I've read the reviews and had to come for the holy cannoli pancake breakfast. Countryside kitchen was easy to find they were cars, parked everywhere and crowds outside the door. We waited 15 minutes to get seats at the bar. Everybody was very friendly, service was very quick, portions were enormous, and everything was delicious. This was a perfect yelp find in the middle of nowhere.

There was a short wait and the hostess kept my wife company while I went to the men's room Our waitress Ellie was very entertaining and checking in on us the perfect amount. Music is like old rock 'n' roll and light rock. My wife loved the Ava Benny, she said it was out of this world! The searving was so big, she could only eat half. I had the Eggs Benedict - I try to have that every place and see who had the best. It was really good. Those little square potatoes are so tasty and the corn beef hash wsa scrumptious! The staff was super friendly and very attentive! The place is always packed and now we know why- 2 key components to a successful restaurant- super food and great service. They have both and more.

Wife had a birthday breakfast here today and she can't stop bragging how great this place is. Best ingredients prepared perfectly. Cute quaint little roadside place with nice back yard.

Countryside Kitchen is aptly named and a true dining gem in the local neighborhood. I'm awfully pleased to be able to write this review. Right off the top, I can't say that I was responsible for choosing this restaurant for my friend's pre-apple-picking breakfast, but I was responsible for the research that laid the groundwork for the pick. As stated, Countryside Kitchen was perfectly named because if you have an opportunity to enjoy a meal at this restaurant, especially around this time of year, you will come to see how country-cozy this restaurant truly is. If seated in the back dining area, you will be treated to a banana of fall colors and cute autumn decorations. As you wait for your meal, take it all in. The food and the service were amazing but it was the size of the pancakes that took me by surprise. I had the banana walnut chocolate chip pancakes. OMG! Slap your momma good. Honestly, everyone was deliciously down-home tasting. The type of food you pack up and eat the next day which is exactly what I did; is simply amazing. Please do yourself a favor and give Countryside Kitchen a bite; your tummy will thank you.

Delicious food. Good service, food took a little long but I would assume It's because everything is freshly made, it was worth the wait. The place is bigger than it looks, would a nice patio in the back

Worth Every Mile - A Breakfast Vibe You'll Never Forget! We drove an hour out to this gem of a breakfast/brunch spot, and let me tell you--it was so worth it. From the second we walked in, the energy was just vibes. The owners made us feel like family--literally wouldn't let us leave without making sure we were full, happy, and smiling. The service? Next level. Every detail was taken care of with so much warmth and intention. You could feel how much love goes into this place. The food? Unreal. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and like it was made just for us. House owners were beyond amazing--so welcoming, funny, and kind. This wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. If you're thinking about going, stop thinking and GO. This place is a whole mood.

Was very good but place was loud at least for me and kinda small. But still amazing food and worth going to for sure! Will come back again for sure!

Friendly service, good value. Nice diner for breakfast in Mahopac. Came for breakfast and ordered the special with 3 fluffy pancakes, bacon, sausage, and Sunny side up eggs. The portion was huge but I'm not sure why the plate has to be so small. The eggs, sausage, and bacon were layered in between the pancakes and the plate was so small that you could not separate them making it hard to eat.

Amazing pancake.. banana/pecan

Found Common Grounds on Yelp and knew it was my kind of place! The shop is modern, clean, and bright. The staff was friendly and professional. They roast their own beans. It was literally the only place I could find on short notice with reservation slots available, which maybe should have been a sign (and certainly a reminder to me to be much more proactive about this sort of thing in the future). This was sort of a meet in the middle for us; she's in Redding, CT, and I'm in North Jersey. Common Grounds is located at the end of a strip mall, though arguably a higher-end one. The parking lot was VERY busy and while spots were relatively easy to find, I had to settle for one further away close to the bowling alley next door. All good though in that regard. The first hint that this was going to go downhill happened almost immediately. Despite having made the reservation for 11, our designated table wasn't available for seating because the prior party was "lingering." There wasn't a time limit on the dining parties so it seemed like Common Grounds just made assumptions on when people would leave, which is probably not an exact science on the best of days, and certainly not on a day where you might have a family reunion element. We were offered a large high-top table to sit at instead, which my mother isn't comfortable with, and after a few minutes of sitting there, were instructed to take a "normal" table by the window. I will give props for the hostess reading the room in that regard and doing what she could to give us an optimal seating situation - the wait and miscalculation wasn't her fault. She was also very nice to my mother, which for sure counts for something. It took probably 15 minutes for our waitress to come by and ask for drink/food orders, which isn't great. I'd decided on the Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes from the Specials menu, only to be told by the waitress that they were no longer available. I then had to quickly pivot to the French Toast from the regular menu, but lack of availability is something that should have been mentioned when we received the menus, not while we're ordering. And it wasn't even noon - a little concerning. I don't know if it was just a bad day behind the scenes, but it took over 45 minutes to get two pretty simple brunch entrees to us, and almost as much time to get our beverages. That would at least be understandable if the place was packed and everyone was busy, but that wasn't the case - a lot of tables emptied up within 20 minutes of our arrival, and in a pretty troubling optic, most of the front-end waitstaff was literally just standing around by the coffee station not doing anything. That's bad management, and could have helped alleviate whatever was happening in the kitchen. You have five minutes to kill? Okay, stop by your tables and apologize for the delay. Help bus and turn over the recently vacated tables. Maybe refill my water glass, which was empty for most of my meal. There's just no excuse for that. And it's a shame because my Cardamon Rose Latte was excellent, and the French Toast was very good as well. French Toast isn't one of my go-to's, but when I have it I prefer it to be softer and not as cumbersome, and this fit the bill. But because the wait time and overall service was mediocre at best, I didn't even want to go near a dessert menu or consider having a second latte - that probably would have tacked on another hour. So by virtue of not being attentive and efficient, Common Grounds left money on the table. A real shame; and frankly, surprising to me given that this has to be a very notable day on the calendar for brunch places. I'd ensure everything was well-oiled and ready to go, and it's clear it just wasn't. I overheard quite a few people outside singing the praises of this place, and I saw enough to probably understand why. But we weren't the beneficiary of most of those qualities.

TBH I was hesitant to trying a new spot as all the other competition has been a disappointment…read more This is my FIRST real ramen other than .99 package To my surprise, this was light, delightful, and tasty. We felt as if we were guests inside the owners kitchen. She, wish I knew her name, came out often to the tables to personally and personably ask how our visit was. This is a rarity among most establishments these days. This is what bought up the rankings to five stars tonight. Needless to say, we'll be back;) TIP: cash payments are without taxes ;) TIP: small private street leveled entrance TIP: delivery available I believe thru a 3rd party. My partner and I were seated promptly, and were attended well by our waitress. We went on a very cold evening and both decided to order the spicy malaysian miso ramen along with the peking duck buns to warm ourselves up. Our food came about 15 minutes after ordering, starting with the Peking duck buns which were flavorful and had nice tender meat, though rather small for the price. Our ramen came shortly after-- we loved the coconutty, umami slightly spicy broth which was reminiscent of laksa (I suspect that they Americanized this dish and named it ramen so the Putnam populace would want to try it). The noodles were nicely cooked and not too soft, and the chashu meat went nicely with the dish. Though we enjoyed our meal, for $18 a bowl and charging NYC prices, you are not getting NYC quality or portions. The egg was hard boiled and overdone, and not jammy like a ramen egg should be. The broth was very enjoyable (I personally love laksa and coconut based broths) but could have been better emulsified. I also feel as though the bowl of ramen could have been a little larger given the price point. Another small qualm I have is though our waitress was lovely, she didn't seem to be very familiar with the menu, or with different types of asian food. I know this is a fusion restaurant in Mahopac, but to hear someone say that making the Tonkatsu spicy would basically just be the same as ordering the spicy malaysian miso ramen felt like either the staff isn't familiar with the basic differences between their dishes, or that what is being served is not accurate to the dish it is named after (as Tonkatsu is NOT miso based, nor does it have coconut milk). I would love to see in the future the chef sticking to their cultural cooking without fusion, as Mahopac desperately needs more authentic asian cooking. I really genuinely did have a nice dinner here, and would love to see how this restaurant evolves and succeeds in this space.

This place serves up organic, traditional, vegan (but also vegetarian and can basically turn almost anything into gluten free upon request). You want it, just say it. They can mix and match and adapt to your dietary needs which is so awesome especially when sitting down with a group of dietary alternative friends. It makes it easy and anyone can order what they want without feeling bad (physically and emotionally haha). Where do I even BEGIN with the food, the true star of the show. Came here with a dear friend that wanted to treat us to lunch and I was convinced I wanted to go the bowl route but when I saw chicken and waffles with fried oyster (I think) mushrooms instead of chicken, I was SOLD. This is such a hard one to ever be able to order since the only substitution they'll ever give you is fruit, or simply just a Belgian waffle. Not at Brooklyn Organic Kitchen. You order, they DELIVER. And my deliver I mean SLAY. Wow wow wow. Please look at my mushroom chicken and waffles, a work of art drizzled in this hot agave syrup with a kick. Just a touch. I told you the portions were super Mario size and just take a look at it, double "chicken" double waffle. You can order and share because the sizing here is huge. Yes, the prices are a little bit more elevated but you're also paying to eat organic food, with (almost) any dietary restriction possible. I also tried the vegan Philly cheese steak and my brain isn't doing well at comprehending HOW that mushrooms cut looked like meat. My brain is unwell at how they got it just RIGHT. From the flavors, to the portions to the presentation BOK is an incredible gem that I'm so glad we got to discover thanks to our friend. We left full, satisfied and with to go boxes but my belly was happy the next day getting to enjoy waffles (with fruit this time) right from home. It probably won't be possible for you to leave room for dessert since they kind of don't even let you leave with any room for even breathing after enjoying delicious homemade food BUT, if you so were inclined to or even managed to masterfully leave room for dessert (super Mario size), they do have muffins, cinnamon rolls, cake, cookies, cupcakes - all kinds of things. Can't wait to give those a try next time. We will try to think ahead and share so we can actually leave room for dessert **challenge accepted**.
