the waiter's passive-aggressive attitude was a bit off-putting, especially since the kids were simply standing nearby, looking at the decorations. This situation can make parents feel uneasy, and maybe a sign indicating that it's not suitable for children under 10 could help make expectations clearer. read more

Hands Down The Best Diner Experience I've had in a long, Long time! waitstaff was on point, food tasted amazing - I went w/ Lee's Omelet, can't go wrong when it's named after the owner who's right there in front of you working the griddle himself! Good vibes, hilarious signs (picked by Lee's wife, I'm told) -- hope to be back soon! Btw, I basically never Yelp anything. This was so good I simply Had To. If you drive past the store during non breakfast hours it just looks like a cute little restaurant. I stopped by with a girlfriend of mine to catch up and wow the place was popping and I can se why. The location itself is rather small so not ideal for large groups but they do have both indoor and a small outdoor seating area. The menu has a great mix of both sweet and savory breakfast items with some favorites that have been recognized by national chefs. I personally got the holy cannoli and it certainly lives up to its name. This thing was the size of my arm. It was delicious but it was just a lot for one person. Everything that I saw come out looks delicious and would love to go back and try some others. The staff was very nice but were obviously very busy trying to keep the turnover fast. If you do go I would suggest slightly off hours to not feel as rushed. read more

I'm torn since I really wanted to like the place. Heck, we drove 45 mins out of our way for a nice brunch, which, according to Yelp, has 5 star reviews. However, I don't think this is a 5 star establishment. The positives are the service, which was friendly, and the portions which as everyone else has noted, are huge. The heat lamps and outside seating by the wilderness with the birds and wind chimes are also A+. Added bonus was that the black coffee also tasted good, not burnt or watery. The issues we had revolved around feeling like the food was overpriced and underwhelming in flavor, one note if you will. I picked a coconut, lemon, cherry, almond pancake (adventurous mood I was in), and they came with jarred cherries inside and on top, kind of old tasting coconut shavings and almonds. They were also sickly sweet, even though I specifically stated I wanted a more savory pancake and was pointed towards these because they didn't have strawberries. And although I told the server I was dissatisfied after eating 2 bites, no offer was made to comp or replace these $18 cakes. My hubby got the Big Breakfast with sausage, homefries, over easy eggs and rye toast, and they were ok, but for $20, those are NYC prices for fresher ingredients, not processed ones. We also had the Buffalo Sausage Biscuit, not spicy at all, and ok tasting. If I had to make a recommendation, I would suggest to be sure to get it with the eggs. Upon thinking about it some more, I don't think I would recommend this place unless you're with a more juvenile crowd (kids, teens 5 people+) that can enjoy it. Also, pease order accordingly since many items are sickly sweet. read more

Place totally sucks!!! Frozen sausage, frozen home fries. Sweaty cook over your food-just a gross shithole.

Ordered breakfast from here because it had high ratings and was excited to have it. Unfortunately their food is really bad. Do not go here. Tasteless and feels like it's right out of the microwave or frozen not worth it. Terrible terrible waste of money read more

Spectacular!! It is very important when you walk in to a place, a smile welcomes you! Thats all it takes, and that is hospitality! Great staff, great food. This place is not huge, just enough. It has a deck in the back so you can sit and eat! Its a family place. I ordered Dirty Benny for breakfast, biscuits topped with corned beef hash, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Some potatoes on the side. Phenomenal! My coffee was refilled all the time, i didn't need to ask to get more coffee. Thank you! Want a unique breakfast or brunch experience? If so, plan a trip out to Countryside Kitchen!! The kitchen staff at Countryside cooks up some pretty tasty breakfast fare... and their menu features a lot of variety. So you're sure to find something to enjoy! To set the record straight, I'm not the biggest sweet breakfast person--I prefer savory. Not a problem at Countryside--they pretty much have it all. If you like sweet breakfast foods, they feature a large selection of speciality pancakes, which seem to be all the rage with patrons. Almost every table around us had a huge stack of luscious and sweet pancakes--but each looked slightly different. I spied blueberries, bananas, cinnamon, etc. etc. If you want more deets on those, look at some of their amazing speciality pancake pictures on Yelp! Nom! Since I'm a savory guy, I passed on the pancakes and instead tried a tasty omelet--the Sausage, Mushroom, Hot Pepper, Onion & Cheddar one--and the Jacked Jalapeño Hash (essentially corned beef hash but with jalapeños mixed in). Both were super yummy and highly recommended. Also notable at Countryside was the friendly staff. I forget our server's name, but she and another server she was training were both fun and made the experience memorable. Oh, and I can't close this review without giving a shout out to the awesome back porch at Countryside. Dining on the porch was just what we needed for covid social distancing!! read more

The service is great, fast everyone is very sweet. The food was so delicious fresh and everything is affordable. We got here around 9am on a Saturday morning, it was only two however there was extra seating outside it looked like. The parking situation wasn't so bad either, there were more than enough spots left even though it looked pretty busy. The staff opened the door for us- and immediately sat us down. I was very impressed with the service & food. I will absolutely be back soon! read more

I just want to say, thank you for never letting me down! I've never ever had a bad experience and I'm always stuffed after having a meal here. Everything is amazing. EVERYTHING! They make it so easy for someone who needs to eat gluten free to never miss out. Gosh my mouth is watering just thinking about all of the delicious food they offer. I decided to try something new and ordered the breakfast quesadillas. I wasn't starving but wanted something tasty and satisfying, I figured quesadillas would likely be on the smaller side like I've had at other locations. Wow!! I was wrong. They were massive. Huge, delicious, mouthwatering quesadillas to start of my morning, So good! You also get sides of guac, sour cream and salsa with the quesadillas. They were hearty and they were definitely messy. I ended up eating every single bite. I couldn't even help it. I couldn't let it get wasted. I've never had a quesadilla like this before. It exceeded all of my expectations. I'm already planning my next visit because it's always a great choice! Oh and you can pay ahead of time over the phone so that you limit your time interacting with anyone when picking up the order. read more

Pretty good! Adorable, rustic, cabin-feel at this quaint spot known for their pancakes and Holy Cannoli dish. I like my homemade pancakes more (these are a little too vanilla tasting), but their blueberry pancakes with the all-natural maple syrup (upgrade for $2) were the best part, while the pancake tower stacked with bacon, sausage, and egg was a good savory-sweet combo. Might not come back but glad to have tried this place. read more

Cool atmosphere. Great service. Food was okay wish saw it the savory items were seasoned more. Sweet items were very decadent

Food was fabulous. Service was polite, friendly, and welcoming. Yes, some of the things are sweet however, if you order those things they clearly sound sweet so I can't see anyone giving this place a bad review for that. We also changed the birthday cake pancake to have only the frosting on the top pancake and not on both pancakes. Inside is updated and bathrooms are clean even though they see a lot of customers. Wait for Food was nonexistent. If you're in the area I 100% recommend stopping by. read more
