We had tickets to a comedy show at The Factoria (which is part of this venue), so we came here for dinner beforehand. The restaurant was extremely busy and clearly understaffed -- there were only two servers working incredibly hard. Service was definitely slow, but I give them a lot of credit for doing their best under the circumstances. They were very gracious and even brought us a complimentary drink to apologize for the wait, which was a really nice touch. Despite the delays, the food was excellent. The nachos were great, the French dip and chicken sandwich were both very good, and honestly, the fries were some of the best I've ever had. We also tried their house-made beer, which was delicious. One thing to note is the layout of the restaurant. It's right next to (and partially within) the arcade, so it can get very loud with lots of kids running around and yelling. I can definitely see the appeal for parents -- being able to eat and have a drink while keeping an eye on their kids is a big plus. For those without kids or looking for a quieter, kid-free night, it's just something to be aware of. That said, I'd love to come back in the summer and sit on the outdoor deck along the water. Service was not good and the food was worse. I had the worst chicken sandwich of my life, & the server stole my change - twice! I paid for my food when I ordered and the girl whims the bar that took my order kept the coins of my change without asking. I thought maybe she made a mistake, but I ordered a beer after the meal to wash down the terrible chicken sandwich and she did it again. I have no problem with tipping and always tip more than 20%, but prefer to make the decision to tip on my own without being stolen from. I got the shrimp tacos and my husband got the sesame chicken burrito. There was no cabbage on either of ours. It was shredded lettuce, so our food lacked any crunch. My husband ate half of his and I ate one taco. We definitely would NOT order again: We asked a staff member if they ran out of cabbage, but they didn't know what cabbage was (true story). This was a nice secret to stumble across! There's an octopus sculpture on the side of the street that caught my attention then there were cars leaving the end of the street.. you would never know that this place was at the end of the street. Service was amazing, the bartender was hilarious, patient, and helpful. I even got to meet the chef and I cannot wait to see what he has in store for the spring/summer. read more

Awesome place to enjoy a good drink and some apps. The outside bar has a casual atmosphere with the friendliest servers taking care of your needs. They serve some really delicious smoked wings and the raw bar is always fresh. The best part of this place is you can hang out as long as you want and no one bothers you, they just keep on serving with a smile. They don't offer table service, you have to order your drinks at the bar and they bring the food out to your table. No frills but it is fantastic for a beautiful day. Came here randomly on a Saturday night. This seems like a popular place, and I see why. Good view, live band at night, lots of seating, and a decent menu. We had the burger, nacho fries, the meat pizza, and the carrot cake. Everything tasted good. The burger was really good. Order it, you wilI enjoy it. I enjoyed the pizza. It was well made. They didn't skim on the toppings and perfectly thin. Now for dessert whatever you do, just order it. They have a pastry chef in house! That was a very delicious carrot cake. Not too sweet and moist. *Not Baby/Kid Friendly* We've been big fans for 4 years - we always bring visiting family and friends. However, as a new parent, I now find the outdoor bar and picnic area to be very unwelcoming. This past week when I was told my 9 month old (stroller-bound, not walking) couldn't be in the bar area because they can't serve anyone under 21, myself and my friend were fine with relocating to the picnic tables. Yes there is a sign for no one under 21 allowed by the bar area - okay... fine. The 9 month old can't be in there. But there is no ramp for strollers to the picnic area we were directed to. I watched other new parents carry their strollers down the stairs. We then waited 30 minutes for a waitress to come over to us. We weren't the only parents noticing and vocalizing our concerns. Tonight on a quiet Wednesday night we gave them another chance. We brought our family visiting from NYC to show off our local spot. We had a great time but as we were waiting for the check, a staff member approached me and told us 'the kid' (my nephew) had to stop tossing a ball in the air to himself while he waited. There were little to no other customers around. They almost had us... New parents are a customer base that is seeking "kid friendly" breweries/places. This area doesn't have one and we thought River Outpost would be our slam dunk spot. This sucks. I never write negative reviews especially for local joints we love (loved). Please do better. This review is for the food and drinks only. Didn't get to try the beer and I prob should've stuck with that. We got the cider drink. It was weak. For food we got truffle pizza ($23) for a personal pie, 8 wings for 18 dollars and for the kids mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers. Pizza didn't taste like truffle. It tasted like a frozen white pizza. Wings were only ok. No carrots or celery sticks and a small side of blue cheese dressing. Mozzarella sticks had no cheese pull and the chicken fingers were dry and flat. Don't waste your money on the food here. We only did bc we had a couple of kids who were enjoying Spin. Also, it's loud. There was to be a band playing and they did. They played one song. Literally one song (summer of 69) I guess jimmy quit and Jody got married so the band broke up that night. Came here after a hike for ice cold beer and grub (and a bathroom). Took us a while to figure out how to get inside since there's a few different business inside. Went to the bathroom to wash my hands post-hike, and I don't know how to say this other than I felt cleaner, post-hike, than the bathroom and facilities were. The brewery is in a place called The Factoria and there is one set of bathrooms for the whole facility... And it's grimy. The women's door isn't labeled, and the door is half the size of the men's door, which has MEN scribbled in sharpie. There was a third door labeled private, so I was left to assume the blank door was women's. There were two stalls, neither door locked properly, and the walls were covered in mold. So gross. But 2 stalls for a facility where there's 100+ cars? So weird. Walking back to the bar, everything felt so gross and grimy after seeing the moldy bathroom walls. Makes it feel like the kitchen might not be clean too. Ultimately decided to leave based on cleanliness. Felt like a C rating. read more

I went there around 6pm on a Saturday. The band was setting up as there's live music every weekend. I opted to sit outdoors where the band was, which also has a view of the water. There were three of us so we ordered a bunch of food to share amongst us. You have to order inside at the bar but they will bring the food out to you once it's ready. We ordered shrimp cocktail, oysters, wings, brisket, sausage, mozzarella sticks, and quinoa salad. Every thing was good. I would come back here again. read more

We ordered and told him we were waiting for Friends before we ordered food. It wasn't a problem. Our friends arrived but after that, the waiter was nowhere to be found. He never came back to take the food order. We waited at least 15 minutes. He was in the corner talking to a coworker. My husband had to get up and walk to the corner to ask him to take our order for food and drinks. No one had any drinks either. This was the theme of the evening. We ended up having to clear our table twice because no one removed any of the dishes and glasses! We put them on empty tables next to us. Once again the waiter was in the corner talking! They were only maybe six tables in the Entire restaurant they had people at them. The table next to us was equally disgusted. They actually started going up to the bar and getting their own drinks, even though they had a tab going for their table. The food was OK. The wings were mushy, no buffalo wings should be mushy. They should be crisp. My grain salad was good but the butternut squash or sweet potato was crunchy. (Like biting into a potato!) I like my vegetables al dente and I don't mind softer but I couldn't even eat them because they were so crunchy. This restaurant definitely needs help with training proper waiters. The bus boys flew around the restaurant, but somehow did not clear our table. They only stopped when we started putting our empty dishes on other tables. See picture of our table. We've come here many times and it's pretty consistent. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm evening and gorgeous sunset over the Hudson. The beer is cold and quite refreshing. Our party of four shared some pretzel bites and popcorn shrimp to start. Both are quite tasty. I chose the brisket sandwich for my meal with a side salad. Know first that it is a little difficult to find. It's right on the river in a large building. When you enter, you will walk through a large arcade to reach the far end of the building. My wife and I just came from a hiking and what we always do is we go to a brewery or a restaurant after the hike to replenish nutrients. As always we browsed YELP to find a good place to eat and we found this, which is not that far from our hiking area. There is a choice when you go here, either indoor or outdoor dining, we chose outdoor because it has a waterfront view of a small harbor of Hudson River. It was slightly raining at that time so their outdoor table umbrella was very useful. I ordered chicken wings with fries and my wife ordered tacos, I also ordered a beer with it. Their beer was good tasting and smooth, I ended up drinking two pints. Service was excellent, they always checked on us, food and drinks was served at an acceptable waiting time. The beer is just the right cold temperature. Chicken and fries taste good. The whole set-up was excellent, having my wife with me, good conversation, drinking beer, eating chicken wings, tacos and fries with an exceptional view. They do a good job socially distancing outdoors, tables are spaced out. I had the guacamole pizza - corn, tomatillos salsa and jalapeños baked into a pizza with dollops of gaucamole on top. The place is great for a family visit. A bit of everything for all ages. AX throwing, rope hanging course, laser tag, games, birthday parties etc. Food has changed a bit from the summer it seems. We ordered fish tacos, Irish nachos, 1/2 dozen oysters and clams in green curry sauce. The Tacos were bland, like not even salt. This was the 3rd time ordering them and this was the worse. Dude, please season it or add some sauce to dip or pour on top of the Taco. This was subpar...from this establishment The Irish nachos, were pretty good as always. The Curry clams, the sauce does not stick to the clams so you rarely get the flavor. The soup by itself was great and dipping the two skinny slices of bread was great. Maybe add 1 more bread and more broth and add a spoon? The beers were great and service was impeccable. The new server (tall guy) was very nice to work with and he showed what it takes to do this job well. Head to river outpost if you want to enjoy a beautiful river view with some delicious beers and cocktails. We LOVE the spicy margaritas there (surprisingly some of the best margaritas in the area by far). The major downside to this place for me is they don't have a single vegan option on the menu. They offer a beyond burger but the bun isn't vegan and to me that's a lack of effort. If this place offered just ONE single fully vegan item on their menu we would end up coming here wayyyy too much. Instead we usually dine at nearby Peekskill brewery that has great vegan options and then come here on our way home just for the drinks! My non vegan hubby likes the pizza here a lot! Great vibes with a beautiful setting! Situated right on the cove and marina, it's the perfect spot, weather permitting. To start, we got half a dozen West Coast oysters and pretzel bites. They were creamy and fresh! The bier cheese to go with the pretzels was to die for! For entrees, we got a Margarita Pizza and Lobster Roll. The lobster roll was one of the best I've had. Finally peeped this spot and wow... it's sooo much bigger inside than I imagined. Recalling the late 1990's when it was crystal bay, I had never been downstairs but they really blew me away with utilizing all the space and breaking it up into comfy sections, lounge areas, eating and play areas. The beer is not quite to my liking but hopefully with time they will expand their palate and use an even bigger array of hop types. Like I always write about, I'm a big fan of the gose and sour varieties and I am keeping my fingers crossed River Outpost eventually creates one.. would be perfect for summer which is around the corner! And speaking of summer, this place is going to be the perfect spot once the sun and heat comes back and I can just see so many flocking to it since it's close to the Hudson. Also ordered a citrus punch. It was refreshing, citrus like and lemon flavored. Might sneak up on you. Close to a Moscow mule. Ate the meats pizza and a plain cheese. Both were great and the crust crispy. Seemed as if made in a wood oven. Mozzarella sticks weren't as crispy as I liked but edible. Also had the wings which had a nice rub on them, delicious sauce on the side and crispy. We also ordered the cheesesteak. It had an abundance of meat on it, cheesy, and flavorful. They DO NOT serve dessert or coffee but do CHARGE 3% for paying with your debit card! Regrettably paid $7 for 2-shrimp ($3.50/ea.) as an appetizer which came over a very large bowl of ice! When it arrived, I actually asked if that was for me, and if that was what I ordered? Two shrimp over a half-pound of ice, no cocktail sauce, $7! Originally tried to make a reservation for the supposedly nicer restaurant upstairs (Fin & Brew), but between the fact the website says they're closed, Open-Table said they were open (but didn't have any availability at my time) and the fact no one answers the &%$#@! phone--I gave up and wound up on the patio at River Outpost. Was excited to find out this place existed, and just like their father location Captain Lawrence, their pizza was very good. I was so excited to go here... but unfortunately will never be back. We came with a party of 9 ladies for a bachelorette party. The reservation was made weeks in advance, however once we got there they refused to serve us. The waitress stated that they do not serve people under 25 without a NY ID (6 out of 9 of us were 24+, others were 22). We asked why we were not told this when making a reservation and they said it is posted on their website (it is absolutely not). We asked to speak with a manager who said that the rule is posted on their door.... again, it is absolutely not. We asked to have out IDs scanned and show second forms because it was a bachelorette party and we were looking forward to dining here and were all over 21. The manager refused and when I politely asked for further explanation she yelled "YOU NEED TO RELAX". We of course knew then that this was not a place we would ever give our business to. I highly advise going elsewhere. I have worked in the service industry for 7 years and never once have heard a manager speak to a group of people like that (let alone young women including a BRIDE TO BE). This is becoming one of my favorite spots in Peekskill especially during the summer months. You can eat inside or eat outside and enjoy the beautiful views of the Hudson River. By far the best view for any restaurant in Peekskill. On weekends they regularly have live music and entertainment. A buddy of mine and I have been here several times now and we've always had an enjoyable experience. The outside seating area can get packed on the weekends especially if there is live music and wait times can be long. But overall, it should be expected as its a popular and happening spot! The food menu is great with a nice selection of pizzas, burgers, wings, chips and dips.. what you would normally find in a brewpub type of establishment. If you want finer dining then head upstairs to Fin & Brew, a seafood restaurant housed in the same facility. Oh, and did I mention this is a brewery?! They have a great selection of beers brewed on-site! I try a different beer every time I come here. If you like IPAs then definitely check out their session IPA, the Skippa's Sippa. We had BBQ dinner plans for Father's Day, but since the weather was so beautiful, we decided to go for a walk in the early afternoon from Peekskill along the river front and ended up by the marina, so we decided to stop for some drinks and appetizers. The hostess at the podium was very condescending when we asked for a table and told her we didn't have reservations (even though there were a lot of empty tables). She placed us at a table with no umbrella and when we asked if we could have one with an umbrella she said those are only for the people with reservations. :-/ So we were seated directly in the hot sun. Okay....so then we put in our drink and food orders. They were out of the beer my husband wanted on tap so he chose something else and was brought the wrong beer. We couldn't even let the waiter know because we didn't see him again until an hour later when he appeared at our table to apologize and tell us our food was running late and it would be awhile longer. Now, I realize restaurants get busy, but a pizza and one appetizer should NOT take an over an hour! At this point we were baking in the hot sun for sixty minutes already even though there were empty tables with umbrellas the entire time we were there. We were starving, sunburnt, and cranky and absolutely DONE, so we cancelled our order and paid the bill for the drinks and left. What a terrible experience! Thanks a lot for ruining my husband's Father's Day! Also, as we were leaving we heard the table next to us complaining that they never got their appetizers or their kids orders, only the adult food came out.
