I've read the reviews and had to come for the holy cannoli pancake breakfast. Countryside kitchen was easy to find they were cars, parked everywhere and crowds outside the door. We waited 15 minutes to get seats at the bar. Everybody was very friendly, service was very quick, portions were enormous, and everything was delicious. This was a perfect yelp find in the middle of nowhere.

There was a short wait and the hostess kept my wife company while I went to the men's room Our waitress Ellie was very entertaining and checking in on us the perfect amount. Music is like old rock 'n' roll and light rock. My wife loved the Ava Benny, she said it was out of this world! The searving was so big, she could only eat half. I had the Eggs Benedict - I try to have that every place and see who had the best. It was really good. Those little square potatoes are so tasty and the corn beef hash wsa scrumptious! The staff was super friendly and very attentive! The place is always packed and now we know why- 2 key components to a successful restaurant- super food and great service. They have both and more.

Wife had a birthday breakfast here today and she can't stop bragging how great this place is. Best ingredients prepared perfectly. Cute quaint little roadside place with nice back yard.

Countryside Kitchen is aptly named and a true dining gem in the local neighborhood. I'm awfully pleased to be able to write this review. Right off the top, I can't say that I was responsible for choosing this restaurant for my friend's pre-apple-picking breakfast, but I was responsible for the research that laid the groundwork for the pick. As stated, Countryside Kitchen was perfectly named because if you have an opportunity to enjoy a meal at this restaurant, especially around this time of year, you will come to see how country-cozy this restaurant truly is. If seated in the back dining area, you will be treated to a banana of fall colors and cute autumn decorations. As you wait for your meal, take it all in. The food and the service were amazing but it was the size of the pancakes that took me by surprise. I had the banana walnut chocolate chip pancakes. OMG! Slap your momma good. Honestly, everyone was deliciously down-home tasting. The type of food you pack up and eat the next day which is exactly what I did; is simply amazing. Please do yourself a favor and give Countryside Kitchen a bite; your tummy will thank you.

Delicious food. Good service, food took a little long but I would assume It's because everything is freshly made, it was worth the wait. The place is bigger than it looks, would a nice patio in the back

Worth Every Mile - A Breakfast Vibe You'll Never Forget! We drove an hour out to this gem of a breakfast/brunch spot, and let me tell you--it was so worth it. From the second we walked in, the energy was just vibes. The owners made us feel like family--literally wouldn't let us leave without making sure we were full, happy, and smiling. The service? Next level. Every detail was taken care of with so much warmth and intention. You could feel how much love goes into this place. The food? Unreal. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and like it was made just for us. House owners were beyond amazing--so welcoming, funny, and kind. This wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. If you're thinking about going, stop thinking and GO. This place is a whole mood.

Was very good but place was loud at least for me and kinda small. But still amazing food and worth going to for sure! Will come back again for sure!

Friendly service, good value. Nice diner for breakfast in Mahopac. Came for breakfast and ordered the special with 3 fluffy pancakes, bacon, sausage, and Sunny side up eggs. The portion was huge but I'm not sure why the plate has to be so small. The eggs, sausage, and bacon were layered in between the pancakes and the plate was so small that you could not separate them making it hard to eat.

    Amazing pancake.. banana/pecan

Food comes out hot, portions are serious, and nobody leaves hungry or emotionally unsettled, which after a long week is a miracle. This is real comfort food. The kind where you lean back, loosen the belt, and say, "Alright... that hit." Service is solid, no rush, no attitude. They let you eat like a human being. Five stars. Our service throughout the meal was excellent with both our server and the manager (or owner?) checking in consistently. I really liked the decor and music as well. The decor is minimalistic, but I really liked how clean everything felt. I asked about the music -- it was 80s and 90s rock like Journey and Elton John and it matched our tastes perfectly for the particular moment in time we were there. They said they use pandora and the music varies from night to night, but we were fans. The food is where things weren't quite up to 5 stars, which is why the rating. We started with an autumn (squash) soup and wedge salad. The soup was good or maybe even a little better than good, but not great. For me, the salad was the same way. It comes with candied bacon and that just doesn't fit the profile of bleu cheese and iceberg. I ended up eating the salad without the bacon and then having the bacon at the end as an "opening dessert." The salad was super fresh and the dressing was well done. And the bacon alone was delicious--just not great together for my palate. We went with a couple handmade pasta dishes as our mains and they were both good. Again, not quite great. I liked mine better than my wife's. That is sis's new favorite was well named to my mind. It was spicy, but not overly so and the tomato and broccoli added depth to the dish that was missing from my wife's pasta. I would 100% come back. If we do, I think we'd split a pasta and a main. Some of the fish dishes we saw go by looked fantastic. The one negative to me was an occasional whiff of marijuana. I'm totally fine with someone taking a break to calm themselves if that's what they need. I just don't want to smell that while I'm eating, especially in a restaurant that is otherwise very very nice.

The decor is cute..I miss the dim light and warm / dark woods and colors that you expect in an Irish pub. I met the owner on the first visit and she is very nice and I wish her great luck..but the kids who work there have very little passion or personality unfortunately. I understand shrimp with the shells and heads on, maybe off putting to some, however, I love it! In my culture shrimp with the head on is a delicacy, and I don't mind peeling it myself. The only food with Chinese seasoning was the Roast beef you cut yourself. You had part raw part med rare or well done. I knew it was going to be horrible because it was lime cutting a shoe to get a piece. I was right. Stuffed mushrooms 1/2 were sour 1/3 were buttery and weird. ShuMai awful. Instantly tasted rancid. I left the phone in my car if you saw the food you would understand that this place will not remain open very long. The one and only item I would ever go back here for is the Hot and Sour soup. Probably the best within 20 miles. Very authentic. Restaurant is very big very clean. Staff was very odd and unfriendly. But I'm used to that. I loved the front as it's a little marketplace with souvenirs. (0/10) Dear fellow Americans Chinese food is not sweet!!! Kimchi is not Chinese and oysters are not dry and dark ( scary)

Then they sit us by a fireplace... facing the lake. I said out loud, "Are you serious right now?" Because that's not a restaurant--that's a lifestyle flex. This place had me feeling like I was back in Manhattan, living the life I was supposed to live. Sophisticated. Refined. Dangerous levels of happiness. All for about an hour and a half... before I went home to change diapers and clean cat hairballs like a regular civilian. I mean every single day these damn cats throw up somewhere in this house! I hear they got jammed up over some tax nonsense and let me just say this clearly: taxation is theft. If we gotta throw some symbolic tea into the lake in solidarity, I'll bring the boxes. Leave this place alone. It's a diamond in this town. Lake House is elegant without being stiff, romantic without being weird, and just fancy enough to remind you who you used to be before bedtime routines ruined everything. Five stars.
