Stopped by after a hike while waiting for the next train back into nyc. Friendly bartender and quick service. I enjoyed my bourbon bacon jam burger (to go) even though the bun was much bigger than the patty (which is a pet peeve of mine). The fries were delicious! Sat at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail while waiting for my food. I think it was called the aurora borealis. The cocktail I had was light and refreshing (sometimes you need that). read more

First of all, they were able to accommodate our large 10 person party without a reservation. They were so sweet and took care of us with a very minimal wait. The restaurant is so cute. We were sat in the outdoor section which was very lovely. Okay, the food. It was such an incredible brunch! Maybe some of the best sausage biscuit and gravy I've ever had! The menu was delicious and unique. My party had a variety of dishes and there was not a single complaint. The staff is very kind and attentive. Our first time here. Food and coffee was good. 4 stars because it wasnt anything special. Service was whatever, good enough to not piss a person off. I thought our server's lack of attention to details was disappointing (as someone who has served brunch/coffee for 3 years in my life on the Upper east side). My husbands coffee came with spills all over the saucer (pictured). Its so easy to wipe that off before serving it to the client. His attitude was also kind of whatever. He didnt say hello how are you or welcome...jumped straight to ask what we wanted to order. Checked on us once and then the coffee...he just had too much of a laid back attitude which again as someone who has experience in serving (and naturally im a hostess at heart), i would expect a little more enthusiasm. I recently came here with a friend and had the best eggs Benedict of my life. The biscuits are out of this world flakey, the eggs are cooked perfectly, and the Hollandaise is delightfully tangy and savory. My friend got the biscuits and gravy and really enjoyed it. We split an order of Brussels sprouts and they were scrumptious. It turns out they sell the biscuits separately and we got a couple to go. The cocktails are fantastic too and you can ask them for any substitutions and they will readily provide them. This is an absolute gem of a place, that offers a great atmosphere, lovely waitstaff (shout out to Lida for being the absolute best), and truly memorable food. A bonus is that if you're with people who like to watch trains there are plenty going by to whet the railfan appetite as well! What an absolute gem of a place, and a total boon for Peekskill. The food was very good.... A great Quinoa salad & a solid burger. However the service was below par. the hostess/ waitress spent more time out back with the bartender who smoked one cigarette after another. They were not attentive to the customers. Negative chairs and table need to be cleaned off more often or at least without having to ask when someone asks to sit outside. Drinks super yummy, I had the wings which I asked for extra crispy and not only were they crispy they were flavorful and juicy on the inside also had the beet salad because it was so hot did not want to over do it, delicious, I don"t eat mandarin so forgot to ask for them not to be on my plate because I hate wasting food but I moved them to the side and all was good not a morsel left on my two plates. $60 with tip was decent for 1 person would say with today's economy. I have 4 stars instead of 5 because 1 the dirty tables and 2 the noise from the passing trains please bring your noise cancelling head phones or AirPods and turn volume up to max because the whole outside rumbles and is so loud you feel like your ears will explode when they blow the horns. A friend of mine invited us over for the brunch and I liked the place. It was a former train station turned into a restaurant. The breakfast menu was a bit limited for my taste. We started with the coffee and it was good. ( I like strong coffee so I can add cream and sugar.) Menu on the pictures are Egg Benedict and Patatas Bravas. Both of them were really good. My favorite was the potatoes which I really enjoyed. I am not a potato person and do not like to eat potatoes. Their potatoes were so good maybe the best potatoes I ever tasted so far. This place is super cozy and has a really trendy vibe. The menu is a great trip across cuisines, with a penchant for Greek. The ceilings are high and the train station vibe makes it fun. To start, we had spicy feta dip, hummus, tzaziki, and olive tapenade. Each was very tasty, however, the spicy feta stole the show. I had the rainbow trout special, which was cooked perfectly and they brought out an entire fish, Greek style, minus the head. The burgers looked fantastic and was told they tasted even better than they looked. The bar is very well curated and the cocktails were really tasty. Julia was our server and made the meal extra special. Timing was perfect and relaxed. The only gripe I had was that while the chairs looked very pretty and were perfect for the style of the restaurant, for my size, 6ft, 180lbs, they became quite uncomfortable after a short period of time. Two stars is because the paella was pretty good. The server was pretty awkward the whole time. He asked us what we wanted to drink and we got water and ordered an appetizer of Brussel sprouts. He put the order in and then got on the computer and ignored us. He finally looked over and we told him we were ready and ordered the paella even though he said it would take 25 minutes to make. No rush. Brussel sprouts came out plain and when i asked about the toppings advertised, he lied and said they're mixed in with a sauce. I didn't really taste a sauce so I asked for a side of the sauce. He got back on his computer and then took a menu to the back, came back and told me the Chef was new and they'd make a new batch. New batch was delicious but definitely had all the toppings NOT mixed in a sauce. Weird that he lied but I ate it, I'm not even mad at this point. Once we finally got our paella though, the server never looked at us again. We had to reach out to ask for more water and had to ask his coworkers for the box and bill. There were three of us and we decided to share some items from the mezze menu. The Brussel sprouts with halumi and plum sauce were delicious. The horiatiki salad was a large Greek-style salad that was also very good. We also got some crispy chicken wings with the HSS (House Special Sauce). These didn't do much for us. The sauce was kind of like a thin ketchup or tomato sauce. Not very flavorful. The wings were nicely crisp so probably would be better with one of the other sauces. The service was friendly and fast. The old railroad station with 12' ceilings and huge windows is very nice. What's not nice is how drafty the cafe is and how the brick walls and high ceilings amplify talk. My iPhone actually warned me that the loudness could damage my hearing! Waited, and waited for someone to come over to take our breakfast order. No one did. Had to go up to the cashier counter to ask for service. The old railroad station benches that line the walls, serve as 25% of the cafe's seating. The benches are so low, that my 6 foot+ frame felt like I was sitting on the floor. $14 for ONE slice of French Toast? (I NEVER!). A Breakfast Burrito served with refrigerator cold meat inside? Went to the Central Peekskill to see the fireworks on the River. Took a while to order. But once we did the Food and Atmosphere was great!! Drinks were very poor. I ordered a spicy margarita and got the first one the way it should be (spicy and Jalapeños). The second one came and it had cucumbers in it. When in ordered another to take with me to see the fire works on the river, it came in a glass and was really bad. It didn't have any jalapeños or spice to it. There was nothing in the drink at all. Not sure they can handle big crowds. Tried to order desert and had to ask 3 people for a menu. Finally was told they only had 3 deserts. Cookies, cookie Sunday, and carrot cake. Went for the cookie Sunday. I will say for $12 for a cookie Sunday with melting ice cream was a rip off. To have the prices they have, the quality should be way better. read more

I like the bar here. Good bartenders and good cocktails in a comfortable space. Food is hit or miss in the restaurant. Mostly really good dishes/concepts, medium execution on them. I tried the cafe/bistro part of their concept for the first time recently (one half of the place is a sit down restaurant, the other half more of a coffee shop kind of grab and go vibe). I would NOT recommend it for grab and go. I got a coffee and a bacon egg and cheese. The BEC was FIFTEEN DOLLARS. To be fair, it was like, a meal. It's big and comes with homefries in a big cardboard Togo box. But like. That's not what I want from a cafe by the train. I wanted a sandwich wrapped in foil that takes 5 minutes and costs 5 bucks. And it took fifteen minutes to come up. Definitely not the quick/affordable breakfast hopping onto the train that I was looking for. My son took me(his mom) and aunts for dinner to celebrate my sister 65th birthday. We started off with cheese rice ball delicious-next Buffalo wing delicious-now we get to dinner I had the steak sandwich steak was just right not chewy so that was good my sister had the fis of the day salmon she loved it said it was tasty, Brussels sprouts deliciously crispy but a little over salty but you could still enjoy-my other sister had the rotisserie chicken with cabbage mashed potatoes loved it. My son asked for the pancetta sandwich had more fat then meat couldn't eat it so he ordered more rice cheese balls and wings. Drinks we had pretty good -we also had Irish coffee with out the Bailey ( they had none in house)thought it would taste good but big mistake without Bailey just didn't work. As for the food - hits and misses... What worked - Two shared appetizers. The "Pan Con Tomate" (Grilled Baguette, Heirloom Tomato, Anchovy, Burrata) was enjoyed as was the "Patatas Bravas" (Potatoes, Pimento, Garlic Aioli, Romesco, Manchego) What missed - 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken was a bit dry however the accompanying Crispy Brussel Sprouts were excellent...the cole slaw not so much.
