Stopped for lunch at 1:30. It is a typical diner, looking dining area. With counter booths and tables. Brought to a booth with 2 of my friends and given menus. Waitress came over to take our drink order. We ordered drinks and lunch at the same time. We shared an order of fried zucchini and ordered chicken, souvlaki, wrap, cheeseburger, deluxe, and a French dip. The food came out in about 10 minutes, which we polished off pretty quickly. I was visiting and taking care of my aunt in the area and my parents drove us to the 202 Diner. I'd never been here before but instantly knew what I wanted without looking at the menu. I knew that I had to try a cheeseburger with fries and a Diet Coke, my favorite diner food. I didn't have to look at the menu to know that they would have it. I also of course asked for dipping ketchup on the side. When my food came in a decent amount of time, I took note of the fact that my fries were warm but my burger was a little cold. It was still really good, but it could have been a little warmer. I know that I ordered my burger to be as rare as possible, but that shouldn't affect the temperature. Don't get me wrong, the food was still good, and I had a good time with my family. The bathrooms were clean, and our tables were clean too. Well we tried to find a decent diner but no luck. This place was awful. Ok so it was a weekday and at a time between breakfast and lunch so I get it, not gonna be busy. We were the only 2 customers in the place. The waitress was just ok, not welcoming by any means but whatever. The French toast was pretty brutal to look at and the taste was nothing to write home about either. The sausage was 'different' per my husband and, again, did not impress. So despite my updated review a month ago stating I would no longer dine here from the late afternoon on, I decided to 'take a chance' and try again at 4 p.m. (although I knew better!). Lo and behold, the same experience presented itself that has taken place on several occasions now. I ordered a turkey club on lightly toasted white with added bacon or swiss cheese (whichever one needed to be added at an extra cost, no problem). ARE YOU READY? I received a cubed chicken and spinach wrap! I asked if I could get a little mayo, didn't complain, didn't question the bill (which was about $4 more as I was charged for my 'original' order) ate and left! Not only will I no longer go here after 3 p.m., I will no longer be going out of my way for breakfast--which is excellent, and has an excellent staff! NEVER a problem! read more

There are so many choices in the area so no need to patronize. I ordered take out and was handed a bag, paid, left a cash tip and went home. Then I discovered I did not have the entire order so I called and the attitude was "oh well" you left a bag here. When I persisted and said that was not ok, I was told that they tried to catch me which is absolutely not true because I walked slowly to my car and sat there for a few minutes before I pulled out. I had to advocate and push it to get my account credited for the bag that I was supposed to have known to have asked for. Everyone makes mistakes but the response from the staff was so hostile and so flippant and I had to push to get the credit because the next step would have been to call my credit card company. First time eating here today with hubby for Father's Day and we both ordered burgers cooked medium. One was a de luxe and the other a solo cheeseburger. For the first time, I told my hubby I enjoyed the burger with lettuce and tomatoes, fries and coleslaw were great. The price was reasonable coz the burgers were big enough on a brioche bun. The food is good; the service is slow and inconsistent. I have to assume this is because it is new and they are having be growing pains. We went in for breakfast on a Sunday and it wasn't full. It took over 45 minutes to get our food and two of the five orders were incorrect. One was even brought out with the other four. I am only taking off one star because I REALLY want them to succeed. If they don't shape up the service, I will be updating my review. UPDATE: Service got much better and is up to par with your standard diner. I wholeheartedly give it the four stars now. Really nice dinner. The staff was very friendly and sat us in a great location so we wouldn't be so close to the door. It gets 3 stars because of the food. I ordered a lemon soup that I was curious to try. I looked it up online to see what it was and was like alright I'll try it. When they brought it to me me not only did it look nothing like any of the photos online but it tasted like cambels soup with some lemon. I was very upset with this. I also ordered a panini which wasn't what I was expecting. The bread was so hard I couldn't eat it. It literally came burnt to a crisp. It's a diner so you don't really have great expectations. The food was passable. Nothing spectacular but not horrible. The presentation on the plate was terrible. It looked as though it was thrown carelessly on the plate. The fries were all broken and seemed as though they had been sitting for a long time. Once again, edible but nothing exceptional. Now the gross part. As I sat there eating, I watched a busboy cleaning tables with a filthy rag that he also wiped the seats with. No cleaner, no Windex, no Lysol, no soap. NOTHING, table after table, seat after seat, with the same dirty rag!!! I wouldn't fire the busboy. I would fire the manager for not properly training and instructing him. Waitress was AWFUL - nasty, like we were in the way. Never experienced anything like this. The door is broke. Men have a hard time opening it. Doordash refunded me, but I called the diner to let them know I was expecting a full entree. I told the person I spoke w/this wasn't my first time with a problem. She informed me that is not helpful. I've been driving past 202 Diner since I moved to the area and finally got around to trying it. We went on a Sunday and it was a short wait (possibly because it was Father's Day). We got seated and the table was slightly dirty from the previous diners but eventually someone came and wiped it down. As for the food, We ordered the rancheros juevos which was a little on the bland side and the grits & brisket skillet which tasted interesting. Overall the food we had was nothing spectacular but they have a lot of other options on the menu, so I'd be willing to give it another try. read more

Was in the area recently so stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner (about 3 pm on a Saturday). There were very few customers so my hubby & I were not sure if that was a good thing or not. Tried the coffee. It was just ok. Since I rarely seem to find spinach pie in my own neck of the woods I decided to give it a try. My husband tried the 202 grilled cheese. His looked super yummy & i don't think he had any complaints. The spinach pie was decent (I've had better but this was just okay) & they were nice enough to semi make my salad into a Greek salad by adding the feta for an extra dollar or two. Even threw in some olives. Nice!! We also split an Apple Pie a la mode. I noticed a strange almost freezer burn taste going on with the crust or something which turned me off. My husband said he didn't notice it so he ate most of the dessert himself. Refilled the coffee & the second cup tasted much better, oddly enough. The highlight of our meal was our fabulous waitress Meagan who could give some lessons to others on how to do the job right. 5 STARS for the service & to Meagan!! 202 Diner would be a place we would return to when in the area again! This was my family members 2nd trip back in 4 years after the remodel. I've never visited. Breakfast,.well, yes, they ruined the bacon. Appeared to have been submerged in the deep fry. Was burnt to a crisp. They took that off of the bill. The friendly staff asked us how we liked it under the new ownership. We asked if it's the same previous cook bc it tastes like it. Below par. I stop by usually when getting my car serviced at the honda dealership next door. The host/owners/waiters are always friendly, polite, courteous. The food is always great with really affordable prices, especially given the big portions. Typical diner fare. We were in the mood for a cheeseburger deluxe so we figured that a diner would be a good place to get such a meal. Boy were we wrong. They managed to mess that meal up. The burger was thin, over cooked and borderline burnt. My father ordered the lamb chop special and at first it looked pretty good but later he learned that each small chop was tough and chewy. Randomly stopped by this place with my family to get a bite to eat before we hit up FDR Pool. Overall, we had a pretty good experience. The breakfast was good, their Caesar salad was actually pretty amazing, their gyro was tasty, and the kiddos loved the chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon (although they complained because they only got two strips of bacon). I ordered the Mediterranean chicken panini which was good but needed some greens. The service was decent, one lady was a little snappy (to another customer, not us-we don't play that!) and another lady who picks up plates grabbed my husband's plate without even asking to be sure he was done (he actually was done, but still you should ask first). The bathrooms were clean, and in the way out an older man who looked like he ran the place gave the kids some cookies wrapped in tissue paper, but they didn't like them because they tasted like refrigerator. Been here several times and usually its pretty great. Went there tonight and we were greeted by an older woman that seemed less than pleased to see us. Didn't want to seat is in the dining room because they were going to clean it. Pretty odd because there were quite a few people in there. We sat in a booth even though we wanted a table and proceeded to be ignored for about 10-15 minutes. We just left. There are too many restaurants in the neighborhood where we can be greeted pleasantly, seated where we want and at the very least, acknowledged, maybe even offered a cup of coffee or a glass of water. Can I give this place minus 10 stars, after my first disastrous experience where they couldn't even prepare eggs properly I never wanted to come back. My friend convinced me to come back so I ordered a grilled chicken panini with grilled peppers and mozzarella. I specifically asked for well done fries. The chicken is tasteless, the bread not pressed properly just slightly toasted and the peppers not grilled at all. Fries not even close to well done...this place is a mess! read more
