Visited with my wife recently, we were greeted from friendly staff, very warm atmosphere. Started with Fried Avocavado and Grill shrimp as Spiedini Romano, both were excellent. I've been to fat cells twice in the last couple weeks. The first time I had their chicken Parmesan and today I had their chicken François and I got a Telya. The sauce on both dishes was insanely good. The service is incredible, the people are really nice, and everybody that I was with on both occasions loved their food. Had not been there for a long time. Probably will not return. Prices have increased but quality dropped. The ' manager' sat at the corner of the bar and never walked around to greet or check on customers. He was talking to one of the waitresses the entire time. I couldn't get the attention of a waitress(wasn't our main waitress) because she was too busy talking to him. Other people I was with agreed prices are too high for what is served for a local neighborhood restaurant. It needs a more customer oriented Manager. read more

Finally checked this place out for taco tuesday since I've been saying I would get here for years. Tacos were basic beef or chicken and our server was on her first day so she had to double check every question we had. She was still very friendly and fairly attentive although the lack of details didn't help the meal. Tacos overall were so so. Can't say I would venture back for them again and the margaritas were rather weak. I had two and didn't even notice a buzz or anything. Place is small but cute and bathrooms were snazzy with a black toilet circa Mike Tyson's bathroom in 1988. Burgers are fantastic! Fries and onion rings really good too. Fat Sal's has so many beers on tap, so you can really find something you like on draft. Service is quick and extremely friendly. Have yet to try the desert because I'm usually way too full after the burger! It's also very clean, and decorated extremely cozy. RESTAURANT DOES NOT TAKE ALLERGIES SERIOUSLY My husband ordered the skirt steak salad and informed the waitress that he has a dairy allergy. He requested no dairy products, and specified no cheese because the salad normally comes with cheese. He likes to eat the steak first, then the lettuce. He ate most of the steak and then discovered a piece of blue cheese that normally comes with the order. Immediately upon discovery he put his fork and knife down, and hailed the waitress. While waiting for the waitress, he showed me to confirm it is cheese, and I confirmed. We brought this to the attention of the waitress who picked up the salad and inspected it. Upon her inspection she said there is definitely no cheese in it. My husband told her that his stomach hurts as a result of having eaten the cheese. During her inspection (while the waitress was holding the dish), my husband identified the piece of cheese on a piece of lettuce. She then implied that we must have planted the cheese because I had the same dish with cheese and my husband ate most of the steak already. This implied that we were lying about the issue just to get a free meal, which was very embarrassing. She implied this by saying "the cheese might have fallen in due to a mistake", and pointed at my dish. Despite admitting to there being cheese in the dish, she didn't comp the meal. She gave us 10% off the whole bill. She said she did this because my husband said his stomach hurt. This was about $13. The meal was about $25. Due to my husband's health we have to take dairy allergies extremely seriously. I'm extremely disappointed in the way we were treated. The way the waitress handled this issue made us feel like we were at fault, when in reality my husband experienced an allergic reaction due to having eaten cheese. Anytime we hike at Harriman, we visit this restaurant. It became a staple in our lifestyle. This time, we even brought a friend. Regrettably, we cannot return because this restaurant does not take allergies seriously and publicly embarrassed us. read more

Cozy and homey vibe, great service, reasonably-priced and tasty food, menu with plenty of options, and TVs everywhere. My entire party of seven was happy with their apps, which included a massive beer pretzel and homemade barley soup, as well as their entrees, which included the likes of burgers, salmon, and chicken fajitas. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, and our drinks (mostly water tonight) never went dry. Only criticism I have is that their fries seemed as if they were straight out of a frozen Ore Ida bag. If this is true, they should strongly consider putting in the extra effort of making real fries at some point. A new place in a building that has been at least 2 other venues that I know about. It was certainly packed on a Friday night, as you would expect. There's a small lot across the street so parking could end up being a problem, but we didn't have one. Lots of folks at the bar, both on our way in and on the way out. We lucked out and got a table right away (it was early-ish). By the time we were leaving, people were waiting for tables. Service was OK but I forgot how small the dining room is, but they do a good job considering. I had the Fat Sal's Burger and she who cannot be named had Chili and Mac & Cheese with toasted bread crumbs. Hers: The Chili was hotter than expected, but not too hot to eat. She neglected to read the fine print (or maybe ANY of the print) and it turned out to be porterhouse chili with huge chunks of meat, maybe porterhouse, maybe not. Unexpected but interesting. The Mac & Cheese was nothing special; wifey's Mac Daddy Mac & Cheese is better. My burger...well, I believe that you should eat a burger with your hands. This one required a knife and fork due to the toppings. Burger was good, not great. There was some interplay of flavors that I wasn't too fond of. Maybe it was the pumpkin beer and the bbq sauce, who knows. We both agreed we would give it at least one more shot. Just couldn't go to 4 stars. read more
