This place is different than other axe places because they have a variety of games that you can play (similar to bejeweled, tic tac toe, wheel of fortune, uploading a picture of something or someone you want to throw an axe on, etc). It definitely mixes things up from just throwing at a target. You get a quick lesson upfront which was enough since we've done it before (still not great though). They have two different weights in axes. You can choose an hour ($25 pp) or two. We didn't have to reserve in advance but if you do there's a deposit. The place looked very dim from the outside but you can either park in the back or in front of some other stores in the front. There's a pool and video game area in the back but it was inhabited by a group of dudes and seemed a bit dated in there. The main strip is pretty busy with a lot of chain stores and restaurants.

We picked a location that was the midpoint between my home in Connecticut and my parents' home in New York City. We couldn't have chosen a better place than Banana Cabana! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a staff member (I wish I had caught her name) who greeted us with a big smile. She gave an excellent demonstration on how to properly throw an axe, let us practice a few rounds, and provided helpful tips on positioning our arms and legs for the best results. The venue had a great drink menu with plenty of options, including non-alcoholic beer. We also loved the variety of games available Battleship was a favorite! Another fun touch was the TouchTunes music system, where we could purchase credits and play our favorite songs. We definitely took advantage of that! Overall, we had an amazing time and will 100% be returning if we're ever in the area again.

Trying to see what else was open wish we could go bowling or mini golfing everything was closed but the website said it was open

To be honest, I was missing variety in the types of puzzles and the physicality in the tasks I needed to perform. Most of the tasks centered around logic puzzles in the room I escaped from. The one room floor plan limits the creativity and doesn't truly allow for a better experience relative to other escape rooms I've tried. This location is very convienent being in the mall I was already in. The folks are very friendly and helpful as well when I needed clues. There is Axe Throwing available as well.

What makes this especially hard to justify is that the venue was nearly empty, with multiple unused lanes (including ones right next to us) sitting idle the entire time. This policy wasn't disclosed when booking, and charging per person while limiting participation like this significantly reduces the value of the service; and of course made us unhappy and unable to enjoy the experience as much. Contacting the management produced excuses but no meaningful resolution.

There you'll find a beautiful building with a nice bar and restaurant, axe throwing, air hockey, golf simulation, pool and a nice area to host your events. I know this is popular with the golf community and have seen them host the volunteer fire fighter events as well. Would love to get the pickleballers up in here one day as the go-to spot since the courts in stony point are so close. The real ones should know about this place hence why I decided to write a review. I recommend checking out their events calendar for upcoming activities to do with your friends so you can get the most out of your experience there.

Weed Beach, located across a bay from Stamford, has something of a mystical quality to it. It is where high schoolers go in the summertime to smoke out (yes, the name is a coincidence), where the passionate but slightly off-tune sounds of local bands fill humid night air. Weed Beach has woodlands to wander through, a hidden playground through a clearing of trees, paddle tennis courts that I think only ghosts use, and lots and lots of weeds, making every step into the water squishy and unsure. But Pear Tree Point is the beach where you get things done. It's got boat docks attached, so it's the starting point for many a "booze cruise", a favorite pasttime of the Darienite. Families love Pear Tree Point, probably because it's shaped in such a way that it's easy for the kids to stay in view; there's nowhere to disappear to. So children go about producing their childlike things: sandcastles, trenches for the water to flow through, holes to bury themselves in. Pear Tree Point has a gazebo at its center, perched on top of rocks. It's perfect for eating a hamburger and fries from the concession stand during the day, and for making out at night. Pear Tree Point is situated along Long Neck Point, location of some of the fanciest houses in this very, very fancy part of the world. If you're the kind of person who likes to gawk at luxurious homes a la Newport, Rhode Island, then it's worth a slow drive down Long Neck Point road until you get to the end, which is a former girls' school now converted, I think, into residences. The atmosphere is rarefied, elegant, and oh-so-preppy. Pear Tree Point, like all the beaches in southern Fairfield County, has a kind of rough sand, and the water's generally cold. Tahiti it is not. The sun, like so many phenomena in the New York area, is either too dim or too scorching. It takes a certain toughness to enjoy beachgoing in the northeastern part of the United States. But after a day being there, you feel as if you have accompilshed something, and accomplishment, after all, is the highest personal value among most Darienites who bring the never-stop-achieving ethos of New York City back to their town.

The snack bar "uncles by the shore" is owned by uncles deli which is situated on the post road in Darien and closes around 3pm I believe which is pretty annoying. One star off for their gross bathrooms. This beach is smaller than weed beach and does not have a pavilion like weed beach but has a cute gazebo and plenty of space. If you're lucky enough to even get in.
