Terrible food. Won't ever come back I'm a picky eater but my meal is simple, a sandwhich with only grilled chicken and bacon and fries. The bacon is RAW and the chicken is mostly frozen, sandwhich is chewy. I tried to eat a bit and simply couldn't risk the chances of salmonella. My dish was 18.99 with the soda being 4.49.

Below average diner. For a diner with history, it's sad to see an apparent decline. From those I spoke to in the area, there has been a decline and now experiencing it for myself, I'd have to agree that the quality isn't there. While it's a 'diner', there are certainly better out there. Inside is standard enough with seating and design. Some booths have the jukebox and others don't. The menu is varied, deep, and huge. With so many options, I played it safe with the bacon cheeseburger. The burger was average - not terrible, but I've had better. When a place messes that up, it's not a great sign. I was lucky, since others who I went with were less than satisfied with their meals. A table full of different plates, the odds of messing more than half up is telling. Staff were okay, not great but not terrible. They have a hook game in the entrance, so for all those like me that can get addicted to that, you've been warned. Parking is decent. With so many diners out there, you'd expect better but sadly this place is less than average. Perhaps they had better days and perhaps they will again, but as of now it's a place I won't return to. There are better diners out there and while most of them are relatively standard, it becomes obvious when one is below that standard. Shame.

When we walked in we were greeted by a strong chemical smell that resembled turpentine. All of my local Mahopac friends tell me that is normal here nowadays.......? We ordered our brunch items which included a waffle with sausage links for my wife and a western omelet w/Swiss cheese for me. The eggs were sloppy and didn't hold together well (nor sure why, this isn't normal for an Omelet. Instead of toast, I asked for a bagel and all they had was plain bagels and these were extremely boring and tasteless and I doubt they were ever boiled, technically making them just rolls with a whole in the middle. The turpentine odor did not dissipate at all while we were here and as we were leaving I think it might have actually gotten stronger Last time I was here (about ten years prior) this place was a great greek dinner - now I don't think I'll ever go back...

Parking is super easy for this ideally located staple of Putnam County/Mahopac NY area. You can easily view your car from where you chose to dine. Waitstaff Is quite patient and attentive for indecisive customers such as ourselves. Never did we feel rushed to finalize our meals to leave. Food was crisp and fresh having ordered a Mediterranean Salad and a Panini both times share. They didn't charge a sharing fee. Waitstaff wasn't annoyed at our little requests in between ordering(more napkins etc) They truly wanted you be serving their customers! 4 stars because the diner was noticeably cold. We needed to keep our jackets on. It would have been beneficial to order some soup! Will return again as this isn't my first/last visit to Olympic Diner

There's a parking lot. There's a full bar. There's a full menu typical of diners. They're open 24/7. We had breakfast for dinner of bacon egg and cheese on a bagel and eggs with home fries and toast. Everything was fine.

    No social distancing :(

I've been here before but just use it as a breakfast place when needed. Since I haven't had electricity since yesterday afternoon we really needed to eat. So we got there and was pleased they even had electricity. I wasn't pleased that we were brought into the dining area and Nick wanted to put us in a booth that was sandwiched between two other booths that were occupied. So, I reminded him of 6 feet then he pointed us over across the room to another booth. The waiter was pleasant as usual but the owner really needs to be more conscious of what's going on and not his pockets. People weren't six feet apart and just before I left someone sat right behind me. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

Their matzo ball soup is better than the famous delis here in NYC, and their burger deluxe is fantastic.

My Cousins -- Sunday night, belly full, world makes sense again…read more You know it's good when everybody's quiet at the table. No arguing, no complaints--just chewing. Food comes out hot, portions are serious, and nobody leaves hungry or emotionally unsettled, which after a long week is a miracle. This is real comfort food. The kind where you lean back, loosen the belt, and say, "Alright... that hit." Service is solid, no rush, no attitude. They let you eat like a human being. Five stars. If this place didn't exist, Sundays would be a problem.

Our service throughout the meal was excellent with both our server and the manager (or owner?) checking in consistently. I really liked the decor and music as well. The decor is minimalistic, but I really liked how clean everything felt. I asked about the music -- it was 80s and 90s rock like Journey and Elton John and it matched our tastes perfectly for the particular moment in time we were there. They said they use pandora and the music varies from night to night, but we were fans. The food is where things weren't quite up to 5 stars, which is why the rating. We started with an autumn (squash) soup and wedge salad. The soup was good or maybe even a little better than good, but not great. For me, the salad was the same way. It comes with candied bacon and that just doesn't fit the profile of bleu cheese and iceberg. I ended up eating the salad without the bacon and then having the bacon at the end as an "opening dessert." The salad was super fresh and the dressing was well done. And the bacon alone was delicious--just not great together for my palate. We went with a couple handmade pasta dishes as our mains and they were both good. Again, not quite great. I liked mine better than my wife's. That is sis's new favorite was well named to my mind. It was spicy, but not overly so and the tomato and broccoli added depth to the dish that was missing from my wife's pasta. I would 100% come back. If we do, I think we'd split a pasta and a main. Some of the fish dishes we saw go by looked fantastic. The one negative to me was an occasional whiff of marijuana. I'm totally fine with someone taking a break to calm themselves if that's what they need. I just don't want to smell that while I'm eating, especially in a restaurant that is otherwise very very nice.

This place serves up organic, traditional, vegan (but also vegetarian and can basically turn almost anything into gluten free upon request). You want it, just say it. They can mix and match and adapt to your dietary needs which is so awesome especially when sitting down with a group of dietary alternative friends. It makes it easy and anyone can order what they want without feeling bad (physically and emotionally haha). Where do I even BEGIN with the food, the true star of the show. Came here with a dear friend that wanted to treat us to lunch and I was convinced I wanted to go the bowl route but when I saw chicken and waffles with fried oyster (I think) mushrooms instead of chicken, I was SOLD. This is such a hard one to ever be able to order since the only substitution they'll ever give you is fruit, or simply just a Belgian waffle. Not at Brooklyn Organic Kitchen. You order, they DELIVER. And my deliver I mean SLAY. Wow wow wow. Please look at my mushroom chicken and waffles, a work of art drizzled in this hot agave syrup with a kick. Just a touch. I told you the portions were super Mario size and just take a look at it, double "chicken" double waffle. You can order and share because the sizing here is huge. Yes, the prices are a little bit more elevated but you're also paying to eat organic food, with (almost) any dietary restriction possible. I also tried the vegan Philly cheese steak and my brain isn't doing well at comprehending HOW that mushrooms cut looked like meat. My brain is unwell at how they got it just RIGHT. From the flavors, to the portions to the presentation BOK is an incredible gem that I'm so glad we got to discover thanks to our friend. We left full, satisfied and with to go boxes but my belly was happy the next day getting to enjoy waffles (with fruit this time) right from home. It probably won't be possible for you to leave room for dessert since they kind of don't even let you leave with any room for even breathing after enjoying delicious homemade food BUT, if you so were inclined to or even managed to masterfully leave room for dessert (super Mario size), they do have muffins, cinnamon rolls, cake, cookies, cupcakes - all kinds of things. Can't wait to give those a try next time. We will try to think ahead and share so we can actually leave room for dessert **challenge accepted**.
