Fish and Chips from the truck.

Their truck is one of the classics at the fireworks fest. They're brilliant with the fryer, carefully maintaining the integrity of the fish and potatoes. New this year: there was no wait and enjoyed the refreshing white sangria.

WTAF. Boogie Fish and Chips with unique and tasty cocktails. Friendly staff. Octopus was perfect. French fries are almost like a British roasty. Crunchy on the outside, creamy and soft on the inside. It's a little pricy, but you definately get what you pay for here!!

Brothers Fish & Chips has great seafood--everything was fresh and well seasoned. The restaurant is on the smaller side, which makes it perfect for a more intimate gathering. Definitely worth a try--you won't be disappointed.

Amazing seafood restaurant, working with seasonal and local fished fishes. The flounder was cooked perfectly and served with seasonal vegetables. Nothing fancy or extra, just perfectly and simply cooked food. The waitress was kind and friendly. It was affordable for that high quality food I recommend and will go again to try more

I spent my evening at brothers fish and chips with my cousin. I am very satisfied with the seafood. I was offered many different seafood dishes to try and they all sounded so appetizing. The place is very pretty on the inside and gives off a luxurious feel to it. I had the pleasure of being served by George, he was very attentive and very educated when it comes to the menu, drinks, and the food itself, he provided such great service that I will be coming more often.

To go location review: Best fish and chips outside of London. Yep I said it! This spot has been on my list but I underestimated how good it would be. I ordered the fish tacos and a side of coleslaw. The fish was super fresh and crispy. Topped with slaw and a mango pico. The blue corn tortilla was a nice touch. So much tastier than corn or flour! My one down side was the slaw on the taco was a little wet, so if you didn't eat fast enough it made for a soggy tortilla. The staff was nice, but 0 urgency in making our order. We waited close to 30 minutes for 2 tacos. Mind you there was only one other person there at the time we arrived. The outside is unsuspecting and doesn't give the general appear of a great spot, but don't be fooled! If you are in the market for some quality food definitely your spot!

    Crab tostones

Wow this restaurant didn't miss on a single element! I thought it was a nice touch when they added flowers on everything - made for a nice presentation. The crab tostones had some really fresh crab meat. It went well with the fried plantains and surprisingly had a great depth of flavor. The fish and chips were life changing. I didn't know it could be cooked so well like this. The fish was flaky and light, almost buttery. The breading was thin and crispy. You can pick cod or bass, and I chose cod. The tartar sauce and coleslaw were also both excellent! They gave us a free orange creme brulee on the house and it had just the right amount of citrusy orange flavor! Very cool dish, and was served in an orange peel with toasted brown sugar beneath. The ambiance was a little odd because they were playing some slightly loud remixed pop music and had a light strip under the bar which was odd because the restaurant is quite upscale. But I thoroughly enjoyed the food here!

Was underwhelming to say the least I ordered the fish and chips the bass I got grilled fish I'm not sure if I read it wrong or what the tacos my boyfriend had were good and the fish I was looking for . The sake serving was small and the gratuity was included in the bill. After delivering the check our waitress informed us ...perhaps that's why she wasn't over zealous in attending us. I tried to make conversation in Spanish which she ignored. When we left was the only real time we were really thanked or acknowledged. For 100 we left hungry kinda sad to say .

Another great dinner here. Always the best ingredients and creative dishes. Menu is small and prices are very high expensive. But the details and the quality of the dishes make up for it.

It's been two hours since we ate here, and we're still shaking our heads saying, "man, what WAS that?!?" It was that good! This spot is celebrating 14 years in business for a reason. Awe-inspiring food is made in this little restaurant nestled beside a nail salon and parking lot. Everything tastes nothing like you've had before. From the lobster in a squid-ink sponge cake, to the coleslaw on the fish tacos, to the lightness of the fried fish, to the pillowy tres leches - it's just nonstop hits. And it's not one of those pretentious places where things look artsy and prices are high and there's no flavor. No! The food here is so inventive and delicious and fresh. Cannot wait to come back and try their take-out business next door - their fish sandwiches, calamari and more. They even have adorable outdoor seating. Hats off to the insanely-talented chef Elmer and his team, and our server Guan who was so kind and so helpful to us - he gave us the best recommendations the whole night. See you again soon. 5 stars!!!!

It was amazing. The drinks were great and the food was exceptionally good. I'd definitely recommend this place. The tostones with crab are to die for.

Disclaimer: I always give my stars rating based on the type of restaurant, so I rate a Michelin…read morestar differently than a great hang place. We were heading up to Croton-on-Hudson for a show and none of the restaurant options were looking appealing. We wanted something with a view of the water since it was the first truly Spring weather day we'd had this season. I saw that the rating for this place wasn't spectacular, but loved the photos and decided to read recent ratings, and we decided, even if the food is "meh" at least we'll be outside by the water. The Boathouse did not disappoint. The host who seated us was friendly and enthusiastic. Our server was everything you want in a server: Friendly, Confident in making suggestions, Attentive without being pushy or annoying, and just an honestly great man who was so fun to chat with. We both just had mains: Husband had the seafood gumbo. Wow! So packed with flavor, and yes, the spice hit you on the back end, but SO yummy. Packed with seafood and sausage, rice that wasn't gummy, and I am sorry Tom Colicchio, the okra was delicious! The "slime" that we all fear had more of a velvety texture that was not off-putting at all, and the flavor was really unique and enjoyable. i had the Shrimp Luciano. Five jumbo shrimp without a hint of vein or shell, sautéed in an egg batter that crisped at the edges. The sauce...omg....so flavorful. I find so often that chefs add too much of spice and herb but not here. It was well balanced and so yummy. If I wasn't in public, I would have licked the plate clean! Oh, and it came with green beans, one of my least favorite vegetables because again, I find so many just over cook and over season. This were lightly sautéed so they had a fresh from the garden taste and a perfect snap to them. Garlic mashed potatoes...made with red bliss...had a sweet element, not sugary, but there was a flavor were just couldn't identify....maybe a hit a nutmeg? Regardless, they were heavenly. Then we made the decision to share a slice of the crème brûlée cheesecake. We didn't have room, but our "neighbors" at the next table said we had to try it...so we did. WOW! This was not your typical heavy overly sweet cheesecake. It was light, had specks of vanilla, a very thin lovely crust and the taste....sooooooo good. The wine by the glass choices were great: $12 for a wonderful glass of Albariño?? It was so crips and light and perfect with my meal. Husband had an IPA...we think it was called Maine Lunch and it was also delightful. I will note: the tables are NOT on the dock. They are a ways back but the water view surrounds you. I saw some tables set up right by the dock edge near the water and apparently they have a bar and music there once it gets warm. If it wasn't a 2 hour in traffic drive, this would be our new regular haunt. For now, we will have to make excuses to go up this way!

We do notice two empty tables outside but understood that maybe they don't want to seat people and overwhelm the kitchen. After about 10 mins of waiting we're offered one of the tables that had been empty. (Which were outside). No menus given but we noticed the QR codes. Guy comes by and drops off cups w ice and a carat of water. Waiting... waiting.... Finally another server comes and asks if we'd like to order drinks. Yes, and our meals bc we've been sitting here for quite some time. We get our coffees and there's a lot of grinds at the bottom of the cups, server switches it out. We finally get our food and two of the three meals were not hot, not even warm. But we're hungry and eat but when the server checks in my sister says "honestly for as long as we waited we would've expected hotter food, these two (egg dishes) are cold." He apologizes and says he'll let the manager know. The manager, who I can only assume is Lisa (based on the responses I'm seeing here on Yelp) came out and said I hear the food is cold? And was very aggressive right off the bat. Saying everything comes right out of the kitchen and to the table, we don't have heat lamps. Offers to "reheat" the food (but how, the microwave?) we're already half way thru the dishes as we had waited a long time. My sister tried to express that after waiting for a table, service and grounds in the coffee that this was disappointing - the manager interjects w "well did you tell him did he give you a new one" She does NOT take criticism very well, she's abrasive and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. She then came out (after I assume finding out the whole story and how long we had been there) she said she would take the two items off the bill, which we weren't gunning for. As we just gave honest feedback when asked how everything was. We then noticed her come and check in on the other tables outside bc people who got there well after us also got their food at the same time... As much as I'd want to come back and try it again bc the promise is there. The manager was such a turn off, that I would be spending my money there, again.

The pics, reviews, and menu all seemed to point towards a yes - so off we went. Freddy's is located within the main commercial hub of Pleasantville. It's not a large restaurant, but holds a decent amount of seating with tasteful and laid-back decor. We were there right at opening at 4:30p, so it wasn't crowded but started filling up as time progressed. The menu is mostly American - arranged by apps, salads, entrees, sides, and desserts. I decided to start with the burrata which was served with diced butternut squash, brown butter, and grilled bread. This was...not what I was expecting. Burrata usually comes as an intact sphere that you cut open to reveal the soft cheese inside. This was already broken, and served in an almost deconstructed way. It honestly looks like a way to cut corners as it was definitely not a whole burrata. That, and the lack of flavor do not make it worth the $17 they charge. My main was better - I ordered the smoked chicken which was a breast on the bone and came with grits, spinach, and honey au jus. This was tasty - the chicken was juicy with crispy skin, and the au jus added a welcome sweetness to the grits and spinach. We opted for dessert because birthday - I chose the carrot cake which was just okay. No nuts, raisins, or noticeable carrots - so, a spice cake? As a side note, we were there during HV Restaurant week, however in lieu of a dedicated menu they offered a prix fixe app/entree/dessert off their menu. It sounded great at face value, but then we were told the portions would be smaller - and for items they couldn't shrink they up-charged if we ordered off the regular menu. IMO, not the best way to do restaurant week - either have a dedicated menu for it or don't participate at all. That being said, we decided to order off the regular menu. Service was good, everyone was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, Freddy's sent me mixed signals - the food wasn't bad, but this isn't a place I would go out of way to try again - it's more of a local spot in my perspective. If circumstances found me here again, though, I wouldn't be mad.

We went on Easter for brunch, which we decided to do last minute and they let us know they could squeeze us in. We sat on the screened in patio. They were massively busy, but the staff was on their toes, checking in, taking away empty plates, being very kind (even though they were clearly crazy with how busy they were). We started with the Brie stuff pretzels. They were more like pretzel sandwiches (pretzel sticks cut in half with Brie in between), but were really tasty. It was all so good, I kept forgetting to take pictures until after we had already dug in. The pretzel app came with 4 pretzel/brie sandwiches. We also got the spinach an artichoke dip. It came with a nice amount of chips (hate when they give you too few and then you're just left with gobs of dip and nothing for it). It also came with salsa and sour cream, which seemed odd, but was nice for the extra chips and also family friendly if the dip didn't appeal to kids. The dip itself was really nice, it didn't taste as rich as spinach and artichoke dips often are. I could really taste the spinach, but in a good way. Usually dips like that make me feel overly full and are so heavy, this was a refreshing take on it. We got the Dutch baby pancake, the kids Mac and cheese, the pimento cheese and ham omelet (which I got scrambled), chicken and waffles, and the hot honey chicken. Overall, the food was delicious. The flavors all had depth and were really satisfying. We came home with lots of leftovers and we were all very happy when the meal was done. We will definitely be going back.

We were actually supposed to go on vacation but apocalyptic weather at our destination meant that every flight to that region was cancelled or severely delayed and ain't nobody got time for that so we decided to take a staycation instead. It felt only right to do the thing we would have done on vacation and go out for dinner. TBH we're old now so vacation or not, we eat on the earlier side of things. I think we went at around 5:30pm. Ample amount of seating available at that time. They have quite a large menu with many intriguing options. Unfortunately, only vegetarian main I recall was the mac and cheese. Instead, I settled on the santa fe salad for my main and GF the lettuce tacos for hers. The appetizer menu was particularly appetizing but we had to settle on two so we went with the spicy cauliflower and brie-stuffed pretzel. The spicy cauliflower was flavored aggressively, in a positive kind of way. The accompanying ranch brought everything together. You also can't go wrong with a brie stuffed pretzel. I don't typically like sweet in what is traditionally a savory flavor profile but the fig jam really added a welcome new dimension. Santa fe salad was gigantic. I actually was able to eat the rest of it for dinner on the following night. Absolutely loaded with goodies like avocado, corn, cheese, black beans, scallions, tomatoes. What a combo of flavors and textures in that thing. GF enjoyed all of the tacos except for nashville hot chicken but she isn't a big fan of chicken to begin with. I was especially impressed by their drink menu. They have a literal "smoked" menu which I could not pass up. I went with the southern smoke which is out of character for me because I typically don't get bourbon (for a reason...and i suffered later). This drink packed a fucking PUNCH. My goodness. There is no candy land bullshit juice drinks here, you definitely get your money's worth. There was a touch of a time period between when I finished my drink and was asked if I wanted another but at least they did ask. Ultimately a good experience. I do wish they had some vegetarian mains but if you aren't vegetarian and like southern food you would probably enjoy tremendously.
