How do you add a chimney with french fries? I thought it was a chimney. A real chimmy is a Dominican sandwich. It's a sandwich you put steak or whatever the hell you want to put with. Between two buns you gave me tater tots with freaking six pieces if even steak pickled onions pickled jalapenos on a plate bro. Seriously that was awful and then you got the nerve to charge me almost $20 for it. Why? Because it's steak? Are you serious? What is that steak in a bowl with tater tots? Had brunch here recently and it was such a great experience! Brian was our server and he was awesome, super patient, friendly, and got everything just right. We ordered the Hot Cakes, huevos rancheros, and burgers and everything was delicious. We found parking really easily which was a nice surprise, and the vibe inside was fun and relaxed. Years come and go, and as every business, things go up and down. After a few bad apples and management taking care of them, its changed for the better. Today, it's packed to the gills, and im enjoying the atmosphere. Beers are the thing to come here for.. try all of them and then buy the pint. Buy a flight byt just buy some to take home. Food: dont eat the tacos.. It's not a mexican joint. Everything else is blessed. I personally get the cajun or dry rubbed wings, Brussels with bacon, yes Brussels, and the chicken and waffles. The service here was good. The woman who helped my table was friendly and would check in on us sparingly. I went here on an open mic night where they hosted bands and DJs. It gave warehouse vibes. Large on the inside with minimalistic decoration. The yellow walls and lighting made it seem dim in a not good way. I ordered the mangolada sour beer. The beer was good. It had great flavor, was light, refreshing, and definitely sour. As a non beer drinker I enjoyed it. The crowd is mixed. You have young and old. The music played is also a mix of generation. I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was beyond frustrating and needs to be addressed. Our server, John C, was clearly intoxicated while on the job, slurring his words, stumbling around, and blatantly ignoring our table. Every single order we placed was wrong, and instead of correcting it or even acknowledging us, he spent most of his time flirting with female customers like he was off the clock. When we finally received our food, it was the wrong order, and to make matters worse, it was cold. At that point, we had to send everything back. Only then did someone finally start paying attention to us, after realizing we'd been sitting there quietly waiting and clearly being ignored. To be fair, the food (once corrected) was actually quite good, and the beer was excellent. But none of that makes up for the appalling service. Having an intoxicated server who completely neglects his job is not only unprofessional--it's a serious liability. Went here on a Monday afternoon. Our server/bartender Joe was phenomenal. He was working by himself. Serving the bar, tables & outside area. Hustling to run food and drinks, always polite and respectful during every encounter. We asked if we could bring our two puppies inside since it was windy out and he was extremely sweet and accommodating. The beer was delicious, nice ambiance inside, and food was tasty as well! I do have to say that when I first started looking into craft beer breweries for NYC what at least seemed to me not a terribly long time ago (but in actuality probably was) there was not that many breweries there. It definitely has increased noticeably. Sure, it's not what I would call "saturated" still like some cities but it definitely has increased. In a way because of this scratching off breweries for this city is a little bit easier and more manageable. Yonkers Brewing is just the latest to scratch off the list for the city and I did indeed like this one relatively well. We had one beer, an IPA called Ray's IPA. This was a fairly refreshing beer with it's citrus and dry-hopped flavor features. I do especially Ike dry hop flavor... Tartness also gives this IPA a little bit of a different spin as well. It was a pretty light IPA which makes it an enjoyable summertime beer and the timing for it was fairly well timed as it was summery day when we had it when the pattern of weather was deciding if Spring was still happening or if summer was going to take the stage. read more

So after a long productive extremely strange day. I was craving something to eat......Since I barely ate yesterday (which is a lie because I did stop by the Smorgasbord near the ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER lol). Now I usually go to my favorite spot FRANCEY's to get my go to wraps but I was craving something I just didn't know of what (something budget friendly and like I don't know I was between Hungry and Angry..."Hangry") After my last trip to Yonkers Brewing.... There was one night (Trivia Night all the food orders were delayed or something i wasn't sure of the issue that previous night, but I walked out and went elsewhere) Even so that wouldn't stop me from coming back again being a customer. So fast forward into today I was very indecisive with what I honestly wanted to eat last night. I literally almost had everything in Getty Square. I was aimlessly walking from the library's Halal Food Truck and then went to Singas and then all the way down to Tacos El Poblano. I was JUST HUNGRY. So I started making my way downtown walking past family dollar and the post office towards the train station .... I noticed from a distance the outdoor seating of Yonkers Brewing Co ! I was instantly reminded of my favorite flavors and seasonings they had available...(Garlic Parmesan and that ridiculously satisfying taste of their "Boom Boom Sauce"...so why not combine them both) so I HAD to walk in... As usual the place is packed but not heavily crowded. Seating was comfortable, bathroom clean; but obviously it has been used a few time but they do take care of it... Even though the surrounding gnats were a bit annoying (but what business never has gnats it's the summer I can look past that! I don't drink (at all) but I usually sit at the bar. But this time I decided to sit elsewhere. I was immediately greeted TWICE by my first waitress Mariah who took my order and catered to me and then another waitress whom thought I was unattended(Professional CUSTOMER F**k&$g SERVICE )!! Making sure the customers are good! Mariah's strong work ethic and professionalism definitely was displayed and in plain sight when she took care of me and everyone else. So back to the food... I'm a daredevil number one... I like to modify my orders. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap without the buffalo sauce but add the garlic Parmesan seasoning that you would add on either the wings or boneless chicken. Substitute lettuce for mixed greens add tomato with a side of 3 boom boom sauce... .... My chicken was extra hot but the food was great. I remember dipping my fries in the boom sauce and slapping a huge glob of the sauce on my wrap..... damn that was soooo damn good AND THEY GAVE ME PICKLES AND COLESLAW I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY MY OBSESSION WITH A SANDWICH COMBO WITH PICKLES AND COLESLAW IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! Buffalo vs. Garlic Parm wings: Which one is better? Really upset it took me this long to find out how amazing the wings are. Ordered takeout last night and loved the vibe inside. My husband and I absolutely love this place. We usually opt for an early lunch on a weekday or weekend, when it's a bit less busy. We've been here many times over the years, and have brought family and friends who loved it just as much. We usually get flights to try a variety of beers and find new ones we love. The food has only gotten better over the years too. We're vegetarians and it's nice to have some variety in what we can eat. Also, the kitchen is usually accommodating if we want to add or change something. Overall, outside of the delicious beer and food, our absolute favorite thing about Yonkers Brewing Co. are the people. The waitstaff and bartenders are wonderful. Everyone is very friendly and goes above and beyond to provide great service in a way that feels authentic. Like they enjoy being there too. I had the pleasure of hosting my 40th birthday party here on Oct 5th for about 50 people. I won't do this place enough justice with my words but I'll do my best to convey how amazing the day was from start to finish. For starters the owner John and another employee Brayden were very helpful from the start of the planning. Prompt responses to my emails, offered phone calls/txts to follow-up, anything to help. There packages offered were more than fair for the pricing and i was able to create a custom package to my liking that again was very fairly priced! The day of the event I was given more than adequate time to setup a perfectly sized area, partially in and outdoors which was by request to have both. During the 4hr party window as soon as the open bar started the servers/staff were very attentive to the large parties needs, quickly sourcing drink after drink (my party was loaded with heavy drinkers and they kept up!) The food came out on time as expected and nothing was amiss, food was delicious (i chose 5-6 H'ordeurvs for the party) John kept checking in periodically to ensure service was at the level i was expecting and at no point in time did i have any complaints. I would absolutely host another party here given how easy it was to work with John and his amazing staff, great location with even better food / drinks! It's good to go back to places you haven't been to in years, especially from a Yelp standpoint. I mean, if I were to write up Yonkers Brewing Co. from the first time I was here (a little over four years ago) then I'd probably have given the spot a solid four stars. After this most recent visit a few weeks ago, I'm feeling more of a three star kind of rating. Don't get me wrong, it's not (necessarily) a negative three stars, but more of the idea that Yonkers isn't anything special (okay, and maybe a few small negatives I'll throw out there in a sec). I do like their brewpub-type setup and full selection of foods. Their staff/bartenders were pretty friendly which was nice to see. Oh and they did have a Mrs. PacMan arcade game there...well, maybe that's not too important. What should really hold the most clout is the beer. Yonkers does offer up quite a variety of sud styles, though here's where things kind of started to take a few hits. Before even ordering, their physical menu printouts didn't entirely match up with what was on the tap list board. A tad annoying (I mean at least stamp these as sold out or something) when I was looking to order one of the beers they didn't have. I did end up thoroughly enjoying my French Canadian Golden Strong Ale, though beyond that, most of the other beers I tried were rather basic, perhaps even forgettable. Maybe Moo Town (a semi-creamy milk stout) might have been memorable, but things like Laughter in the Dark (dark lager), Big City (pilsner) or even Terror in the Hollows (pumpkin beer) were nothing to write home about. Again, not bad brews by any means, but I wouldn't go out of my way to consume them. Speaking of devouring, Yonkers puts itself in the realm of restaurant by featuring a whole menu of edible options, both from a regular lunch and dinner menu as well as weekend brunch. I'll say there were plenty of items that sounded appetizing (had I/we been a tad hungrier) though my buddy was feeling the desire for some Bavarian pretzels so we at least ordered that. The two sticks that came out were hot, fresh, and flavorful, though I'm not sure I felt like they matched the pricing, especially for two small sticks. One last item to mention would be the featured day that Yonkers was running. It was promoted on social media as a "Kid's Party" which included face painting, a DJ in the back, and the TVs all had cartoons on them. Listen, I'm not gonna say that children shouldn't be allowed in a brewery (like Two Roads, which doesn't let any kinder in). Beer drinkers have families, I get that. And hey, Yonkers isn't just a brewery as they also dabble in dining, but the whole vibe of the place was like being in Chuck E' Cheese. I was afraid of accidentally throwing out an expletive and offending someone. Yeah, we knew Yonkers was throwing this shindig the day we went, but as a brewery, I'd just stick to the idea of letting children in and not hyping up the kid factor by creating an environment that some might find uncomfortable when expecting a brewery setup. Just sayin'. Overall, Yonkers Brewing Co. is decent. It's got a nice interior, a menu of food to chow down on, beers to drink, and I could see it being a place you might regularly visit...if you lived in Yonkers, maybe. Nothing here makes Yonkers Brewing Co. a place worth traveling to as a destination. You're better off a little further south at Gun Hill if you're really looking for that brewery ambiance. Knowing that and going back over this past experience, three stars sounds just about perfect. read more

My boyfriend and I found this on Groupon... mainly for the beers. Ya'll know usually Groupon deals usually have crappy food. This was NOT the case. The deal was 2 flights and an appetizer for $29.99 I believe. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and the mussels... so mussels and Brussels lmfao. The sprouts: MAD DELICIOUS B (in my NY-iest voice ever) My boyfriend DEVOURED that dish. The Muscles: so fresh but yo, that sauce?! We had to order more bread to get it ALL. Lol!! Amazing. The main dishes: Babe had the Mimi's Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich... AYO!!! The chicken was mad perfectly. I usually don't trust white people making my friend chicken up north but they must have somebody's black auntie Mable in the back frying that ish up. Very tender and delicious, thank you auntie. I had the shrimp BLT sandwich (trying to watch my figure LOL) AMAZING. The shrimp was well seasoned and the Greek yogurt dressing was perfect for that salad. The avocados were a nice touch too. Hubby and I came here after wanting to try them out for a long time but never doing so. I looked forward to having some pub food with a nice selection of beers. Unfortunately, the food ball was dropped in some part. We scored parking right outside and that's saying something because parking in that area can be hard to come by but there is usually quick turnaround with a lot of people coming and going. The staff is very friendly. We came here during a time when they were not at all busy so the bartender was able to give us her undivided attention, despite us sitting at a table. We ordered their mac and cheese to share and it was horrible. It was worse than if they just used Velveeta mac & cheese for their base, bland and loose. Very unappetizing. I had their dirty dogs on pretzel rolls which were served with chips. I asked for no bacon. They were ok but considering they were supposed to be fried, I felt they were missing that distinct crispy texture. I'm a person who likes my hotdogs charred on the grill; no colour, no flavor. Hubby enjoyed his main, the cheddar gorge burger. The upside is that I really liked their beers. I opted to have one of their flights, the Hudson line. We enjoyed sharing a dessert as well. It was a good experience and we'll probably be back but I'm definitely not getting any more of that mac and cheese until they fix it. read more

Visitied Yonkers Brewing Co. a few weeks ago to meet with some friends. We were looking for a local place for drinks and food that was central for all of us to go to. My frends had arrived before us and was able to get a table for our group. Our waiter was Joe and he was awesome! One of our friends had parked at a spot that was only 30 minutes, Joe approached our table and told them another nearby spot was available. He was def looking out for us! Joe took our orders and brought our drinks fairly quickly! They have a lot of different beers and mixed drinks. I started with their strawberry lemonade hard seltzer. It was super refreshing! I had also tried one of their beer specials which was the pumpkin beer and it was served with a sugared rim! it was sooo good it was like having a pumpkin dessert. We had ordered some food to eat while enjoying our drinks and had ordered the loaded nachos with short ribs. The nachos were delicious and the short ribs were so tender and complimented all the toppings! Overall we had a great time! The place was very laid back and nice hang out spot. I think this place is getting better everyday. We've come here a couple times throughout the years and I hope they keep doing what they're doing. The food has come a long way since a couple years ago. We had several different appetizers and entrees and everything was hot and tasty. Of course the beer is always good, but I'm glad the food is now better too. I look forward to coming here again and continuing to explore their menu.
