Came with friends here on a Wednesday night for trivia and so glad I did! This is more like a tap room, though they do serve food. I ended up ordering a hot dog with mustard relish. I was originally going to order a canned cocktail from Liquid Fables but they didn't have the one I wanted so I stuck with water. Note: you are allowed to bring your own food if you want! Came for a beer after a long hike - did not disappoint. The place isn't large like most breweries, but it still had about ten 6-top tables, bar service and some back ledge seats. Appreciated off the bat that dogs are permitted indoors - just not bar seating! To note, they also offered outdoor front-patio seating. We only came for a couple beers, opting for a guest cider, the Maibach and the ESB; we ultimately got a 4-pack of thr ESB to go for $20 (price of all 4-packs). There were a surprising amount of families with children here, many of whom were playing on the floor, which was kinda gross for the kids, but c'est la vie. Our dog noticed food on the ground so we were concerned about toddlers eating food off the floor, so maybe just something to be cautious about. There were plenty of board games, some missing pieces, but that's to be expected. Would've loved more 2-player options but considering it's a groups thing to offer games as is, no complaints there. Looking forward to coming back next time we're up here for a hike. Highly reccomend this place over River Side Brewery! read more

Went with a friend to try out some local craft brews. Late in the afternoon, mid week and the place is empty. We sit at the bar and the bartender on duty offers us samples of anything we want to taste as this is our first visit. We each chose a different beer and proceeded to work our way through and onto beer #2. IMHO, SSKB has more variety than some other well known local breweries with selections ranging from a Cream Ale to a NEIPA and a not 1 but 2 stouts. Didn't eat anything so no comment on the snackage. Look forward to a return visit after a couple of months to give them a chance to change over some taps. P.S. The photo I posted shows the sign they have indicating when they last cleaned the tap lines. Some friends and I had just had a discussion about some places they had been where the lines hadn't been cleaned in monrths, probably years. That alone will keep me coming back. read more

Disclaimer - this review doesn't talk about beer but focuses on the food and the service. I was in Ossining for a long run on the Old Croton Aqueduct, and my friends and I stopped by the brewery for a quick lunch after the run. My friends love to drink hence we chose this brewery, but I don't so I was trying everything excluding the alcohol. Staff here are very friendly, helpful, and attentive. I like how they permit ordering food from the restaurants nearby, and they even encourage us to do so. You must buy a food item from the brewery for beer, and the most solid meal you can get here is a hot dog. The hot dog is actually really good and I can see that they took the time to figure out the best hot dog. You can choose either 50% pork and 50% beef hot dog or 100% beef hot dog, and they also offer different kind of topping. Mustard relish was fresh and went really well with the hot dog. The hot dog comes in a pretzel bun and it's worth the price (I think it was around $6.50 per hot dog). I also like that the brewery offers products from other local restaurants on the menu - i.e. pretzel from First Village Coffee and Portuguese cookies from Ossining Bakery. I've never seen cookies so cheap (50 cents) so I went for it, and brought the coffee from First Village Coffee. They were solid. read more

Sing Sing Kill Brewery is an awesome new addition to Ossining's evolving downtown! The taproom is a cool combination of reclaimed vintage and open loft space, yet it is warm and inviting. The brewery is a New York Farm brewery, so all of the items on the menu are from New York based ingredients and/or from New York-based companies. They brew on site, and you can see the room where the tasty brews are made. There is always a new beer on tap- almost weekly. The in-house brewer, Matt Curtin, is always turning out innovative, new beers with cool, quirky names. Favorites include the milk-chocolate stout, Bière de Forage (foraged mushroom beer!), and the Group W Bench (a tribute to Alice's Restaurant). If you're not a beer person they always have a delicious selection of cider, the standard offering is a sweet pear cider with a second rotating selection of seasonal cider- a favorite was the sour cherry cider from this past summer. They also offer a selection of New York state liquors. I highly recommend asking the the house favorite: the Easy Rider- it's house made Malta with NY State rye whiskey. Pro-tip: It's even better with a small sidecar of stout or Porter. Food: they offer a few small tasty noshes. If you want more substantial food, you can order from a local restaurant or bring your own. They made the decision to focus on beer not be a restaurant, which is great if you love good beer. They also have started to offer cool events such as Barre at the brewery on Saturday afternoons, comedy shows, and live music. There is something for everyone- and they are also very kid friendly! We were looking to kill an hour or so before going to an event, so we decided to check out this place. I mean it's named after a notorious prison that is located two blocks away! The staff were very friendly and help when choosing from their beer selection. I opted for a flight so I could sample several varieties. We were there around Halloween so they had a few great pumpkin beer options, one of which is served through a tapped pumpkin. It was fantastic! The prices were very reasonable. I ended up here because a food truck I love happen was going to be at their brewery for a few hours. Had never heard of thus brewery prior to this day . When we arrived we learned that we had to place our order for the food truck inside through the brewery. The brewery employees were the ones to process all transactions for the food truck and received the tips from food truck sales. So I went inside to place an order and right from the start was given this vibe that we weren't welcome there. Either way I gave an 18% tip and headed out to grab my food from the truck. My fiancé wanted to sit down and have a drink so we went back in and ordered some drinks and sat down at a table. Multiple groups did the same, food from the truck and either sat down inside or in the outdoor seating area. Yet for whatever reason we were still treated very poorly, like we were just not wanted there. Definitely won't ever come back to this place. We've been here twice. Atmosphere is punctuated by exposed brick, music that knows what vinyl is, and a hustling, friendly staff that knows the selection of brew down cold, if you'll excuse the pun. Brewing is done on premises; the selection is wide and delicious. Bring your own food. Don't expect to watch a game here- no TV. Sing Sing Kill is a cool little brewery/tasting room/pub right in the middle of Ossining. My girlfriend moved into town a few days ago and I made a list of all the places I wanted to check out. It's basically three rooms: a foyer in the middle, a microbrewery to the left, and a bar and tasting room to the right. Everything is clearly visible from the street through big glass windows. It feels intimate but open - the bar room is spacious and furnished with dark wood. The malt and barley is stored in bags in the bar room. They have 10 - 15 beers on tap. Their beers range from wildly experimental (milkshake rye imperial) to right down the middle (farmhouse ale) and are consistently fresh and intriguing. There's definitely something for everyone here, whether you only drink Blue Moon or turn down anything that isn't a double IPA, but none of their beers sacrifice flavor, creativity or ABV in favor of pure accessibility. They opted for a new type of New York State license that requires them to serve products that contain a mandated amount of locally sourced ingredients, which starts at a low percentage and increases to 90% over the first year or so that the license is held. I'm really into this, not just because it supports small businesses but because it gives the beer a regional identity and flavor and contributes to an unparalled sense of freshness. Reccomend: Body Snatcher double IPA, farmhouse ale, all 3 of their rye-heavy beers Worth a 30 minute drive. Friendly and engaging staff. Price points on the upper end of reasonable but appropriate for the locally sourced ingredients, excellent overall experience, and aesthetic appeal of the location. read more

Sing Sing Kill is a great little brewery in a converted industrial space serving all manners of beers, meads and ciders, most of which are made from locally sourced ingredients. The owner and staff are friendly, attentive and more than happy to talk with you about the space, it's events and production methods, giving the bar a very personal feel. But what about the beer? It's fantastic. I had a smoked maple syrup stout - smooth, toasty and delicious without overwhelming the senses.
