Pretty good selection of beer. Chocolate cherry stout specular. Nice venue, both indoor and outdoor seating. Food menu was impressive. Food and drink service were ok at best. However the ordering system is disjointed and there were more kids here than at Chuck E. Cheese.

Second time here. Was pretty busy for trivia night. Tried the new Black Velvet Lager and it was superb! We have had the pizzas in the past and they were incredible!

One of our favorite places for over a decade! Love the beers, the food, the music and bands, the outdoor beer garden tables, the special events! The staff has been here for years and everyone is like family!

I visited pre Covid had a nice time but I must say they have made a many improvements and have lovelier venue and nice menu great selections on alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages! Entertainment on weekends and the availability to do private events . Kid free zone 12 month and over . Service took a bit meaning 30 minutes but were kind . It is a beer garden atmosphere. I will come back!

Great evening al fresco. Grabbed a table around 5:30pm and enjoyed the evening. The servers keep things moving (but as it gets later, the bar and kitchen get backed up, be patient). The shrimp roll was absolutely delish and the carnitas tacos were the real deal. I included a burger we had in the photos a few weeks ago but forgot to post. Also really good. You can't go wrong. Lots of kids and families, and there's plenty to do so the kids don't get bored. Not a bad way to start the weekend.

Really cool place. I have been in NY 4 years and this is my first brewery! Yea I can't believe it either. Well, I guess Yardhiuse kinda counts idk lol. Anyway great staff big open spaces indoor outdoor. Libby loves her job!!!! She was super knowledgeable on all the beer selection. We appreciated this as being Product developers in beverage! Thanks Libby and Maddy! Because I live in the city I can't say when I will be back, but I will be back! -also pizza was delicious!

I not only loved this brewery because of the awesome atmosphere and being a lover of beer and going to new breweries but the food here was incredible. I had the chicken sandwich and the pretzel. The cheese sauce that comes with pretzel is very tasty! The drinks we had were tasty as well. I had the orange crush beer ( 2 of them actually) and then I had a mixed drink. I came here for my first time a few days ago for a fundraising event I helped out at. They have this really cool like give back thing where on Thursdays you can collect donations for whatever charity you are with and then its happy hour pricing for the people who donate all night. I also can't begin to tell you how wonderful the staff was here. Since we had a table by the door the staff would ask if we need anything .. drinks, food or anything else. I deff will be coming back here in the near future.

Captain Lawrence Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Pleasantville, New York in 2006. It was founded by head brewer Scott Vaccaro. In 1995, Vaccaro saw a high school classmate's father homebrewing and asked if he could help assist. Still just a teenager, Vaccaro was told that he would be allowed with parental permission. He later enrolled at Villanova University to study accounting, but transferred to UC Davis to study fermentation science when he realized that beer was his true passion. Vaccaro interned at Adnams Brewery in the UK and later worked at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. He opened his first brewery on Castleton Street in Pleasantville. He named it "Captain Lawrence" in reference to the street that he grew up on: "Captain Lawrence Drive" (named for the 18th century militia captain Samuel Lawrence). In 2011, after outgrowing its 20-barrel system, the brewery relocated to a larger space in Elmsford that had a bottling line and a larger brew system. In May 2019, the Elmsford brewery expanded to 33,000-square-feet and added a full-service restaurant. In October 2020, the brewery opened a secondary Barrel House location in Mount Cisco which focuses on barrel-aging and blending both beer and spirits. My son and I recently visited Captain Lawrence Brewing for lunch. My wife and I visited the brewery a couple of times when we first started dating. The brewery had changed a lot since my last visit; I love the new restaurant space that they have now. One thing is for sure, the brewery is very family friendly. I couldn't help but notice that there were a lot of people who were like me: late 30s/early 40s, got into craft beer about 10 years ago, who now had young children, etc. Although the food menu features a variety of different dishes, my son and I were in the mood for wood-fired pizza. We decided to order the "Pepperoni Pie" (marinara, mozz, pecorino) and the "Honeybear Pie" (marinara, mozz, sausage, hot honey, whipped ricotta, oregano). The pizzas came out super fast and they were super delicious! To pair with the pizza, I ordered a beer flight which consisted of "Hop Commander" (IPA), "Jam Juice" (Hazy IPA), "Golden Delicious" (Belgian Tripel), and "Dark Chocolate Cherry" Imperial Stout). They were all pretty good, but the tripel was my favorite. Overall, we had an excellent experience at Captain Lawrence Brewing and I look forward to visiting their Barrel House in Mount Cisco in the future!

If you read my reviews word for word, you know I don't drink beer and have never as an adult. As a kid though, I'd sneak in some beer and add sugar to it (gross right?) when my parents had house parties. I'm so sure that's what set it off. Why come here then? Well, aside from beer- which hubs loves, Captain Lawrence has Red/White Sangria and a Mule (glass) cocktails and canned cocktails (?). Plus their food items sound good of course. I can see the outside seating area getting jam-packed in warm months- but it was so bone-chilling cold- inside it was. Lots of seating with like a separate space for private parties(?) and a gift shop to the left as soon as you come in here. We placed our order up front at the bar then given a buzzer to hold on to and pick up our order- but it was actually brought to us. Thank you! Their 1-page menu has a bit of everything for Vegans, Vegetarians and carnivores. My Mornay+ Mushroom pizza was quite good with those char marks I love- but not burnt to a crisp. My Miso-Maple Brussel Sprouts without bacon as I requested it were very tasty. So were hubs chewy-good pretzels that he enjoyed dipping in the mustard and I enjoyed without it. He also liked their buffalo-chili rub wings. The drinks? My Sangria (actually got 2) packed a very nice punch and hubs' enjoyed his 2 West Coast IPAs. Whatever makes a good brewery/beer garden- it's probably here: the staff is friendly and the mood is upbeat as you enjoy your pint on cafeteria-style tables. We actually sat awayyyy from everybody else on high-tops. But am I missing something....since when do beer gardens or anywhere they serve alcohol a free-for-all for parents to bring in their babies and toddlers???? I mean....this place looked like there were freaking playdates up in here. Parents just need to know a kid's place- and it's not here. I guess NO ONE misses out on a family day out¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Such a fun hangout space. We sat at the picnic tables inside as it was getting chilly. Food selection was good. The pizza and the short rib sandwich were out of this world. Varieties of beer abound. Service was friendly and helpful. We liked hanging out there. Service was a little slow but we were there during peak hours. Also, music tends to be a bit loud inside. Overall, fun hang out space with good food and beer. Great for friends or family dinner.

Ask the Community - Captain Lawrence Brewing

Is it a mixed age crowd - just asking as I'm 51 - just want to feel comfortable?

    Yes, all ages are welcome.

Is gratuity automatically added to large parties?

Not sure. Doubt it. But that shouldn't be an issue. Check your bill.

    Are they dog friendly?

    Yess

Are there Gluten Free items on the menu?

There are options: tacos (which are amazing ) shishito peppers, etc. The menu does change ender so often but there are definitely choices for those who are GF. Currently there are 2 ciders on tap as well.

Why did the dog policy change? This was one of the best perks about going to Captain Lawrence Brewery.

Because some people approached the dogs without consulting with the owner first and there were issues.

Are kids allowed? Are there communal games?

Lots of kids here, there is a sandbox and cornhole. Dogs however are not allowed.
