I see a lot of mixed opinions here... not surprising. I was there yesterday for a roundtable by invitation from our U.S. Congressman because of my expertise in my field; the meeting featured a prominent member of the Trump cabinet. We were told to have anything we wanted but I ended up having nothing because the conversation was so stimulating so I can't comment on the cuisine, though others said the lemon chicken soup was wonderful. I chose to rate because Maria and the staff were absolutely lovely, so gracious and accommodating, and that deserves recognition. The place is spacious and no tables are on top of each other; we were then moved to a private room on the side. At some point I would go there for breakfast or lunch simply because the people were so kind. Give it a try. read more

I came here on a Saturday morning, looking for traditional diner food. The service here has been quick. This place is very clean and the food is decent. While it's a little bit higher priced than the usual diner, it's a decent place to stop for breakfast. read more

Not good. I'm not sure how this place is still in business. The prices are high, portions terrible, and the food you do end up with is flavorless trash. Gluey, undercooked, not fresh. Had the soup and half sandwich special. Both the soup and sandwich were delicious. Soup was home made and the Ruben sandwich was fresh.

The food was just meh. We ordered several entrees and appetizers and everything was just okay. The waitress was friendly. The floor felt very greasy and sticky at the same time. The bathroom was also very dirty, soap bottle was empty. They had a huge roll of commercial paper towel but it was sitting on the sink counter instead of in its holder. Was kind of hesitant to stop by but this place was so tasty!! They had lots of vegetarian friendly options, and I had the eggplant panko sandwich and it blew me out of the water for how yummy it was! I didn't know Maria was the owner of the diner bc she was so playful with our children. She definitely takes pride in her place as it is kept very clean and she made my family and I feel right at home. With two very active kids (ages 1 and 2.5) it's tough to go out to eat. The food is good, especially the Gyros, diet burger plate and breakfast foods. Maria the owner is gracious to all of her customers and accommodating to your dietary needs. Also, as in most restaurants, they do get busy at times. So be patient and enjoy the experience! read more

Not a good experience. Food was bland and under-seasoned. Waitress seemed very inexperienced. I asked what the best thing on the menu was and she responded with "well the menu is so big" and came in to take a look at it like she had no idea what was in there. Waitress forgot to bring my water. The bread they brought to the table was half fresh, half stale and basically inedible. My children shared the kids meat loaf and it tasted like chef microwave was hard at work in the kitchen. My burger was missing cheese, chipotle mayo, jalapenos, and caramelized onions. My wife and I both ordered side salads with our burgers but were brought fries. Had to remind the waitress. She didn't ask how we wanted our burgers cooked. Didn't ask what kind of dressing we wanted after we reminded her about the salads. I found something hard and sharp in my food, not sure what it was because I swallowed it by accident. They also forgot to give us a pickle and coleslaw which the menu lists. Same thing happened to the ladies at the table behind us. Decor is fine. Place appears clean. Food is over priced. Our waitress brought the bill over and said she was only going to charge me $11 for my cheeseburger order that was completely wrong. I told her no and she went to talk to her boss and removed it from the bill. I don't think I'll ever go back here, definitely not for dinner. read more

Wonderful service! So friendly, welcoming, and fast. As for the food, we'd probably give it a 3.5 so I rounded up to 4 due to the kindness and sincerity of the staff. Definitely the type of people whose business you'd want to support! My brother and I loved our milkshakes and our burgers. They were cooked perfectly and not greasy at all, but super tasty. The fries and onion rings were good too! So was the cole slaw. The one thing we weren't impressed with was the mac and cheese. We think it might be boxed (Kraft maybe?) and would not have ordered that if we knew. Besides that, it was a great meal! read more

Here is my response to this lady: You don't have the ability to choose who can or who can not view this review. You just actually reiterated my review. You obviously do not care about the customers. You care about the register. I don't sit behind a computer. Great response by an owners failed attempt at dissing a customer. Not that you care I have an average of 250 people that ask me for a recommendation. I do not wish you good luck as I actually did when I left your establishment that day. I met a friend here for dinner and we both loved it. The owner couldn't have been any nicer. I had the stuffed flounder. It was stuffed with spinach and feta. Very tasty flounder, lightly seasoned. It came with home made mashed potatoes. I had the brocolli soup too. The soup was perfect and it was served with homemade WARM bread. My friend had the shrimp santorini. She said it was perfect. She had the chicken and rice soup. YUM. This restaurant has plenty of tables and a large group room for parties. The service was perfect. We both can't wait to come back. Tonight we had not our last sit down meal corned beef and cabbage for a while at the Hill Boulevard Diner. With the State mandate for all restaurants to close sit down dining and only have take out, puts a large impact to our favorite Diner. We will continue to order our breakfast, Lunch or dinners from there. We will continue to have their great food we will miss the welcome atmosphere. This too will pass as time goes on and will once again sit down in the Diner to eat. Hopefully sooner than later. If you have eaten there, continue to eat the great food by ordering out. I have recently been to the Hill Blvd diner, and always greeted by the owner Maria. she is warm and welcoming. we had a few amazing meals there and the food was fresh and delish. I have known Maria when she had her diner in Somers but when she came to this new locations her chef did not follow and she hired a new chef and he was horrible and convinced her he was doing right. it impacted her and after some time she hired a new chef and i am here to say the food is above awesome. they make there own cole slaw i know this bc i ordered it to sub my fries and said he did not make a fresh batch yet and subbed it with a salad. well i had the cole slaw and omg best i have ever tasted. i also had the porkchops and they were delish. so if you all had came when it first opened and were not crazy about the food, then i strongly recommend giving them a second chance you will not be disappointed. i wish her much success!!! read more

Walking into this so-called diner gave the four of us a sense of foreboding because the total lack of any ambiance at all. Two giant empty stores joined with largely blank walls made us wonder if this place had opened before the furnishings had arrived. The chairs and booth benches were what the restaurant business calls "Turn-Over Seating." That means they are so thin and hard that it discourages lingering through the meal because of the pain from the super thin padding, depriving the management of the needed "turnover" which is when you can get more income per table if people eat and get out so the table can generate more income. Generally the food was uninspiring with overcooked salmon and, the highlight of the evening, a bowl of Matzoh Ball soup that was served quite literally ice cold. The soup was actually chilly and the giant matzo ball as cold as a snowball. We mentioned this apparent cooking oversight and the waitress whisked the bowl away and returned minutes later with a revised version which was luke-warm liquid, (seemingly no chicken had been included in the pot for the making of this room old time favorite). I commented that the chicken had probably just run through the pot without stopping when the soup was cooking. We all agreed that this was a world class FAIL. read more

Came here just under the wire (they were closing in 30 minutes) and they were polite, at least in front of me. Ordered the Bananas Foster French Toast. It was fine...not necessarily the best but ok under the circumstances. Overall, I find the decor a little sterile. Picked up a burger and a greek salad w/ grilled chicken to go. The burger was great and the onion rings it came with were super crispy, even after the 10 minute ride home. I am very picky when it comes to chicken, and the grilled chicken on my salad was delicious, moist and cooked perfectly. Very fresh. Even the pita tHat came with my salad was full of flavor. Items missing from order. Was told they couldn't process a refund. Told to reorder missing items tomorrow and they would bring but would charge another delivery fee. Food that did arrive was horrible. Pancakes were hard as a rock completely inedible. Eggs were very burnt. Everything was thrown out. Terrible customer service Way overpriced.
