Decided to give this place a try while in Peekskill this morning and so glad I did. I never get to try daytime food in Peekskill since I work in the city during the week and on weekends mostly eat in or locally (Yorktown) anyway, my daughter and I stopped in and chose to eat outside. Perfect day sun above us with a nice cool breeze. I had a caramel latte, she had juice. My latte was perfect and they serve in coffee mugs that make you feel like your home not just a diner like coffee mug. I had the Greek Omelette which was soooo good and my daughter had the Veggie Omelette also very good. The home fries for me were good but I like mine cooked more crispy and I had forgotten to ask for salt and pepper which probably would have made it more seasoned which was a bit lacking for me but my daughter said hers were perfect. Overall still will be back again as the friendly staff and yummy food made this to my newest breakfast stops worth my 15 min drive. read more

An absolutely terrific time at the Bean Runner cafe last night. They had a classic Salsa band playing on the street in front of the cafe and a nice crowd of guests dancing and having a great time. Peekskill is an old town that has developed a very nice group of breweries and restaurants around the town and quite a nice crowd of young people moving in to the beautiful lofts that are developed from the great old architecture found throughout. The bean runner offers great service and cold beer. The food and drinks are ok but they do offer a good collection of wines and beer. They have a beautiful collection of art work throughout the restaurant but the best part was the entertainment which was fantastic! read more

Okay- one story will sum it up. They have this waitress there, an older unkept lady ( could be the owner, probably not)- I was seated at my table, i was alone, it was a cafe table for two , the place was full-this arrogant asshead comes over with a full tray of beverages and puts it down on my table in front of me in an agressive way. Those drinks were for all the surrounding tables. What frickin nerve- that was a first- i glared angrily at her to show my displeasure- she didnt GAF. Been here probably 3x's since summer but need to find another place. Real simple... hugely and ridiculously overpriced, horrible servers and frankly, I can't figure out what they specialize in or are good at here. It certainly isn't the coffee or service! The latter seriously needs improvement! I met the owner and his wife and both could not have been nicer so I'm sorry for the poor review but man, breakfast shouldn't cost $65 and like I said, the coffee is absolutely nothing special. First time and we loved it, I had the Lobster Bisque soup and it was just delishhhhh wished it came with the crackers and I also had the Cross Country wrap (Chicken, guacamole, grilled and peppers, cheddar cheese, salsa, sour cream & lettuce on a spinach wrap) and OMG my mouth just danced with joy. It did take a lille longer to get our food, but the wait was worth it. Now let's talk about inside, I love how they support local artist as they have their paintings displayed on their walls and you can purchase them right there on the spot. Plenty of seating (inside and out), very clean and loved their homemade lemonade. Will stop by again when we are up in Peekskill. A must try if you are in Peekskill. The environment is very family friendly. I brought my two kids. My entire family really enjoyed. I ordered a chocolate peanut butter smoothie. The crêpes were delicious. I really enjoyed the service. I appreciate the employee's patience. Kindness goes a long way. They also have live music which is great. read more

I really liked this place's cozy, small town, coffee shop atmosphere. It's the type of place the Gilmore Girls would get a cup of coffee. The outdoor seating makes makes you feel like you're in a place that isn't Peekskill, no offense to Peekskill. The food menu is comparable to a diner. I had a nice bacon egg and cheese and the pancakes were also good. The service was also really friendly. I'll definitely be stopping back in. read more

Fantastic food and a great place to relax and meet up with friends, and the staff is friendly

We went here today for lunch, not knowing what to expect. We were greeted at the door and took a seat. The service was quick and friendly. I had the Flatbush Jog, and my girlfriend had the Olympic Mile. She doesn't like garlic, and there was no problem leaving the garlic drizzle off. The sandwiches were fresh and delicious!! The cole slaw was so good, o wanted to take a container home. We finished with a slice of carrot cake that was moist and has the perfect amount of cream cheese frosting. (That always makes me feel better) In any case When I finally got to order, I started with the wine bottle and a mocha latte (I felt like coffee first then wine). So for my meal I simply ordered a panini that came with (jerk chicken) mozzarella, tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and some sort of spread. 45mins later I was still waiting, ( I asked the waitress) i know I'm not in a 5 star but what was the hold up? Always clean, great service, nice chill ambiance. Food was always delicious. The live music is really really nice.. When the stars are aligned (good music / fine weather) the BeanRunner's outside summer stage situated between two streets works perfectly. Tables are spaced accordingly yet there was a cozy / comfortable atmosphere this Saturday night. Food is safe but limited to sandwiches and salads as we did enjoy the "Run Devil Run" - chicken with red pepper buffalo sauce, blue cheese, lettuce & tomato on a panini - Spicy good. I'm disappointed with this place. We went to get brunch here, and their $24 "big" breakfast included two small pancakes, a small omelet and two pieces of turkey bacon. It was not enough to fill one person. They never brought us milk for our coffee, utensils, or anything we needed. We had to go get our own things because the waitress forgot to bring us anything and then charged us a fee for using a credit card. They also forgot part of our order and never brought it. When we asked about it, they said "we made it wrong, so we cancelled it." I hope they up their game. read more

Lovely coffee shop. We ran into this local gem on our way to Blue Mountain park. The Omelette was fresh and delicious. The fruit cup was cut on the spot. The lattes were very good. Visted this cozy spot this past weekend and it felt like I was on vacation listening to a live Caribbean band. The live band was great... We did not get to taste the food because we had eaten prior to arriving but everyone at our table was raving about the Roti. We did order drinks but the menu is limited to wine, sangria and beer and a few specialty drinks. My husband wanted a Long Island Ice Tea and they said they did not have that. Our friends were regulars and they are Caribbean and assure us the food is great. i can only review on the ambiance and drinks. It seems to have a lot of regulars. Found this place while we were visiting Peekskill. The place is very trendy inside. The art on the walls was very interesting. The food was good and priced just right. With the current COVID set up it felt a tiny bit awkward. We're not from the area and it seemed like we were expected to know what their protocols were. Stopped in on a rainy day for a late lunch and a cappuccino. Being that it was after lunch but not quite dinner time, it was nice and quiet. We were immediately greeted very warmly and given menus. Ordered the Mediterranean and a fiesta salad, and both were brought out quickly. Service was very friendly and we will definitely have to go back on a night when they have live music. Thought the dining area was lovely and very cozy. The outdoor seating in the courtyard looked nice and had the weather been cooperating we would have tried sitting outside.
