    Lemon blueberry pancakes

The place is super cute definitely has a lot of Instagram worthy pictures. The drinks seem great but we didnt get drinks seems like the drinks are the strong suit. The food seemed great but didnt pack a lot of flavor. Hardly knew there was lemon or blueberry in my lemon and blueberry pancakes if it wasn't the stuff on top.

Absolutely love the food...the food is so fresh & they're creative with their speciality drinks. The ambiance is just perfect. Highly recommend brunch spot.

Went there on a weekend and as expected they are packed! When we went in we were able to sit down immediately. Took awhile to get us our drinks and took 30-45 mins to take our order. We were starving!! Food was good but service could have improved. Looks like they inly had 3 servers on a very busy Sunday.

    Biscoff bite

I love this place so much! I ordered the Bronx Tale and it was the juiciest most amazing chicken that I ever had. I loved the biscoff and kinder bites! They were so tasty and sweet. The family that owns this bunch house is the kindest and most welcoming.

Had a nice brunch here with girlfriends. It was absolutely freezing inside though... I'm not sure what was going on with the heat... I ordered the BH BIBIMBAP BOWL: Korean dish with a breakfast twist. Fried egg, avocado, grilled chicken, kimchi and breakfast peppers served over rice. I opted for no chicken. It was very tasty! Service was good. We stayed for a while after our food was done to talk and nobody seemed to mind.

Pecan pancakes, lemon blueberry pancakes and kid's pancakes. I also tried the Dubai latte

Great food! A bit crowded and parking lot was also a bit small. The water tasted a bit salty for some reasons. Our food took a bit longer to serve than expected. I wouldn't mind trying it again because the food was really delicious, except for the water.

First time here. We came for Saturday morning breakfast. We were greeted promptly and got a nice corner table. A very open dining layout with good visibility and nice decoration to the restaurant. A broad menu selection for both breakfast and lunch. In our party, we had one diner choose an avocado toast breakfast with a poached egg. Beautiful presentation and I hear very tasty and well prepared. Balsamic drizzle was selected to be served on the side, which was also well received. Another diner had the Pecan pancakes. 3 large fluffy pancakes. There could/should have been a bit more pecan in the batter. They also were just a tad doughy. Our third diner had the classic big breakfast of eggs, meat, potatoes. The bacon needed a little more cooking time and the toast selection for this diner was underwhelming in texture. My meat lovers omelette was excellent. Nice combination of meats, onions, peppers and nicely prepared. A side of sourdough toast was a good choice in my case. The room gets noisy quickly with the hard wall and ceiling allowing sound to bounce even when only at 20% capacity. Service was very good. Parking was easy. Overall a very nice alternative to choose but some additional attention to preparation would help for a stronger review. Glad to try again.

the breakfast of champions is $19 and doesn't feel like it's of champions

food is blah and bland, the sausage was the worst; it tasted like absolutely nothing, the food is expensive for no good reason, the service is bleh, the waitresses kinda just shoved food in front of our faces not being too careful about hitting us with plates, they got our orders wrong so we had to swap plates, the decor of the place is hideous, it tries way too hard to be "trendy" aka neon signs with random quotes, chandeliers, a flower wall to attempt to hide the bathroom, it's decorated like someone's sweet 16. not fun, not good, wouldn't recommend.

Found Common Grounds on Yelp and knew it was my kind of place! The shop is modern, clean, and bright. The staff was friendly and professional. They roast their own beans. It was literally the only place I could find on short notice with reservation slots available, which maybe should have been a sign (and certainly a reminder to me to be much more proactive about this sort of thing in the future). This was sort of a meet in the middle for us; she's in Redding, CT, and I'm in North Jersey. Common Grounds is located at the end of a strip mall, though arguably a higher-end one. The parking lot was VERY busy and while spots were relatively easy to find, I had to settle for one further away close to the bowling alley next door. All good though in that regard. The first hint that this was going to go downhill happened almost immediately. Despite having made the reservation for 11, our designated table wasn't available for seating because the prior party was "lingering." There wasn't a time limit on the dining parties so it seemed like Common Grounds just made assumptions on when people would leave, which is probably not an exact science on the best of days, and certainly not on a day where you might have a family reunion element. We were offered a large high-top table to sit at instead, which my mother isn't comfortable with, and after a few minutes of sitting there, were instructed to take a "normal" table by the window. I will give props for the hostess reading the room in that regard and doing what she could to give us an optimal seating situation - the wait and miscalculation wasn't her fault. She was also very nice to my mother, which for sure counts for something. It took probably 15 minutes for our waitress to come by and ask for drink/food orders, which isn't great. I'd decided on the Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes from the Specials menu, only to be told by the waitress that they were no longer available. I then had to quickly pivot to the French Toast from the regular menu, but lack of availability is something that should have been mentioned when we received the menus, not while we're ordering. And it wasn't even noon - a little concerning. I don't know if it was just a bad day behind the scenes, but it took over 45 minutes to get two pretty simple brunch entrees to us, and almost as much time to get our beverages. That would at least be understandable if the place was packed and everyone was busy, but that wasn't the case - a lot of tables emptied up within 20 minutes of our arrival, and in a pretty troubling optic, most of the front-end waitstaff was literally just standing around by the coffee station not doing anything. That's bad management, and could have helped alleviate whatever was happening in the kitchen. You have five minutes to kill? Okay, stop by your tables and apologize for the delay. Help bus and turn over the recently vacated tables. Maybe refill my water glass, which was empty for most of my meal. There's just no excuse for that. And it's a shame because my Cardamon Rose Latte was excellent, and the French Toast was very good as well. French Toast isn't one of my go-to's, but when I have it I prefer it to be softer and not as cumbersome, and this fit the bill. But because the wait time and overall service was mediocre at best, I didn't even want to go near a dessert menu or consider having a second latte - that probably would have tacked on another hour. So by virtue of not being attentive and efficient, Common Grounds left money on the table. A real shame; and frankly, surprising to me given that this has to be a very notable day on the calendar for brunch places. I'd ensure everything was well-oiled and ready to go, and it's clear it just wasn't. I overheard quite a few people outside singing the praises of this place, and I saw enough to probably understand why. But we weren't the beneficiary of most of those qualities.

This place serves up organic, traditional, vegan (but also vegetarian and can basically turn almost anything into gluten free upon request). You want it, just say it. They can mix and match and adapt to your dietary needs which is so awesome especially when sitting down with a group of dietary alternative friends. It makes it easy and anyone can order what they want without feeling bad (physically and emotionally haha). Where do I even BEGIN with the food, the true star of the show. Came here with a dear friend that wanted to treat us to lunch and I was convinced I wanted to go the bowl route but when I saw chicken and waffles with fried oyster (I think) mushrooms instead of chicken, I was SOLD. This is such a hard one to ever be able to order since the only substitution they'll ever give you is fruit, or simply just a Belgian waffle. Not at Brooklyn Organic Kitchen. You order, they DELIVER. And my deliver I mean SLAY. Wow wow wow. Please look at my mushroom chicken and waffles, a work of art drizzled in this hot agave syrup with a kick. Just a touch. I told you the portions were super Mario size and just take a look at it, double "chicken" double waffle. You can order and share because the sizing here is huge. Yes, the prices are a little bit more elevated but you're also paying to eat organic food, with (almost) any dietary restriction possible. I also tried the vegan Philly cheese steak and my brain isn't doing well at comprehending HOW that mushrooms cut looked like meat. My brain is unwell at how they got it just RIGHT. From the flavors, to the portions to the presentation BOK is an incredible gem that I'm so glad we got to discover thanks to our friend. We left full, satisfied and with to go boxes but my belly was happy the next day getting to enjoy waffles (with fruit this time) right from home. It probably won't be possible for you to leave room for dessert since they kind of don't even let you leave with any room for even breathing after enjoying delicious homemade food BUT, if you so were inclined to or even managed to masterfully leave room for dessert (super Mario size), they do have muffins, cinnamon rolls, cake, cookies, cupcakes - all kinds of things. Can't wait to give those a try next time. We will try to think ahead and share so we can actually leave room for dessert **challenge accepted**.

Then they sit us by a fireplace... facing the lake. I said out loud, "Are you serious right now?" Because that's not a restaurant--that's a lifestyle flex. This place had me feeling like I was back in Manhattan, living the life I was supposed to live. Sophisticated. Refined. Dangerous levels of happiness. All for about an hour and a half... before I went home to change diapers and clean cat hairballs like a regular civilian. I mean every single day these damn cats throw up somewhere in this house! I hear they got jammed up over some tax nonsense and let me just say this clearly: taxation is theft. If we gotta throw some symbolic tea into the lake in solidarity, I'll bring the boxes. Leave this place alone. It's a diamond in this town. Lake House is elegant without being stiff, romantic without being weird, and just fancy enough to remind you who you used to be before bedtime routines ruined everything. Five stars. We were told when we ordered that the food would be slightly delayed by the kitchen. However, an hour later when we walked out, we had still only been served a few pieces of bread and our tap water. Our waiter stopped by only once during that hour wait to say that our appetizer would be out soon. He didn't refill our glasses, bring additional bread, or explain the delay. Twenty minutes later we were still waiting for our appetizer so we left. Most of the patrons seemed to be waiting for their food as well. The staff should be better trained to handle all situations including delays. This place is going downhill fast.
